Take a feather duster and dust between each blind. Now let’s clean the roughest part of the entire window… the bottom track next to the screen! Lift your window and you’ll see all sorts of dead bugs, real DIRT, and more… If you clean your window faithfully, it might not look as bad as it does in these photos… I hope not. But if it looks that bad… I have a tip for you!! Spray the bottom edge with Lysol All Purpose Cleaner, fill your cleaning bucket with hot water and dip a sponge brush in the water. Use the sponge brush to get into the nooks and crannies and push the dirt into a pile for you to pick up with a paper towel and throw away!

It’s SO easy and look how clean my window floor is now! It was really fun getting in there and cleaning up all the dirt and grime!

The final step is to clean the open/close bar with some Lysol sanitizing spray. You can imagine how many germs are on this stick by the number of people in the house touching it!

*Disclaimer* When reusing old containers there is also an increased chance of contaminating your product! Always disinfect glass bottles before refilling to avoid contamination. We’ve given you a quick guideline below – but it’s up to you to use it wisely as you’ll be handling hot and fragile glass. If unsure, use brand new, sanitized containers.

What you will need:

70% isopropyl alcohol (best in a spray bottle)

paper towel

cotton swab

Empty glass dropper bottles

Step 1: Clean and soak

Make sure your bottle is empty. Oily products (like oil-based serums) shouldn’t go down the drain and belong in the trash.

Once the bottle is empty, quickly rinse to get rid of any product residue. To make label peeling easier and to ensure the container is clean, soak in soapy water overnight.

Step 2: Rinse, repeat

Remove your labels. Depending on how long you’ve soaked your bottles, this might take some elbow grease! Spray with 70% isopropyl alcohol to remove any stickiness.

After de-tagging, rinse twice with warm water to remove any remaining soap from the bottles.

Step 3: Cook for ten minutes

Be careful not to burn yourself (glass containers get very hot), use tongs to place your glass bottles in boiling water. Boil ten minutes.

After ten minutes, use tongs to remove your bottles. They will be extremely hot so simply place them on a surface to cool before handling.

*Disclaimer* Do not boil glass droppers! Parts with plastic components will begin to melt and soften in boiling water. Below are our tips for cleaning glass droppers.

Step 4: Rinse in 70% isopropyl alcohol

Once your glass bottles have completely cooled, rinse them with 70% isopropyl alcohol.

Completely submerge the glass bottles to disinfect them.

When you are confident that you can clean the entire interior surface of the bottle, pour just enough isopropyl alcohol into each bottle to clean them. Just swish and empty!

Step 5: Air dry

Place a fresh paper towel on a clean surface. Place each bottle upside down on the paper towel to drain.

You must wait for the bottles to completely air dry before refilling them.

It is important to wait until all alcohol and any residual water has completely evaporated before refilling or reusing. It’s best not to be in a hurry and let them dry overnight or 24 hours.

Tips for cleaning glass droppers

Since you cannot boil the plastic parts of glass droppers, it is more difficult to ensure proper disinfection. In general, we don’t recommend reusing eyedroppers unless you’re using them for something else (other than cosmetics). Remember that contaminated product is far worse for your health and poses a greater immediate risk to you – so don’t risk reusing if you are unsure!

However, depending on the type of pipette, you may be able to remove the glass pipette from the plastic dropper head. Just pull and wiggle the dropper a little to loosen it from the cap.

As with the instructions above: put the glass pipettes and plastic heads in your bottles and let them soak overnight.

When they’re done soaking, you can use a cotton swab and soapy water to clean the inside of the dropper and dropper.

Repeat this step twice with water to rinse.

We do not recommend boiling the small glass pipettes as they may break.

After rinsing off all the soapy water, submerge the plastic heads and glass pipettes in 70% isopropyl alcohol instead. Remove and allow to air dry completely.

Due to the design of the dropper, it can be difficult to tell if it’s fully air dried or not, putting you at risk of contaminating your product. If in doubt, use a new pipette.

When you are sure everything is dry, just put the dropper back in the plastic dropper and refill!

Follow these disinfecting tips in your bathroom to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses. If anyone in your household is sick or exposed, follow CDC guidelines for isolation. Disinfect all areas of the bathroom – the toilet seat, the bowl, all handles and all surfaces around the sink that are used when washing hands. Have paper towels or napkins ready to avoid sharing a towel to dry.

Wear gloves when disinfecting

Wear disposable gloves when cleaning and disinfecting the bathroom – gloves should be discarded after each cleaning. If reusable gloves are used, surface cleaning and disinfection gloves should be used. They should not be used for any other purpose.1

Disinfect your toilet

To disinfect your toilet, use Clorox® Disinfectant Bleach 2 and follow these steps to properly disinfect.

Disinfectant bleach to the water in the bowl. Scrub with a toilet brush, then leave on for 6 minutes before flushing again.

The exterior of a toilet, including the handle and seat, can be sanitized with the same bleach and water solution used for other bleach-safe surfaces in your home, ensuring the surface is soaked with the disinfectant for 6 minutes before flushing solution stays wet.

The Clorox® ToiletWand® is also a convenient way to disinfect your toilet bowl and throw away the bowl used for cleaning afterwards. Before cleaning, rinse the bowl, then open a bag of disposable cleaning heads and push the handle straight down onto the cleaning head until it snaps into place.

Immerse the cleaning head in the water of the toilet bowl for 1-2 seconds. Scrub the entire toilet bowl above the waterline and leave for 10 minutes to disinfect.

Hold the wand over the trash can and slide the button forward to release. Flush the toilet.

Disinfect your shower

Start by removing bath mats and other items. Pre-wash tub and tiles. Wipe down the tub and shower with the bleach solution. Wait 6 minutes to ensure effective disinfection, then rinse the tub and shower with warm water.
