To achieve the “instant” gray appearance on first use, we recommend a mixture of 50% Cabot’s Bleaching Stain and 50% Cabot’s Bleaching Oil. After the clapboard weather, the thin layer of stain wears away and the fading crystals begin to create the natural gray patina. The two local suppliers of Cabot’s bleaching oil and Cabot’s bleaching stain are Lowes Home Improvement and Goodrich Lumber in Kingston, Massachusetts.
