How long will Tinder show inactive profiles?
‘Tinder only shows profiles that have been active within seven days. ‘ Some followers couldn’t believe it while others felt vindicated.
How long do you have to be inactive before Tinder deletes your account?
According to Tinder, if your account has been inactive for more than 7 days, you won’t be visible at all. On the other hand, if you actually delete your account, your profile will be removed completely. If you download the app and create a new account, you’ll now be starting from scratch.
Do inactive Tinder accounts still show up?
Yes, you will still show up since deleting the app does not delete your account. You’ll simply fall into the Tinder inactive users pile. You will still show up to people who venture deep into their potential matches.
How can I find out if my GF is on Tinder?
A few ways to tell that someone has been active on Tinder is to look for the green dot along with “recently active” on their profile. Besides the green dot with “recently active”, see if she posted a recent picture of her. If she hasn’t been using the app within 10 days, she might not appear on your swipe stack at all.
Does Tinder Show Inactive Profiles? %
Tinder is often used as an easy way to practice infidelity. And the shown stats of Tinder users have proven that to us; A surprising percentage of Tinder users are either in a relationship or married. Therefore, your doubts and concerns will be heard and understood.
5 ways to find out if your girlfriend/wife is on Tinder:
1. Talk to her about it
To find out if your girlfriend or spouse (wife) is on Tinder, try the healthy ways first.
If you are looking for honesty and healthy ways to sort this out, then the best way is to talk to her about your doubts and to talk to her about what is troubling you.
Let her know that her behavior or anything she is doing to trigger this “problem” in you is making you insecure and questioning your trust in her.
After you talk to her, think about it and if you feel that she wasn’t sincere with you and she didn’t give you an honest answer, you can proceed with other methods to find out.
2. Ask a friend to keep their eyes peeled while swiping
Tinder has over 66 million users, I’m pretty sure you must have at least one straight friend currently using Tinder. Ask him to pay attention and let you know if he sees you mopping.
As long as your friends are willing to help, this is a pretty decent way to find someone on Tinder.
3. Use third party apps/sites to find them
You have to pay for their services, but you don’t have to open a Tinder account or ask friends to search for your girlfriend/wife on Tinder. Here are some of those apps/websites that might come in handy:
Cheater; social world;
Enter her name: Enter her age: Find her on Tinder
What you have to do is go to their website; Just enter your girlfriend/wife’s name, age and exact location.
The price of such services starts from $5.00 which might be a bit much for some of you. But if you have a feeling that she would open an account with her name and real age, then you will find it!
You can search for your wife/spouse on other dating sites which may provide more accurate results.
4. Create an account and set your preferences
I don’t recommend this and I say it every time, but if you’re feeling helpless at this point, you can try.
Keep in mind that this does more harm than good, so think it through before you decide to jump on it.
Here:
Download Tinder or go to Tinder.com and create an account;
Set your preferences according to her age and distance (e.g. if she’s 25 years old, set your age range to 25-28; then set your distance to 1-5 miles);
Start swiping until you find them.
In case you found it and accidentally swiped left? You can still rewind it and find her again.
Remember: she could use the Tinder Passport feature to swipe and look like she’s somewhere else (anywhere in the world).
It won’t cost you money, but it will cost you time, effort, energy and nerves. Lots of nerves. Think again before you decide to take this step!
5. Check if she has the app installed on one of her devices
This is another unhealthy way of solving this, but if it’s bothering you, check her devices and see if she has the app installed or if she’s browsed tinder.com in her history.
If she uses Tinder, she either has it installed on her phone or uses tinder.com in her browser.
You could end up being the culprit if you don’t find anything, and if she’s clean and catches you betraying her trust, it can make way for other problems in the relationship.
They have yet to find out if they are on other dating apps like Bumble, Facebook Dating, Match, Hinge, OkCupid, etc.
Before proceeding, there are a few things you need to be aware of
I’m going to share with you a few things to consider when choosing the methods I’ve mentioned and discussed above:
– You can block your contacts on Tinder.
Tinder allows you to connect the app to your contact list, so you can block any of your contacts that you don’t want to see on Tinder.
If you think she would use this feature and you want to create a profile so you can start swiping, you need a fake phone number for this to work.
– You can use Tinder in incognito mode in the browser without installing the app.
If that were the case and you checked their devices for the app or their history for the website, you wouldn’t be able to find anything since nothing stays in history when you use it incognito.
– It is possible to get away with a fake profile on Tinder.
If you are looking for her on Tinder by her name and pictures, keep in mind that she may have a fake profile with a fake name and profile pictures.
– You can tell she is lying if you ask her.
You know her well, she is your girlfriend/wife. Her tone of voice, her eye contact and her body language give it all away. Talk to her.
Why exactly is she on Tinder?
When you found your girlfriend or wife on Tinder, after the shock and pain, questions about the whole situation begin. Why is she on Tinder?!
There could be various reasons why she is on tinder, she is not there to make friends, she knows tinder is a dating app. Just take a look:
She seeks validation from outside. There are a large number of Tinder users who use the app just for this reason: to get validation and satisfaction and to feel important and interesting.
She looks at what else might be out there, as in “Am I missing something?”. In other words, she’s curious to see what other men are up to on the market. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s out and about dating them.
She is looking for another man. The app is designed for people to meet and socialize, but most importantly, date. If she’s on the app, there’s a good chance she’s using the app for exactly that purpose: to find someone else.
She tries to profit financially from the app. While Tinder is opposed to such behavior, many people benefit from putting links in their bios and promoting their stuff on their Tinder profiles; especially women.
She uses it to “take control”. You had a fight, or she found out you’re not as faithful as she thought you were, or some other reason that got you both upset, she’s now using this to protect her pride and vulnerability.
It’s their way of taking control, or their way of saying, “If you’ve done/said this, then get ready to take it!”
She may regret it later as this is usually a product of erratic compulsions; A momentary excitement, a slightly inappropriate behavior to make her feel insecure is enough to start the protective pride/vulnerability engine.
You found her on Tinder. What now?
Again, it can come as a shock to find your partner — whether it’s your spouse or girlfriend — on a dating app, followed by countless questions, anger, and pain. Here’s what you can do about it:
First, see if your wife/girlfriend has been active on Tinder recently. A couple of ways to tell someone has been active on Tinder is the green dot along with “recently active” on their profile. Next to the green dot that says “recently active,” see if she’s posted a recent picture of her. If she hasn’t used the app in 10 days, she might not show up on your swipe stack at all.
Clarify it with yourself: How are you and what do you feel like doing? Anger, bad mood, pain and confusion are normal in such situations.
Take time to calm down because when you experience strong emotions you are overwhelmed and your thinking quality is not at its best.
Take a breath and have a moment. Think about it and decide to do it once you calm down. Once you’ve done that, it’s time:
Talk to her; let her know your decision. If you’re looking for closure, you can ask her why she did it, have proof that you’ve seen her profile, let her know it made you feel bad, and finally let her know your decision.
Take what is reasonable for you. If you think giving her another chance is a sensible decision and that you can trust her again, then do it. It’s another chance.
On the other hand, if you feel like leaving it at that is best for you, then go for it.

How long do Tinder Shadowbans last?
Again, it’s account deletion. This means that waiting for three months doesn’t work unless you delete your current Tinder account. In conclusion, a Tinder shadowban lasts until you completely delete your account.
Does Tinder Show Inactive Profiles? %
Everything’s going great until… it’s not.
You get a few matches, your matches don’t reply to your messages, etc.
Well, you are absolutely not alone as many people have complained about the exact same things and had no idea what the signs might be.
are you banned If so, what is a shadowban anyway?
Let’s test it, shall we?!
What is Tinder Shadowban?
Tinder Shadowban means that Tinder punishes you for doing something wrong (e.g. violating Tinder community guidelines) without you knowing that you are being punished.
Your profile becomes almost invisible, and it takes some time before you realize that something is actually wrong.
It’s basically a punishment… from Tinder for doing something wrong, you naughty one!
How do I know I’m shadowbanned?
The official Tinder does not talk about it. However, we all know…
You’ll get banned on Tinder if you experience in-app passivity, whether it’s not getting matches, not getting likes, or even not having enough profiles to swipe through…
Here’s how you can specifically tell if you’re banned on Tinder:
1. If not zero, you will get very few matches.
You got a lot of matches before, and suddenly you don’t get any more. (Or the ones you get are the “low quality” matches.)
That’s because your profile, Your Majesty, isn’t being shown to people. You are I-N-V-I-S-I-B-L-E.
2. You will not receive any messages back.
Let’s say you had a few conversations with a few people and you stopped getting their messages out of the blue.
They might not get your messages either, no matter how many times you’ve tried to reach them.
Or it may be that your profile has completely disappeared from their matches.
3. You will see almost no profiles.
There is in fact a limit of people you can swipe per day. But this time it’s a different kind of story, isn’t it?
You swipe like you always do, and lately you’ve been running out of ‘profiles’ to swipe real damn fast.
That’s another sign, right there. You are not shown to people and people are not shown to you.
4. “Oops! Something went wrong.”
You will see the message “Oops! Something went wrong” quite often that it starts to get annoying.
Note: Do not confuse it with error codes like error code 5000 or others. Pay attention to the text.
You see it while swiping those few profiles or when there are no more profiles to show.
It’s what gives you that little “glitch” feeling when using the app when you’re locked on Tinder.
Coupled with the low number of likes, matches, and profiles to swipe, this is definitely a big sign pointing to shadowban.
5. They [Tinder Gold subscribers] get zero (or some very few) likes.
You were super happy when you first saw who likes you, but now the story got kind of sad, didn’t it?
Because you don’t get any more likes.
You can’t get likes if people don’t see you. If you’re shadowbanned, you’re invisible, but you don’t know it.
You use the app without being seen by other people.
6. You received an alert from Tinder.
If you’ve violated any of the Tinder community guidelines or have been reported by people, you may receive a warning from Tinder.
Usually it looks like this:
Well, the reason you’re banned in the shadows is, first off, exactly one of the above (you violated the Tinder community guidelines or people reported you).
Let’s assume you haven’t significantly improved your inappropriate behavior after the warning… if they haven’t banned you yet, congratulations on your shadowban.
7. You cannot delete your account.
If you are locked in the shadows, you will encounter difficulties when trying to deactivate your account.
Essentially, Tinder doesn’t want you to bother others, but it’s also Tinder to want you to stick around a little longer to try and do something about this passivity of the app.
To understand clearly, among others like missing profiles to swipe, zero likes, if you are blocked on Tinder, you cannot delete your account.
It can seem like an error when you try to deactivate your account and no matter how hard you try your profile will still be active in the end.
Important Important: If you’re new, Tinder gives you a kind of boost. However, after a while, you won’t get as many matches or people to swipe. Don’t confuse this with a shadowban.
Why am I banned?
It’s not because, “Oh, I’m just unlucky, always have been,” believe me.
There is something you have done with or without knowing you are doing something wrong.
You might not have heard of Tinder etiquette, this is what you should know before you get Tinder.
Here are 6 reasons why you got shadowbanned:
1. You violated Tinder’s Community Guidelines
You haven’t even read them, have you?
Taken from Tinder:
Nudity/Sexual Content
harassment
violence and assault
hate speech
private information
spam
advertising or advertising
prostitution and human trafficking
Deceive
impersonation
minors
2. You swiped right uncontrollably.
It might be detected as a “robotic” move, and then Tinder gets mad at you for not having standards, you know the drill.
3. You sent the same message to many people.
Another ROBOOOTIC MOOOVE! Tinder doesn’t like robots and can be recognized as such if you send the same message to multiple people.
4. You made people spooky.
That’s another thing that will infuriate some Tinder users, and knowing that user experience is one of Tinder’s top priorities will infuriate Tinder, which will then potentially lead to a shadowban, if not a ban.
5. You restarted your account too many times.
It’s scary. Tinder will know you’re up to no good, you’re up to something naughty; and good, act.
6. You have been reported (several times).
Tinder won’t keep anyone who bothers its users…
Being reported is an indicator that you are harassing others by engaging in inappropriate behavior through your actions on Tinder.
You might be warned. Maybe you just get banned. You could get a shadowban.
Moral of the story, be nice.
How long does a Tinder shadowban last?
Word has gotten around about Tinder’s 3-month rule.
It is based on Tinder deleting your data from their system after 3 months of account deletion.
I’ve seen people wait 3 months because of this:
“…we are implementing a security retention window of three months after account deletion. During this period, the account information will be preserved, although of course the account will no longer be visible on the Services.”
Acquired from Tinder.
This is also an account deletion. That means waiting three months won’t work unless you delete your current Tinder account.
In summary, a Tinder shadowban lasts until you completely delete your account.
That means you can’t get rid of a Tinder shadowban unless you open a brand new account (we’ll talk about that in detail later in this article).
That means it will last forever!
How do I remove Tinder Shadowban?
Tinder Shadowban doesn’t just go away.
I tried, I was there, I made it. Follow me.
Wait three months and think that Tinder will delete your data and will not remember that you will not work.
You must open a completely new account.
Here are 6 steps on how to do it right:
1. Get rid of your current Tinder account:
Settings > App settings > Delete account
Some people faced difficulties while trying to delete their Tinder accounts.
You can also have a look at the account deletion issue. Tinder recommends you to do this if you have such problems.
On the other hand, find a way to get rid of it completely. Remove as much information and photos as possible. You must delete it!
2. Uninstall Tinder.
You need to uninstall it from your phone so you can prepare for a fresh start in the app.
3. Disconnect Tinder from Facebook.
Facebook > Settings > Apps & Websites > Tinder > Remove App
4. New phone number, Facebook/email, account/Apple ID, IP address, bank details (if you want to use premium subscriptions, and new device.
Tinder remembers you. For this reason, when opening a new account, you cannot use anything to indicate that it is you.
Tinder also locks your device, so we need everything new! Nothing you used in your previous account, not even pictures!
Note: About the IP address, unplug your internet router, wait a minute, plug it back in and you have a brand new IP address.
About the phone number: There are virtual phone numbers that you can use to open a new Tinder account, which is easier than buying a new SIM card and is guaranteed to remove the shadowban.
4. Download Tinder with your new Apple ID/Google Play account and IP address.
It is very important that there is no trace of an old Shadowbanned user (you).
You want to renew everything you used on your previous Tinder account.
5. Open your new Tinder account.
Note: DO NOT use your old photos, old social media (that’s why you need to open a new Facebook/Instagram/Spotify account) or old bank details that you used to pay for something on Tinder!
This time you want to read the Tinder guide and avoid being shadowbanned again.
If you feel this is too much hassle, then consider getting other dating apps because there is no other way to go back to Tinder.
In fact, it just might be! Check out 8 Ways to Use Tinder Discreetly Without an Account to learn the details.
What is the difference between being banned and shadowbanned on Tinder?
Get to know “ban”. Visible, so much so that even your eyes sting a little when you see “him”.
You can no longer access your account… matches, likes, conversations, gone. Goodbye.
Essentially, a Tinder ban is Tinder’s method of removing you from the app so that you can no longer use it.
Now I want you to hit Shadowban:
Close up of blank picture frame on wall with copy space
They won’t let you know, so we haven’t met him yet. Makes angry too.
Simply put, a shadowban is a form of ban, but instead of being “banned” from the app entirely, you can still use Tinder.
You can use the app (in a messed up way), it seems kind of normal, then finally smell the fishiness. No matches, no likes, no messages, etc.
It’s like sitting alone in a dusty, quiet room.
Why don’t you just block me?
Well, you pay for the premium subscriptions and when you find out that Tinder has banned you, you get angry and bang hard to cancel any of the subscriptions you paid for!
Of course they will not ban you!
If you don’t pay for any of the subscriptions, you’ll see you’re not getting any matches, feel down and think about getting Tinder Gold while you’re hopeful and think it will solve your “little problem”. .
You’ll stick around enough to think your account is fine, you just need a little boost from premium subscriptions.
Banning you would mean you have no opportunities to spot a problem and pay to fix it. This is one of the reasons why you get shadowban instead of ban.
Extra: How not to get banned?
Ok, besides reading and following the Tinder community guidelines you MUST, there are a few other things you can do:
Create a decent profile with a decent, non-offensive bio, photos, and anthem. open lines. Make her irresistible. Be active. Don’t ghost your matches! What to say on Tinder Keep the conversations going. Be nice enough not to be reported. Don’t swipe right on each person and don’t be too picky.
In order! If you didn’t get the lesson, remember:
When you’re old you’ll look back and regret spending so much time opening new accounts and resetting your internet router… Take it easy on the internet, at least be responsible.
Save yourself time and effort and just follow the guidelines!
sincerely,
liam
Can you tell if someone has been active on Tinder?
Tinder does have a green dot feature that shows you that a user was “Recently Active” on the app — swiping, chatting, refreshing the profile, you name it — in the last 24 hours.
Does Tinder Show Inactive Profiles? %
Not only do you need to make sure you’re not wasting your time on the person you’re talking to, or alternatively swipe right on inactive profiles, you might be curious as to how you can find someone on Tinder because of your committed long-term relationship and suspect that your partner is cheating on you. A friend of mine recently saw a dating app appear on her boyfriend’s screen when he accidentally swiped “recently deleted apps.”
Whether you’re interested in this topic because you don’t want to swipe straight to ghostly profiles, or you just can’t bring yourself to ask your partner what’s going on, here are your best shots for finding out if someone is is on Tinder.
Use Tinder’s recently active feature
Shutterstock
Sorry to be such a downer, but the truth is Tinder doesn’t tell you exactly when profiles were last active. “The only way to find out if someone you know is on Tinder is if you stumbled across their profile,” a Tinder spokesperson told Elite Daily.
This is probably for your own good. Tinder had that nagging feature I mentioned back in 2014 that would tell you exactly when a match was last active? That’s long gone. I promise you I wouldn’t have been overly paranoid if I hadn’t been able to “verify” the person I’ve already dated in real life. Without that paranoia, I might have been a more normal, open date. Now there’s no way to sneak into the app and find out exactly when someone was last on, except in one case.
Tinder has a green dot feature that lets you know that a user has been “recently active” — swipe, chat, update profile, whatever — in the last 24 hours on the app. If you pay for Tinder Gold and Platinum, you have access to this feature and can see who has a green dot in your like grid.
If you don’t subscribe to the paid options, you’ll see the green dot, but the photos in your Likes grid will be blurry. The green dot isn’t something to rely on, however — users have the option to turn off their “last active” status in the app’s settings, according to Tinder, if they “prefer to maintain [a] touch of mystery.” .
If you pay for the premium subscriptions, you also have access to Tinder’s “Control Who You See” curation option in Settings. So if you want to make sure you’re not swiping through inactive profiles and wasting your time, you can change the Control Who You See section to Recently Active. After that, the algorithm gives priority to showing the profiles of those who have recently used the app or are also using Tinder at the moment you are.
That being said, you can’t tell exactly if someone you know has used the app recently or when, but you might still have some information to go from.
If you see them on Tinder, they’re at least somewhat active
While you can’t tell when someone was last active, except maybe in the last 24 hours, seeing their profile on the app is a pretty good indication that the profile is being used.
A TikTok by Canadian user @trinniiitty, which now has over 2.5 million views, went viral in 2020 after he posted a “PSA” claiming that Tinder only shows users who were in the app were. While Tinder has confirmed that it only circulates active profiles, it hasn’t been fully transparent as to what timeframe the algorithm is actually “active” – so we can only speculate for now. Long story short, if you see a person on Tinder’s profiles, they’re most likely actively using the app.
So when you or your friend sees that guy or girl you’ve dated or are fully committed to on the app, maybe it’s time to have a little chat. And when they swear it’s “just an old profile,” you know the evidence is being stacked against them straight from Tinder HQ. And remember, there’s no harm in having screenshots when it comes to talking about cheating.
“You know that if you ask them, chances are they’re lying, unless you catch them in the act — and even then, they can lie,” said Trina Leckie, breakup coach and Breakup BOOST host Podcasts, previously told Elite Daily, “Don’t expect people who are living a lie to tell you the truth.”
Check if they have updated their Tinder profile
Shutterstock
If you really want to make sure that any profile you or your friend sees on Tinder is actively being used, then the last option is to switch to full-fledged, old-fashioned social media stalker detection mode.
To see if someone has been on the app recently, you can start by checking the pictures on their profile and seeing if any of them have changed since you last saw them or if they were taken recently . To be sure, you can cross-reference them with their other social media.
Another method you can use is to check the distance displayed on their profile from time to time. As long as you don’t change your location in your settings, if the distance shown on their profile changes, it means they’ve recently used Tinder from a different location.
Doing any of these things can definitely feel like an extraordinarily creepy move, but if you need to know, you need to know. However, it’s important to remember that a confirmed profile update isn’t necessarily a sign that the person is currently actively looking for someone else.
If you find her* on Tinder, here’s how to find her
If you’re using these tips to make sure you’re not wasting your time with inactive, ghostly profiles, now is the time to keep them in mind and open up Tinder — and good luck swiping. On the other hand, if you’re concerned that the person you’re seeing (exclusively or not) is still using the app while you’re dealing with you, you really should bring that up in the conversation.
The main problem here is that you don’t trust your partner. If you’re considering going all out on Tinder stalking, you should also consider asking them directly if they’re cheating. It’s no fun staying in a relationship where you’re constantly worried about being cheated on.
“While hearing the truth can be painful, you’d rather know,” Kerri-Anne Brown, licensed mental health counselor and founder of Healing with Wisdom, told Elite Daily. “Knowledge is what can allow for repair and growth should you choose to remain in the relationship and rebuild with your partner. Even if you do decide to end things, you’ll likely feel empowered to make a decision that you think is best for you and not grope in the dark.”
Even if you’re not in a real relationship yet, instead of scouring the internet for clues where I once mistook someone’s Venmo fee for their aunt for a new girlfriend (not proud), just admit you want more of of the person you are dating than you are currently getting.
Either way, you deserve to know what the other person’s intentions are. Knowing the truth now will be a lot less painful than waiting six more months (months that will inevitably be filled with research and paranoia). Trust me I speak from experience.

How long does Tinder show recently active?
Tinder introduced the green dot as a way of demonstrating if a user has been recently active or not. If the user has a green dot next to their name, it means they have been online and active in the last 24 hours. This can be helpful to someone wanting to strike up a conversation with recently active users.

Here’s everything you need to know about Tinder’s green dot.
Tinder introduced the green dot to show whether the user was recently active or not.
What does the green Tinder dot mean?
Tinder introduced the green dot to show whether a user was recently active or not.
If the user has a green dot next to their name, it means they’ve been online and active in the last 24 hours.
This can be useful for someone who wants to start a conversation with recently active users.
Focusing on users who have been active recently could improve the chances of finding someone actually looking for dates instead of someone wiping the couch late at night.
Who can see the green dot?
The green dot is only available to users who are signed in to either Tinder Gold or Tinder Platinum.
If a user does not subscribe to a Tinder premium service, they can see the green dot, but the profile picture of the person who likes them will be blurry
How do I sign up for Tinder Gold and Platinum?
Tinder Gold and Platinum are the paid subscription models for dating apps.
Tinder Gold grants users the ability to see other users’ profiles who have liked them, allowing users to decide whether to swipe left or right before matching.
Tinder Gold users also get new top picks every day and get unlimited profile likes and five super likes per day.
Tinder Platinum services allow users to get unlimited likes, the ability to notify potential dates before they are matched, and prioritize their likes over other people’s.
To sign up for Tinder Gold or Platinum, users must first go to the Tinder app.
Once logged in, they need to go to the settings menu, which is the gear icon in the top menu bar of the mobile app.
There are then two options, either “Get Tinder Gold” or “Get Tinder Platinum”. Users can select the option they want and will then be prompted to enter bank details or pay through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Once you sign up, the first subscription fee will be debited from the user’s bank account within 24 hours.
Can I turn off the Last Active status?
Yes.
If users prefer to remain mysterious, they can choose not to share their recently active status in the app’s settings.
To do this, users must first open the Tinder app.
Once inside, go to the settings menu, which is the gear icon on the mobile app’s top menu bar.
In Settings, scroll about halfway down the page and click the Recently Active Status menu button.
In this menu there is an option to turn on or off the recently active notification.
Does deleting Tinder delete your profile?
Just deleting the Tinder app from your phone is not enough to get rid of your profile. To take it down, you need to log into the app and visit Settings. Then select “App Settings” and scroll down to “Delete Account.” Once you’ve done this, the app will give you an “Account successfully deleted” message.
Does Tinder Show Inactive Profiles? %
So you have found love and need to delete your online dating profile(s). You could just delete your dating apps or stop visiting them. But leaving an unused online dating profile lying around could lead to unnecessary drama if, say, someone who knows you IRL comes across your profile and assumes that you are either: a.) cheating on your significant other, or b. ) you broke up .
Of course, there are different levels of “still being on a dating app.”
“‘Your girl or guy actually messaged me’ — that’s one thing,” says Jozen Cummings, blog creator UntilIGetMarried.com. “But when it says, ‘I was flipping through Tinder and I happened to see this person you’ve been dating for three months,’ that’s different.”
For some, deactivating their dating profile is a big deal. Julie Spira, CEO of CyberDatingExpert.com, calls this “the unplugging party” when a couple who met online ceremonially ditch the profiles that brought them together.
advertisement
Spira, who started dating online with Love@AOL more than 20 years ago, has historically hosted these unplugging parties for many clients. “It’s a digital moment that you want to enjoy,” she says.
However, figuring out how to delete your dating profiles is not always that easy. Spira cites recent research that around 40 percent of Tinder users are not single. She often gets emails from appointments with subject lines like, “Help! I found my friend on Tinder!” It’s possible these friends are looking for other options. Or they’re just too lazy to properly deactivate their accounts — especially during the blissful honeymoon of a new relationship.
If you’re ready to ditch your dating profile, here’s a simple guide.
Tinder
Deleting the Tinder app from your phone is not enough to get rid of your profile. To remove it, you need to log into the app and go to the settings. Then select “App Settings” and scroll down to “Delete Account”. Once you have done this, the app will show you the message “Account deleted successfully”.
This means you will lose all your messages and matches. However, if you decide to start swiping again, you can easily create another profile by logging in again with your Facebook account.

There are a few steps you need to go through, so make sure you get to the confirmation page where you’ll find a “Hide Profile/Deactivate My Account” link. After you click this link, no one but you can see your account – in case you decide to use it again. The website will then send you two emails confirming first the cancellation of your subscription and then the deactivation of your account.

Why is my Tinder account scheduled for deletion?

Does Tinder Show Inactive Profiles? %
I probably spent at least an hour a day swiping, messaging, and connecting. It felt like the world’s least fun game, but one I had to play if I wanted any semblance of a happy ending (or if I ever wanted to have sex again, real talk).
I had what felt like a billion dates with a billion different people. A handful of these people were interesting. Most weren’t. Regardless of the person, the place, the conversation, there was never a second date during this stretch. Tired of stealing and small talk and men who drank too much and asked too few questions, dating fatigue set in. Quickly.
When I discovered in early 2017 that my ex was dating someone new (friends don’t let friends stalk their ex’s Instagram!), it gave me a renewed burst of enthusiasm for my hateful rotation of dating apps, but when summer rolled around I was done. Done done done. I would rather have eaten a bowl of nails than ever swipe left or right again.
I deleted all dating apps from my phone and embraced my new single life without an app. “Maybe I’ll never find love,” I thought to myself. “But if the compromise never ends in a lousy first date again, I’ll be 100% happy with that outcome.” I swam and biked and danced and read and wrote. I was freed from the scourge of Tinder! Free from small talk and awkwardness and overly drunk pick-up lines and radio silence and crushing, crushing boredom.
Luckily, I met someone amazing in early 2018 and haven’t thought about Tinder since.
That is, until I received a somewhat shocking email in my inbox earlier this month:
How can you see when someone was last active on Tinder 2021?
Now, there’s no way to creep on the app and find out exactly when someone was last on, except in one case.

Tinder reveals only active profiles show up as potential matches
Spotted someone’s profile that shouldn’t be on the app? (Image: SOPA Images)
They say removing your dating app is a sign you’re ready to settle down.
But has your partner actually gotten rid of their Tinder, Hinge, or Grindr and so on?
After a TikTokker went viral for claiming that Tinder only shows profiles that were active in the last seven days, we spoke to the app folks to find out what the real deal is.
Content creator Trinity posted a video stating that if someone you know gets the person you’re dating as a potential match, it means they’ve been active on the app for the past week was.
Even though they claim it’s an old profile, Tinder confirmed to Metro.co.uk that it does show you “active” profiles as potential matches, although it didn’t confirm if seven days was the measure of activity.
Tinder is spreading active profiles to prevent you from matching up with someone who hasn’t opened their app in months and to keep you from wondering what could have been.
In Trinity’s video, which has been viewed more than four million times, she said: “Just a [public announcement] when they’re like, ‘Oh yeah that’s an old Tinder account you saw, I have the app in mind long time deleted”.
“Tinder will only show profiles that have been active within seven days.”
Some followers couldn’t believe it, while others felt vindicated.
One person wrote: “This is how my friend got arrested,” while another wrote: “And this is where I thought I was going insane. This boy had the audacity to lie straight to my face.
Another woman wrote, “My boyfriend found my ex on Tinder and I believed him when he said it was an old account.”
One person joked, “Where was all this information when I was in a relationship six months ago?”
TikTokker Trinity went viral for telling users that Tinder only distributes active profiles (Image: @Trinniiitty/Tiktok)
Tinder confirmed that it wants users to have an optimal experience, which means showing them profiles that are actively using the app.
It wrote in a blog post: “We prioritize potential matches that are active and active at the same time. We don’t want to waste your time showing you profiles of inactive members. We want you to chat and meet with IRL. And there is nothing better than matching and starting a conversation straight away.”
However, inactive profiles will not be deleted and will still circulate and occasionally show up in people’s potential matches.
However, this usually happens when the swiper has exhausted many matches or when their search criteria match those of the inactive person.
So if you’ve decided to go exclusive and your partner’s profile is popping up in a few places, maybe it’s time for a chat.

How to Delete Tinder Account in 2022: Visual Guide
Deleting the app will not delete your account
Unlike most mobile apps, this dating app won’t let you go easily. Deleting the Tinder app from your device does not mean that you have deleted your account. Your profile remains active, along with all of your pictures, matches, and messages. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as you can jump back into the game at any time. All you have to do is download the app again and log in.
However, if you want to opt out, leaving your profile open can cause problems. If you’re dating or happily married, your partner or their friend might accidentally find you on the platform and ask, “Why are you still on Tinder?” Are you looking for someone else?”. Your data could also remain vulnerable in their system.
How to delete a Tinder account
Open the app and tap on your profile icon in the top left corner of the screen. Then click Settings. Scroll down until you reach the end. Click Delete Account. Here you can choose to deactivate or permanently delete your account. Select Delete my account. You must tell Tinder your reason for leaving. Before permanently deleting your account, Tinder will also ask you if you want to delete your account or just hide it. Choose Delete.
Congratulations! Your account has been successfully deleted.
Note that deleting your account will not cancel your Tinder Plus subscription. To do this, you need to visit the App Store or the Google Play Store.
How to delete Tinder without the app
You can delete your Tinder account through browser website. This can be useful if your phone isn’t accessible or if you’re temporarily unable to sign in to the app.
Once you’ve opened the Tinder homepage in your favorite browser, you can log in and click on My Profile. Go to your account settings and select delete account. job done!
How long does your Tinder stay active after you delete it?
If you have deleted the app, your profile will still exist online. However, the less you use Tinder, the less you appear in people’s search engines. According to Tinder, if your account has been inactive for more than 7 days, you won’t be visible at all.
However, if you actually delete your account, your profile will be removed entirely. If you download the app and create a new account, you are now starting from scratch.
Can you recover a deleted Tinder account?
The simple answer is no. Unlike other sites that give you a “cooling off” period to change your mind, Tinder will permanently delete your profile if you ask.
You can open a new account at any time, but you cannot restore your old matches. Instead, you have to fill in all your details, upload photos and start over.
Why should you delete Tinder?
Online dating is not only full of hopeless romantics, but also hackers and scammers. Tinder threats lurk around every corner:
catfish fishing
Some users will try to trick you into believing that they are someone they are not. They could steal other users’ photos and personal information to create fake accounts. If you notice that someone’s profile and communications seem too good to be true, you may be speaking to a scammer.
Such users might later try to convince you to transfer money, buy them gifts, or click suspicious links that hide malware. They could also ask you to send them risky photos that they could later use to blackmail you, or they could gather enough information to steal your identity.
Tinder Bots
Similar to catfishing, hackers use fake profiles to set up Tinder bots. Bots require less maintenance and can trick multiple people at once. You can recognize a Tinder bot by its impeccable profile, quick response time, and sometimes random answers that don’t seem to relate to your questions.
The hackers behind such profiles will also try to trick you into clicking on suspicious links, sending them money or sending them provocative photos. However, if you don’t respond to their requests, they will usually stop messaging you.
phishing
Hackers also use Tinder for their phishing campaigns. They may notice your profile, get your contact information, and then send you an email asking you to verify your account details or click on malicious links. You might even be asked to confirm your payment details, which Tinder would never ask if you’re using a free version of the app.
Other social media platforms
From cyberstalking to simpler privacy concerns, you might want to check out your other social media platforms as well. It may be a good idea to delete Facebook, Messenger, or Snapchat and adjust your settings. Check out our social media privacy tips for some ideas.

Does Tinder show inactive profiles?
To find someone directly on Tinder… to learn more about Tinder and inactive profiles, read on…
Tinder is hot
Tinder is one of the hottest dating apps out there right now, with over 1.6 billion swipes made every day around the world. It works by showing singles (or scammers!) potential matches one at a time. It will display name, age, distance and a series of images selected by the user.
When other Tinder users are within the distance you select and have the same sexual orientation; They will be shown as a potential match. But does Tinder only show active users?
Loud Tinder; They have over 50 million users and 10 million are active daily users. So what happens to the inactive users?
Does Tinder show inactive profiles?
The quick answer is yes. But it’s a little complicated. There are many factors that affect Tinder’s algorithms. These help reduce the likelihood that you’ll see inactive users.
It’s difficult to give a definitive answer as to how the algorithms work. None of this information is published by Tinder. But there are many people online who are determined to find out everything. Rest assured they’ve looked at what happens to inactive profiles.
If you’ve been inactive for a while and are curious if inactive users still show up; Below is all the information we could find on the subject.
place of games
Have you ever been on vacation or visited another city and decided to do some swiping? You’ll find that you keep getting matches from there. even after you’re gone Or you may have experienced where you match someone only to find out later they live 100 miles away! This suggests that profiles remain visible for quite a long time. This also happens after inactivity.
The good news is that over time you will become less and less visible in this area until you drop out completely.
You become less visible
Tinder’s model is built on delivering results to people. That’s why they are one of the most popular dating apps out there. It is in their best interest to ensure active users are shown first. This is important as they are much more likely to post back and get matches. After all, no one is going to want to stick around and pay for premium features if they only get inactive profiles.
Inactive Tinder users are therefore sent to the bottom of the stack, making them far less likely to be seen by active Tinder users. The most likely way for an inactive user to appear on someone else’s screen is when they’ve been swiping a lot and just don’t have any active users left to view. Think of it like a deck of cards with the most active users at the top. The more you throw away, the closer you get to the bottom of the stack where the inactive users lie.
If I delete the Tinder app, will I still show up?
Yes, they will still appear as deleting the app will not delete your account. They just fall into the pile of Tinder’s inactive users. They still show up to people who venture deep into their potential matches.
Does Deleting Tinder App Delete Your Account?
If you delete Tinder, does it delete your profile? The answer is no. Your profile remains exactly as you left it. Just deleting the app from your phone will give you full speed back to the app should you decide to continue your search for online partners.
To permanently delete your profile, you need to manually delete your Tinder account. If you perform this action, your profile will no longer be visible to other Tinder users and it will simply no longer exist. If you want to keep using Tinder, you’ll have to rebuild everything.
How to know if someone deleted their Tinder?
There are a few reasons you might want to know if someone has deleted their Tinder. Maybe you are curious if your partner is still in the app and if he is active? Or you found the perfect person that you had great interactions with, but one day they miraculously disappear.
The first sign if it’s a match – get out of your matches. When a user deletes their user account, everything is deleted from the system – their pictures, location and matches! But it’s quite difficult to say this on your own as your match may just not have reached you…
So does Tinder show inactive profiles?
Yes, and hopefully all of your questions about inactive Tinder users are now answered. Remember, if you never want to be seen on Tinder again, you need to delete your account!
