The story goes that the Kamikaze was developed in Japan at a US naval base sometime after World War II. As vodka became the liquor of choice for many drinkers in the 1970s and 1980s, the shot became a staple in US bars and remains a favorite to this day. There are also colorful kamikazes and quick ways to give it a flavor boost. The shot even inspired the popular Kamikaze cocktail, which is essentially the same drink in a cocktail glass and with more lime juice.
If you like, you can use the lime slice like the lime or lemon served with a tequila shot. After drinking, take a bite of the wedge to add even more wrinkles to the experience.

What does Midori taste like?
What does Midori taste like? Midori liqueur is very sweet, with a candy-like honeydew melon flavor: think watermelon Jolly Rancher. It’s typically mixed into cocktails instead of drinking it straight.
Burt Reynolds Shot Bundle
Here’s a unique liqueur that tastes as bright as it looks: Midori! This electric green liquor peaked in the 1980s when neon drinks were the norm. But today it’s enjoying a bit of a resurgence: and we think it’s worth adding to your collection. This melon-flavored liqueur tastes a bit like a watermelon Jolly Rancher, but when used properly, it can be downright delicious. Here’s what you should know!
What is Midori?
Midori is a Japanese electric green liqueur flavored with honeydew melon. It was first launched in 1964 under the name Hermes melon liqueur. Upon release in the US in 1978, the name changed to Midori, the Japanese word for green.
Midori became popular in the 1980s, where it was often paired with a sour mix and vodka to create a sugary party drink, the Midori Sour. It got a bit of a bad rap and lost popularity. Today, it’s seen somewhat of a resurgence in cocktails. Use it wisely and it adds a sweet honeydew melon flavor and a nice green color.
How does Midori taste?
Midori liqueur is very sweet, with a candy-like honeydew melon flavor: think watermelon Jolly Rancher. It is usually mixed into cocktails instead of drinking straight.
How much alcohol is in Midori? It’s 21% ABV (alcohol by volume), so it has a relatively low alcohol content. Compare it to 40% ABV for spirits like whiskey, rum, vodka and gin.
Is there a replacement? Midori is a unique liqueur worth discovering. But in a pinch, you can substitute Bol’s green watermelon liqueur.
Why we like it
Midori has a delicious candy-sweet flavor that makes a great cocktail when paired with fresh citrus or other liquors. We love it in a modern Midori Sour.
Confession: We weren’t of drinking age in the 1980s, so we don’t have any of the retro baggage associated with this wildly popular liquor. Though it’s lost popularity since then, we think it deserves a revival.
How much is it?
Compared to other spirits, Midori is reasonably priced. It costs around $12-$13 for a 375ml bottle and around $18-$23 for a 750ml bottle.
The most popular Midori cocktails
Midori is typically used in cocktails, not consumed neat or as a shot. Here are the most popular Midori cocktails:
Japanese Slipper The Japanese slipper was invented in Australia in 1984 by a French bartender. A sales representative brought him a bottle of the new Japanese melon liqueur Midori. He mixed it with lemon juice and Cointreau, an orange liqueur from his native France. It was an instant hit: it’s lemony, smells of melon and is surprisingly well balanced. Get the Midori Sour Recipe This 1980s Midori cocktail is like the beverage equivalent of a melon Jolly Rancher. But it’s not overly sweet: it’s a perfectly sweet cake! This drink was a big hit in the 1980’s and 90’s made with a sour mix, but try our refreshed version of this classic with real lemon and lime. Get Recipe Tokyo Tea Here’s a Midori cocktail that’s a twist on Long Island Iced Tea. Reserve your judgment until you’ve tried this one. This is by no means a low brow drink! It is refreshing, sparkling and full of intriguing flavors with the contrasts of lemon, orange liqueur and light melon. received prescription

What is a lemon candy?
The Lemon Drop is a vodka cocktail made with vodka, lemon juice, orange liqueur and simple syrup. Named after the candy of the same name, it was invented in Henry Africa’s, a San Francisco singles bar, in the 1970s. The drink’s inventor is unknown, but some people credit it to the bar’s founder, Norman Jay Hobday. It is also known as the Lemon Drop Martini.
The Lemon Drop took off and became a cult drink known worldwide. Oprah even called it a favorite after doing it with Rachael Ray on her show in 2006.
Ingredients in a lemon candy recipe
What’s in a Lemon Drop recipe? This drink follows the formula of a classic sour cocktail: liqueur, citrus and orange liqueur. Several classic drinks share the same makeup, from the margarita to the sidecar (and even the cosmo). Here are the ingredients you will need:
vodka
lemon juice
Cointreau or Triple Sec
or Triple Sec Simple Syrup
How to Make a Lemon Drop: Basic Steps!
Essentially a lemon-flavored vodka martini, this drink follows the signature formula of many cocktails: shake and strain! The only tricky parts here? A classic Lemon Drop recipe has a sugar rim and a lemon twist. How to make a Lemon Drop:
Make the sugar rim: Cut a notch in a lemon slice, then run the lemon around the rim of a martini glass. Dip the edge of the rim in a plate of finest sugar. Make the lemon twist: Cut the lemon widthwise into a circle. Run a paring knife around the edge to remove the skin, slicing away as much of the pulp as possible. (You can remove the fruit and set aside.) Cut the remaining circle of peel so that it becomes one long strip. Twist it and hold it for a few seconds until the shape sticks. To see photos go to How to Make a Lemon Twist! Shake and Strain: In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, lemon juice, Cointreau and simple syrup. Add ice, shake cold, then strain into glass.
Orange Liqueur: Cointreau vs. Triple Sec
The best thing about this Lemon Drop recipe? The orange liqueur! It adds a bright sweetness and the subtle citrus nuance complements the lemon perfectly. Don’t think of a replacement! We like to use Cointreau as our orange liqueur of choice, but Triple Sec works too. Here’s what you should know about Cointreau vs Triple Sec:
Cointreau is a premium orange liqueur with a distinctive orange perfume taste. It has a refined flavor with notes of oak and vanilla. It’s our favorite orange liqueur, especially in a margarita.
is a premium orange liqueur with a distinctive orange perfume taste. It has a refined flavor with notes of oak and vanilla. It’s our favorite orange liqueur, especially in a margarita. Triple Sec has a slightly less refined flavor than Cointreau and is less expensive. It has a very simple essence of orange, almost like orange vodka. Either one works here!

Nothing gets a party started like a tray of shooters. But let’s face it: strong drinks often taste, well, strong.
Luckily for you, here is a list of kickass shots that come off very easily. If you try them all, you have to hide the car keys and sleep on your friend’s floor.
A quick note: each of these recipes is for one shot unless otherwise noted. The best way to make these for parties is to scale up the ingredients (for example, with the Bazooka Joe, you could use a cup of each ingredient) and chill them all at once in the mixing glass. Then pour a shot’s worth into each person’s drink.
You can also skip the ice for a party and just prepare a pitcher of the drink ahead of time and keep it in the fridge.
Last but not least, the shooters that include juice can also be enjoyed as a cocktail – just make sure to enjoy them in moderation!

A deliciously fruity and flavorful Mexican candy shot recipe with a spicy kick.
Given our love of fruity drinks and fun cocktails, we thought these Mexican Candy Shots would be the ultimate refreshing and fun shots to try!
And if you’ve ever eaten Mexican sweets, you know they have an explosion of sweet and slightly tangy flavors and ingredients.
So it’s the perfect inspiration for this tequila shot recipe (although you can consume it in a larger cocktail version).
What is mexican candy?
Mexican candies are characterized by a combination of sweet, fruity flavors (usually from mango, strawberry, or watermelon) and sour and tangy flavors (usually from tamarind, grapefruit, and lime).
Known as the Mexican lollipop, it’s a hard candy dusted with chilli powder.
Ingredients needed for a Mexican Candy Shot
Tequila – We used silver tequila, but other types will work. Silver tequila is clear and is most commonly used for mixing cocktails like skinny margaritas and blue bike recipes.
Watermelon Juice – Fresh is always best, but bottled juice is fine. You can substitute mango or grapefruit juice for the watermelon juice. Both versions are equally delicious!
Tabasco or any hot hot sauce
Lime Juice – Substitute grapefruit or lemon juice if you want to play around with the recipe.
Lime Wheel – For garnish
Granulated Sugar, Lime Zest, and Chili Powder — For our sweet Tajín-inspired rim. Tajín is a Mexican spice mix, and we’ll show you how to make our sweet version, which balances the shot’s acidity.
How to Prepare Mexican Candy Shots To prepare your shot glass: 1 — In a small bowl, combine sugar, chilli powder, and lime zest to make your sweet tajín mix. 2 — Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass. This will help the sweet tajín mix stick to the glass. 3 — Dip the shot glass in the sweet tajín mixture to decorate the rim. To make your shot: 1 — In a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, mix the watermelon juice, silver tequila, lime juice, and Tabasco sauce. Shake well until the shaker gets cold. 2 — Strain the mixture into the shot glass. 3 — Garnish with a lime wheel.
— Play with the ratio of fruit juice and tequila to suit your taste. In our case, we personally prefer 1 part tequila to 2-3 parts fruit juice.
— If your fruit isn’t ripe yet, add more sugar or even a dash or two of simple syrup to the mixture.

What alcohol is in a duck fart shot?
A Duck Fart is a layered shot with Kahlua, Bailey’s Irish Cream and whiskey. What is this? The Kahlua is the bottom layer, the Bailey’s floats on top of the Kahlua for the middle layer and then a good amount of whiskey gets poured on top of the Bailey’s.

Once you laugh at the name, you’ll love the taste of this Duck Fart Shot! It’s fun to make and even more fun to drink!
I drank it for the first time at a friend’s house, I had heard of them but hadn’t had one yet…
A duck fart is a layered shot made with Kahlua, Bailey’s Irish Cream, and whiskey.
The Kahlua is the bottom layer, the Bailey’s floats on top of the Kahlua for the middle layer and then a good amount of whiskey is poured onto the Bailey’s.
Traditionally, the whiskey in a Duck Fart Shot is Crown Royal, but grab whatever whiskey you have. As you can see from the video I had a bottle of Evan Williams on hand so I used that.
Do it with the type of whiskey you enjoy drinking, that’s the most important thing.
Why is it called Duck Fart Shot?
Good question, one I’ll try to answer for you!
They say the duck fart shot is to Alaska what the mai tai is to Hawaii or the margarita is to Mexico.
Said to have been created on a slow night in an Alaskan bar when the bartender and an elderly woman were testing recipes. The woman here drank a few of these and then came up with the name “duck fart”.
The rest of the story goes that the women had some, well, flatulence about them, which she was quite vocal about. Sooooo, you can imagine the rest.
But I promise you, the Duck Fart Shot is way tastier than the vision I just gave you, you will make this for all your friends and they will all ask for the recipe.
I love serving up layered shots around the holiday season, like these Layered Candy Cane Shots! Presentation here is key, especially around the holidays.
And then we can move on to the dessert cocktails – you know I love a good shot recipe even for dessert like these Black and White Cookie Shots, they’re one of my favorites.
How do you make a duck fart drink?
Here’s how easy that will be. Start by pouring Kahlua into the bottom of your shot glass.
Now slowly add a layer of Bailey’s and pour over the back of a spoon to create the middle layer.
Next comes the whiskey! Use the spoon method just like the last layer… you’re almost there!
Watch the video at the beginning or end of the post here to see how you can easily layer these shots like a boss!
And finally, there is no sip for this shot! You have to shoot it because it’s layered.
I know you all shot booze out there…don’t do it. This shot really tastes better when you drink it all at once, allowing all the flavors to blend together.
Some people tell me they don’t like whiskey – like they do at all. But now they’re just buying it to do those duck fart shots.
Whiskey companies should pay me for this recipe because all the sales I make for them… all the sales.
Believe me, these Duck Fart Shots taste so much better than the name sounds, try them tonight and you’ll see!
Check out my crazy layering skills in our short video… because you can too!

What alcohol is in a Long Island?
A Long Island iced tea or Long Island ice tea is a type of cocktail typically made with vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin, and a splash of cola, which gives the drink the same amber hue as iced tea. The Long Island iced tea was named for its visual resemblance to non-alcoholic iced tea.
Burt Reynolds Shot Bundle
A Long Island iced tea or Long Island iced tea is a type of cocktail typically made with vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin, and a squirt of cola, giving the drink the same amber hue as iced tea.[ 1 ]
The drink has a much higher alcohol concentration (about 22 percent)[2] than most highball drinks due to the relatively small amount of mixer.
origin [edit]
There are two competing origin histories for Long Island iced tea, one from Long Island, Tennessee and one from Long Island, New York.[3]
Robert “Rosebud” Butt claims to have invented Long Island iced tea as an entry in a competition to create a new triple sec mixed drink in 1972 while working at the Oak Beach Inn on Long Island, New York. 4][5][6]
A slightly different drink is said to have been invented in the 1920s during Prohibition in the United States by an “Old Man Bishop” in a local community called Long Island in Kingsport, Tennessee. The drink was then tweaked by Ransom Bishop, son of Old Man Bishop, by adding cola, lemon and lime. The old man’s version contained whiskey, maple syrup, varying amounts of the five liquors, and no triple sec, rather than the modern version featuring cola and five equal portions of the five liquors. It was prepared as follows:[3]
Squeeze 1 ⁄ 2 a fresh lemon and 1 ⁄ 2 a fresh lime into a 470 ml (16 US fl oz) glass.
one fresh lemon and one fresh lime in a 16 US fl oz (470 ml) glass. 1 ⁄ 2 US fl oz (15 ml) rum, 1 ⁄ 2 oz. Gin, 1 ⁄ 2 oz Tequila, 1 US fl oz (30 ml) Vodka, 1 oz. whiskey and 1 ⁄ 2 oz. maple syrup
US fl oz (15 ml) Rum, oz. Gin, oz Tequila, 1 US fl oz (30 ml) Vodka, 1 oz. whiskey and oz. Mix the maple syrup, then add 120 ml of cola
While some sources say there was a recipe for Long Island iced tea in the 1961 edition of Betty Crocker’s New Picture Cook Book,[2] no such recipe is actually found there.[8]
Analysis [edit]
The cocktail has been criticized for its large number of ingredients, making it awkward to prepare in busy bars.[9] It is considered a favorite of college students in the United States, and thus has negative connotations as “an act of mixology atrocity favored by college students and spendthrifts,” as one food critic put it.[10]
The drink is a polarizing choice among bartenders, with some favoring the drink and others disliking it.[11] However, the variety of spirits needed to make the drink also means that you can make many other types of cocktails once you have the ingredients for a Long Island.[12]
The taste of the cocktail was described as “bright and refreshing”.[13] It is easy to drink,[2] making it “dangerously intoxicated.”[14]
Recipes and variations[ edit ]
The International Bartenders Association (IBA) recipe calls for equal parts vodka, tequila, white rum, Cointreau, gin, 2 parts lemon juice, 1+1⁄3 syrup with cola. After gentle stirring, the drink can also be garnished with a lemon slice.[1] Robert Butt’s recipe uses a sour mix instead of lemon juice and plain syrup, and he has stated that only a small amount of cola is used to add color. A more complex recipe published by The New York Times differs from the IBA recipe by using maple syrup instead of plain syrup, using both lemon and lime juice, and adding salt.
However, due to the cocktail’s popularity and the large number of ingredients that can be substituted for alternatives, many similar cocktails exist.[2][5] Some variations include:
Adios Motherfucker or AMF (also known as the Boston Tea Party) is considered a variation on the Long Island Iced Tea, with Blue Curaçao replacing the Triple Sec and Lemon-Limone Soda replacing the Coke. [2]
or (aka ) is considered a variation on Long Island Iced Tea, with Blue Curaçao replacing triple sec and lemon-lime soda replacing cola. What is Midori made of?
Midori was launched in 1964 under the name Hermes melon liqueur. It was developed by Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory Japanese Whisky, and is produced and available exclusively in Japan.
The word Midori roughly translates to “green” in Japanese, and it was an apt name for the rebranded liquor when it debuted on the world market. Its introduction to the United States in 1978 was marked by a famous party at New York’s Studio 54 nightclub. It wasn’t long before it became the green ingredient of choice in bars worldwide, finding its way into countless sweet and colorful cocktails and shots .
Today, the production of the famous green liqueur is a global affair. Most of the world’s Midori has been made in Mexico since 1987, and production in France began in 2003 to cover the European market. The melons continue to be sourced and processed there in Japan, known for growing some of the finest and most expensive melons in the world.
Midori is flavored with two types of melon:
Yubari King Melon: Often touted as the most expensive fruit, the Yubari melon is a cross between two cantaloupe varieties and is grown near Yubari City in Japan. It has a juicy sweetness and orange flesh.
Often touted as the most expensive fruit, the Yubari melon is a cross between two cantaloupe varieties and is grown near Yubari City in Japan. It has a juicy sweetness and orange flesh. Muskmelon: The muskmelons used to make Midori are grown in the Japanese provinces of Aichi and Shizuoka. Another high-quality melon, the juicy fruit is known for its sweetness and green flesh, which inspired Midori’s color.
To produce Midori, a neutral spirit base is enriched with yubari and musk melon in Japan. The base spirit is then shipped to Mexico and France for refinement. Before bottling, the melon brandy is blended with cognac and sugar; Food coloring gives it that distinctive green color
The formula for Midori has changed over time. In the 2000s, the brand tried to accommodate bartenders’ requests for a less sweet liqueur by reducing the sugar. The alcohol content has also decreased and is now 20 percent alcohol by volume (40 proof).
How does Midori taste?
Midori tastes like a very sweet melon. The specific melon variety doesn’t really stand out; It’s more of a melon blend that some people compare to honeydew melon and muskmelon. Midori has a candy-like sweetness and a lingering melon flavor in the surprisingly slightly dry finish.
How to drink Midori
For most people’s tastes, Midori is too sweet to drink straight from the bottle. It tastes best slightly diluted and ice cold; a few ice cubes make a pleasantly sweet sip. Better yet, add soda (not too sweet) and serve over ice, as tall or as short as you like.
Designed to shine in cocktails, Midori is a very versatile mixer. Some drink recipes — including the famous Japanese slipper and Midori sour — use it as a base liqueur and mix it with a sweetener and citrus juice. Other recipes pair it with vodka, rum, or tequila, and Midori makes an interesting addition to whiskey cocktails.
Most Midori drinks are simple, using a fruit-on-fruit pairing. It mixes well with apples, citrus, cranberries, raspberries and pineapple, but also gets along well with most other fruits. There are even times when it features in creamy cocktails, and Midori’s color is a popular addition to fun party shooter recipes. Depending on how much Midori is poured and the color of the other mixers, many of these drinks have a certain shade of green.
Cocktail Recipes
You can use Midori in any cocktail that simply calls for a melon liqueur. However, there are Midori-specific drinks created for the liquor.
Where to buy Midori
You should have no problem finding a bottle of Midori among the liqueurs and liqueurs at any liquor store. It’s a premium brand, so do your research when you shop and expect to pay a premium price for a bottle. While other green melon liqueurs are available try to avoid the really cheap ones to save money as they are often artificially flavored and sweet.
How to store Midori
When you bring Midori home, store it like any other liquor. A cool place out of direct sunlight will extend its shelf life and there is no need to refrigerate it. Place the bottle in the freezer for quick chilling if you like, but it’s low proof and has a freezing point of around 22 degrees Fahrenheit. If left in the freezer for too long, it can get mushy. Opened bottles should be sealed tightly, as air can affect flavor, although Midori does not typically spoil for a year or more.

Burton Leon Reynolds Jr. was born on February 11, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan. His mother was a head nurse who encouraged her son to read, and his father was an army colonel who later became chief of police. Reynolds attended Florida State University on a football scholarship. After being drafted by the Baltimore Colts, he suffered a career-ending injury and turned to drama, eventually winning a scholarship to the Hyde Park Playhouse.
television beginnings
In 1957, Reynolds got his big break after appearing in a revival of Mister Roberts at New York City Center and subsequently signing a television contract. With regular roles on Riverboat, Gunsmoke, Hawk and Dan August, he became a familiar face to television audiences. Both handsome and charming, Reynolds increased his popularity in the early 1970s by appearing on numerous talk shows, including Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, on which he became a frequent guest.
Nude centerfold and film success
Although he had received film work in the past, Reynolds’ breakthrough role came in 1972 in the drama Deliverance, starring Jon Voight. The film established Reynolds as both a star and a serious actor. He also became a major sex symbol when he was featured as the first nude male centerfold in Cosmopolitan magazine.
Through the 1970s and early 1980s, Reynolds remained one of Hollywood’s most in-demand superstars, with films ranging from The Longest Yard (1974) and Semi-Tough (1977) to Smokey and the Bandit (1977) and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982). ). Bandit also spawned outings in 1980 and 1983, while Reynolds’ comedic auto racing epic The Cannonball Run (1981), starring Farrah Fawcett and Roger Moore, spawned a 1984 sequel.
Reynolds took on romantic comedies, appearing in Starting Over (1979) with Jill Klayburgh and Candice Bergen and Best Friends with Goldie Hawn and Jessica Tandy. During this time he also starred in a number of projects with friend Dom DeLuise, including The End (1978), which was directed by Reynolds, and the Cannonball films.

TV success with “Evening Shade”
His film career waned in the mid-1980s, and Reynolds returned to the small screen with the popular sitcom Evening Shade, for which he won an Emmy in 1991 and a Golden Globe in 1992. He has also served as a recurring director for the series throughout its run, while working behind the scenes on a number of screen projects over the decade.
In the mid-1990s, Reynolds began his film comeback with his role as a drunken congressman in Striptease (1996), starring Demi Moore. Although the film was a critical failure, with modest box office earnings, Reynolds’ performance garnered widespread praise.
Oscar Nod for “Boogie Nights”
Around this time, Paul Thomas Anderson hired Reynolds to play porn director Jack Horner in the acclaimed film Boogie Nights (1997), for which Reynolds received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor and a Golden Globe. It was later reported that he and Anderson had major conflicts, with Reynolds not caring about the director’s style and approach to filmmaking.
Reynolds also appeared in the 1997 Rowan Atkinson comedy Bean and co-starred in 1999’s Mystery, Alaska. He then starred in the thriller Tempted in 2001 and the bittersweet love story Snapshots the following year.
Recent projects
The actor went on to take on a variety of film roles, including an Adam Sandler remake of The Longest Yard (2005) and a reboot of the popular 1980s show The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). He has also appeared on sitcoms such as The King of Queens and My Name Is Earl and provided the voice for Robot Chicken, American Dad! and Archer.
Reynolds also headlined The Last Movie Star, a role that came close to the aging actor. After premiering at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, it received a wider release the following year.

Burt Reynolds was an American actor, director and voice talent who had a net worth of $3 million at the time of his death in 2018. Burt had an impressive film career spanning several decades that included an Oscar nomination for his role in “Boogie Nights”.
Burt’s net worth was much higher than $3 million at the peak of his career, but unfortunately he suffered from significant financial struggles due to bad investments, divorces and overspending. More details on that later in the article.
Early life
He was born Burton Leon Reynolds, Jr. on February 11, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan. He attended Florida State University on a football scholarship. For a time while at FSU, his roommate was future college coach and ESPN analyst Lee Corso. Burt hoped to be named an All-American, but a car accident caused a knee injury that permanently ended his athletic aspirations. For a while he considered becoming a police officer. While taking some additional courses at a junior college, an English teacher encouraged Burt to audition for a play called Outward Bound. Burt got the lead and eventually won the Florida State Drama Award for the performance.
Career
Burt soon relocated to New York City to continue acting in plays and to land roles in film and television. In 1961, he landed his first film role in a film called Angel Baby. It was 1972’s “Deliverance” that made him a star. He became internationally known in the 1970s and 1980s through appearances in successful films such as “Smokey and the Bandit”, “The Longest Yard” and “The Cannonball Run”. Later in his career he was known for projects like Boogie Nights, Without a Paddle and Burn Notice. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Boogie Nights. Of course, there have been times when Burt Reynolds’ career has been marred by career flops and personal setbacks. He was married twice. The second marriage, to actress Loni Anderson, ended in an acrimonious divorce that eventually led to Burt filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. He accused her of cheating on him and in 1993 Burt agreed to pay Loni a lump sum of $234,794.13 plus $15,000 a month in support after only 5 years of marriage.
Burt Reynolds died on September 6, 2018 at the age of 82 after reportedly suffering a heart attack.
Financial problems
By his own estimation, Burt’s net worth was over $60 million at the peak of his career. That’s $60 million after taxes in the 1980s. Adjusted for inflation, that’s about $150 million today. Burt bought several mansions in Beverly Hills, built a massive estate in Florida, and bought a 160-acre ranch, also in Florida. He maintained a stable of 150 horses on the ranch. He also bought a Georgia mansion, a private jet and a helicopter. When he married Loni Anderson in 1988, he bought a new mansion in Beverly Hills. At the time of his marriage, Burt listed his net worth as $15 million. So where has all the money gone?
In the 1980s, Burt’s business manager convinced him to invest in a chain of family-style country restaurants called “Po’ Folks”. Burt and a partner bought 30 franchises, and Burt personally guaranteed the leases. As it turned out, Burt and his partner were sort of sold a lemon. The parent company was a disaster and the customers hated the food. Burt and his partner hired a consultant to help them sell the restaurants, but somehow this “expert” actually convinced them to invest in an OTHER (another) restaurant chain. Burt later conceded that the move resulted in a $5-6 million write-down, resulting in a $20-$30 million loss for both men.
In 1990, Reynolds was so short on cash that he had to borrow $4 million from CBS to support his lifestyle. At the same time, he agreed to star on the CBS show Evening Shade, assuming he would pay off the debt once the show was sold in syndication. When the show was canceled after four seasons, one season short of syndication fees, Burt owed the network $3.7 million.
In 1996, CBS sued him for $3.7 million in debt. That lawsuit forced Burt to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. His net worth at the time was $6.65 million and his debt was $11.2 million. Some details from his bankruptcy were quite embarrassing. For example, Burt owed his toupee maker $121,000.
In November 2014, many news outlets reported that Burt was once again experiencing serious financial problems. He was reportedly forced to sell many of his prized possessions and movie memorabilia to pay off nearly $10 million worth of debt. He was also reportedly facing foreclosure on his Florida home after failing to make his $1.2 million mortgage payments. Burt dismissed reports that he was broke, claiming he was selling memorabilia because he no longer had a use for it and was tired of seeing his face everywhere.

The Broken Down Golf Cart is a shooter cocktail that contains very little alcohol. And it’s pretty sweet for a shot, too.
This one features amaretto and midori with some lime juice to cut down on the sweetness. But even with that, it’s a fruity little drink worth savoring.
The first thing I taste in this drink is the melon from the Midori. This is quickly followed by both the sharp notes of lime and the subtle nutty flavors of amaretto.
This drink is good as an aperitif or as a small treat at the end of a meal. It’s also a good choice if you want to enjoy some shots that taste really good and won’t knock you out right away.
While many shot glass sized drinks are about getting as much alcohol into you as quickly as possible and damning the taste, this one is more of a real, well thought out cocktail recipe. In fact, you could increase the size of the ingredients in this cocktail and turn it into a regular sized cocktail. Simply double each of the ingredient amounts. And that gives you a tasty little cocktail with notes of lime, cherry and melon all deliciously blended together. The taste is so delicious and unique among the drink recipes.
Another nice thing about this drink is that it appears to change color in the light. It usually looks more like an emerald green.
But in the right lighting or against a dark background, it can appear lighter green. The color variations make the drink appear even more magical.
It is not a strong drink as it is made from liqueurs and lime juice with no alcohol. If you want to make it stronger, you can add a little vodka.
This works best when you double the other ingredients to make it a longer drink. Just double them and then add some vodka and you’re done.
If you like this combination of Amaretto with fruit and citrus flavors, be sure to try the Amaretto Sour, which blends the sweet liqueur with sour notes of lemon juice for a wonderful taste.
