On the Ringtone screen, enable Emergency Bypass and tap Done.

After that, go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb and enable Do Not Disturb mode on your iPhone by toggling the switch next to Do Not Disturb to the ON position.

Now only the contacts who have emergency bypass options can call your iPhone when it is put into Do Not Disturb mode.

3. Add known contacts to the favorites list

Another easy way to only ring iPhone when a known contact calls is to manually enable Do Not Disturb mode on iPhone, which allows only your favorite contacts to call you.

Open the Contacts app on your iPhone and select the contact you want to allow your iPhone to ring.

From the Contact Info screen, select Add to Favorites.

From the contextual menu that appears, select Call.

In the next pop-up window, select the phone number of this contact.

After adding all your important contacts to the Favorites list, go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb and slide the switch next to Do Not Disturb to the ON position.

This will enable Do Not Disturb mode with the default settings on your iPhone, allowing calls and message notifications from favorite contacts and blocking all other callers.

Note: The downside of using Do Not Disturb mode to only make the iPhone ring when certain selected contacts call your device is that it can sometimes result in real callers being blocked.
