Try these fixes:

Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-60 1.90Ghz Ram 3.00GB, 32-bit I have checked and can run the game in medium config’s. Tried playing with all firewall’s disabled (my ISP’s firewall and my PC firewall) and still no luck, same error. I’m running avast! antivirus and Spybot Search and destroy.

Hello, i bought L4D2 yesterday and ever since i havent been able to play online except for one time. Each time i try it just stays on the loading screen for awhile and then gives me the “connection failed after 10 tries” message. I can join lobbies fine but when it comes to the actual game it just fails miserably.

Ive gone online to try to find solutions but none seem to work for me. Ive turned off my firewall, removed and added it back to allowed programs, re-installed it, defragmented, varified and etc. Though ive never been a computer whiz, so maybe there is something im not quite getting -.- id really like to be able to play the game instead of regretting paying for it when i cant go online :[ im open to any suggestions if anyone has any.

[Solved] [L4D2] Some server issues including local host

Yesterday, I was able to play normally with our server. But somehow today we couldn’t connect to the server and it keeps saying connection failed after 10 retries.

I haven’t changed anything and I don’t know what is causing it really.

We’ve also tried local host, but my friends ended up in a forever loading screen with and without the -insecure launch options.

I asked my friend to do a local host to check if he can host (He has no plugins or anything related to modded server stuff unlike mine), but we also had a loading screen with black bar after awhile which is the same problem when I hosted locally.

It worked fine when we joined another dedicated server which is probably somewhere close to the EU server since our ping were at least 33ms.

Not sure what to do and not certain if it is related to the steam outage yesterday. But I have to wait until tomorrow I guess to test it out with them again.

Someone in the l4d2 discussion also posted about the connection failed after 10 retries and saying that he/she can’t join any game. Normally the local host would work perfectly fine if the dedicated server failed, but since I can’t do local host and my friend without any plugins couldn’t locally host one either. My friend has been having trouble with this error. I recently bought my three friends this game at last week’s sale. We’d been having no issues until a couple of days ago, when one friend started getting this error.

He keeps getting this error when we create a local host. Before you ask why we don’t use dedicated servers, it’s because the official dedicated servers in my region are dead, and other dedicated servers have sourcemods implemented, and we don’t like that.

When I try to create a local server, two of the friends can connect to me except this one. When this guy is the host (hoping that maybe I have the problem), the other two friends and I can’t connect to his local server. One of the three friends and I have the same ISP and the other two have the same ISP. Weirdly enough, when the other guy tries to be a host that has the same ISP as the one that has the error, we can all connect to the other friend, but he cannot.

He tried changing his clientport in the launch options, but it didn’t work. He tried to restart his router before joining, still nothing. He tried reinstalling, but nothing. I even tried setting up a dedicated server, but he still has this issue.

I hope you guys can help me.
