Q: What does “community average roll” mean?
A: Community Average Rolls are a way of “crowdsourcing” what the best roll is on each weapon. By scouring the global Destiny population using the Bungie API, we are able to see which perks a wide variety of players select for each weapon. Those stats are presented as the Community Average Roll.
Q: What do you mean by the “global Destiny population”?
A: As part of this feature, we are now tracking all active players using the Bungie API, not just those who have signed in on light.gg. The statistics displayed here are based on all players that have logged in over the past 2 weeks.
Q: So this hits literally every player and every weapon they own?
A: Yes and no. Every player should be seen by our scraper. The process will compute stats on items seen in the vault / inventory of players who have granted access to their “non-equipped Inventory”. However, the default Bungie.net permissions only allow us to see the full details on weapons that are equipped by each player’s characters.
Q: Doesn’t that skew the stats?
A: Partially. Presumably if someone has the weapon equipped, they like it, which would mean that the perks equipped on it are perceived to be better. At the same time, most people are probably dismantling rolls that they think are bad, so even if we could see their whole inventory, we might not catch many “dud” rolls. Overall, the phenomenon of (mostly) only being able to see equipped rolls will reduce the overall number of rolls on less popular weapons, but the perks on those that are visible will likely trend toward being more popular, otherwise people wouldn’t keep the roll, let alone equip it.
Q: Why do percentages like 19% fill the whole bar?
A: The bars for each percentage are relative to the most popular perk in that column. The most popular perk will fill its bar, and each perk under that will illustrate how popular it is relative to the most popular. So, if 22% of rolls use the most popular perk in a column and 11% of rolls use the least popular perk, the bar on the least popular perk should appear to be roughly half full. The intent of displaying it this way is to create better contrast between the options.
Q: How do curated rolls factor into this?
A: The usage stats are based only on randomly-rolled, legendary weapons.
Q: Can you explain the letter ranks that are given based on these stats?
A: Ranks range from F- to S+, based on how “far” your roll is from the community average roll. A roll with the least popular perk in each column should be ranked F-, and a roll with the most popular perk in each column should be ranked S+.
Q: How can I help?
A: The best way for everyone to help make this tool more accurate / complete is to update your Bungie.net privacy settings to allow API tools to view your non-equipped inventory. The more people that allow full access to their inventory, the more weapons we’ll be able to detect, and the more comprehensive the statistics that fall out of that will be.

Basically a legendary Chaperone – you can actually get the same range-increasing perks as it, too (Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds), PLUS Opening Shot – which is very useful, as this gun is best when ADS anyway. Your enemies will be surprised at how far away you can headshot… nothing like a fat shutdown of a Striker super with this baby.

Destiny 2’s Iron Banner returns
Update: We’ve received reports of players who were not receiving the curated Gunnora’s Axe to drop upon completing the “Test of Strength” Iron Banner pursuit. The information was based on datamined leaks, videos, and other posts prior to this week’s reset, all pointing to Gunnora’s Axe being the final reward. It seems that’s not the case. Iron Banner armors are being rewarded for each quest step completion, and that’s that. Gunnora’s Axe, meanwhile, can still be obtained from bounty completions and tokens as mentioned. However, we’ve yet to hear from anyone who was able to obtain the god-rolled/curated version of Gunnora’s Axe via any means. Let us know if you got one to drop for you.
Destiny 2 may have swords. Destiny 2 may have bows. And yes, you’ll also have my axe. Well, not mine, but Gunnora’s. That’s because Iron Banner is back once more. This’ll be the first time it’s part of the rotation during the Season of Opulence. You’ve got seven bounties which reward powerful gear and a pursuit that lets you obtain the curated Gunnora’s Axe as a pinnacle weapon.
Saladin’s Iron Banner Bounties
Head over to the Tower to speak to Lord Saladin. He’s got the following bounties for you:
Oath of the Pack – Defeat opponents in the Iron Banner while assisted by a teammate.
– Defeat opponents in the Iron Banner while assisted by a teammate. Abound the Fire – Capture zones in Iron Banner.
– Capture zones in Iron Banner. Maneuver Warfare – Defeat opponents with zone advantage; bonus points when “The Hunt” (all three zones captured/lockdown) is active.
– Defeat opponents with zone advantage; bonus points when “The Hunt” (all three zones captured/lockdown) is active. Victory Banners – Complete Iron Banner matches; bonus points for wins.
– Complete Iron Banner matches; bonus points for wins. An Arsenal of Tricks – Obtain final blows with abilities; bonus points for supers or kills versus Guardians with higher power levels.
– Obtain final blows with abilities; bonus points for supers or kills versus Guardians with higher power levels. Iron Confidence – Obtain final blows with weapons; bonus points for energy weapons, heavy weapons, and kills versus Guardians with higher power levels.

As you’ve noticed, a lot of these can be obtained just through regular play in the Iron Banner. Bungie has also removed that annoying bounty requiring orbs of light generation.
Now, because some of these bounties give bonus points when you defeat higher PL Guardians, you’ll probably want to wear some armor that lowers your power by quite a bit. Iron Banner does take your PL into consideration, but being around 720 to 730 PL should be fine. The Iron Burden consumable is no longer active as well so you’ll just have to rely on using weapons or armor that’d drop your level a bit.
Or, you know, you can just ignore getting the bonus increments and just steamroll everyone especially if you’re 750 PL already. Here’s our leveling guide if you still need help with that.
One more thing: You won’t get any of the armors from drops or from tokens at the start. These will be added to the loot pool only after you’ve completed the related quest steps via the Test of Strength pursuit (explained in detail below). The new Iron Banner armors can also roll with “enhanced” perks (ie. Enhanced Dexterity), and your Year 1 ornaments will be compatible if you’ve already unlocked them previously.
Gunnora’s Axe: Iron Banner Pursuit And Pinnacle Weapon
Iron Banner will have its own Pinnacle Weapon, the curated Gunnora’s Axe. Although this shotgun was introduced in the past, this’ll be the first time that it’s tied to an actual pursuit, guaranteeing you its curated “god roll.” You can even get it from packages or powerful bounties but these are completely random rolls. Only the pursuit will grant the curated version.
To start your journey to get Gunnora’s Axe, you’ll have to grab the “Test of Strength” pursuit from Saladin. The quest steps have already been made public for some time, as you can see via the website Light.gg. Anyway, here’s how you can obtain Gunnora’s Axe:
Test of Strength – As a team, earn points by defeating enemy Guardians in Iron Banner. Return to Saladin after completing this step.

Armed and Dangerous – As a team, earn points by capturing zones and earning Power Plays. The more teammates capturing a zone, the greater the points earned. Return to Saladin after completing this step.

Light It Up – As a team, earn points by defeating Guardians in Iron Banner with abilities — 200 super final blows, 150 grenade final blows, 100 melee final blows. Non-Stop – As a team, earn points by defeating enemies in Iron Banner using Auto Rifles (160 final blows), Fusion Rifles (160 final blows), Scout Rifles (160 final blows), Sniper Rifles (50 final blows), and Swords (40 final blows). Return to Saladin after completing this step.
Headstrong – Earn points by completing Iron Banner matches; win streaks are worth significantly more points.
Just so you have an idea of what you’re getting, we’ve added a video from Destiny Fun Police showcasing the Gunnora’s Axe in the Crucible. Do note that this is from last year. We’re hoping to see how the PvP lords would fare when using its curated version this time around.
The Gunnora’s Axe – An Axe To Grind
Yes, the grind to obtain Gunnora’s Axe can be tough and time-consuming, an annoying fixture in Destiny 2’s content. Likewise, the pinnacle quest steps that reward you with armor pieces are character-bound, not account-wide. You’ll have to re-do everything on your other characters to actually get Iron Banner armor.
Thankfully, there’s a bit of good news. First, the pursuit will be active throughout Destiny 2’s Season of Opulence. This means you’ve got several months to do these steps whenever Iron Banner comes around. You don’t need to go all-out this week. Second, you gain progress via your teammates as well. Buddy up with five other people and make sure that everyone’s on the same page.
The “Non-Stop” part of the Gunnora’s Axe quest line might seem daunting at first but you’ll want to rely on your own skills, and your teammates, to get the job done. Here are some ideal weapons:
Auto Rifles – Suros Regime, Breakneck, Cerberus, heck, bring out your old Uriel’s Gift if you want.
Fusion Rifles – Telesto, Jotunn, Loaded Question, Erentil-FR, Main Ingredient.
Scout Rifles – MIDA Multi-Tool, Polaris Lance, Jade Rabbit, Talons of the Eagle.
Sniper Rifles – Alone As God, Fate Cries Foul, Twilight Oath, Beloved, and basically any sniper rifle in Destiny 2 which lets you quick-scope plus headshot someone easily.
Swords – Anything will do, they’re darned swords. Maybe Black Talon would help?
Remember, you also gain progress from your teammates’ kills with these weapons. Try to run with a variety of setups to help everyone out. Eventually, you’d be done with the pursuit and you’d have your Gunnora’s Axe pinnacle weapon. Its perks are:
Rifled Barrel
Accurized Rounds
Outlaw
Opening Shot
Stability masterwork
It’s a slug shotgun with a high range stat that’s comparable to the Chaperone exotic. You’re bound to kill someone via the Opening Shot perk alone, followed by a quick reload via Outlaw, and then another Opening Shot slug blast.
