The Fuji DL-510 is a point and shoot camera. It was produced by Fuji in 1992. The camera was sold in Japan under the name “Fuji Cardia mini Everyday OP”.
The lens of the Fuji DL-510 cannot be exchanged. It has a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 28 mm. This is called “Fujinon Lens 28mm Wide”. It is made up of four elements arranged in four groups. Focusing is facilitated by built-in autofocus. To get sharp pictures, you should be at least 48 cm away from your subject.
The Fuji DL-510 has a built-in exposure meter. It can be used with films from ISO 50 to ISO 1600. The camera reads the ISO value via the DX code on the cartridge. The aperture and exposure time can be set automatically by the Fuji DL-510. Exposure can be influenced by exposure compensation (+- 2 f-stops). The built-in flash provides sufficient light. The power source of the 35mm camera is a CR 123A battery (eBay / Amazon).
Films for the Fuji DL-510
Which films are required for the Fuji DL-510? The camera is designed for 35mm films. These films are still being produced and the development is offered by most photo labs. For black-and-white shots, you can go to with the Ilford Delta 100 (eBay / Amazon). For color images, the Kodak Portra 160 (eBay / Amazon) is a possibility. The negatives of Fuji DL-510 have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm.

A few years ago I walked into a London camera shop and asked if they had a Contax T3 I could take a look at, they didn’t. A staff member did point me towards something a bit more affordable, however, so 30 quid later I walked out with this little gem.
The first roll I got out of this almost blew me away. It didn’t quite change my photography, but when my images came back from the lab it did change my mind about point & shoots, having previously shot with SLRs and decently vintage cameras. The AF and metering are mostly spot on, the flash tends expose well too.
The camera almost reminds me of a bar of soap in the way it’s smoothly shaped but it’s nice to hold in the hand, the viewfinder is a decent size and the shutter release has a distinct detent for AF. There’s typical point and shoot settings on the back, including the ability to turn the flash off or set the camera to remain at infinity, useful for taking photos through windows. I enjoy the date imprint too, I’m one of those people.
The lens seems decent enough for what I use it for as I usually just get my film photos printed, only recently have I started getting into scans and sharing them digitally.
Importantly the size of the camera means it can live in my pocket! It’s not hard to spend a large amount of cash on film photography, but this is easily the best £30 I’ve spent on a camera.
I eventually got to hold a Contax T3 when I visited New York.

It uses a Fujinon 28mm f/4.5 made from 4 elements groups 4 with a focus distance of 0.48m to ∞. The electronic shutter has speeds from 1/3 up to 1/125 if a sec. Metering uses a CdS cell with +2 EV exposure compensation. A metering range 16 to 9.8 EV or 6 to 16 EV with flash. The film transport is a pre winding type with automatic advance and drop in loading. It can use DX encoded film with a range of 50 to 1600 ISO. The built-in flash has basic modes like auto, flash on, flash off and red eye reduction. The viewfinder has a 0.38x magnification and shows bright line frames with parallax correction and flash indicators. Power comes from one CR123A battery.

Oct. 2. Took the camera out today. Using the no flash option, I made some candids in a local dinner plus shot through windows for a couple of shops.
plus saw a very well dressed man in a nice nissan sleeping. i approached and snapped but the angle was very good. sometimes, i’m just too chicken.
