DISASSEMBLY – WE M16A1 UPPER | AIRSOFT
In this episode I will disassemble a Wei-Tech M16A1 upper as requested by the FERG BURGER.

STEP 1: MAG AND SPLIT
Removing the mag and separate the lower from the upper.
STEP 2: FLASH HIDER \u0026 HANDGUARD
Unscrewing the flash hider and remove the handguards.
STEP 3: BOLT \u0026 CHARGING HANDLE
The bolt is removed by pulling back the charging handle, then removing the charging handle.
STEP 4: FRONT SIGHT / GAS BLOCK
I punch out the pins holding the gas block in place.
STEP 5: HANDGUARD CAP \u0026 GAS TUBE
Removing the handguard cap and gas tube.
STEP 6: DELTA RING
The delta ring is removed with the help of a heat gun.
STEP 7: OUTER AND INNER BARREL
After removing the delta ring I can the inner and outer barrel is now free.
STEP 8: DUST COVER
Opening the dust cover and removing the associated rod and spring
STEP 9: FORWARD ASSIST
I remove the forward assist by punching out the pin holding it in place.
STEP 10: HOP-UP UNIT
Lastly the hop-up unit is disassembled.
Note that I’m performing these modifications and disassemblies at my own risk. These alterations can go very wrong if you lack the skills, tools and knowledge required, and can damage your equipment and parts as well as cause injury on your person if you attempt them yourself.

BROWNELLS AR-15 A1 EJECTION PORT COVER ASSEMBLY
Our Brownells A1 Ejection Port Cover is an accurately detailed replica of the cover used on M16A1 and earlier rifles – basically the Vietnam Era guns. Unlike the standard A2 cover still in use today, the A1 has a smaller, rectangular finger pad with crisp 90 degree edges. On the inner side, an early-style hexagonal housing retains the catch detent and spring, rather than the simpler, easier to manufacture cylindrical housing of the A2 cover.
Aside from these physical details, the Brownells A1 Ejection Port Cover operates and installs just like the covers on modern-day rifles. It’s made of stamped steel (not plastic – of course!), with a classic matte dark gray Parkerized finish that’s a good match to our Retro Rifle receivers.
Correct style for M16A1 & earlier rifles that should have a port cover

NOTE: Pin, C-clips & spring NOT included
If you’ve gone to the effort of building up a nice early AR-15 / M16 Retro Rifle from Brownells parts, why cut corners on the details? The A1 Ejection Port Cover provides that finishing touch of historical accuracy.

Just picked up 2 doors from said e///bay seller. Pretty much un-distinguishable from original A1 port doors ala’ dust covers.
Nice early gray park. Design is correct in every way except one small detail not worth explaining. These are absolutely GTG. Totally impressed.

” This is a great dust cover. Solid and well built. Looks like the ones on a real M4/M16. First time for me replacing one. The door locks closed solid. Better than the original that came with my M16A1. There are videos out there showing how to replace the Dust Cover. You can do it without removing the delta ring. I recommend this item if you need to a replacement.
