What top coat/base coat do you use?
– I don’t have a favorite topcoat, usually I use the INM Out The Door (can be found at Sally’s Beauty Supply) for swatches and the HK Girl from Glisten \u0026 Glow for manicures. My all time favorite base coat the CND Stickey. You can find that on Amazon.com or at Ulta stores.
Why do you take your picture and video swatches separately?
– Since my lighting, camera settings, and tripod all have to be adjusted when switching from pictures to video, its faster, and helps keep the lighting more consistent, if I batch process all the pictures at once and then all the videos at another time. It also helps me get a feel for how to work with the polish if I do my pictures before the video.
How long do you let your nail polish dry between coats?
– I wait until a coat is completely dry to the touch before adding another one. The time it takes for that to happen varies from polish to polish, but usually is around 5-10 minutes.
How long do swatch videos take you to make?
– To take pictures, film, edit, and upload, it takes between 5-8 hours depending on the size of the collection.
Why don’t you paint EVERY SINGLE inch of your nail and ALL THE WAY UP TO THE CUTICLE EVERY SINGLE TIME?! DEAR GOD WHY?!
– I purposely avoid the sides of my nails and my cuticle line when I’m swatching because I do swatches one after the other after the other. Removing polishes that are applied too close to the skin can stain the skin around my nails and make the next swatch look bad. I do it to keep the video clips and pictures clean.

Why don’t you use a peel-off base coat when you swatch? You should use the UNT one because Simplynailogical uses it and everyone should use everything she uses with no exceptions.
– I speed swatch. The polish is still wet or tacky by the time I remove it to apply the next one. Using a peel-off base coat would not only add an extra step to my routine, but would require me to wait for the polish to dry before it could be peeled off. This would end up taking more time and be less efficient for me.
Trust me, if Cristine suggests it, I try it…but everyone has different taste in products and everyone does things differently. Two people can have vastly different opinions on a product. It doesn’t mean that one of them is wrong, it means that they’re different people.

After hearing others say that OPI
Catch Me In Your Net
and Zoya
Charla
are very similar, I decided to do a swatch test for myself. As you can see, the bottles look very similar with the blue base and the blue-green glitter.
Still looking very similar!
I used a base coat of Dermelect Launchpad, 2 coats of each color, and for OPI, I had a top coat of Seche Vite. For Zoya, I used a top coat of Zoya Armor.
Up first is my sun picture. I used OPI on my pointer and ring finger & Zoya on my middle and pinkie.
Well, you can see that Catch Me In Your Net is a little lighter than Charla – I don’t know if another coat of CMIYN would make it look just like Charla? I’m not sure. ^_^
Same with the shade. So are these exact dupes? They are sure close! Do you need both? I will always say yes. ^_^ But then again, I’m obsessed!

I already posted this polish on my previous blog, but I also wanted it here since those pictures aren’t online anymore. This is the best polish from the OPI Summer Flutter collection that released in 2010.
Catch Me In Your Net is a stunning foil polish with a golden shimmer. When you look at the bottle it also looks a bit duo chrome, but when you apply it on your nails you don’t see it. I must say I really don’t mind that the duo chrome is gone, because this polish is AMAZING! The blue/teal color reminds me of oceans and mermaids and wearing this you’ll get a lot of compliments! This polish is IRL so much better than on the pictures 😀
I needed two coats for full coverage. The drying time is just like most OPI polishes. I didn’t use a top coat, this polish lasts for a long time without chipping and the formula is really great! Just make sure you use a good base coat, because this polish does stain your nails!
If you want this color you can also get Zoya – Charla or Essence – Choose Me, these are pretty accurate and cheaper dupes and easier to get since this polish is discontinued.

I wasn’t really sure if I should write this post or not. Photos are not that good and colors are not very realistic. But since I was impressed by this polish I finally had to write everything down.
Meet OPI – Catch Me In Your Net.
As you know, I’m not OPI fan. I find their brushes to be too big and they usually start to chip really fast on my nails.
This time I was impressed with the brush, formula and staying power.
Glass flecked glitter in green and golden green colors + bluish shimmer all put into the blue base.
The polish is mostly blue-green on me. It looks like Maestra’s Ivanka that crashed into the blue polish.
First day – two coats + top coat. Three coats on ring finger.
Fourth day. I added one more layers of OPI CMIYN to refresh manicure and to soften tip wear-a. Photo was taken later that day.
On the fifth day I added one layer of OPI CMIYN and one layer of Essie Matte About You.
I have no clue whatsoever how many layers does that amount to. 😀
I chose OPI Catch Me In Your Net because little “accident” with Zoya Mimi is still fresh in my mind, but I really wanted to have Zoya Charla polish. So I picked up OPI CMIYN instead. My reasoning was – if it’s less opaque, maybe it ‘ll stain my nails less. 😀
Today I finally removed the manicure. Two of the nails were stained a little bit, but no major damage was done. I used two coats of base polish.
Good thing I bought big bottle since I need at least 4 layers for full coverage. But for this shade, I can live with this minor detail.
