Established in 1989, ventura set out to abandon the idea that design is an empirical expression. A focus on content, genuine construction, functionality, and above all a visualization of watchmaking craft has enabled ventura to create honest products where the form is a result of the process.
From the beginning, ventura co-operated with established designers and in 1994, Hannes Wettstein, a young Zurich designer at the time, put forward his proposal. His thorough approach and architectural background enabled him to challenge traditional methods of conception. Rather than proposing a design as such, Hannes put forward a detailed specification.
The aesthetic appearance of the watch would be defined by the functional, technical and material characteristics. The properties of the pure titanium would determine the form. The dial layout should be functional, reduced to its essential elements. The only item to be left undetermined was the watch’s price; the aim was to produce a watch from the best materials, free from any cost pressures.
This unconventional approach allowed Hannes to create a truly honest watch…

Condition is “Pre-owned”. Automatic COSC Chronometer with 24-hr subdial, utilizing the Valjoux 7751 movement visible through the sapphire case back The Case is Nitrogen-hardened Titanium, finished using Ventiura’s “Titanox” process that makes it highly scratch resistant. The case on this watch looks as new as the day I bought it with the exception of 1 1 mm case dent. I am the original original owner. It was worn sparingly and has been locked away in storage. The previous owner had it fully serviced at the Ventura factory a few years ago and runs perfectly – just like a chronometer should. Of Note: The case looks just like new – with the exception of 1 dimple depicted in the macro image. While I have found these to be virtually unnoticeable in normal wear, sadly, it exist none the less. The rubber strap is in excellent condition. The clasp on the strap has a few scratches on it (it is a brushed titanium) and can be polished out. Replacement straps and clasps are still available. The watch comes complete with all original boxes and papers – including COSC Chronometer Certificate. Ventura Men’s V-Matic COSC Chronograph Watch officially certified Swiss chronometer. While other firms routinely issued Valjoux 7751 based chronographs with 25 Jewels, Ventura’s models contain 38 Jewels. All of their mechanicals were elegantly finished and on display via a sapphire back and all have a W/R of 100m with proprietary pressed-on display back. Over de analoge mechanische horloges van Ventura. De modellen zijn al jaren uit productie maar er komen soms nog enkele modellen ‘boven tafel’ bij Ventura. De kasten en wijzerplaten liggen al jaren ergens in een doos en uurwerken worden nieuw besteld en hierdoor kunnen we nog enkele zeldzame modellen leveren. Metname de Titanox® kasten zijn van een extreme hardheid waardoor de horloges na tientallen jaren dragen amper veranderen of beschadigen. Alles is van een hoge kwaliteit, ook de uurwerken. Hoofdzakelijk C.O.S.C. gecertificeerde uurwerken zijn toegepast dus van een nog hogere nauwkeurigheid. Over de tijdloze smaakvolle ontwerpen van de beroemde designer Hannes Wettstein hoeven we niets uit leggen. Heeft u ergens interesse in, neem dan contact op met Marc. Officiële C.O.S.C. zeer nauwkeurige gecertificeerde zwitserse chronometer voorzien van een ETA Valjoux 7750 uurwerk. Eigenzinnig vormgegeven en technisch hoogstaand ontwerp van Hannes Wettstein. Deze ontwerper benadrukt inhoud en doel en geeft horloges daarom een uiterlijk dat past bij hun functionaliteit. Dit automatische mechanische herenhorloge heeft een analoge tijdsaanduiding met drie wijzers, een datumaanduiding en een chronograafsysteem (stopwatch). Verder is dit ook een worldtimer en heeft het een extra 24 uur ring met bijbehorende zwarte wijzer met een rood aanduidingsvlakje.
Uitgevoerd in het zogenaamde Titanox, een door Ventura ontwikkelde (gepatenteerde) titaniumlegering die extreem hard en krasbestendig is. Hardheid 800 Hv (ter vergelijking RVS 200 Hv, normaal titanium 200-400 Hv, keramiek (Rado) 1000 Hv). Gecombineerd met een Titanox schakelband. Voorzien van saffierglas. Ook het uurwerk is aan de achterkant zichtbaar achter saffierglas. Waterdicht getest tot een druk van 100 meter onder water. Diameter kast 39,0 mm.
