thanks Techno dad. Im too far invested into my Shield/Plex/MyCloudEX2 Ultra NAS to switch now but….still cool to see there are other options. The PlexAmp app to play music on your phone/tablet/pc is gold and love it so so much so it would be hard to give that up. Strange the drive dock didnt work for Pc. I hope they help you figure that out.
So curious when you got internal seagate drive Did you have to format the drive first? Or can I simply place the Iron Wolf 16tb internal drive directly into my Zappiti docking location ?

Question sir: just picked up a Pro HD on a bit of a whim. I’m reading that these drives need to be formatted. I’m not the most computer savvy person but I’m competent. Are the drives you linked to ready to be used or will they need a drive format done? Thanks.
Great informative video! Thanks 🙂 I had to switch from Ironwolf to WD Red drives. I dont know if the Ironwolves were faulty but the noise they made during playback was unbearable. The WD Reds also make some noise but not disturbing while watching a movie. Anyone else had this problem with Ironwolf or did I get a bad batch?
Hello Techno Dad, thank you for yet another pitch of this really terrible waste of money.
I have had this Zappiti pos for about two weeks now and I'm about to throw it out the window. Worst investment possible.
Looking at your video it confirmed that your gigabit network is not capable to transfer files at gigabit. Mine averages about 30ish Mbps. That is more than 3 times slower than it should be. It would be nice if in your review you would also point out the shortcomings of this unit since they are major and many.
On top of that now I cannot use the Bay1. If I put any drive in it I get the "Zappiti launcher has stopped"
I have tried everything suggested:
1) Factory reset
2) Reinstalled the firmware that comes on the usb stick
3) Removed the drive from bay1 and ntfs re-formated in a windows 10 machine
The drive is a 8Tb NAS Seagate drive.
The only remedy is to only use Bay2 and who know when that will stop working.
So in conclusion, guys, stay away from this royal pos. Ridiculous cost for what you get.

that remind me when i use to burn DVD movie back in the 1990 loll so outdated, rip off product to be honest out of century and high ripp off price , just use plex and nvidia shild, i ditches my movies files way back in the day and i will never keep them on storage ever again

I use Make MKV and I record it straight to my seagate hd via docking
station. When I look at what recorded it shows a folder
with lots of other files inside that folder. I am wondering because
I record it as a back up. Will the Zappiti still see the movie?
Will I have to delete everything except the movie?

Thank you for all the time and energy you put into this video and all of your videos. People only see the finished product of 11 minutes, not the 8 to 10 hours it took to do it right. You interact with your subscribers. You care about them as people. I will never forget how supportive you were when my mom passed . Please take time to rest and relax. You have earned it.
And the Zappiti can’t see the forced subtitles flags. Huge disappointment
Took me a week to realise I could transfer via network and that you can rename the file.. for eg the names of some movies were just called : iso network or something completely different to the actual movie title.
Also what’s infuriating is if the Zappiti incorrectly identifies a movie, you can’t individually search for it. You have to scroll through the movies- see what poster doesn’t match (I had Total Recall identify as: Sunset Boulevard 1950) and re identify it.
Also I downloaded the Zappiti for Mac to quicken the process of re naming titles etc but the text is too small to even see, so I use the wireless keyboard and do it direct in the Zappiti
