Blackout is the greatest drinking game of all time.

Unlike most other (read: sissy) drinking games out there, where the winner drinks the least, Blackout’s goal is actually to consume the most alcohol. The average competitive player can expect to consume more than four beers in less than ten minutes.

Blackout was brought to Davis from the depths of barbaric Southern California by young Benjamin Jones and further refined by him as his roommate Arnold Kemp (currently the Blackout Champion).

Rules

The blackout rules are as follows:

WHILE the Blackout game is played until all the beers on the table are gone. The number of beers placed in the center of the table must be one more than four times the number of players. A pair of dice is also required. Beers must be in 12 ounces. mold (although you can certainly use 40-ounce molds if you prefer).

WHILE no beer may be opened until it must be drunk. The drunk beer is not thrown away, but kept as evidence until the end of the game in front of the exhausted. Once a beer has been opened by a player, no other person may drink from it. Once a beer is opened, it must be empty before the player leaves the table. The winner of the game is the one who consumes the most alcohol, as indicated by the number of empty beers in front of him.

WHILE the game begins with players rolling the dice to determine the order. The game continues to the left. If the exact same role happens twice in a row, the direction of play reverses after the round in which the exact same role was played ends normally.

WHEREAS two dice are rolled and swallows equal to the sum of the dice are taken each round, with the exception of doubles, totals of seven, totals of more than eight and reps (the replay rule was previously explained in the previous rule). Hereinafter, when a player is said to “drink a number”, it should be interpreted as “Drink that number of sips.”

DURING if a double 5 is rolled, an additional round occurs. The player drinks as usual (five for themselves, five for the next player) and then it is their turn immediately.

DURING when double 4’s are rolled, a measurement takes place. A consensus is reached (by any means necessary) between the player’s beer and the next player’s beer as to whose beer contains more beer. Whoever has more beer in the can must drink it up.

WHEN double 3s are rolled, a three-echo occurs. The player now drinks (as usual) six sips. However, until that player’s turn begins again, he or she must draw even with any other player whose roll contains a three or a total of three.

DURING if double 2’s are rolled, a duel occurs. The player chooses one of the other players. Each of the duel participants now rolls a single die. The winner with the larger number displayed drinks double the number while the loser drinks the smaller number of sips. If there is a tie, both players drink twice as much as they rolled.

WHILE rolling Snake Eyes, a beer bong occurs. A whole beer is poured into an available beer bong and then pounded (drunk) by the player. If no beer bong is available, the beer can simply be drunk. This is widely considered to be the best throw in the game.

WHILE at the end of the round in which the last beer is opened (not when the last beer is empty), a Beerocalypse occurs. All players must now chug their beer empty. This is done to avoid a tie. If two players end up with the same number of beers consumed, the winner will be determined by whoever finishes first during the Beerocalypse.

If there is still a tie, this will be decided by a tucker competition. The author would like to remind the reader that the game is called Blackout.

WHILE encouraging puking.

Some insurgents constantly advocate a ridiculous variation in which any player who rolls a total of eight chooses another player who cannot drink until that player’s next turn is up. This rule goes against the essence of the game as it actually slows down the drinking that occurs.

The only strategy in Blackout is simply to take big gulps. Also lucky.

In reality, the Snake Eyes rule involved using a turtle bong instead of an uncapitalized beer bong. This was done to make this public overhaul of the game more expansive, as the only known Turtle Bong resides exclusively in 1708 Drexel Drive.

Design: This is what Do or Drink looks like

I’m a little bothered that it’s wrapped in plastic, but other than that the box looks pretty neat.

It has a fairly simple design: it’s black and white on the outside, but it’s very colorful when you open the box.

On the front of the box is the name of the game in capital letters and below the title is “WIN OR BLACKOUT”. It actually says a lot about the game: win or drink so much you lose everything…

On the side of the box is a line telling you once again that this game is for adults only: DESIGNED TO GET YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS WASTED!

While the back of the box with the inverted colors (white background and black letters/text) briefly explains the gameplay and tells us what we will find inside the box e.g. B. what maps we can expect and what they look like.

The card design of Do or Drink

Apparently the two decks are split, wrapped in plastic, the white cards and the black cards.

As they already said, the game contains a large number of maps. It has a total of 350 cards, half of which are white and half are black.

Although marked as black cards, 35 of them are red when we turn them over.

Now the black cards are divided into 2 types: black (worth 1 point) and red (worth 2 points).

On the other hand, white cards are divided into 20 types. Some of them are: Draw, drink if, brunettes, vote, war, waterfall, social, simon, free pass, swap, etc.

The questions and challenges are manifold. Just going through them, they seem to be quite fun, and sometimes some of them contain very difficult challenges. Here some of them:

Take an awkward selfie and post it to your Snap Story or drink three times;

Make three shots or stop playing;

Keep this card and use it at any time to force another player to drink twice as much as they should.

Text your parents “I’m pregnant” or “I’ve got someone pregnant” and don’t reply until after the game. Do this, take three shots or stop playing…

To be honest I’m a bit surprised as I didn’t expect the maps to have such content – I’m pleasantly surprised.

The rules of the game of Do or Drink

It might seem complicated that there are so many types of cards, but once you start playing it just gets easier. This is another surprising thing I stumbled upon in my Do or Drink adventure, if you will.

Get some alcohol, invite your closest friends and start playing by following the rules below:

Separate black cards and white cards into 2 piles.

The player who starts first draws a white card and does what the card says based on their category.

This continues until a player draws a DRAW card.

If such a card is drawn, that player draws another card from the black deck and does as it says or drinks.

If the player successfully completes the challenge, they get to keep the card.

If the card is black it is worth 1 point and if it is red it is worth 2 points.

That’s it. Not as complicated as it seemed.

A bit about the content of the cards: when I said this is suitable for adults, I really mean ADULTS. Not 18+, but 21+.

It contains adult and sexual content, sometimes dangerous and difficult challenges.

DO NOT play it in the presence of children because there are some things that should go unheard for some time.

You should choose wisely who you want to play the game with. Friends or family, it’s fine as long as you’re very close to them and feel free to do stupid shit around them.

I wouldn’t suggest inviting people who are easily offended and people who don’t understand that a challenge is a challenge.

The game can be played by 2+ players, but it would be great if there is a significant number of players because the more players, the more fun and interesting things can happen.

What’s it like to play Do or Drink? – The gaming experience

We all remember the first time we played a good game, especially a fun one.

That’s why I remember the first time I played Do or Drink.

We were at a family home evening, the whole family, relatives, cousins. I ordered the game 2 weeks ago because I really liked the game description I saw on social media.

I gathered young people in the room who were over 21 years old. Just to be clear: not the elders, uncles, aunts, parents.

There were about 9 people at the table and before inviting them in I made sure there was no one taking things very seriously so no one would get hurt or offended (at least that’s the advice I’ve gotten from others who have have played before).

I explained the game and the rules to them and told them that all they had to do was read the card in their hand.

We shuffle the cards and set everything up and after all I started first so they know how the game is going. I drew a voting card that said, on a three, everyone points to the player they want to drink. The player with the most votes wins.

For some reason 6 of them were pointing at the player in front of me. Maybe because he really likes drinking and a lot… Who cares, I’ve gotten away from it (at least for now).

The game continued with the other player. She drew a chick card: all females must drink. Huh, good for us, we all need at least one chance at family reunions, right?

Here comes my favorite, the first draw card. We couldn’t wait to have one.

Drawn by the 3D player in the round. It said: Draw a black Do-or-Drink card. Do as it says, drink, or quit the game (if a red card is drawn). If you make it successful, you can keep the card as a point or a 2.

We were all eyes and ears!!!

Next, she drew a red card. Lol that was amazing and I’m glad it didn’t happen to me. The card said: Every time someone drinks, take off one article of clothing until you are only left with your underwear. Stay like that for the rest of the game, take two shots, or stop playing.

Without really caring that this was a family reunion, she did exactly what was on the menu.

The game went on like this for a while, with incredible questions and challenges. Luckily I only drew one train card. Then I pulled out a black card that said: SMS to a random phone number, “It’s your turn?” or drink twice.

I could drink, but it wasn’t a very “challenging” challenge, so I texted this random number.

I was thankful that I didn’t have any extraordinary challenges during this game because I might not have mastered them. At this point I’m starting to think I’m the one player who’s scared of the challenges, you know the one who shouldn’t be invited??

The biggest challenge was the player right next to me: get undressed, go outside and dash down the street. Do this, take two shots, or stop playing.

She didn’t accept the challenge and ended the game. To be honest I would have done the same, it was one of the hardest challenges.

The game continued like this, with amazingly fun questions and challenges. Some of them were really challenging, others more “normal”. At the end of the day we enjoyed them all.

Playing the game felt like endless fun: stomachaches from laughing and the way we went through the challenges, oh, and often embarrassment and blushes…

How to use COD points

COD Points are used to purchase Supply Drops in the previous Call of Duty games that contain skins and other items. So far, they have not been implemented in Black Ops 4. They are not mentioned in the main menus. Developer Treyarch has said COD points will be implemented soon, but at launch there is no use for COD points in Black Ops 4.

If you’re wondering where COD points come from, some were offered as pre-order incentives when purchasing Black Ops 4. If you bought one of these versions of the game, you will have to wait for COD points to be implemented before you can collect them. In short, COD points will be introduced in the future, so be patient.

What are Dark Ops Challenges and Character Missions?

Black Ops 4 has a number of in-game challenges that upon completion grant the player new skins/outfits for their characters. Some of these challenges are also known as character missions. Complete a Character Mission and you’ll unlock one of the characters from Zombies or Multiplayer to use in Blackout.

While most of the challenges detail what you need to do to complete them and unlock the skins, the Dark Ops challenges are kept secret. Luckily we have a list of all the Blackout and Multiplayer challenges, as well as all known Dark Ops challenges. You are welcome!

Can you play Blackout offline?

Blackout is the new Battle Royale mode that pits 88 players on a single-set map for survival. Because it’s so multiplayer oriented, you can’t play it offline. However, it is possible to play Blackout in split-screen mode, which is quite an achievement. Two players can play together in Blackout, and both must be signed in, with one of them having a subscription to PS Plus.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 also supports 4-player split-screen for Zombies mode and 2-player split-screen for multiplayer.

In this week’s Quality Control Podcast, we talk about the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, a battle royale mode called Blackout. It is available as part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. At first glance, it looks like many other battle royale games on the market. But in motion there is much more nuance in the experience.

I sat down with our Austen Goslin. We both have spent thousands of hours in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite, as well as prequels to the Call of Duty series. Blackout is not like other battle royale games

Charlie Hall: I think the most important point to start with is to say that this is absolutely not 100 percent PlayerUnknown’s battleground, nor is Fortnite.

Austen Goslin: It’s definitely his own thing, which is kind of surprising because on the surface it kind of looks like PUBG. It obviously doesn’t have Fortnite’s building, but it’s a faster-paced, military-style battle royale game. However many people fall on the card – I think it’s 88 in Solo – and you fight to be the last person standing.

Charlie: When the game starts, instead of this long, leisurely parachute sequence, you just drop onto the map from a fairly low altitude. You have a wingsuit and you can fly wherever you want. You can literally start anywhere on this map regardless of where this line of heavy lift helicopters arrive.

Austen: Sometimes, in other battle royale games, it’s more constrained where the plane comes from. Here you can just go anywhere.

Charlie: Aside from being practical, it also allows you to learn parts of the map instead of reacting to the environment you’re in. I think that in a way this gives up on the survival tropes that the battle royale genre is based on.

Austen: I think that’s true, especially in terms of the way the in-game loot comes out so quickly. In something like PUBG, you could play for quite a while and never end up with a gun. In Blackout, you’ll get the kind of weapon you want pretty quickly. You will definitely get it because they are just about everywhere.

The map is bigger than you think

Charlie: When they first announced this mode, people started to get a little worried. The developers said, “Alright, we’re going to make it huge! It will be 1500 times larger than Nuketown! This is going to be massive!” But what they also said is, “We’re basically going to take the best Call of Duty levels and put them together on a single map for you.” I think a lot of people were concerned that it wouldn’t feel cohesive. But I think it absolutely works as a fully complete, fluid map. Switching between locations feels good, maneuvering feels challenging. And discrete locations on the maps border on the familiar.

Austen: One of the big concerns I had was that I felt that each of these places was interesting on its own, but that going back and forth between them might be boring or just feel that way , like they came out of nowhere and didn’t really fit the map. But I definitely agree with you. I think they’ve done enough to change these maps so they’re not exactly what you remember, but they’re familiar and more importantly, they’re a really exciting place to fight, rather than the drab buildings you see in other games of the genre. They’re very specially designed places, which I think is a lot of fun.

Charlie: You mainly spent your time in squads and solo. I only play solo mode. How does the game change between these modes?

Austen: Squads has a way of scales things down, makes you think about other people and what they’re going to need, and also what you can do to help them. It’s definitely a big change from Solo mode

Charlie: When you’re playing in Blackout Squads, I feel like it’s instinctive to spend a lot of time looting to find the perfect perfect outfit for everyone in the squad. Everyone needs a backpack. Everyone needs level 3 armor or a good long gun, good room cleaning and a short range weapon. I don’t think that’s necessary for this battle royale game. The more times I’ve played it, the more different roles you can take on in your roster, and that almost makes you more powerful and lets you progress faster.

Austen: We talked about how you can really land anywhere you wanted in the early game, and I think that makes you think the map is a little bit smaller than it is. But it’s a big map and you have to spend time to get to places. So I don’t think it’s too helpful, especially in squads, to spend all your time looting. Everyone needs at least one good weapon that they are comfortable with, and maybe some armor and medical kits, but that’s about it. You don’t have to spend all your time making sure everything is ideal.

Zombies are part of the fun

Charlie: I was surprised when I first jumped into the beta with these towers of light I saw all over the map. Austen, explain to me what these light towers are for.

Austen: In previous Call of Duty games, in zombie modes, those light towers, those blue lights pointing up into the sky, show where the mystery box is on the map. In the original Zombies modes, you could spend some of the points you earned to get a random weapon. When you land in these areas in Blackout, there will be zombies on the map all running around these pillars of light. You’ll get small groups of players who will have to stop fighting among themselves and deal with the zombie menace while that timer runs out. Then everyone rushes to the box. It’s like a supply drop in other battle royale games, except it already starts on the map. It really creates a cool interaction when you’re fighting someone and they’re fighting you and zombies at the same time.

It works, but it’s not perfect

Charlie: The big change when you compare it to other games in the battle royale space is that this thing launched and was fully functional.

Austen: It’s going really smoothly. That’s always been the Call of Duty thing. Blackout works really well and is really solid, which is kind of surprising.

Charlie: Especially considering all the bells and whistles. That’s not to say it’s perfect. I have a few issues with how they built the thing and one of them is the weapon design. There are so many weapons, but I don’t know what those things are when I pick them up. They all have parts and features from other weapons I’m familiar with, but they’re all just mixed together. All of the parts on the weapon models wiggle really well when I move, but sometimes when I turn a corner things just spit confetti. I don’t know what they will do if I pull the trigger!

Austen: I think part of that is just the fact that these aren’t real guns. Some of them have real-world analogies that you might be used to, but other than that, if you haven’t kept up with the Black Ops franchise or haven’t played the multiplayer in Black Ops 4 at all, you’re really picking it up Get yourself a grab bag when you jump into Blackout. I definitely think playing the traditional competitive multiplayer has helped me a lot.

Charlie: Before the show started you told me you had some concerns with the inventory system.

Austen: I think inventory is the hardest thing in most battle royale games, but it’s also one of the most important things. You really need to feel like you can grab anything you need very quickly because of course any moment you’re standing still someone can come up behind you and kill you. I don’t think this inventory system outlines all items quickly. Everything has its own assigned slot on the HUD. Even if you’re looting a corpse, everything has its own allocated space, but it’s still a mishmash of small icons without much text. It takes a really long time to figure out what’s what and what to grab. Sometimes the menu just disappears without warning. It’s hard to deal with.

Charlie: I think this is evidence that they are evaluating the item icons and inventory system over time. One nice thing is that the weapon attachments snap right into place. If you have a gun that accepts that attachment and you pick up the attachment and there’s an open slot, it puts it right on top of your gun and I think that’s really good. Assuming you have two weapons in your inventory – a shorter-ranged weapon and a long-ranged one – you simply switch to whichever weapon you want to attach this attachment to. You pick up the attachment and pop, zoom, you’re off and running. Where it gets a bit more tedious is after you kill someone you have to open their weird duffel bag. There’s a loud zipper noise and now everyone knows you’re rummaging in someone’s pockets. You have to be sitting there with that weird menu bar at the top of the screen and it’s actually not clear enough to me.

Austen: I definitely think the whole system just needs some cleaning up. Have you tried switching mods between the weapon you are currently wielding and another weapon in your inventory? It’s a nightmare.

Gear is key

Charlie: There are also these little stunt items that you can pick up. One of those I played with was the remote control car. Another was the grappling hook. What are your experiences with some of this equipment?

Austen: They come from the other game modes that came with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Each specialist in the game has their own unique stunt they can perform. One has a grappling hook. Some have these cluster grenades that explode and spawn additional, smaller grenades. These find their way into Blackout as random gear that you can pick up around the area. I find grappling hook fights super exciting in some urban areas because when you hear someone grab behind you there are suddenly six different places they could be. It’s a really different experience than other battle royale games that might take things a little slower.

Charlie: Another part I want to be sure we’ve talked about is the endgame. I feel like I spend most of my time relearning Call of Duty after a while, but Austen, tell me how the endgame works in Blackout.

Austen: There’s a certain similarity in that you’re going to have a final zone where there’s no safe place. It will only approach a midpoint and eventually you just stand in the open air. From what I’ve played, these encounters tend to be more aggressive than something like PUBG. In this game, people tend to be a bit more stationary, a bit more afraid of fights. But in Blackout, people will want to try and they’re aggressive. That’s what makes it exciting.

Charlie: A really interesting endgame that I witnessed during the beta was watching the last two or three players dueling in the last circle. One of the remaining people kicked out the remote control car and just drives this car around the last circle. Nobody noticed and he knew where everyone was.

Austen: There’s also the sensor arrow. You shoot out this little dart and it can stick to a wall and give off a little radar ping every few seconds that shows you where people are. This kind of stuff is really interesting because it gives you a lot more information than I’m used to working in a game like this. It’s really cool and really rewards this aggressive play.
