far too few villains…

First, send out the scout.

next first villies on food and 7 more, so you have 10 on food.

next 5 villies on wood. first builds a warehouse, then he builds a house that should be built just in time for the next villain.

next 5 villies to gold. 2. Villager builds a house again.

then build 3 more villies for a temple and let them gain favor.

age with ares.

1 Favor-Villie builds 3 archery ranges and 2 barracks and finally an army, then remains of houses before returning to Favor again.

Get 5 more Villies on Wood Gold and Food in that order.

Build an army of Arkuses and Hoplites.

getting older with apollo.

build a fort or two.

Build a market for every 2 trade carts and move 3 gold bars to other resources.

grow older with artemis.

Start building more Hades special archers and send achilies to enemy base. Call on an earthquake to destroy as many buildings as possible, then the underworld tunnel. Use Harassment when you find a group of at least 6 military buildings.

Your army should consist of 2/5 toxetes or special archers 1/5 peltern and 2/5 hoplites as a meat shield.

Finally spend Favor on all Archer upgrades from Ares, Apollo and Artemis (this includes Oracle as Archer upgrade, the extra line of sight will help them find new targets faster).

Once these are researched, get the Hoplite upgrade from Ares and then buy Chimaeras.

Shadows: Use shadows with your hoplites, but you shouldn’t count them as part of your army. A shadow is no substitute for a hoplite.

final remarks

– If you are against a northman it may be an idea to invest in more hoplites to deal with raids.

– Always buy Beast Slayer. With this you deal bonus damage to special archers to heroes, all non-Greek units, all infantry and finally all myths ouch.

QUOTE (Loggy @ Jan 31 2017 9:24pm) some higher quality recorded games in EE section. Not many, but a few. It would be nice if the EELeague people shared theirs, although no one is playing Chinese there at the moment.

It’s gotten to the point where I’ve seriously considered using scriptythings to get the better worst case commands (i.e. resources spawning at max distance on opposite sides of the TC should become a math problem if you nudge it enough) on any card type. Otherwise, Boit’s videos are pretty good as always, he often leaves the observations with one player so you can see their assembly breakdown and find out what’s actually going on. The problem is that these are a bit old and for the unpatched game.

BA also has a few games on YouTube. I would venture to say that there are some streams on Twitch where people are playing at a high level on Voobly, which might help, but again there are some subtle version differences.

i feel your pain I suspect the solution being thrown around here is to get TT to look at the latest stuff, but for various reasons I’m not really ready to do that. QUOTE(Kyomaku @ Jan 31, 2017 9:57pm)

Try this thought process:

– What do I want to do?

(Why do I want to do this, is it optimal? Is there anything better I can do on this map versus this god? Why is it worse/better? Do I understand the details?)

– What do I need for this? How do I get there?

(Does the map actually spawn the necessary resources for it? Can my opponent do something that will end this build? What and why? Can I fix it?)

– Am I efficient? Could I do better?

(Are my villagers gathering efficiently? Do they spend minimal walking time to turn in resources? Will I eventually have unused TC? Could I get there faster or with more technicians? Have I gathered too much of a resource? Spend more than I actually plan to or to early before I can spend it?)

Experiment. Ask why you send a villager to one resource and not another. Don’t just copy because a pro did it, try to understand how sending a villager differently will affect your economy/building. Does it hurt the build or make it better? Why? (Same goes for Techs. What if you don’t get that Tech/a different Tech or at a different time?)

Basic guideline is that idle TC is bad. Idle Dock also sucks unless it’s by design/part of a strategy (but you should know!).

Deposited resources are only good if you’re saving up for something on purpose, otherwise you’ll want to spend things as soon as possible. If you have resources in your bank but don’t know what to spend them on, question your strategy and what you want to do and gather the resources to do it instead.

Things to do when you’ve worked out something beautiful and really want to perfect it:

Compare post-game stats of your different builds at a fixed point in time relevant to your strategy. Did you collect more resources, drop more units faster (army/civilian units?)? (How much did the map affect the difference? Be realistic)

To properly calculate this, you also need to consider the resources you are spending. If you’re comparing a build that requires techs to a build that skips them, you can subtract the differences from the total resources gathered to get an accurate comparison of how many resources each actually has available at any given time. (E.g. if you collected +300 resources in a build but spent 500 more on a tech, the build without a tech will have 200 more active resources available, but note that techs are slowly paying themselves off, so be aware of whether you actually need more active resources at this point or not)

You want to be able to answer all of these questions with confidence. experiment a lot. you will get there When you have a good idea, take notes and test them. Write down your best builds and revisit them from time to time and try to beat them (level them up!).

Maybe I missed something since it’s late and I’m feeling tired. If you have any questions just let me know, I’ll get back to you tomorrow.

How about your own construction contracts? It’s also a pretty good way to test your knowledge and find things you need to learn if you want to improve. I come with my own build orders… long after I’ve learned the basics. I need to know what has been tested and tried first before experimenting to create something of my own. I know sometimes I do other things like take 4 starter feeds with HD on Greek instead of 5 so the villagers on my starter hunt will stay on that starter hunt until I start progressing and reducing the walk time, but sometimes it gives me that’s a lot of wood too and I’m not sure what I’m doing. I tend to do better when copying a build order from someone who knows what they’re doing anyway.

QUOTE(Black Adder @ Jan 31, 2017 10:06pm)

Check out the Strategy & Tactics forum here at RTS-S, lots of BOs and even general gameplay tips from experts there – even if they were made a long time ago they’re still pretty relevant and form the general basis of this Gameplay – the balance patches don’t really touch the very early game, aside from some obvious things like Ulf Bolting, and the core principles of the game and each god don’t really change either.

I checked there. There are a few huge Isis leaders, but not much else.

Calling strats made by the best players stupid is kind of narrow-minded. The instructions point out pretty much every step.

There is a link how to download aot on my site no cd needed

This keengaming video was played on an old patch, most of the time wild boar need to be hunted, you can also use pigs. As Kyomaku said, build orders are just a helping hand. It is intended to give you an idea of what is possible. Ultimately, you want to experiment and come up with build commands that suit your playstyle. My builds and strats have helped a lot of people through 1800-2000 on EE and are an easy way to get good at aot. the music lyrics guides are for beginners and will easily get you to 1800-1900 ee if you follow them. Check out Build Order Match-Ups in Playlists for more in-depth guides. They go into matchups and have more advanced builds. Also check out the playlist games with live commentary featuring Isis and Kronos. Those who use advanced builds to call strats made by the best players dumb are kind of narrow-minded. The instructions point out every step pretty clearly. On my website there is a link how to download aot without cd. Keenclan.net

lol, i will not pirate the game. Even if there are wild boars to hunt on Medit, they are usually so far away from the TC that you have to build a granary. and besides, there really aren’t that many builds on your channel. They don’t even have the Zeus standard high-hunting building code, just one with no hounds and one on the water where you’ll literally find an aurochs right next to your town center.

What is your main and what is your rating from an EE?

1791. I haven’t lost a single ranked game yet, so I think I can go even higher.
