Guide to Big Win Baseball: Tips, tricks, cheats, hints and strategies
From Hothead Games, the creators of Big Win Soccer and Big Win Hockey, comes the new Big Win Baseball, a smash hit card battle baseball game for iPhone, iPad and Android. Grow your team from a crappy little amateur franchise to a major league powerhouse by leveling up your player cards, boosting the stats on the cards you already have, and using power-up cards to your full advantage. In the meantime, however, nobody wants to lose all the time, so read on for some great tips and tricks to improve your team!
If you’re trying to level up your team early in the game, take the unusual step of throwing your games into Quickplay mode. Your team win-loss record will suffer, but it’s very easy to make it up in this game. Deliberately refuse to play high impact cards. In the daily pennant, you will be paired against another team based on your levels. So the reason for throwing games is that you can still earn coins but not fans so you can buy better card packs early and get the strongest team there is for your level.
If you’re playing a whole bunch of games and somehow find you’ve run out of power (it’s that little bar in the bottom left corner), click out of the game, go to your device’s time settings and set the time just a little bit ahead – half an hour to an hour or so. Now head back to the game and you’ll have a good chunk of your energy back.
The number of Big Impact cards you should use per game depends on two things: the color of the card (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum of course) and the type of card it is. For example, if it’s a card that affects all of your players or all of your opposing team’s players (e.g. something related to pitching or fielding and throwing), you can get away with using less of a card, than you would have used a small impact card, such as one that helps make tight plays more often. And if you’re using a silver card against a player using three bronze cards (or better yet, using a gold card), you can VERY easily get away with just one.

Big Win Sports September Summary
September’s review of the number of active teams in the five big win sports brought us a surprising increase in football teams over the past few months, almost triple the recent results. The start of the football season and the link to Facebook did their job here. Good for our soccer players who have taken the top spot before soccer. All other sports followed the downward trend, with no real new things implemented by Hothead in the past month.
Seannis wins basketball playoff week
With a 4-2 series win over the AussieMavs, the “Seannies” won our September basketball week, stopping three-time champions Scouser in a row to win four in a row. NEXT organized event starts in a week and is for SOCCER. At the beginning of November we are planning our first FOOTBALL event in a long time. “Although we speculated that hidden abilities would exist to play a positive role in game results, apart from TRJ’s suggestions with a huge amount of samples, no one could really say that it definitely exists or not, maybe because a A 100 skill player plays just as well as a 107 skill player most of the time.”
But by measuring how running skill affects player speed, it would be relatively easier to tell the difference even between 107 and 100 if the hidden skills are there because all you have to do is find a specific one Divide the distance a player runs, if measurable, with the time it takes them to get there.
In soccer and hockey, it is difficult to measure the speed of players because they don’t just follow a straight line, but walk back and forth to chase the ball. However, in baseball, there is only one way to get to the bases. Players walk in a straight line to get to a base and turn 90 degrees when they want to aim for an additional base.
So here I measured the time it took a player to round bases when hitting an HR.
Player 1 – Speed 107 = 9.18 seconds
Player 2 – Speed 104 = 9.23 seconds
Player3 – Speed 100 = 9.37 seconds
To confirm if hidden abilities still matter when a game changer impacts them positively, I used the Extra Base gold card, which speeds up every player on my team.
Player 1* – Speed 107 = 8.25 seconds
Player 2* – Speed 104 = 8.29 seconds
Player 3* – Speed 100 = 8.38 seconds.
There may have been some human error since I timed each of these times by clicking on the stopwatch as players hit the ball and stopping it as they rounded all bases. But I made sure to minimize all of these errors by measuring each case at least five times.
So there it is. There are hidden abilities, although I’d like to measure the difference between run 107 and run 112, but baseball doesn’t have a chemistry bonus system yet. In MLB, there is the chemistry bonus, so skills can go up to 112. However, I’m wondering if anyone is willing to try this?
Enthon’s tips to save big
As promised a few days ago, I want to share with you my personal golden rules for saving bucks in Big Win Sports. This is certainly an article for less-skilled or wealthy players trying to survive Hothead’s customer-unfriendly gaming revenues, and links directly to my most recent post, The House Always Wins, a little further down this page.
What you should and shouldn’t do to keep your bankroll in decent shape!
1. AVOID FRIENDS / QUICK MATCHES – Just cost your money and get nothing. Check the table below to see how much each game has cost you.
2. AVOID EXTRA ENERGY – Play evenly throughout the day – Each match you play with extra energy costs you $2.50 that you have to earn extra.
3. FOCUS ON PER TROPHIES – Don’t play too many Amateur Trophies if you’re not into trophy hunting at all – The cost/reward ratio of amateur trophy matches is extremely poor!
4. AVOID PLAYING GAMES AT ALL – Sounds weird, but it means you shouldn’t play games with trophies that don’t get you to a decent score (TOP 3). If you can’t get a top spot, don’t invest gold impact cards or contracts to keep playing.
5. COMPLETION REWARD – Playing for the anyway small completion reward (5-10BB) is only good if you get a positive result. Means if you need to play 4 extra games in a Pro 20 to get the 10 dollars for completing all the trophy games, remember that the contract cost, for example in soccer, is already 9.2 dollars to complete the games play even if you don’t play a gold impact card.
6. CONTRACTS – In Soccer and Hockey, using 30(+) Standard Contract cards is cheaper than buying Big Contracts, although you will need to reward your players more frequently. Soccer might work too, but you’ll need to open a lot more Bronze Booster Packs as the deployment rate of the standard 30+ contracts set by Hothead is lower.
7. GOLD COMBINATIONS – Try to find appropriate impact blue card combinations or one gold/two blue card combinations that still offer a decent number of wins. You might not top the trophy leaderboards, but you’ll run your team with much lower running costs.
8. REMEMBER the table below whenever you start a game!

Well, there’s a lot of opinion about the structure Hothead uses to run the Big Win Sports Series, and one of the hottest topics is often how to survive the horrible and indeed customer-hostile payout system for winning trophies without much Invest real money when buying Big Bucks from the store.
The easy answer you can’t if you want to win as many trophies as possible! As we all know, Hothead has consistently reduced the payout structure for winning trophies downwards in the past, which was the latest major failure recently, removing big cash earnings entirely from 4th and 5th place in trophies. The chance of surviving with your bankroll and at the same time being successful in the game has actually gone to zero. To understand what I’m talking about, I’ve put together some simple diagrams to show you what I mean.
In general, it comes down to how many bucks you can earn playing Big Win Sports Apps compared to the bucks you have to spend to finish at least the top 3 of a trophy and get some earnings back from Hothead. Ignore extra bucks that you might want to invest to buy better players or qualify them, there are at least three things you need to invest bucks on a regular basis: Impact Cards, Contracts, and Fountain of Youth.
Of course, it’s up to you how many Gold Impact cards ($2.50 each) you want to play per game, so my charts below show all levels, from just three blues to the most expensive three Gold Impact cards for every game. It should be mentioned that along with Big Win Hockey, Gold Impact Cards have a strong impact on your win rate. That means if you play more (good combos of course) of these, you’ll win more games and hopefully more trophies and more bucks.
Regardless of which combination of blue (cheap) and gold (expensive) impact cards you decide to play the player contract side of things, nothing will change. Once you’ve found and qualified good players for your team, you need to keep them playing to avoid ongoing investment in new players. To do this, you can use the cheap Standard Contracts (Green) or the more expensive Big Contracts (Gold). Considering the Hotheads deployment rate of 30+ Green Contracts in Bronze Boosters, you can keep your team with those in Football and Hockey and with a little more effort open up a larger number of booster packs for Big Win Soccer as well. It doesn’t really work in basketball due to the dire lack of 30+ contract cards in packs. Anyhow, keep in mind that using smaller contracts will put your players into retirement much sooner (after 6 renewals) and you’ll have to pay about twice as much for a fountain of youth to keep them as using large contracts (60 games on average). Now if you compare both systems, please note that there is not much difference for your running costs in basketball and hockey, which means that you have to pay almost the same for both types of contract renewal strategies. In football, given the large number of players in your teams, it’s still a bit cheaper to use the standard contract cards with a few extra wells.
With that in mind, I would like to draw your attention to the results of my investigation in the two charts below.
Diagram 1 assumes you play all possible games during a week (7 days x 60 = 420 games, = 4 trophies per day). It shows you the maximum Big Bucks you can earn by winning all 28, 20 or at least 10 trophies compared to your required Big Bucks investment.
The result is quite sobering when you see that winning all the trophies in a week, which certainly requires playing only the best gold card combinations, forces you to win between $1,000 and $2,500 on top of what you can win invest prize money. Considering that most of the top teams on the leaderboard are capable of between 22 and 26 wins, in reality the gap is slightly larger. In order to keep your bankroll, even the hottest sports need to win about 15 trophies a week using only one Gold Impact Card per game. Good luck on this mission! By the way, as you can see from the table, Hotheads structure offers football and soccer players the worst odds and more expensive mission while basketball is the less bad one.
OK, one could say that Hothead’s ridiculously low payout of bucks for winning an amateur trophy makes matters worse. Fair Call and that’s why I looked again at Scenario B, means just playing the weekly PRO trophies and staying away from amateur events. Table 2 below assumes you only play PRO tournaments during a week (7 days x 30 = 210 games, = 2 trophies per day). It shows you the maximum amount of Big Bucks you can earn by winning all 14, 10 or just 5 trophies compared to the Big Bucks investment required.
So you’re right, if you win all 14 PRO trophies during a week, you’ll end up with a small win in your wallet even if you play three Gold Impact Cards in each match. Simple, but you have to think about your own PROs in the last few weeks. The reality is that these trophies are harder to come by than amateurs since many teams only play for the Bucks. On average, a top team only gets 10-12 trophies per week. If we look at the blue income line for winning 10 trophies, we see that we can now only play two golds per game to keep our bankroll at the same level. If we play three we have to invest between 300 and 500 dollars per week ($ 5 / euro). .
OK, if you aim for a top position on the leaderboard, play all trophies and full speed (3 gold / match all trophies). In football, that means investing 16,600 big bucks a month and even more in football. Grab the max prize of 10,500 Big Bucks and you still have to buy 6,000 BB in store ($24/month if you buy the cheapest 30,000 BB deal) or pay 9,000 on a realistic top team approach (prize ~ 7,500 BB). BB per month to Hothead for playing the game ($36/month). It’s worth noting that Hothead hasn’t run any store promotions reducing the 5,000 or 30,000 packs for a long time, and with good reason. Well, success and fun must be worth it, but so much? If you don’t have a properly stocked wallet at home, you might be looking for cheaper games to have fun. Unfortunately, this is already the case as we are seeing the number of regulars drop dramatically each month, but Hothead seems to be reading the situation correctly and is attempting to counteract this in a reasonable manner by raising the price of a Big Rush Pack from 10 to 25 bucks increased. However, you can’t change how the apps are marketed, but at least I can try to help you save a few bucks until the next hothead ax cuts the pie again.
