A pill, colloquially known as a bobble, fuzzball, or fluff ball, is a small ball of fibers that forms on a piece of cloth. Pill is also a verb for the formation of such balls.[1][2]

The name can be considered appropriate when comparing their small head (3mm diameter shank) to a borer (fruit seed with hook) or their teeth to a metal borer.
