This does not mean that you should overdo it with optimism and optimism. Be authentic. It’s not easy being optimistic 24/7.

Sometimes it’s hard to look ahead, especially when we’re constantly preoccupied with work, bills, family, and our thoughts. But planning and looking forward to the future is good for our mental health. When the world seems unpredictable, all we have to do is keep our vision flexible and be ready for change.

Luckily, many effective manifestation techniques will help you focus on where you want to be in the future. Here are some ways to get started:

1. Create a vision board

Putting your goals together with pictures and words on a vision board is a great way to let your mind wander. Hang your board somewhere where you will see it every day. Seeing your vision board is a great reminder to keep going.

2. Start journaling

Journaling gives you a safe place to record your thoughts, concerns, and goals without judgment. You can always be yourself on paper. You can keep a gratitude journal to remind yourself of what you are grateful for or a manifestation journal to focus on what you want to achieve.

Also, you can always go back to your journal and reflect on how far you’ve come and what goals you’ve achieved.

You can also try scripting. It tricks your brain into thinking you’ve already gotten what you want. Write a journal entry from your future self’s point of view. Describe how you feel like you’ve landed your dream job, met your soulmate, or won a six-figure salary.

3. Say positive affirmations

Ever heard of the Wonder Woman pose? It’s when you stand in a superhero position and sing positive things to yourself. I have this. I am worthy of my dreams. I’m constantly learning. I will succeed.

It may sound cheesy. But for people who struggle with self-criticism and automatic negative thoughts, it’s an effective way to retrain thought patterns.

Repeating these affirmations on consecutive days, superhero position or not, trains your mind to automatically think positively. It will help you boost your confidence. You can practice repeating affirmations every morning or before your stressful events – like tests, presentations, or difficult conversations.

4. Try the pillow method

This transfers your positive affirmations into your sleep. Write your dreams down and put them under your pillow before bed.

The theory behind the pillow method is that your final thoughts of the day help shift your subconscious beliefs in a gradual but powerful way. Your dreams will improve and you will feel better.

Is there anything special about putting them under your pillow? no But writing things down before bed can help clear your mind, and a positive bedtime ritual can change your mindset.

5. Think outside the box

There’s nothing wrong with staying in our comfort zones. But if you become curious and push those boundaries, you will grow and learn. You will discover new possibilities. Start with small steps and work your way up to bigger ones.

Thomas Jefferson said, “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” Those words ring true. Action ensures progress.

6. Surround yourself with positivity

Being around like-minded and supportive people can help you maintain a healthy mindset.

When you fail or make a mistake, you have a safety net ready to meet you with open, loving arms. This is better than being greeted with negative energy.

While a positive support system is great, forced positivity isn’t helpful. Toxic positivity is when people force an optimistic attitude and refuse to see negative or negative sides regardless of what is happening around them.

Real life has ups and downs. Ups and downs. Some days you will be scared or unhappy. Unexpected obstacles and setbacks will happen. Surround yourself with people who can be with you and help you find your way back up.

However, sometimes people find that their manifestation backfires and they end up with the exact opposite of what they wanted. Instead of getting the thing you want, it all just seems to explode in your face and you’re left worse off than before. Ouch! Let’s explore why this might happen.

There can be many reasons why your manifestation didn’t work, but what about the times it seems to go catastrophically wrong? Instead of getting what you want, everything seems to explode in your face and you’re worse off than you were before. Ouch! Of course you would ask, can manifesting backfire and why is it happening to me?

Manifesting can backfire when your belief system doesn’t align with what you want and when you manifest from a negative mindset that inevitably has negative outcomes due to the Law of Attraction.

In order to manifest what you want in life, you must first know exactly what you want and believe it is possible. You must have faith that you can achieve your goal and then take action to make it happen. You must also desire that the highest good of all involved in your manifestation be done.

When these things are missing, people find that their manifestation backfires and they end up having the exact opposite of what they wanted.

Let’s take a closer look at why this is happening and how to fix it!

Why your manifestation backfired

1. You believe that if something good happens, something bad must happen

Self-sabotage is a big reason manifesting can backfire.

When manifestation goes wrong, it can just boil down to believing that every time something good happens, the other shoe has to fall and something bad has to happen, because that’s the rule you live by.

Our subconscious will always make our beliefs true, and even if the conscious really wants something because it sees how beneficial it would be, we might have a belief that we aren’t even aware of that says that’s what we want , is taboo to us.

Usually, these limiting beliefs are formed in childhood when we simply don’t have the life experience to understand why something we’re told or a lesson we’ve learned isn’t the truth.

So it’s not that your manifestation “backfired,” but that you have something in your subconscious that resists what you want, or you have a belief that whenever something good happens, something bad must follow.

Because we are always looking for evidence that our beliefs are true (whether we are aware of those beliefs or not), we will either create a problem or we will find a problem in the world and make it our own.

So if you find that when things are going well, there’s a lot of drama that ensues, it’s time to address your belief system.

2. You manifest from your ego and not your intuition

It is possible that if you act from your ego rather than your intuition, the manifestation can backfire.

Your ego’s job is to keep you safe, but it has a primitive definition of safety (from the old days when we lived in caves). To feel safe you usually need to be accepted by your peers or you need to believe that you are very important and powerful and you definitely need to avoid the unknown where there are man-eating lions, tigers and bears – oh my God!

So if you want to manifest something, the ego might say, “No, uh, we’ve never done that, it’s probably super dangerous, so I have to find a way to sabotage that to protect myself.” Out of necessity out to protect you, the ego will create chaos.

You may also want to manifest something just to please or impress other people, to gain the approval and acceptance of your peers. Because this thing isn’t an authentic desire, it won’t make you happy and it can blow up in your face.

As you learn to listen to your intuition, you will find that you are manifesting things for the right reason and it won’t kaboom.

3. You wanted to control someone

Some manifestation teachers will tell you that you can change or control people with manifestations, but this is actually an ego driven belief and can go very wrong.

Since we all have free will, we cannot force anyone to do anything using just our thoughts, we would have to manipulate or physically force them.

Just intending to make someone love you, do something for you, or behave a certain way will always hurt you more than they do.

At first you will fail and be disappointed. Second, you risk damaging your relationship with that person. Third, focusing on the things you need to change about other people only attracts more people who “need to be changed.”

Learn what to do instead of trying to use manifestations to change people.

Instead, find out what needs to be changed or healed within YOU. As you engage in inner healing, the things you want will begin to manifest naturally and the things you don’t want will fall out of your life.

4. You wanted to harm someone

This probably goes without saying, but trying to harm someone through manifestation will always come back and bite you in the butt.

In addition to the law of attraction, there are many other laws of the universe. The law of cause and effect, also known as karma, is one that can cause your manifestation to backfire.

If you intend or take action to hurt someone, you will be hurt. Likewise, if you help someone just to help them (not because you want something in return), then you will attract help when you are in need.

Everything you do to other people, you do to yourself.

That doesn’t mean you can’t seek justice when someone hurts you, but wanting to hurt someone because you’re feeling bitter and hateful will hurt you even more.

Look within and ask how you can heal yourself instead of trying to ease the pain by causing pain to others.

In summary, Manifestation is a powerful tool that can help you achieve your goals, but it’s important to be aware of the Law of Attraction and how it works. If you’re not careful, you may manifest what you don’t want instead of what you do.

Just like clinging too hard to a relationship can push it away, clinging too hard to your desire can keep it from manifesting and create feelings of fear and anxiety around not having it yet.

Today we’re going to examine the real reasons why manifesting isn’t working the way you want it to yet, and how to fix them.

If manifestation hasn’t worked for you yet, it boils down to two things: timing and your beliefs. Some things can just take time to be perfect for us. It can be frustrating, but trust that the result is exactly what you need.

Your beliefs and way of thinking must align with your desire on both a conscious and subconscious level, otherwise you will resist its manifestation without even being aware of it.

I’ve been working on all of these things for the past year and especially the past month and I’ve seen tremendous results. This month I manifested an additional $500 which I particularly attribute to reasons #1 and #6.

It’s not because the Law of Attraction isn’t working or there’s something wrong with you, it’s just about changing the way we think and act in simple but meaningful ways.

Manifesting is the art of tapping into the energy or power of the universe to create the life desired. You send your intent to the universe, then you feel and act as if you already have what you desire. The universe then works to help you make your desires a reality.

You have to believe it’s possible or you’ll block what you want. You may think that the law of attraction doesn’t work, but in fact it sends you what’s in your subconscious, which is your desires that aren’t possible for you.

1. Your limiting beliefs are getting in the way

You are what you think you are.

Do you think you can manifest your dreams? If you don’t, that’s why the manifestation isn’t working for you.

Do you think you are worthy of your dreams? If you do not believe that you are worthy of your desires, you will not receive them. If you doubt that your dreams are possible, they won’t be.

You create your own resistance to the manifestation of your dream.

Have you ever watched someone complain about the same thing over and over again? Nothing ever changes for them because they are stuck in a negative loop of their own creation, and constant complaining attracts more reasons to complain. When you finally break out of the loop, you can take action and change things.

It’s so easy to get stuck in negative thought patterns that just create the same repeating cycle. As I mentioned in How to Change Your Limiting Beliefs, many of these patterns are learned in childhood, but you can break them and retrain your brain to be your biggest supporter instead of your biggest critic.

Put yourself in the mindset of the future you already have what you asked for. Act as that person acts, feel what they feel. BE that person. They didn’t get there by staying in the same pessimistic and negative cycle, did they?

When doubts arise, correct them immediately by repeating a positive thought. Arm yourself with empowering affirmations or mantras that you repeat daily. Affirmations are like an antivirus for your brain. They prevent negative thoughts from taking over your mind.

2. You are clingy

One of the reasons you may have trouble manifesting your desires is that you are too attached to the outcome.

Just as clinging too tightly to a relationship can repress it, clinging too tightly to your desire can prevent it from manifesting and create feelings of fear and worry because you don’t have it yet.

Being too attached to outcome comes from dealing with what you don’t already have, rather than vigorously embodying the person who already has what you want.

I’m definitely guilty of focusing way too much on what I want, like a kid who repeatedly asks their parents, “Are we there yet?” until they get angry and stop the car or worse, reverse and bring you back to where you started.

You cannot focus so much on the bottom line that you forget to live in the moment, you might miss important signs and opportunities from the universe.

You have to let go of the result. Know what you want, send your intention out into the universe and let it go.

This short exercise will help you release your attachment.

3. You obsess over how and when to manifest what you want

It’s perfectly natural to want things “now” as we live in a world of almost instant gratification. Many of us also like to be in control of how and when things happen. But if you don’t have a magic lamp (please send it to me when you’re done!), you can’t make things happen right away.

When you send your desires out into the universe, you must relinquish control and trust that things will happen at the time and in the way that is best for you.

Has worrying about why my manifestations aren’t working ever brought them to you quicker? In my experience this is not the case and it shows that you don’t really trust that it will happen for you.

Being impatient because your manifesting isn’t working can also cause you to give up just before the magic happens.

Instead of looking for signs that your manifestation isn’t working, let go and trust.

It takes some time and practice to learn how to let go of this desire, knowing how and when, so don’t feel bad about asking yourself, just gently redirect your thoughts and feelings and bring the feeling to say that it’s already done.

4. You’re stuck in a “lacking” mindset

If you approach manifestation from a place where you feel like you don’t have enough, then that will get in your way.

People either have a growth mentality or a scarcity mentality. Guess which group attracts more abundance and happiness? People with a growth mindset!

Now, people with a growth mentality no longer attract good things because their life is already perfect, but because their mindset doesn’t shut off the possibilities for growth, abundance, wealth, and happiness. They appreciate what they already have, but know they have and can do more.

When you ask the universe for more while believing you will never really get it, you are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Opportunities will be all around you, but you won’t even see them because deep down you believe that you are powerless and stuck in your current circumstances forever.

Which of these sounds like a better way to ask the universe for more wealth?

“I want money because I’m broke, everything sucks and I have nothing.”

Or,

“I’m so grateful for what I already have, but I want more income because it will further enrich my life and allow me to do even more good things for myself, my loved ones and the world.”

5. You take no action to manifest your desires

Manifesting doesn’t mean that what you want comes to you on a silver platter. Yes, sometimes things seem to come out of the blue, but sometimes you have to act when the universe tells you to.

Previously we talked about how constant complaints attract more reasons to complain, the same concept applies here. If you’re just sitting around waiting for what you want to manifest, what do you attract? wait more.

Manifesting doesn’t work because YOU don’t work. This doesn’t mean that you have to fight, but that you look for or create opportunities and seize them.

If you want to manifest a healthier body, you need to make time to cook healthier meals and move your body.

If you want to manifest money, you need to look for other sources of income or ask for a raise.

It is important to visualize your desire, but you must meet the universe halfway through your actions. Like attracts like, so if you make an effort, the universe will match your effort.

Imagine your ideal self and your future. Did Future You get there by sitting around and wondering why manifesting isn’t working for me? No, you took action and you did it in small increments every day. Their ideal self didn’t wait for Monday or next week, they started today and they kept going.

Be the person who takes action.

6. Your environment is toxic

Manifesting is about creating positive energy to tap into the power of the universe. One of the biggest factors in your energy is your environment.

When you’re drowning in clutter or a messy home, not only does it block good energy, it also stifles your creativity. Just as flowers don’t thrive when smothered by weeds, ideas don’t thrive when smothered in disorder.

Now some people thrive on “tidying up clutter,” and that’s okay! Just think about when this organized mess becomes overwhelming.

Whenever I feel like manifesting isn’t working for me, I realize that my surroundings aren’t letting positive energy flow. Last week I literally did a ton of goodwill and organized some big things and suddenly I had new ideas AND an unexpected increase in my income!

Create a beautiful space where you can feel peaceful and inspired.

A toxic environment can also result from being around negative, toxic people. People who complain all the time, who try to bring you down, who don’t contribute, or who pull their own weight.

There’s a saying, “You’re the 5 people you spend the most time with.” When you know these people aren’t good for you, it’s time to pull the weeds out.

This may sound harsh, but the only person who will take care of you is YOU. And I promise you, there are people out there who will inspire you and lift you up instead of dragging you down. If you get your energy right, you will attract it into your life.

7. Your vibration is low

Something important to manifestation that is not covered as much is the law of vibration. Every molecule in the universe vibrates at its own frequency, including yours. We know that different types of thoughts and feelings activate different parts of the brain, and activating different parts of the brain changes your vibration.

The law of attraction states that like attracts like. So if you are vibrating at a lower frequency because of your thoughts, what are you manifesting? Low vibration results. It’s no wonder manifesting isn’t working for you, is it?

Step 1: Be thankful for what you already have

The first step to scripting is to be thankful for what you already have.

Gratitude is one of the highest vibrational energies according to the Emotional Guidance Scale.

So, starting your letter with words of appreciation will align you with the creative forces of the universe.

Get out your manifestation journal and write down 3 things you are grateful for and how good they make you feel. (You can also script on your phone or laptop if you prefer.)

The more you embody the feeling of gratitude, the more your desires will be supported.

Step 2: Describe what you want to manifest

The second step to scripting is to describe what you want to manifest.

That’s the best thing about scripting. Let your imagination run wild and create the experience you want to manifest.

If you want to manifest multiple things, just pick one to focus on for each script.

As I teach my Manifestation Course, the best way to manifest is to focus on one thing at a time.

So take the time to write down the desire you wish to manifest.

Expand the script by using your five senses to describe the experience and add specific details.

The more specific you are, the easier it will be to get a feel for what it’s like to experience your desire.

Step 3: Clarify how it makes you feel

The third step to scripting is to clarify how your desire makes you feel.

Think about your desire and how you feel as if you have already manifested it.

As discussed in my book on manifestation, Feeling Good, your emotion is your barometer for identifying your vibration.

According to the law of vibration, everything in the universe, including your feelings and emotions, is made of energy vibrating at a specific frequency.

And by the Law of Attraction, energies of similar vibrations are drawn together.

So the key to manifesting what you want is to identify the feeling you want to experience and align yourself with it.

Start a new paragraph below what you wrote in Step 2 and write down the positive vibes you want to feel.

Use the Emotional Guidance Scale to identify the high-vibrational emotions you can align with to manifest what you want.

Remember that the higher the vibration, the more positive something is.

Step 4: Be open to other possibilities

The fourth step to scripting is to be open to other possibilities.

One of the biggest mistakes in scripting is getting too attached to the desired outcome.

While you may have a very accurate picture of what you want, be sure to tell the universe that you are receptive to whatever opportunities are available to you.

Don’t let your attachment to a particular outcome get in the way of your manifestation.

Your desire can manifest in ways you could never have imagined.

By staying open to the infinite possibilities that are out there, you become receptive to whatever situations, opportunities, and people lead you to where you want to be.

Express your belief in the plan of the universe by writing this powerful mantra: “I commit my timelines, agendas and plans to the care of the universe. I trust that everything will develop for the highest good of all. I know I will manifest this or something better.”

Step 5: Thank the Universe

The final step in scripting is to thank the Universe for this opportunity to co-create your reality.

The universe always conspires to guide you to solutions that are everyone’s highest good.

So thank the Universe for this amazing opportunity to co-create your desire with this prayer of gratitude: “Thank you Universe for your loving guidance and support. I am so grateful for this opportunity to co-create my desires with you. I am open to universal guidance, spiritual solutions and creative ideas. I will step back and let you show the way.”

Ending the letter with more gratitude will raise your vibration even more and bring you into vibrational alignment with the creative forces of the universe.

Read the script again, and then let the inspirational words boost your energy.

Keep it in a safe place and re-read it from time to time to get back in tune with your cravings.

It’s not about the quantity, it’s about the change that occurs in your mindset.

Ideally, you want to practice using your imagination to focus on what you want, not what you don’t want.

You should script at least 40 days when manifesting a new desire.

This consistent practice will help train your mind to focus on opportunities instead of obstacles.

Switching to Any Anime: Questions for Your Script

Here we’re going to do it a little differently, answering the questions instead of asking them – to show you how.

My name is Suki. I’m slim and 5′ 3′ tall. I have purple hair. I’m 15 years old.

I’m a student at Six Dragons High School and I’m good at chemistry, but my true love is literature. I’m a bit of a nerd, but the cute, cool kind that most of my classmates get along with.

My close friends are Fumiko, Rin and Mirai. I am in love with Akari. She doesn’t know it yet, but she also has a secret crush on me.

Are you wondering if it’s okay to enter your manifestations? Read this post to learn what happens when you type your script into your phone and how it affects your manifestation.

Can you manifest through typing? The answer is yes; You can write your manifestation journal on any platform or in any format.

As long as you feel every word you write and read it every night before bed, it’s the last thing your mind processes and registers in your subconscious while you sleep.

Personally, I prefer a handwritten journal, but typing on your phone notes works too.

The key to manifesting is your feelings and beliefs. You don’t even technically have to write anything down if you have faith.

Techniques and methods are essentially used to reprogram your subconscious to increase your belief and belief in your manifestation.

In that regard, I prefer the handwritten version because it moves more slowly. This is purely a matter of personal preference.

Let’s dive in.

Does typing on your phone work when manifesting?

The short answer is YES, you can manifest by tapping on your phone as long as you are in vibrational alignment with what you wish to manifest.

It’s the same as typing it on your computer or writing it on a piece of paper. It has nothing to do with the ink on the paper or the pixels on the screen.

It’s all about you and what you think.

People who are more experienced with LOA recommend pen and paper as phones and computers can be distracting with all that background noise.

That being said, it really doesn’t matter if you have the mindset that makes you a vibrational match and if you have the focus to manifest.

It could be written on a napkin and then blown into it and it would still manifest.

In my opinion the act of writing is so intentional. It connects body and mind in a way that typing cannot.

Because typing is streamlined and much faster than writing, I think it’s better for people who want to expand their ideas and get detailed.

However, I believe that writing it down is beneficial for people who do not yet know what they want or have not yet felt their desire.

Perhaps a combination of the two would help some people be more specific about what they want and how they want it.

How do you manifest in the Notes app?

The steps to manifest on your phone are the same as creating a manifestation journal on paper.

The only difference is that for one you write a paper manifestation journal and for the other you enter your manifestations directly into your phone.

Below are the 5 steps to manifesting in Notes app or on your phone in general:

1. Decide what you want to manifest.

The first step in manifesting in Notes is to be absolutely sure what you want to manifest.

It is extremely difficult to manifest unless you are 100 percent sure of what you wish to manifest.

To attract the experiences you are looking for, you must first define what you are looking for.

Journaling is the best way I’ve found to gain clarity about your thoughts and desires.

So get out your journal or phone and make a manifestation list of whatever you want to manifest. Then just choose one.

Remember, the more specific you are, the easier it will be for you to visualize your desire in Step 3.

2. Define the reasons for this desire.

The second step in manifesting on your phone is to be completely honest with yourself about your intentions.

This is a crucial step because manifesting is about your emotions.

The key to manifesting through typing in the Notes app is to feel the positive feelings that craving brings, as if you’re actually experiencing it, rather than thinking about the craving itself.

So start a new paragraph below what you wrote in step 1 and ask yourself why you want to manifest that particular thing and write down your answer.

The “why” behind your desire is crucial here because it determines whether you will achieve positive or negative results.

In other words, your intentions determine whether your desire will manifest.

3. Start typing.

The next step in manifesting in the Notes app is to write down (or type out) how you feel about already having achieved that goal.

If you’re having trouble with this step, consider all the ways that achieving your goal will improve your life.
