Should I pay for Tinder Gold?

Is Tinder Gold Worth it? Our testing indicates yes, it is worth it. Not only will you get extra features (like Tinder Passport) or unlimited swiping: But you also appear to get more Tinder matches than a free account.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

First off, what is Tinder Gold anyway?

Basically, it’s an upgraded Tinder account that offers you some premium features.

It’s similar to Tinder Plus but takes it a step further.

I.e. more expensive.

With Tinder Gold you get:

Unlimited Likes.

See who likes you before you swipe.

One free Tinder Boost per month (Become the top profile in your area for 30 minutes.)

5 super likes per day.

No more ads.

Unlimited swipe reversals.

Tinder Passport to swipe around the world.

Also limit what others can see on your profile.

No more matches

Did you notice what’s missing?

If you swipe on the same number of people, Tinder Gold shouldn’t bring you more matches.

It just gives you more profiles to swipe to in a day.

So you could get more matches by swiping more:

But it shouldn’t get you more matches if you swipe as many times as you would on a non-paid account.

Remember: if you swipe the same as a vanilla account, you should get the same number of matches.

surprise surprise

All of this begged the question:

Is Tinder Gold worth using like a “free” account?

Remember, if you’re not getting matches on Tinder, a Tinder Gold account won’t help.

After all that, I wanted to see if my hypothesis was correct.

And frankly, the results will surprise you.

Is Bumble better than Tinder?

Bumble is better than Tinder if you’re looking for a serious relationship. The matches are of higher quality overall, and many of the women you’ll find on the app are “meet-the-parents-ready” marriage material. Bumble was started by one of Tinder’s founders who wanted to create a more “women-friendly” app.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

They want to meet the best local singles, so it makes sense to start with the two apps that draw them in droves. But if you’re just looking at Tinder vs Bumble, which is the better option?

Unless you have a team of dating experts doing everything for you, you may not have the time or energy to manage both apps at the same time.

After all, the average guy spends up to 90 minutes a day swiping and messaging on Tinder alone. And on Bumble, guys have to nail their profiles and photos because only women can initiate a message exchange.

Check out this head-to-head comparison and pick a winner in the Tinder vs. Bumble debate:

facts at a glance

Both of these popular apps are also available as dating sites, which means you can get in from any device, including your laptop. Tinder Online even has a handy “work mode” to use when you’re interrupted by a colleague swiping at work.

Both also allow you to link social media to your dating profile, especially Instagram and Spotify. This is a great way to add even more depth to your Tinder & Bumble profile.

While there are exceptions to every rule, knowing what you’re looking for can help answer the Bumble vs Tinder question. For example, if you’re looking for a short-term fling or casual dating, Tinder is basically for everyone.

Tinder vs. Bumble: quality over quantity

Victory goes to Bumble.

Bumble is better than Tinder if you are looking for a serious relationship.

The matches are of a higher quality overall, and many of the women you’ll find on the app are meet-the-parents-ready marriage material.

Bumble was started by one of Tinder’s founders who wanted to create a more “female-friendly” app. Women aren’t bombarded with unwanted messages, so the app tends to attract women looking for something more serious.

Tinder Vs Bumble: Dating Pool

Tinder wins hands down.

Tinder is better than Bumble if you just look at the sheer number of potential matches.

As part of the Match Group portfolio, Tinder is more popular than Bumble. You have the potential to meet more women, especially if you are in a more rural area where there are few Bumble users.

And upgrading to TinderPlus gives you the ability to manually change your location so you can keep swiping and matching up with all those pretty city girls.

But there are more men than girls on Tinder 2:1, so you have competition for the most attractive women in your area. These icebreaker messages have perfect “10s” that respond in no time.

Tinder is also better than Bumble if you’re on the lower end of the relationship spectrum. While you’ll find women looking for everything from one-night stands to long-term relationships, it’s probably easier to find the former on Tinder than on Bumble.

Tinder Vs Bumble: Start the Conversation

If you’re looking for someone else to start the conversation, stick with Bumble.

On Bumble, only women can send the first message – you sit back and wait for her to come to you. So if you’ve ever been told you qualify for man dime status, Bumble is the way to go.

But if you’re counting on your chat game to win them over with a hilarious message, stick with Tinder.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

james30k0 ,

I have to be honest, the app’s platform is good and 100 percent free, but there are way too many fake people here and a bunch of scammers, all the girls I’ve met here are fake. Don’t blame them for the scammer’s fake profile. If you want to try the app again, do the same, but be very careful… and the other thing I didn’t like was that all 10 states are remote from you or there are from another country and pretend they live in the states. One girl wrote that she has her own business on her profile and when I ask her later she told me she doesn’t work, she just moved from one state to another state and she has no family just her daughter . Well you know where this is going. .I spoke to another girl and wow she was good she said everything you want in a girl. I couldn’t believe this when I asked her if she wanted to exchange phone numbers she wanted me to download this con app and wanted my information. So I looked into the app and everyone said stay away from this app it’s a big scam but she said if you download the app and give me your information I will keep talking to you, true doesn’t happen …so I decided to delete the app…I don’t blame the developers…this app could be so much better, they have the right idea but 95 percent of the girls here are wrong…so that’s my opinion…for the developers if you can figure out how to fix this problem it would be a good app…

The best dating apps of the moment

1. Tinder (Android; iOS)

Tinder paved the path set by Grindr into a world of swipe and scroll dating apps. At first glance, Tinder encourages you to make superficial, quick judgments about potential partners. The app will display singles in your area. If you like one, swipe the photo to the right; Otherwise, swipe left. If you both swipe right, you can send messages and set something up. Match has continued to expand its features, such as B. a Tinder-like mixer, Android Wear and Apple Watch integration, and adding voice and video snippets to your profile. Vibe Check, which launched last spring, lets you enjoy video chatting with your matches, while Match also lets you pay a little more to have real dating coaches make matches for you.

Like Tinder, Match has also added a safety feature that lets you warn friends if you’re on a date and you’re feeling unsafe. You can even set your political beliefs in Match, making it easier for you to find someone whose beliefs align with yours (or not, if you think opposites attract).

5. Grindr (Android; iOS)

Grindr allows gay and bisexual men to connect with like-minded men nearby. Profiling is a fairly minimal experience, focusing on a profile picture, a username, a few simple questions, picking a “tribe” that describes your type, and then finding other users and chatting with them in minutes.

Grindr is free to use and ad-supported, but the premium version, Grindr Xtra, offers ad-free browsing along with other features like adding multiple tribes and advanced search filters. A notable downside? Unlike other dating apps, push notifications for messages require Grindr Xtra.

6. Harmony (Android; iOS)

eharmony is a longtime player in the online dating game and the first service to push an algorithmic system to try and find the best possible dating matches for its members. Once you create an account, users go through a “relationship questionnaire” to create a personality profile that helps match you to other users that eharmony thinks you will click with. Every day the app offers you a selection of games and their compatibility areas. You have the opportunity to connect if the interest is mutual.

Premium subscribers get advanced matching and detection options, as well as other features such as B. the ability to see who recently viewed your profile.

7. Hinge (Android; iOS: $10.99/month)

Dating app Hinge refuses to follow the path taken by swipe-driven apps like Tinder and focuses on relationships and interesting conversations. In fact, the service’s explicitly stated goal is to get you to the point where you’ve deleted the app entirely — presumably because you found love, not because you had it with the app.

Hinge turns up his nose when swiping for a more detailed profile that you fill with pictures and stories. Users can then choose to like and comment on something on that profile, and that serves as a mutual conversation starter. Every day you can see new recommendations and see people who liked something on your profile.

Hinge quickly responded to our situation imposed by the coronavirus pandemic in which they were housed on-site by introducing Date From Home features. Other changes include working with companies like Chipotle and Uber Eats to encourage users to socially distance dinner dates. A Standouts feature now highlights people who are more your type, along with topics that Hinge thinks will spark conversation with your potential partner.

You log in with Facebook or Instagram accounts, then watch a stream of activity from other verified Her users near you and around the world. You can like other users’ photos, and if the interest is mutual, the app connects you to the chat.

Of course, it’s also more than just meeting dates, as the app offers social features, news and articles on LGBTQ issues, events, questions and more. The app is free to use and sign up, a premium subscription adds additional features.

9. Facebook (Android, iOS)

Facebook Dating has been around for a number of years, added as an opt-in service that integrates with the social network, Facebook Dating focuses on helping you find long-term relationships, not connections. You access the dating section through the Facebook mobile app and set up a dating profile that is separate from your regular Facebook profile. From there, Facebook will find matches for you based on your likes, interests, and activity on the social network site.

Facebook doesn’t suggest matches between people you already know on Facebook unless you use the service’s Secret Crush feature, which lets you choose up to nine Facebook friends or Instagram followers you’re interested in . If they also express interest in you via Secret Crush, Facebook will match you.

You can add instagram posts to your facebook dating profile as well as share facebook and instagram stories. Like other dating services, Facebook Dating has introduced the ability to make video calls with your potential sweetheart using the Messenger app.

10. Coffee Meets Bagel (Android; iOS)

Coffee Meets Bagel takes the opposite approach to many of the best dating apps, trying to focus on quality over quantity. Every day at 12pm, the app sends men a small selection of potential matches based on their profile and preferences, and women then receive a series of matches that have shown interest in them, giving the ladies a chance to make similar replies. If the attraction is mutual, the app will set you up with a 7-day chat window and icebreaker.

A redesign of the dating app puts more emphasis on user profiles and gives you the ability to comment on profiles and photos in hopes of encouraging more connections between Coffee Meets Bagel users.

11. Snack (iOS)

Imagine TikTok, but for dating, and you’ve got a pretty good grasp of what Snack has to offer. This dating app focuses on short videos. You browse a feed of introductory videos to see if anyone catches your interest, favoring those of people you want to meet. If they favorite your video, you can DM each other.

The emphasis on videos makes Snack a good dating app option for our socially distanced times, although the focus is clearly on the under-30s. As of this writing, Snack is only available on iPhone, so Android users will have to look elsewhere.

12. LOLO Dating & Icebreaker Games (Android, iOS)

LOLO Dating & Icebreaker Games, formerly known as XO, wants to bring back some fun in dating by using games to break the ice. Quizzes, drawing games, and other party activities get you laughing with someone else and maybe forging a bond that leads to a relationship.

You find matches by filling out a profile and meeting up with someone who has similar preferences. Or you can try one of LOLO’s other, more random pairings. Blind Date puts you in touch with someone to play a game and exchange messages before you see their profiles, while Random puts you in touch with someone from anywhere in the world.

People who are serious about finding a significant other right now might want some of the other best dating apps, but LOLO seems like a fun, casual way to make new friends — and maybe that friendship will blossom into something more.

13. Kippo (Android, iOS)

Of course, there’s more than one way to play online, and Kippo aims to attract online gamers looking for a little companionship. The app lets you customize your own profile—the more unique the better—where you can show off the things you really care about. The app then tries to find matches based on the games you like.

Once you find a match, you’re ready to DM and chat, although Kippo’s free tier has some limitation on how many profiles you can swipe each day and how many messages you can send. Joining a Kippo Infinity paid tier for $10 per month removes these limitations.

Kippo says it verifies that everyone using its service is a real person and has moderation in place to keep bad actors out. And if you’re not necessarily looking for a date, don’t worry – Kippo is just as happy to help you find new friends to play with.

15. Feelings (Android, iOS)

Many newer dating apps are clearly moving away from the right or left swiping method to choose a partner, and none exemplifies this shift better than Feels. Instead of selfies, the focus in this app is more on short videos and stories that aim to give you a better insight into a potential partner’s personality.

In fact, Feels would balk at being pigeonholed as a dating app, arguing that it’s more about helping you meet new people, whether they end up being friends or something more. The TikTok-like feel and emphasis on animated captions and tickers clearly positions Feels as an app for a younger audience that’s more of a social network than a dating-only app.

Feels is free to use, although a premium subscription unlocks additional features and boosts your profile. One thing that stands out about the app is its emphasis on inclusion — when you set up your profile, you have nine different pronoun and gender options to choose from. Again, Feels is all about letting the real you shine through.

15. Once (Android, iOS)

Once wants to slow down those frantic swipes as you try to find your ideal match. Instead of an endless series of photos to sift through, Once matches you with one potential partner per day, and you have 24 hours to make a connection. You can continue chatting after that if you both like each other, but the idea is to focus on just one person at a time so you can see if a more lasting connection is possible.

Matches are created using the Once algorithm, which uses your profile and past behavior to find an ideal match. You can use Once for free, but paid memberships will speed up the search process and give you more matches per day if that’s what you prefer.

16. Happn (Android, iOS)

Happn is all about the people you may have crossed paths with, who you may find interesting, and who may be doing the same things as you. Happn is a location-based dating service and will show you the profiles of other Happn users you’ve met, along with the time and location. You can like any of the profiles that appear, and if the feeling is mutual, the app will give you an opportunity to connect. Paid options include the ability to say hello to other profiles, which includes a notification, as well as the ability to see profiles you’ve liked.

17. SwoonMe (Android, iOS: Free)

Let’s face it — even the best dating apps have a strong tendency to swipe through photos to find a match. But SwoonMe wants you to look beyond the surface when trying to get to know someone, whether it’s for friendship or a more serious relationship.

To that end, the SwoonMe app forgoes photos in exchange for avatars — the photo you upload to the dating app is turned into a cartoon version of you. Instead, look for potentially significant audio by listening to short audio clips that the person recorded. If you like what you hear, you can continue communicating through audio messages and eventually reach the point where you can reveal your true picture.

It’s a different approach to dating than some of the other apps here, and as a fairly new service, SwoonMe isn’t as polished as some of its more established competitors. But it’s worth checking out if other dating apps are too shallow.

Clover avoids the one-trick pony trap of more focused dating app experiences. So if you ever get bored of the swiping style, you can always try participating in live mixers, try the 20-question game, or even experiment with Clover’s “on demand date.” As with other apps, Clover has premium tiers, that can improve visibility and add or improve existing features.

How to find the best dating app

You’ll have the most success finding romance through a dating app if you first commit to what you’re looking for. If you’re into casual affairs and dating, shy away from apps designed to help you find long-term relationships. If you’re tired of one-night stands, you’re more likely to get frustrated with dating apps that place more emphasis on swiping than matching compatible people.

Speaking of frustration, nothing is more irritating than using a dating app full of fake profiles. Pay attention to what dating services are doing to make sure you’re only being matched with people who take things seriously (or at least as seriously as you do). It’s also a good idea to pay attention to what services do protect the privacy of their users.

If you’re still not comfortable meeting people in bars and other crowded settings, consider apps that offer some form of video chat so your love life isn’t put on hold while you practice social distancing. Vice versa. Some people aren’t comfortable in front of the camera, so we’ve also included a selection in our list of the best dating apps for services that rely on other avenues of connection, such as. B. Messaging.

Before you dive in to find the right dating app to find the best possible partner, don’t forget to consider privacy. Don’t just skim the privacy policy of any dating app you use, as those policies can describe exactly what a dating site does with your personal information. Because dating sites, like any online service, can suffer security breaches, use good password practices and don’t use credentials you’ve associated with other accounts.

It’s worth noting that many dating apps — including several on this best dating apps list — are owned by the same company. The Match Group, for example, operates Tinder, OKCupid and PlentyOfFish in addition to Match.com.

How we choose the best dating apps

We research dating apps by going online and reading customer reviews and listening to word of mouth to see which dating services have piqued people’s interest. We then rate the services based on how much they cost and what they offer in return.

We prefer apps that reach a wider range of users – the bigger the dating pool, the better the chances of finding someone a good match for you – and that let you try at least part of the service for free. We also rate services higher when they offer multiple tools for meeting new people and when they have security measures in place to report fake accounts and bad actors.

Since there is no one-size-fits-all approach to dating, we also try to showcase a variety of apps so you can better find one that suits your personality, comfort level, and interests.

Why is Tinder expensive?

Like most dating apps, Tinder offers its basic service for free but relies on premium subscriptions to make money – a cool $1.4bn in global revenue in 2020.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

A Which? Research has found that market-leading dating app Tinder routinely charges over 30s more for their “Plus” subscription.

UPDATE: Our original analysis also revealed that Tinder appeared to be increasing prices for young gay and lesbian users aged 18-29. When we shared our findings with Tinder twice in December 2021, it admitted it offers discounts in “some regions” and denied setting different prices based on sexuality, but gave no further details on what drives its pricing algorithm.

After initially deciding not to provide further information, Tinder has since revealed that it is offering discounts to users aged 28 and under in the UK and claims that by including 29-year-olds in our analysis of the link between Price, age and sexual orientation, “Results would be skewed to make it appear that LGBTQAI+ members paid more based on orientation, when in fact this was based on age.”

Tinder told us it has never included sexual orientation in its pricing.

Updating our analysis with this new information leaves us with no evidence that sexual orientation influences pricing for young Tinder users. We have therefore removed the reference to it from this piece.

People willingly share their most sensitive information with dating apps in hopes of finding suitable matches, but would they be so casual if they discovered that their personal information is being used to set personal prices?

The? Is concerned that large tech companies are accumulating vast amounts of digital data to power sophisticated but obscure algorithms. And the more we reveal about ourselves online – often unknowingly – the more goods and services we may be offered through increasingly personal information.

Tinder’s mysterious pricing

Tinder is owned by Texas-based Match Group, which has become the most dominant player in the market after absorbing OkCupid (2011), PlentyofFish (2015), and Hinge (2018). Like most dating apps, Tinder offers its basic service for free but relies on premium subscriptions to make money — a whopping $1.4 billion in global revenue in 2020.

This isn’t the first time Tinder has faced price discrimination allegations. In January 2019, it settled a lawsuit in California when it agreed to stop charging users there based on age. But that hasn’t stopped them from doing the same elsewhere – in 2020, Australian consumer group Choice reported that over-30s in the country were, on average, listing more than double the price of younger users.

We knew Choice had age-related pricing variability in Australia, but based on a sample of just 60 mystery shoppers, it couldn’t tell if other characteristics influenced pricing. When we repeated the research in the UK, we increased the number of mystery shoppers to 199 to see if we could get a step closer to solving the Tinder pricing mystery.

We asked shoppers to create real profiles and note the advertised prices for Tinder Plus, a premium plan that includes perks like unlimited “likes” and “rewind” (the ability to undo accidental selections). Credit: Sua Balac

How your age affects the cost of Tinder Plus

We found Tinder charging UK users wildly different prices for the same service. Throughout the mystery shopping exercise, deals for access to Tinder Plus for a year have ranged from £26.09 to a whopping £116.99, with 20 different prices quoted in total.

Our analysis finds no evidence that sexuality, gender, or location makes a difference in pricing. However, the data showed that 18-29 year olds typically paid less than all other age groups. In our Mystery Shop, 30-49 year olds were likely to pay 48% more (an average difference of £24) for a 12-month Tinder Plus subscription, while those over 50 paid 47% (£23.59) more.

Tinder users are in the dark about pricing

Tinder’s lack of transparency is disappointing.

We found that the full extent of Tinder’s application of personalized pricing is not clear. The terms and conditions simply state that “prices vary by a number of factors” and refer to promotional prices “which may vary by region, length of subscription, package size and more”. If the “more” includes personal characteristics like age, Tinder is misleading its users.

We submitted our findings to Tinder in December 2021 and it acknowledged that it charges younger people less in some countries, but denied using other personal characteristics to set prices.

At the time, Tinder told us, “Tinder is free to use and the vast majority of our members enjoy our app without having to switch to the paid experience.”

‘However, we offer a variety of subscription options to help our members stand out and connect with new people more efficiently. Tinder operates a global business and in some regions we offer discounted subscriptions to younger members. In addition, we often offer promotional prices, which may vary depending on location or subscription length. Our pricing structure does not take other demographic information into account.’

Tinder recently announced more pricing details. It told us:

“We have never factored sexual orientation, gender identity or other demographics into our pricing.

“We are offering discounts for members aged 28 and under in some regions, including the UK.

“Like other companies, Tinder offers promotional pricing from time to time, which may have impacted results.”

Is Tinder breaking the law?

Felicity Robinson, Which? Attorney, says: “The Equality Act 2010 prohibits conduct amounting to less favorable treatment on the basis of certain ‘protected characteristics’. Under UK Equality Act it is occasionally justified to offer age-based price differences for the same product or service, e.g. B. Discounts for over 65s or students where it can be shown that there is a legitimate basis for doing so.

“Tinder acknowledges that it offers what it calls ‘discounted subscriptions’ to its younger members, but it hasn’t provided us with any evidence to justify the price difference between users based on age. The exact scope of the availability of these discounts is not clear and is not publicly available on its website.

“Tinder’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy relate to the processing of personal data in order to “provide and improve” its services and (among other things) to “protect [users] and possibly provide [users] with advertising interest,” but mentions does not expressly use personal data to determine the prices it charges users. If he does so, as our mystery shopping suggests, users have not expressly consented to this type of processing, making this a potential breach of UK data protection law.’

The? calls for regulators to intervene

The? has reported its findings to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), asking them to investigate further.

We will also share the new information recently provided by Tinder.

Rocio Concha, which ones? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said: “Our research has found evidence that people using Tinder may be unknowingly facing higher charges because of their age.

“This indicates unfair price discrimination and potentially unlawful processing of personal data.

“We urge the EHRC and ICO to further investigate this issue. If regulators decide that Tinder’s personalized pricing breaks the law, the dating app giant must act decisively.”

A spokesman for the Equality and Human Rights Commission said: “As the UK’s equality body, it is our job to protect, uphold and enforce equality laws. We take reports of discrimination very seriously.

“This report of potential discrimination by Tinder is worrying. We will use these results from which? and reply in due course.’

Does Tinder charge you monthly or all at once?

Yes, Tinder Gold does charge monthly.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

Yes, Tinder Gold charges monthly.

Tinder Gold subscription is $29.99 per month if you only buy one month’s worth or decide to pay Tinder Gold monthly. However, Tinder offers discounts if you opt for a 6-month or 12-month subscription in advance. For the 6-month payment plan, customers pay $15 per month while the 12-month payment plan rebates $10 per month

Can I pay for Tinder with Google Play?

Tinder is the latest example, with the dating service no longer using Google Play’s in-app payments system.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

Google and Apple’s app stores have historically slashed all transactions by 30% to win back hosting and other services. Increasingly, major developers have grown weary of this and have turned to other distribution methods. Tinder is the latest example as the dating service no longer uses Google Play’s in-app payment system.

As Bloomberg reports, Tinder has introduced a new standard payment process under the guise of “convenience, control and choice”. Online dating network users are now required to enter payment details directly to make in-app purchases.

In the past, you could just use existing credit or debit cards linked to your Google Account. Customers now have a direct relationship, with Tinder storing details for future transactions. The app removes the Google option after entering the new method.

Tinder benefits from no longer having to pay 30% to use Google Play Billing, transaction fees differ for long-term subscriptions. For end users, this could complicate IAPs a bit if each service requires entering credit card details. This is especially problematic if cards have ever been compromised and you need to enter a new one.

There are also the privacy and security concerns that customers can no longer hide financial details behind Google and have to share them with multiple parties.

The app is still available on the Play Store, with Match Group not following the epic route of letting users download the app directly from the web. As another way to avoid Google’s 30% cut, Fortnite briefly faced a security issue due to this distribution channel.

According to Macquarie research analyst Ben Schachter, Tinder’s move won’t have a massive impact on Google’s bottom line. However, this could signal a trend that other companies are following. Larger developers may be inclined, while play billing may be more economical for smaller ones.

How does Tinder Gold payment work?

This will set you back $14.99 for one month, though the per-month cost decreases the longer you subscribe: $7.50 per month for six months ($49.99 total) or $5.00 per month for 12 months ($59.99 total). If, when you get the next month’s charge, you regret this decision, you’ll need to cancel Tinder Gold.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

We all know it: You’re under the covers and scrolling through Tinder well past your bedtime. You’re on a left swipe reel and you accidentally pass someone you would have swiped right at, so hard it would snap your thumb.

The only way to rewind — undo your last swipe — is to pay for Tinder. So why not just drop a few bucks a month to pay for a Tinder Gold subscription? This will set you back $14.99 for one month, although the monthly cost decreases the longer you subscribe: $7.50 per month for six months ($49.99 total) or $5.00 per month for 12 months ( $59.99 total).

If you regret that decision when you get next month’s fee, you need to cancel Tinder Gold. Here’s how to do it.

What is Tinder Gold anyway?

Tinder Gold is one of the dating app’s tiered subscription options. Maybe they call it Gold because it’s the Goldilocks of plans that have more perks (and cost more) than Tinder Plus, but fewer perks and a lower price than Tinder Platinum.

With all Tinder subscriptions, you won’t see any ads. You have unlimited likes (as opposed to 100 right swipes per day for free users), unlimited rewinds, and can use the Passport feature for each location.

Tinder Gold also has Top Picks, unlike Tinder Plus, where the app brings you your “most swipe-worthy matches.” You get one free boost per month that makes you a top profile in your area for 30 minutes and free super likes that let the user know you like them before they fall behind on you.

In addition to all these features, Tinder Platinum allows you to see the likes you create. gives you Priority Likes that put you at the top of your potential match’s options; and lets you send message when you super like.

How to cancel Tinder Gold

How you cancel Tinder Gold depends on how you signed up. Deleting the app on your phone will not cancel your subscription, and if you purchased it through the Apple or Google Play store, deleting your Tinder account itself will not cancel it either.

If you bought Tinder Gold on your iPhone, open your Settings and tap on your name. Then tap Subscriptions, select your Tinder subscription and press Cancel Subscription.

For Android there are two options. If you purchased from the Google Play Store, go there on your Android. Tap the menu icon and go to Subscriptions. Select the Tinder subscription and then Unsubscribe.

If you used the direct credit card option on Android, open Tinder on your device. Go to your profile, tap Manage Payment Account, then tap Cancel Subscription.

Finally, if you bought Tinder Gold through Tinder browser application, go to the website. Tap the profile icon, go to Manage Account, and then click Cancel or turn off auto-renewal. Deleting your Tinder account on the browser side will also automatically cancel the subscription if you bought it there.

Still problems? Tinder has a separate article for help with unsubscribing, but the instructions are basically the same. If you need individual help, take a screenshot of what you see and contact Tinder directly.

What happens if I delete Tinder Gold?

You will continue to have access to the paid features until the subscription expires. Tinder doesn’t allocate fees based on cancellation date, nor does it retroactively refund previous payments.

Canceling your paid subscription will not delete your Tinder account, so you can continue to use it for free. If you want the extras again, you can always start a new subscription. Until then, enjoy your swipes with no regrets.

Can You Pay for Tinder with a PayPal Account?

Can you pay for Tinder with a PayPal account?

Tinder has grown into one of the most popular dating services on the web, with more than 50 million regular users and more than 20 billion matches in the last year. With so many matching people, relationships that started on Tinder have become commonplace, even the norm. Meeting people on Tinder is extremely easy, and the emphasis on meeting and chatting online before deciding to meet in the real world makes the app a convenient and safe place for many users. It’s no surprise that so many people have decided to upgrade to the premium version of the Tinder Plus service.

If you want to upgrade to the paid version of Tinder but only have cash in your PayPal account, don’t worry. You can pay for Tinder with your PayPal account, but you must do so indirectly using the app subscriptions provided by both Apple and Google on your mobile device. Here’s how to get more action on Tinder by using PayPal to boost your account.

Pay for Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold

Unlike many other social apps, Tinder offers a “Plus” subscription model that grants access to a range of new features. The rewind feature is a popular favorite as it allows you to rewind your previous swipe – right or left – to correct a mistake and change your answer for that person. Tinder Plus users also get access to “Passport,” which allows them to preview and match with people in other places, such as. B. before a holiday or a business trip, before even boarding the plane. Of course, probably the most used feature of Tinder Plus is the unlimited right swipe gestures, along with the ad-free experience and the granting of five “super likes” per day, which can be used for other users.

Tinder Plus costs most users $9.99 per month, while Tinder Gold costs an extra $5 per month and offers more features on top of the Plus subscription. Both can be subscribed to using PayPal as a payment method, as long as you know where to look.

Pay for Tinder through the Apple App Store

Apple’s App Store fully supports paying for apps through PayPal, as long as you’ve added your PayPal information to your account. To do this, open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and click on the profile icon in the top right corner. Select your Apple ID here and then choose the payment methods. If you select PayPal from this list, you will be prompted to sign in to PayPal and give permission to your App Store account. Just make sure PayPal stays selected on your device and you can return to Tinder to subscribe to the service.

Pay for Tinder through the Google Play Store

Similar to iOS, you can use PayPal to pay for subscriptions and in-app purchases simply by adding PayPal to your account as a payment method. Open the Google Play Store on your phone and slide the menu to the right. Select Payment Methods, then look for the Add Paypal option at the bottom of that menu. Just like on iOS, this menu requires you to log into your PayPal account, the big difference here being that you have to select a default payment.

While iOS only required you to choose one payment method at a time, the Play Store lets you change how you’re billed for apps and subscriptions when you sign up. That means you can use your PayPal account for your Tinder account while using a credit card or Google Play balance for other content on your Android phone.

How do I cancel my subscription?

If your PayPal account is low on funds or you decide that premium Tinder plans aren’t worth it, you can cancel your Tinder Plus plan directly from the app store you first subscribed to.

On Android, you can cancel your subscription by going to the Google Play Store and then tapping the three-line menu item in the top-right corner of your screen to open the Google Play menu. Tap on “Account” – you’ll find it at the bottom of this list.

From here you want to tap on “Subscriptions” which will load a list of all the subscriptions associated with your Google Play account. Depending on how many recurring subscriptions you have on your account, this page might be filled with dozens of apps, or maybe just a few. Still, scroll through the list until you find where Tinder is listed and tap on the selection. You have two different choices: Cancel and Refresh. Update allows you to change your credit card payment method (you can use your Play balance, Google Wallet balance, credit and debit cards, and PayPal), but for the purposes of this guide we’re looking for the “Cancel” option. . Tap Cancel, then tap Confirm on the pop-up message.

On iOS, open the App Store from your home screen and scroll all the way to the bottom of the apps page. Here you will find a few different options for settings and account information. Tap your Apple ID, tap View Apple ID, and sign in with your password to view your information. Scroll through your account information until you reach the subscriptions list and select “Manage”. From your list of actively subscribed apps, tap Tinder and select “Unsubscribe” or toggle the “Auto-renewal” slider in iOS to the “Off” position.

The App Store subscription list should show your subscription end date on your screen if you previously unsubscribed from Tinder Plus.

Tinder is free, but you can pay for extra features — here’s what you can unlock from the dating app

Tinder is free to download and use, but you can pay to unlock additional features.

You can buy Super Likes and Profile Boosts individually, or subscribe to one of Tinder’s premium plans.

If you’re over 30, all of Tinder’s subscription plans cost double the money.

Check out Insider’s tech reference library for more stories.

Tinder is one of the most influential apps of all time. His swipe left, swipe right model inspired dozens of imitators and completely revolutionized the online dating experience. And it certainly didn’t hurt that the app was free.

But when something free becomes popular, you can be sure that the money will sneak in somehow.

These days, Tinder is still free to download and you can use its basic features without paying a dime. But if you’re willing to spend some money, you can unlock even more.

Important: In some federal states, Tinder charges different prices depending on age. In particular, they usually make users who are over 30 years old pay more money. The prices listed below are subject to change at any time without notice and may not even be the same across devices.

Tinder allows you to pay for additional features

When you first start using Tinder, your profile will be randomly sent to other users in your area. There is no guarantee that these users will see your profile – it’s just one in a sea of hundreds. And when you match someone, there is nothing that can set you apart from other matches.

You can change this by paying for Boosts and Super Likes. Boosts temporarily increase the likelihood of your profile appearing in other users’ feeds, while Super Likes signal a match that you’re very interested in them.

Tinder claims that both of these features exponentially increase your chances of making connections — but of course, there’s still some luck involved.

You can buy Super Likes and Boosts on your profile page or through the feed. Super Likes are $8 for a 5 pack, $30 for a 25 pack, and $60 for a 60 pack. Boosts — which only last 30 minutes each — are $6.99 for one, $30 for a 5-pack, and $50 for a pack of 10.

The menu where you can buy Super Likes on Tinder. Tinder

Quick Tip: If you’re over 30, Boosts may cost $7.99, $35, or $60 instead.

And if you really want to stand out and already have Tinder Gold, you can use a Super Boost, which will prioritize your profile for up to 12 hours at a time. This costs $39.99 for three hours, $69.99 for six hours, and $129.99 for 12 hours.

Super Boosts are only available to Gold and Platinum subscribers. Tinder

You can sign up for Tinder’s premium subscription tiers

If you intend to spend a lot of time on Tinder, you should consider upgrading your account. Depending on how much money you want to spend, you can upgrade to Tinder Plus, Tinder Gold, or Tinder Platinum.

Tinder Plus

Tinder Plus lets you “rewind” to see people you’ve swiped left again, remove ads, and give you a “passport” feature that lets you view profiles from anywhere in the world.

If you’re under 30, Plus generally costs $4.99 for a month, $14.99 for six months, and $19.99 for a year. If you are over 30 years old, it costs $7.99 for a month, $23.99 for six months and $31.99 for a year.

Tinder Gold
