Instagram rolled out a new direct message walkie-talkie feature globally on Monday, meaning you can now send personalized love ballads to your favorite celebrity (who’s looking at you, Drake).

The voice messages you can send to your friends or anyone with open DMs on Instagram can be recorded for up to a minute and saved permanently in both individual and group direct messages. Unlike Instagram Stories, they don’t automatically disappear after a certain amount of time. The move comes just six months after the social media company released its video calling feature, which rivals similar offerings from Snapchat and Facebook Messenger.

Basically, Instagram’s new walkie-talkie feature is as intuitive as most other voice messaging features of popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Zello. How to use it:

Open Instagram and go to Direct Messages. Select the person you want to send a voice message to and at the bottom is an icon that looks like a 1960’s microphone.

Instagram

Press and hold the icon to record a message. You can also swipe up to the lock icon to record without having to hold down the button, or swipe left to cancel. When you release the icon, your voice message will be sent automatically. However, you can swipe left to trash the recording if you’re stuttering – so be prepared.

Instagram

And there you have it. Just remember that the message — whether it’s a happy birthday to a friend or a voice message to your ex — will live on in the app forever. You can delete the record of it from your phone, but there’s no way to retrieve a voice message that’s already been sent once it’s been delivered.

Instagram

You can also use the feature by simply tapping the message icon, holding it to your ear and once you hear a beep, record your message. When you’re done, press the arrow or submit button.

Voice messages can be heard either through the phone’s main speaker or through your phone’s earpiece.

How can I listen to a voice memo without the sender knowing?

On Android Phone: Go to Settings > Connections > Move Flight Mode toggle to ON Position. After enabling Airplane Mode, you can open and Listen to WhatsApp Voice Message, without generating those blue ticks. Since, your Phone is cut off from WiFi and Cellular network, it won’t be able to send Read Receipt to the sender.

[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

If you are looking for a way to listen to WhatsApp audio messages without the sender’s knowledge, below are 3 different methods to listen to WhatsApp audio without generating blue ticks.

Listen to WhatsApp audio without the sender’s knowledge

Whenever you open a WhatsApp text or voice message, WhatsApp automatically generates 2 blue ticks next to the message, informing the sender that their audio message has been listened to.

This setup of read receipt in WhatsApp is useful in most cases as senders know that their messages are read or heard.

However, in certain cases, you may have your own valid reasons to listen to WhatsApp audio without the sender knowing whether or not you actually listened to their voice message.

In such cases, you can use any of the following methods to listen to WhatsApp audio without generating those blue ticks.

1. Disable read receipts in WhatsApp

Perhaps the most reliable way to listen to WhatsApp audio without notifying the sender is to disable WhatsApp read receipts on your device before opening the WhatsApp voice message.

Open WhatsApp > tap the 3 dot menu icon and select Settings from the drop down menu.

Note: On iPhone, you can directly tap the Settings tab from the bottom menu.

On the settings screen, go to Account > Privacy > scroll down and uncheck Read Receipts.

After turning off read receipts, you can open and listen to the WhatsApp audio or voice message.

Since read receipts are already disabled in your WhatsApp account, the sender cannot see whether or not you actually listened to their voice message.

The only disadvantage of this method is that you cannot receive read receipts from others as long as read receipts are disabled on your WhatsApp account.

2. Activate airplane mode and listen to WhatsApp audio

Another easy way to listen to WhatsApp audio without the sender’s knowledge is to enable Airplane mode on your device before opening the WhatsApp audio message.

This method works because Airplane mode kills both the WiFi and cellular connections on your device, which prevents read receipts from being sent to the sender.

On iPhone: Open Settings and slide the switch next to Airplane mode to the ON position.

On an Android phone: Go to Settings > Connections > Toggle Airplane mode to ON position.

After turning on airplane mode, you can open and listen to WhatsApp voice messages without generating those blue ticks.

Because your phone is disconnected from Wi-Fi and cellular networks, it can’t send a read receipt to the sender.

After you’ve listened to the audio message, close WhatsApp and leave your device in Airplane Mode until you want the other person to know that you’ve listened to their audio message.

The disadvantage of this method is that you cannot use WhatsApp until you are ready to reply to the message or tell your contact that you heard their audio message.

Once you open WhatsApp, these 2 blue ticks will appear next to the message, telling the sender that the message has been read.

3. Use third-party apps

There are many apps available on App Store for iPhone and Google Play Store for Android phones to read WhatsApp messages and listen to WhatsApp audio without the sender knowing.

One such app is Unseen, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store on Android devices and the App Store on iPhone and iPad.

Open the Google Play Store (Android phone) or the App Store (iPhone, iPad) and download the Unseen app.

Once the app is downloaded, open Unseen App > tap Ok on the popup to give Unseen App free access to notifications on your device.

On the next screen (Notification Access screen), grant the Invisible app access to notifications by toggling the switch next to Invisible to the ON position.

On the confirmation pop-up, tap the Allow option to give the invisible app access to notifications.

From now on, all new WhatsApp messages that you receive on your phone will appear in the invisible app.

This way you can read WhatsApp text messages and listen to WhatsApp audio messages without generating those blue ticks even though the message has already been read in the invisible app.

Can you listen to Instagram voice messages more than once?

Once you send it, your recipient can listen to your message, whether it’s a “happy birthday” recording, a random joke, or a juicy secret you want to share with your group message. Unlike photos and videos, these voice messages won’t disappear, and you can listen to them repeatedly.

[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

Instagram announced on Monday that it added the ability to send voice memos via direct messages. Just like the little microphone icon in iMessage, you can press and hold the icon in an Instagram message and record your voice for up to a minute. If you want to record again after listening, you can drag your finger over the trash can icon and delete your first attempt. The message appears in the form of a sound wave, and voila! Once you’ve sent it, your recipient can listen to your message, whether it’s a “happy birthday” recording, a random joke, or a juicy secret you want to share with your group message. Unlike photos and videos, these voice messages do not disappear and you can listen to them repeatedly.

Many people have pointed out that Facebook, WhatsApp and other apps have had a voice feature for years and that Instagram is a latecomer. Other users aren’t sure they even want this feature – when was the last time you felt happy to check a voicemail? Either way, this is just another fun new Instagram feature to play around with, and it definitely comes in handy when you’re driving or out and about.

Don’t worry; We will show you how to do this in this tutorial.

To listen to your voicemail messages on an Android phone:

Turn on your phone and open the Phone app. Call your voicemail system. Enter your voicemail system passcode. Tap the button that allows you to check messages. Listen to each message and tap the appropriate button to play, delete, or save. Press end call when done.

The keys you need to press for these instructions depend on who your telecom provider is, so we’ll add a little more detail below in case our quick steps aren’t enough to proceed. We also have a “cheat sheet” of voicemail commands for different carriers, so be sure to scroll down and check it out.

How to listen to your voicemail messages on Android

1. Turn on your phone and open the Phone app.

Press and hold your phone’s power button to turn it on. Once you’ve unlocked your main screen, tap on the phone app to launch it.

2. Access the dial pad.

You need to enter the Phone app’s dial pad as if you were calling a real person. To do this, tap the keypad icon at the bottom of the screen.

3. Call your voicemail system.

Call your voicemail account by entering their phone number using the keys on the dialpad, and then pressing the green call button. Or you can just press and hold the 1 key as a shortcut.

4. Enter your voicemail system password.

You’ll be prompted to enter your voicemail account passcode if you’ve set one (which I hope you have). Use the keys on the keypad to enter it.

5. Check your voicemail inbox.

Once you’re in your voicemail system, you may need to do something a little different than this tutorial, depending on your telecom provider and/or voicemail client. However, the general options you will have should be pretty similar.

Anyway, the first thing you should do is tap the button on the dial pad that will allow you to check your messages. In this case it is 1.

6. After listening to each message, decide what you want to do with it.

The most recent voicemail message you received should play. When it’s ready, you have a few choices about what you want to do with the message. Usually these include deleting the message, saving it, getting more information about it, and so on. Press the button on the keypad that corresponds to your desired action.

In this case you can press 7 to delete the message or press 9 to save it. If you want more options for using the message, press 0.

Deleting or saving the message will play the next most recent voicemail message. From there, go back to the beginning of this step.

However, if you want to listen to more options for the current message, you’ll get additional choices. This usually includes playing the message, finding out more information about the message (including when it was sent and by whom), or canceling the review of your messages and returning to your voicemail system’s main menu.

Again, just press the button on the keypad that represents the option you want. In this case you can press 4 to play the message again, 5 to hear more information about the message, or * to stop checking the messages and return to the main menu of your voicemail system. How do you listen to voice recordings on Instagram?

Enable Microphone Access for the Instagram App

Typically, when you use the voice messaging feature or record videos on the app (especially for the first time), you’ll receive a message asking to allow Instagram access to your microphone. Hence, at the prompt, you should select OK or Settings and enable it from there.

Do you find your microphone not working or a voice memo or message not playing on Instagram?

A few years ago, Instagram released a popular feature that allows users to send messages using their voice. Finally you could express yourself much better to the people in your DMs and give those typing fingers a break. 😩

Besides voice messages, there are other app features that use your device’s microphone. This includes recording Instagram Stories, Reels, other videos, etc.

Types of Instagram Microphone and Voice Message Errors

Unfortunately, some users have reported problems using their microphone on Instagram and that it is not working as expected:

First, when sending and playing their voice messages, users find that no sound or sound is recorded. Similarly, this may be the case with other app features that require your device’s microphone. As a result, Instagram Stories, Reels, and other videos you record may appear muted or have no sound.

Sometimes these outgoing Instagram voice memos or messages are not sent to the recipient either. Surely this must be very frustrating after spending a lifetime speaking your heart out! 😠

Also, you may find that you cannot hear incoming voice memos/messages in your Instagram DMs because they are not playing. This is common among many users where the icon appears to show that the voice is playing, but in reality there is no sound or tone.

Some users also reported the issue of not having the option (no microphone icon) to record anything themselves.

Why isn’t your Instagram microphone or voice memo/message working, broadcasting or playing?

18 fixes for when your Instagram voice memo/message isn’t working, sending or playing

Why isn’t your Instagram microphone or voice memo/message working, broadcasting or playing?

1. The Voice Messages feature hasn’t reached your device yet

Many apps that work across operating systems (e.g. iOS, Android) often do not receive updates at the same time. Therefore, it can happen that a feature only arrives on your mobile phone a short time after it was announced. This may be the reason why the icon is completely missing from your chat box.

However, considering how long the voice memo feature 🗣️ has been around, it’s safe to say that it’s pretty unlikely your phone is that far behind. Therefore, we recommend you to check your Instagram app and make sure it is up to date (Step 4) from your device’s native store (App Store for iOS, Play Store for Android).

It is worth mentioning that the Instagram website does not support the voice memo feature yet.

2. Bad or no internet connection

In most cases, the reason your voice message on Instagram isn’t sending successfully or working is that it was never delivered to the recipient(s) in the first place. Therefore, this may be due to a weak internet connection or your device does not have internet access at the time of sending the message.

Likewise, some voice memos in your DMs, whether sent or received, are unplayable for the same reason. It is important to know that Instagram messages are not stored on your device, they are stored online.

So if you try to listen to a voice memo and the play icon changes but there is no sound, it’s because Instagram is actually trying to load the voice memo for you but is unable to do so due to connection issues. Therefore, it cannot download the data from the servers to play the audio.

Overall, you should first make sure your device has a stable internet connection before attempting to send/listen to voice notes. To do this, we recommend testing and improving your internet connection (step 8) to ensure that it is sufficient for voice messages on Instagram.

Of course, when it comes to sending voice notes on Instagram, you can always do it in advance before connecting. Then the messages will be delivered if you have internet access. However, this is not recommended as many users have reported that their voice memos may be lost if they are undelivered for too long.

3. Instagram can’t access your microphone

In order to record audio in the app, Instagram needs to be granted access to your microphone 🎙️. Usually this is the case, but you may have received a pop-up at some point and accidentally denied access to Instagram. Otherwise, these permissions may also have been reset by a system or app update.

So, in step 9, we will show you how to enable microphone permissions for Instagram app.

Additionally, your device’s microphone may be in use by another background application/process. In this case, the Instagram app may not be able to access it either. Therefore, we recommend closing all other background apps (step 3) or restarting your device (step 4).

As a result, you may not be able to send anything using your voice. Also, you may face a similar problem when you try to record other videos in the app.

4. Your microphone is disabled/not working

If you have headphones or headsets 🎧 plugged in, whether wired or wireless, their microphone is most likely being used instead of your device’s. In this case, make sure that the microphone 🎤 is not disabled or there is a hardware problem.

Therefore, to troubleshoot your device’s microphone, we recommend testing it with an external microphone connected (step 13) and without (step 11).

If the voice memo feature makes a noise in the chat box when you disconnect the headphones, you may need to get a new pair. Suppose the voice memo feature doesn’t work even when no device is connected, only with an external microphone. We then recommend checking with your relevant provider to ensure the microphone hardware is working properly on your device. You may need to use the additional microphone temporarily.

In some hearing aids there is a small switch that allows you to disable/enable the microphone. So you may need to check if this is enabled.

You can also test the microphone (step 12) with other apps, such as the Voice Memos or Recorder app.

18 fixes for when your Instagram voice memo/message isn’t working, sending or playing

1. Restart the Instagram app

For starters, we recommend simply starting with a quick restart of the Instagram app. When an app is causing problems, the simplest solution often seems to be to restart it from scratch. This solution proves unexpectedly effective on many occasions to solve transient problems especially when the app has not started correctly.

This may be just the right solution for your Instagram voice message not working or playing properly.

Therefore, this is both a very simple process and most likely the magic when all else fails. Here are the steps to restart the Instagram app:

First, quit the Instagram app and close it by removing it from your recent apps or the app switcher. If you are using Android devices, you can force quit the Instagram app through your Settings app. Then restart the Instagram app from your home screen or app list.

2. Log out of your Instagram account and log back in

Continuing from the previous step, another effective step to fix temporary issues is to log back into your Instagram account. This will update your account credentials with the app and resolve issues with various features including voice messages.

In addition, it is coupled with the previous step, restarting the app, for an additional effect. So, after logging out of your Instagram account, try restarting the app as well (Step 1).

Follow the steps below to log out of your Instagram account:

For mobile devices (Android & iOS)

First, tap your profile picture in the lower right corner. Once your profile is displayed, tap on the hamburger menu in the top right corner. Then tap Settings at the bottom of the sidebar.

Next, scroll down and tap Sign out.

Lastly, tick your account and log out again.

For PC

Click your profile icon in the top right and select Sign out. (You should be able to find it in the last column!)

Once this is done, we recommend waiting a few minutes before logging back into your Instagram account.

3. Close other background apps

Next, you need to make sure that no other app using the device’s microphone is still running in the background. Therefore, the microphone cannot be used by another app at the same time, in this case for voice recording on Instagram. Also, closing non-essential background apps can improve your device’s performance and thus improve app functionality as well.

A nifty iOS feature (available on some Android devices) is that an orange light or dot will flash in your status bar whenever an app is using the microphone.

Therefore, you can manually and individually delete background apps via your recent apps or the app switcher. This way you can troubleshoot and see if a specific app is causing your microphone for Instagram not working.

Also, we recommend restarting your device (Step 4), which has a similar effect of killing any background apps that may be using your device microphone.

4. Reboot your device

“Have you tried turning it on and off again?”. You may have heard this before, and we hear it all the time. Perhaps in this case, for once, this can actually be effective.

So, we recommend restarting your device, which is another effective and easy way to kill all background processes. Hence, it has an effect similar to the previous step where it can prevent another app using the device microphone from running.

Besides, this step can also speed up the navigation of the app since you have freed up more system resources and processing power.

Therefore, the steps for doing this should be simple:

For Android

First, press and hold your device’s power button until a menu appears. Then tap on the Restart option and wait.

For iOS

First, hold down the power button and a slider will appear. So drag the slider and wait for the device to turn off. 📴 After turning off the device, wait a few minutes before pressing and holding the power button to turn it back on.

5. Check Instagram server status

We’re often so quick to blame our devices, but the problem is more global than we sometimes think. Instagram might be down for a while or have a server-side issue; It’s not like it never happened!

Instagram may be temporarily down and as a result your voicemail is not being sent or is not working properly.

To that end, we recommend checking Downdetector for Instagram’s page to see if other users are sharing similar reports.

Here you can check the comments section and live map to see if users near you are encountering a similar problem.

Also, you can also tell this by trying to play/load something in the app. Whether you’re trying to open your friend’s stories, following a page, or sending a simple text message to a loved one. If any of these didn’t work, Instagram’s servers should be the culprit.

6. Install pending Instagram updates

It’s important to ensure you’re running the latest version of the Instagram app to get the latest features and bug fixes. So if you don’t see the microphone icon to record voice messages in your Instagram chat box, it could be due to an outdated app version.

Apart from that, there may be an issue or bug 👾 with the previous app version that causes your Instagram voice message not to send, play or work.

Even if this feature is available on your device, it may not work if your Instagram as a receiver is not in a high enough version.

To update the Instagram app on your device:

First, open your App Store (Apple) or Play Store (Android). From there, visit the Instagram app page. If updates are available, tap the Update button.

Additionally, for Android devices, you can get the beta version of the Instagram app that will get the latest and unreleased updates. Users have noticed that the messaging feature tends to work better and is bug-free in this beta version.

7. Update your device’s operating system

Aside from Instagram app updates, OS or kernel updates are equally important to ensure your device stays optimized, bug-free and running on the latest version. This step also allows us to install driver updates for various device components, including the microphone drivers, so it works well with the latest apps like Instagram.

Therefore, an outdated operating system can be the cause of your microphone not working on Instagram and voice messages not being sent or not working properly.

However, to check for OS updates on your device:

For Android

First, open the Settings app, scroll down and select System. After that select System Update. Then you can tap Check for updates on this page to check for pending updates.

Note: These steps may differ between Android devices depending on your phone model and current OS version. However, you should find that the steps are generally as above.

For iOS

First, open the Settings app and tap General. Next, select Next software update to check for pending updates.

8. Test and improve your internet connection

Needless to say, to send or load messages on Instagram, let alone voice memos, a stable and sufficient internet connection is an important requirement. So if your internet connection is weak or keeps dropping connection, it can be a reason why your Instagram voice message is not sending, playing or working properly.

Overall, you need the internet to connect to the servers as well as transmit your outgoing voice memos and load the incoming messages.

We therefore recommend that you first test your Internet speed on Fast.com to identify speed drops.

From there, you might notice that your connection is showing low speeds or high latency. Then we recommend you try the following steps to improve your internet connection:

Turn Airplane mode ✈️ on and off again

✈️ and then turn it off. Connect to a different Wi-Fi network

Switch between mobile internet and Wi-Fi

and reset your network settings (step 17)

9. Enable microphone access for the Instagram app

As mentioned, to use Instagram’s voice messaging feature, the app understandably needs the necessary permissions for the device’s microphone 🎤. Thus, this acts as a security barrier so that only apps you’ve allowed use that resource or peripheral.

But don’t worry, you can set it so that the apps only use it when needed and not always. Of course, apps must not unknowingly eavesdrop on your daily conversations! 😳

Usually, when you use the voice messaging feature or record videos in the app (especially for the first time), you’ll get a message asking if you want to give Instagram access to your microphone. Therefore, you should select OK or Settings at the prompt and enable from there.

However, you may still need to quickly double-check this setting to make sure it’s actually enabled. So, the following steps show how to manually enable these microphone permissions in your system settings:

For Android

The steps below apply to the latest versions of Android, but older versions have almost identical steps.

First, open the Settings app. You can also find this quickly by sliding down the navigation panel or notification menu and tapping the gear icon ⚙️ in the top right corner of the panel. After that select Apps and notifications (on some devices this may also be called Application manager). Select Instagram here.

Then select Permissions and under Denied select Microphone. We need to make sure that permission to access the device’s microphone is enabled.

So choose either Allow or Allow while using the app.

For iOS

First, open the Settings app. Scroll down and select Instagram.

Then, under Allow Instagram access, turn on the switch next to Microphone.

Note: You may find that these permissions were already enabled. In this case, we recommend updating the settings by toggling the switch off and on again.

10. Check screen time limit settings

This is another setting often overlooked by iOS users who are experiencing microphone issues 🎙️ where Instagram voice messages are not sending or playing properly.

Basically, this setting affects how the Instagram app accesses your device’s microphone. So, under Screen Time settings, you’ll notice the content and privacy restrictions that can prevent newer apps from accessing your device’s microphone if configured incorrectly.

Usually these restrictions are not a big problem as they are disabled by default. However, we recommend checking these settings again.

Therefore, the following steps are to check Screen Time Limit settings on your iOS device:

First, select the “Screen Time” option in the “Settings” app. After that, select Content and Privacy Restrictions.

Next, select Microphone.

Then, with Allow Changes enabled, turn on the switch next to Instagram.

11. Disconnect any wireless or wired headphones and turn off Bluetooth

It’s worth noting that audio is often recorded with this device’s microphone when your device is connected to an external headset 🎧 or speakers 🔊, whether wired or wireless. So if the microphone on this device has a hardware issue, it can further degrade the quality of the recorded audio. This could be the reason why your recorded voice or Instagram voice memo appears muffled or inaudible.

So, try to unplug and unplug all headphones and speakers connected to your device. Then try again to record your voice message on Instagram.

Also, your device may be unknowingly connected to an external speaker/headset as well. This is likely to happen wirelessly with Bluetooth speakers, which your device may automatically connect to.

Therefore, we recommend turning Bluetooth off completely to avoid unwanted automatic connections. To do this, open the control center (iOS) or the navigation menu (Android) and tap on the Bluetooth icon to turn it off (grey/colorless).

12. Test your microphone with other apps

To verify if there is indeed a hardware issue, we recommend testing the device microphone with other apps that use it. So, if your microphone isn’t working on Instagram, it could be the case with other similar apps as well. This will also help you troubleshoot the overall microphone quality.

Therefore, we recommend using your device’s default voice recorder app or Voice Memos on iOS for this purpose. Since this app is optimized for use with the device microphone, it therefore serves as a great test subject.

Open and use this app to record your voice, then play the recording to identify quality loss or breaks.

Apart from that, you can try the voice memo feature in other messaging apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, etc.

All of these tests can help you determine if your default microphone is sufficient for voice messaging on Instagram. If not, you might have better luck with an external microphone (Step 13), which can give you better quality audio recording.

13. Use an external microphone

Suppose you realize from the previous step that your device’s microphone just doesn’t cut it for voice messages on Instagram. In this case, you can try using a different microphone, even if you have it lying around your house. This step is for further troubleshooting if there is a hardware issue with your default device microphone.

You can even use a headset for this purpose, which will likely have a built-in microphone. For iOS users, you can use the standard microphone that comes with every iPhone. That being said, a pair of AirPods should also be a great test subject!

Overall, if you find that those external mics do a better job, they can be the perfect replacement for voice messaging on Instagram. This also gives you cleaner and sharper audio quality.

14. Try sending a voice memo on another device or Instagram account

If none of the above solutions worked, there could be a problem with your device again. So, this step is for identifying or fixing that particular hardware issue.

Unfortunately, you cannot try the voice messaging feature on the Instagram website as this feature has not yet been adopted. Instead, you can try logging into the same Instagram account but on a different device and test sending or playing voice messages.

If the voice features are still not working, the next few steps will definitely help!

Otherwise, assume that you only have this problem on a specific device and none of the above steps worked. We recommend that you contact the original manufacturer of your device for further closures and necessary corrections.

In addition, you can take a step in a different direction and try to send or play voice messages on another Instagram account. This will help you identify and fix an account error that is causing an issue with your Instagram mic or voicemail. If this is the case, we recommend visiting it using Instagram Help (Step 18) to identify account issues and get appropriate fixes.

15. Clear Instagram app cache

The more you interact with the Instagram app, in this case by playing and loading voice messages, the app saves data or cache. So, with this cache built up, the app can quickly load those messages next time you want to play them. Therefore, these messages do not need to be downloaded again from scratch.

But not only voice messages but also other interactions in the Instagram app can cause these cache files to take up a large chunk of your internal storage as well. From there, these caches can become corrupted and the available memory is reduced at the same time, leading to app bugs. 👾

Therefore, we recommend clearing this Instagram app cache from time to time to make sure everything is ok:

For Android

The steps below apply to the latest versions of Android, but older versions have almost identical steps.

First, open the Settings app, then tap Apps & notifications. Next, select Instagram from the list of apps.

After that, tap Storage & Cache. Finally, tap Clear Cache, and then select Clear Storage.

Note: For iOS devices, unlike Android, there is no one-click option to clear all Instagram app data. Instead, for a similar and better effect, we recommend completely reinstalling the app (Step 16).

16. Reinstall the Instagram app

If you continue with the previous step, you can consider to completely reinstall the Instagram app for an improved effect. This will not only allow us to erase all app data that may have been corrupted, but also fix installation errors. Hence, these installation issues could be a possible cause of your microphone not working on Instagram.

Also, we recommend this step for iOS users as it is the only option to clear app data.

In general, the steps to reinstall Instagram app are similar on most devices:

First, long press on the selection menu or go to settings to uninstall Instagram. Then select Uninstall or remove app.

Next, you can either restart your device (step 4) or go straight to your app store to install the Instagram app.

Finally, restart the newly installed Instagram app and see if you can send or play voice messages on Instagram again.

17. Reset the network settings

A network connection error could be the cause of your voice messages not being sent or played on Instagram. Therefore, one way to solve such internet problems is to reset your device’s network settings. So there might be some network settings that are pausing your Instagram voice messages.

By doing this, your device will wipe all network information and start collecting it from scratch. So, after performing this step, you will find that saved Wi-Fi connections, passwords, configured VPNs, ports and other network settings will be erased. Therefore, you can start with a clean slate in the respective network.

To reset the network settings on your device:

For Android

First, in the Settings app, scroll down and select System. Next select Reset options and select Reset Wi-Fi, mobile devices and Bluetooth.

For iOS

First, in the Settings app, select General, scroll down and select Reset. Next select Reset network settings.

18. Report the problem with the voice message or microphone to Instagram Help

When all else fails, you have no choice but to speak to the qualified establishments yourself.

Here’s how:

Hängen Sie gegebenenfalls Bilder an.

Conclusion

Can someone see how many times you viewed their Instagram profile 2022?

Instagram doesn’t allow users to see who views their profile. So if you look through someone’s profile and don’t like or comment on a post, there’s no way for them to know who sees the pictures.

[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

Instagram has a lot of cool features besides its photo filters and hashtags. But can you see who is viewing your Instagram profile? Here is the answer.

Scrolling through Instagram can be great inspiration for everything from selfie captions to fashion choices, thanks to friends, family, and influencers with likeable photos. You might even be that inspiration for someone else. Whether people are viewing your profile out of curiosity or admiration, is it possible to see who is viewing your Instagram profile?

Can You See Who Views Your Instagram Profile?

Instagram does not allow users to see who is viewing their profile. So if you’re looking through someone’s profile and don’t like or comment on a post, there’s no way for them to know who’s seeing the pictures. “Similar to Facebook, users cannot see who has viewed their profiles, regardless of the type of profile they have: personal, work, or creator,” says Reggie Azevedo Filho, who works for social media management platform Traject Social works (here’s how to block someone on Facebook Messenger by the way). This applies to both users with accounts and people without accounts who use the internet to browse Instagram publicly. According to Alex Heid, chief research and development officer at SecurityScorecard, Instagram Business accounts show statistics about traffic volume but not specific profile information. According to an Instagram representative, business accounts specifically show the number of people who have visited your profile in the past seven days, or how many people have seen your posts on their feed. Here’s what it means to restrict someone on Instagram.

Here’s how to see who’s viewing your Instagram Stories

If you share more Instagram stories than posts, you’ll have better luck finding out who’s viewing your content. Users who view stories will appear in an “Viewer List” for 24 hours after the story goes live so that the original poster can see them. “This gives you insights into the specific viewers who viewed your photo, video, or story post for the same time period that your post is active,” says Azevedo. After 24 hours the list will disappear, but if you save your stories you can still see the number of people who have seen them (and who). You must be logged in to see this information. By the way, here’s how to see who unfollows you on Facebook.

Is there a third party app that I can use to see who is viewing my Instagram profile?

Facebook acquired Instagram in 2012, so there’s some overlap in privacy settings. So, like Facebook, no third-party apps will tell you who is viewing your Instagram profile. “Anything that advertises a feature that shows who viewed your profile would not be a legitimate service and should be avoided as it’s probably just an app designed to collect data for those who use it” , says Heide. There is no indication that Instagram will ever decide to allow users to see who is viewing their profile. Next, you’ll learn how to tell if someone blocked you on Instagram.

Can someone see how many times you viewed their Instagram story 2022?

The good thing is you can see who’s viewed your Instagram Story in general, even though you can’t see the number of times they have viewed it or even when they viewed it. To check out the people looking at your Story, tap on your profile picture to access your most recent Story and swipe up.

[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

If you’re an Instagram fanatic, you know that the app provides tons of analytics to its users. Instagram shows you who has liked your posts on your timeline, who views your stories, and the total number of views your stories have had. But can you see how many times someone has viewed your Instagram Story? If you were hoping to get a glimpse of your friends’ and followers’ viewing habits (say, someone you’re in love with), you may be out of luck.

Currently, there is no way for Instagram users to see if a person has viewed their story multiple times. As of June 10, 2021, the story feature will only track total views. However, you may notice that the number of views is higher than the number of people who have viewed your story. This is because the story view count includes repeats of your story per Instagram. Unfortunately, there is a way to see who repeated your story. So if you see that your views are greater than the people list, you can bet someone has viewed your story more than once. This is great if you don’t want to get caught looking at your crush’s story over and over (and over) but bad if you want to find out if your crush is doing the same for you.

The good thing is that you can see who viewed your Instagram story in general, although you cannot see how many times they viewed it or when they viewed it. To see the people watching your story, tap your profile picture to access your latest story and swipe up. From there you can see all the names of the people who have viewed the story if you tap the “Viewed By” icon in the bottom left corner. Again, you don’t see how many times individuals have been watching, but it does give you a good idea of who is generally watching them. This is also where you can see answers to questions and polls related to your story if you want to get more insights from your followers.

Carl Court/Getty Images

According to Instagram, if you missed checking who viewed your story, you can still see it up to 48 hours after it was posted. To do this, go to your profile and tap the three bar icon in the top right corner of the page. Then select your “Archive” and “Stories”. From there, tap on your recent story and you should be able to see Views. However, they disappear after the 48-hour mark, so make sure you check before the time runs out.

Another frequently asked question about privacy on Instagram is whether people know if you share their Instagram Story. There are a few answers to this question, and it all depends on how you share. There are three different ways to share someone else’s Instagram story on your own Instagram story or account. First, you can share an IG story directly tagged with your own story. Second, you can take a screenshot of their story and post it as an uploaded image from your camera roll to yours. (If you do, be sure to tag the original poster so they get credit for the post.) The other option is that you can share it by sending it directly to someone via Instagram Direct Message. Remember that sharing a private account’s story means it’s only visible to your followers who are also following the account.

If you choose to share a story in the first way you share a story you’re tagged in, the person who tagged you in their story will receive a notification that you shared the picture in your story to have. If you choose to share a screenshot of an Instagram Story, the person won’t get a notification that you took a screenshot, but keep in mind that if they follow you, they’ll likely come across it anyway. If you direct message someone else’s story to someone else, the story poster won’t be notified either, but remember that the person who posted it can see if the person you sent it to have viewed the story.

Although you can’t see how many times someone has viewed your story, Instagram offers many other cool insights when you share stories with your followers.

How do I know who stalks my Instagram?

See Who Views Your Stories

One of the easiest ways to identify your Instagram stalker is to upload a photo or video to Instagram Stories and check the bottom left of the screen to see the accounts that have viewed it. Pay particular attention to the users who don’t follow your account but watch your Stories regularly.

[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

Though many of us claim to be increasingly concerned about our online privacy, the way we share so much of our lives on social media suggests otherwise.

But while you might want your friends and family to see your Instagram posts, the idea of an Instagram stalker combing through your photos and videos isn’t very appealing. Whether it’s a complete stranger or an ex who can’t let you go, exposing those who are following your Instagram account will make it easier to confront or block them.

So how can I check who is stalking my Instagram? Read on to find out!

Look at your profile interactions

If you’re looking for people on Instagram who might be stalking you, the easiest way to find them is to check your profile interactions. Although you can’t see if anyone has viewed your posts, those who follow your Instagram account regularly may have liked or commented on a post, either because they thought you wouldn’t notice, or by mistake.

You should also pay attention to the users who like your posts but don’t follow you. Since your posts don’t appear in their feed, they would have to specifically check your account to see updates from you.

Check your followers

If you have a public profile, checking your followers can be a useful way to see who is viewing your Instagram content. Is there someone on the list you don’t know at all? Some may be mutual acquaintances while others could be business accounts interested in your contributions. But if one of your followers has few or no posts or followers and only follows a few other accounts, it is best to block them as they are likely a bot or an Instagram stalker.

See who’s watching your stories

One of the easiest ways to identify your Instagram stalker is to upload a photo or video to Instagram Stories and look for the accounts that viewed it in the bottom left of the screen. Pay special attention to the users who don’t follow your account but regularly view your stories. If a certain account often appears as one of the first viewers, there is also a good chance that they are stalking your Instagram story and profile.

Use third party apps

A final way to check your Instagram stalker is to use a third-party app. The many options include Follower Analyzer, Profile+, Find My Stalker, FollowMeter, and Stalker Reports.

These Instagram stalker apps promise to show you the users who follow and unfollow you, those who never or always like your posts, and those who blocked you. Some even promise to show you who viewed your Instagram account. But even though most Instagram stalker apps are free, we don’t recommend using them. Sharing your Instagram password with a third-party app can compromise your online security.

Who is stalking my Instagram?

If you’ve ever wondered, “Who is stalking my Instagram?” these tips can help you spot your Instagram stalker in no time.

From the strangers who check every update you post without ever following you, to your partner’s jealous ex when they lurk in your stories or accidentally like a post, finding them should be a lot easier now .

How do you listen to an audio message on Iphone without them knowing?

Disable Raise to Listen for Audio Messages in iOS to Prevent Weird Voice Text Behavior
  1. Open the “Settings” app and head to “Messages”
  2. Scroll down under ‘Audio’ and flip the switch for “Raise to Listen” to the OFF position.
[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

Raise To Listen is a handy feature in modern versions of iOS that lets you literally raise your iPhone to listen to a received audio message and respond by sending new voice text. But the feature isn’t entirely reliable for all users (especially those using an iPhone case, more on that in a moment) and can therefore cause some annoyances when a message is accidentally marked as played or played, and because audio messages default to from remove them yourself, these audio messages can disappear from your iOS device without ever actually being heard. Perhaps even more annoying, some third-party cases and protective screen products can cause the Raise to Listen reply feature to trigger at inopportune times or cut off in the middle of a spoken text, sometimes sending an incomplete audio message.

As you might have guessed, if the “lift to listen” audio message is misbehaving, you can often solve the problem by removing the case or a third-party protective layer from the iPhone. But for some users who tend to drop their devices, going without cases doesn’t always make sense. As such, Raise to Listen troubleshooting is difficult for those of us who rely on protective cases. Another option is to simply disable the Raise to Listen and Raise to Respond feature for now and prevent erroneous listening or response behavior.

Open the Settings app and go to Messages. Under Audio, scroll down and toggle the Raise to Listen switch to the OFF position

Very simple, and while you’ll lose the Raise to Listen and Raise to Respond features, this will also prevent the inconsistent behavior that causes messages to be read before listening or sent before the recording is complete.

Proximity sensor interference a likely cause of strange audio message behavior

Why doesn’t Raise to Listen always work consistently or incorrectly detect you’re trying to listen to or record a message? It’s hard to say with absolute certainty, but for many users the problem isn’t really the Raise to Listen feature in iOS, but rather the third-party case or shield they put on their iPhone. This is especially true if the iPhone case is one of the bulky protective models where it may cover or cloud part of the proximity sensor near the iPhone earpiece speaker, which is pointed out here:

On a white iPhone this is fairly obvious, but black iPhones hide the sensor very well, making it almost invisible. Similarly, many of the clear plastic protective shields placed on iPhone screens to protect it from scratches can interfere with Raise to Listen and cause it to behave strangely. Another solution would of course be to cut out the part of the plastic cover (or case) that covers this sensor, but if more bulk is added to the iPhone it still might not work quite as intended, so buy a case that doesn’t interfere with it the sensor is perhaps a better solution. Or just disable the setting if you find it annoying.

How do I replay a voice message?

Again, just press the key on the dial pad that represents the option that you want. In this case, you can press 4 to replay the message, 5 to hear more information about the message, or * to quit reviewing messages and go back to the main menu on your voicemail system.

[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

In our previous two Android phone lessons, we explained how to set up a voicemail account and choose the perfect greeting for callers when you can’t answer a call. That’s great and all, but you probably want to know how to check your voicemail messages so you know what the people who called you actually wanted!

If you don’t choose this last option, return to the beginning of this step.

7. When finished, hang up to exit your voicemail system.

If you have no more messages to retrieve or have otherwise checked your voicemail, press the red end call button to exit your voicemail system and end the call.

That’s more or less how it’s done! Since options may vary by airline, we’ve put together a cheat sheet for you below. If you’re using a popular wireless service provider, you’ll need to press these keys when checking your voicemail messages.

Popular Voicemail Shortcuts for Telcos

What Does Replayed Mean On Instagram? – The Nina

Replay Message: This option allows the recipient to read your message again once. Instagram messages can be replayed right after the first view, but must be done before closing the app or switching to another screen.

What does it mean when someone repeats your photo on Instagram? In the Instagram app, users can now decide whether recipients want the image or video to be seen only once, played back temporarily, or displayed permanently in the chat thread. If the recipient requests “allow viewing,” the photo or video can be acted on again for a limited time before it’s removed from the chat.

Can you tell if someone is repeating your picture on Instagram? If someone takes a screenshot of your photo and you’ve set it to view once or allow replay, an icon will appear next to the message. Additionally, if you’re using Instagram while someone takes a screenshot of your photo, you’ll get an in-app notification.

How do you play back a message on Instagram? If you only want your friends to see one message, select One View. If you want to allow your friends to view your messages later, select Allow Playback. You can tap and hold to pause your friends’ photos and videos sent with the Allow loop.

How do you know if someone has listened to your audio message on Instagram? You can see if someone has read the Instagram Direct application by looking at the text. If the message does not appear after sending, you can slide it to the left after sending. A delivery time is displayed and if someone sees it, they will know when it will be delivered.

Can someone see if I’m playing their Instagram story? The Instagram user can see who is viewing their story, but they don’t know how many times they’ve viewed it: how many times you’ve viewed it.

Does Instagram notify you when you play back a picture? Instagram also explained in a blog post that if someone plays a missing video, they’ll get a notification. You can send anything you want, from inside jokes to the worst selfies. In Direct, unlike other messages, these photos and videos disappear from your friends’ inboxes after they see them.

Can You Tell If Someone Rewatches Instagram Stories? It’s impossible to tell if someone has viewed your story more than once, even if you can see who has viewed your story. A list of people was created based on when your story was viewed. In the future, the user will no longer be able to view your story.

Does Instagram Tell You When You Replay a Video? You will actually be notified if you take a screenshot of the message or replay the message when it disappears from the Instagram app.

Does Instagram Story replays notify? As of now, Instagram users can’t see if someone has viewed their story more than once. According to the story feature, the number of views will not be collected until June 10, 2021.

Does Instagram notify you when you replay a missing message? You will actually be notified if you take a screenshot of the message or replay the message when it disappears from the Instagram app.

Can you see if someone is repeating your voice message on Instagram? A person can replay a message on Instagram after viewing it for the first time. If the recipient repeats the message, you can see if it was sent to them. The image can remain in the chat indefinitely if you choose this option.

Can you tell if someone has been listening to your audio message? Blue microphones indicate the voice clip has been opened… you’ll see that when you do it. However, Messenger can’t tell if you’ve opened the clip, only if you’ve seen it. Also, after you listen to an audio message, the Messages app deletes it after two minutes.

Can you listen to Instagram voice messages without the sender knowing? With a clever trick, you can read someone’s Instagram messages without their knowledge. However, the new Restrict feature allows you to read a friend’s DMs without triggering the “seen” icon on Instagram. Instagram explains that they can’t see when you’re online or if you’ve read their messages.

Hello emmy585,

[Working] 4 Ways to Read Instagram Direct Messages without Being Seen

Want to read Instagram messages without being seen or letting the other person know? Well, there are at least 5 ways to read WhatsApp messages without seeing them, but what about Instagram? Also, if you use Instagram at night, check out how to use dark mode in Instagram across devices.

Read Instagram direct messages without marking them as seen

There are several ways to verify Instagram DMs without sending the read receipts. You can either use Instagram’s restrict feature, turn off your internet, or even use third-party services. Read the steps below in detail.

1. Read Instagram messages without being seen through restriction

Back in 2019, Instagram introduced a feature to restrict people to curb bullying on the platform. If you restrict someone, Instagram will hide their comments on your posts from other people, and their messages will be moved to the Requests section. Learn more about restricting on Instagram here.

Now reading messages in requests doesn’t mark them as seen. The other person never knows if you read their message or not. An easy way to read Instagram Direct Messages without being seen is to restrict the other person and then review the messages in the Requests section as follows:

Open Instagram on your phone. Go to the profile of the person whose direct messages you want to read without marking them as seen. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. Select Restrict from the available options. Click Restrict Account to confirm.

Now click the Message button on the person’s profile. You can now read all Instagram messages without informing the other person.

Now go back to their profile and remove the restriction. The messages are still not marked as seen and you can take your time to reply.

2. Disable Wi-Fi/Data to hide Instagram read receipts

Turn off the internet of the easiest ways to read an Instagram message without marking it as seen. However, it doesn’t work well for images or videos. Also, the messages will be marked as read as soon as you go back online.

Disable your phone’s mobile data or Wi-Fi connection to take it offline. Now go to Instagram Direct Messages tab. Read the received message. Now Android users can go to their phone’s Settings > Apps > Instagram > Force Stop to stop it running in the background. You can now get back online and the message will not be marked as seen unless you open the Instagram app. For iPhone users, I suggest staying offline until you’re ready to engage with the message because once you go online it will be marked as read.

3. Disable internet and log out

This is very similar to the trick above. However, there is no risk of the message being marked as seen if you accidentally go online or Instagram connects to the internet in the background. This is how it works:

Disable your phone’s mobile data or Wi-Fi connection to take it offline. Now go to Instagram Direct Messages tab. Read the received message. While still saying offline, go to Instagram Settings, scroll down and tap Sign Out.

OR you can clear Instagram app data directly from your phone settings. You will now be signed out of the Instagram app. You can now reconnect to the internet – the message will not be marked as read.

4. Read Instagram DMs secretly using third party services

Several third-party services allow you to connect and read your Instagram messages without notifying the other user. For example, AirGrow allows you to read messages without sending read receipts. It also has the option to email your DMs.

However, we don’t generally prefer this method as other methods are fairly easy. They also come with certain privacy risks – only use them if you can trust these third-party services with your data.
