What colour lipstick goes with khaki?

A khaki eye and a bright pop of color on lips strikes a nice balance. Slick lips with a bright coral or even a tomato red gloss, suggests Ciucci.

How to (Tastefully) Clash Your Lipstick With Your Outfit

In the beauty world, khaki is having a moment — and it’s totally glamorous. A refreshing departure from traditional black or gray, khaki is still deep and smoky without being boring. “With khaki, it’s possible to create the depth and drama needed to achieve the smoky look,” says Gato, a Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist who loves working with the shade. But there’s a warmth to the hue that makes it softer and more wearable, he says. “There’s gold pigments in there that make it perfect for spring.”

Even better, “It’s a surprisingly universally flattering shade,” says makeup artist Ashleigh Ciucci. Anyone can sport the olive green hue, but Ciucci suggests varying it in richness depending on your skin tone. Keep it more transparent if you have light or fair skin and increase the intensity if you have a darker complexion. And because khaki contains hints of yellow, blue, gold, and black pigments, it goes well with all eye colors, Gato adds. Although those with hazel and gray-blue eyes will look particularly radiant in this shade, he adds.

Get the look:

How Gato created the bold eye for Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring ’17 show.

Step 1: create depth

Gato created a creamy dark base by blending Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Ultra Black with Dream Cushion Foundation. He applied the mixture around the eye with his finger.

Step 2: Add Drama

Then he used the gel pen again, this time outlining the waterline of the eyes.

Step 3: Go Green

Gato then applied the star product, Maybelline Expert Wear Mono Eyeshadow in Khaki Camo, over the black base – along the upper and lower lash line and into the corners of the eyes.

Step 4: Finish with fringes

The finishing touch: a few layers of Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascaraon on the upper and lower lashes, a volumizing lifting formula that creates a false lash look without the hassle of applying streaks.

A more casual khaki

Away from the runway, you could simply layer the khaki shade over the black liner for a similar depth with hints of rich green. If you don’t want to go full smoky, another twist is to ditch the dark liner and line the waterline with a nude or cream pencil to lighten it, says Ciucci. For the look, try the Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil in Walk of Shame. Adjusting the texture of the khaki can also brighten the look. Go with a sheer, shimmery formula (powder or cream), Ciucci suggests. We like Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Mildew, a pretty golden moss green (despite its off-putting name). Apply with a fluffy eyeshadow brush for the purest application. Or, to just dip your toe into the trend, try a touch of khaki liner along the upper and lower lash lines and smudge. Try Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stash.

What to wear with your khaki

At the Rebecca Minkoff Show, Gato paired the eye with a golden highlight on the cheeks and a clear balm on the lips, but there are plenty of options that work with the green shadow. Like the pants, the khaki shade serves as a neutral—it can go with just about anything. “You can pair it with any of the colors that make it up: gold, blue, yellow, black,” says Gato. Here are a few foolproof combinations and how to get the look.

Khaki + Bronzy Cheeks: Khaki pairs really well with warm tones, says Ciucci. She likes a khaki eye with bronze or peach cheeks and a gold or champagne highlight. Try L’Oréal Paris True Match Blush in Precious Peach with Maybelline Face Studio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter in Deep/Gold. Finish off the look with a sheer peachy lip. Try NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie in Cheekies.

Khaki + Coral Glossy Lips: A strong eye doesn’t necessarily mean a barely visible lip. A khaki eye and a pop of bright color on the lips create a beautiful balance. Sleek lips with a bright coral or even tomato glow, Ciucci suggests. Try Lancôme Gloss In Love at Glittermania.

Khaki + Fuchsia Lips: A green eye and a blue-based pink-fuchsia look is another powerful pairing. Try L’Oréal Color Riche Balm Pop in Wild Lily.

Khaki + Light Blue: “Personally, I think the contrast between khaki and light blue or even bright orange is really cool,” says Gato. “For example, use khaki to create the smoky eye and use light blue or orange eyeshadow or liner to highlight the inner corners of your eyes,” he says. Try Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow in Teal The Deal.

How do you wear bright pink lipstick?

How to Wear Bright Pink Lipstick
  1. Hold up with the blush. I have an on/off relationship with blush anyway, but when pink lips come into the equation it needs cooling off even more than usual. …
  2. Work your way up to it. It’s the same rule that’s followed with lips. …
  3. Find your hue. …
  4. Don’t think of it as a red.

How to (Tastefully) Clash Your Lipstick With Your Outfit

Something strange has come over me in the past few weeks. I started a little love affair with pink lips. Easier to wear than reds and an instant perker-upper face; My stash of blushing pout has now doubled thanks to a few hits in this particular category. Oops. But I can’t get enough – fuchsias, nude, warm, cool, you name it – they’re just the perfect accompaniment for lazy days when I don’t have to bother with anything special for the eye. While there’s a knack for it, today I’m sharing my Pink Lip 101: how to wear it and my favorites I’ve found so far…

Stop with the blush. I have an on/off relationship with blush anyway, but when pink lips come into play it takes even more cooling off than usual. If you’re naturally reddish like me then skip this altogether, but if you really, really are your solution, just choose a shade that’s not too far off from what you want to smother your lips with. If you overdo it, just sweep your foundation brush or sponge over it and you’re back to square one. Finished.

Prepare for it. It’s the same rule followed with lips. If you distrust boldness, start with a sheer, glossy texture—erry’one loves this one—then build up to a medium color wash with a satin finish. Then, before you know it, you’ve grown the balls to throw a bold shade of rose like a boss.

Find your shade. Pink lips work in the same color spectrum as reds; there are your warmer, more yellowish tones, and then your cooler bluish tones. Not everyone is going to be equally flattered in every single color, so experiment to find what works best for you. Personally, rosy hues tend to suit me, but when I want something truly unexpected, I like to rock a sinfully cool fuchsia.

Don’t think of it as red. Purple is a color that many of us shy away from in the beauty world, but pink really doesn’t need to be approached in the same way. Our lips are naturally this color – remember that.

Pep talk ticked off, let’s quickly move on to sunglasses getting two big VDM thumbs up. I’ll start with the scissors. The Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch I’m wearing in the left picture – although not the fanciest of formula (a bit dry) – is a good place to start and a nice one to layer over bolder formulas to calm the color down. Two that sit a little higher on the pigment scale are The Body Shop’s Color Crush Shine in 14 and Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick, both of which have high-shine formulas that linger on the lips.

Something that sits in the middle is the YSL Kiss & Blush in 1 which I’m wearing in the middle picture. It goes on quite wet, the applicator is the perfect size, but it dries and stays on well. I love the color too – I think it’s my favorite of them all, in fact. If you really want to dial it up, I have two in my collection for you. Bourjois’ Velvet Edition in Pink Pong – cute name, great formula or CHANEL’s Rouge Allure Velvet in La Diva, which I’m wearing on the far right. Both fall into the shockingly pink category and agree with my belief that when things get loud on the lips, it’s always better to go matte.

So my parting question for you is – how badly do I need NARS Schiap (aka the supposed crème de la crème of the pink lip crop)?

Use either a white or nude base under Club to bring out more of the bronze. Use a black base (or black shadow) under Club to bring out the blue shift. Mint fashion is everywhere, from clothes to accessories, from makeup to nail polish, and even walls in our homes are painted in this flirty color. It’s so universally flattering on almost all skin tones and so fabulous paired with white, black, peach, beige, navy blue and just about every color of the rainbow – so what’s not to love?

Although mint green is such a chic and pretty color, it can look disastrous if not worn properly. You should pay attention to your own skin tone, the colors of the clothes you wear mint green with, and even the mint shades you choose. If you’re obsessed with this bright and flirty color, be sure to read our fashion tips for wearing mint green before going out and buying a mint green piece for you.

How to choose mint green pieces

The key to looking chic in mint green clothes is choosing the right shade of this invigorating color for you. Be honest with yourself and ask if mint green is the right shade for you and not for your girlfriend or just some stylish woman you saw on the street. Actually, not every color in the world is suitable for everyone. When choosing mint green, pay attention to your skin, eye, and hair color. For example, if you have dark hair, choose a slight hint of mint. Blondes are advised to experiment with darker shades of mint. Softly colored women are the luckiest as they can look amazing in almost any shade of mint green. Apply the paint and look at yourself from different angles. If it doesn’t look good on you, leave it at the store or buy a small batch of this color and try to wear it as far away from your face as possible.

How to wear mint green

Now that you’ve chosen the most flattering shade of mint for you, let’s put together some looks. Again, it’s really hard to nail this color without looking like a tube of toothpaste. That’s why most people choose to wear mint in small doses rather than head-to-toe. Always remember that a richer color should be less in your look to be more flattering.

Some great styling tips to keep in mind when wearing mint green:

• Mint green gives softness to cotton, coolness to cashmere, goes well with chiffon, silk and lace. Mint green is amazing on its own, or it can be paired with other pastel shades (powdery pink, beige, light), dark turquoise, or white.

• Navy blue is a color that looks great with mint and is flattering on all skin tones. Although navy can look too nautical with other colors, mint green creates a nice military corsair look.

• Mint is great as a summer color, but too much of it can be a bit minty fresh when overloaded. Mint also looks fantastic in combination with other eye-catching shades such as yellow, orange or green. For better results, choose some small accessories in these eye-catching shades and make your mint look more balanced.

• Make friends with soft pastel tones in mint green. This will create the ultimate sugary look. This fabulous shade of tenderness and femininity perfectly harmonizes with shades of powder, baby pink, lavender, nude and ice cream. Color blocking is a good idea here, so pick another pastel shade and play with those colors.

• The combination of white and mint results in the “mint to be” look. You can’t go wrong by pairing your mint pants, shorts or skirt with a white blouse. So if you have absolutely no idea what colors go with mint green, just stick with the purest color duo of mint and white. This can be a mint green skirt worn with a white top, white pants with a mint sweater, and a white or cream trench coat or jacket. The possibilities are endless, so trust your inner stylist and mix and match the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.

• Double mint and double pleasure. Mint on mint can look really pretty, so try combining two shades of mint together.

• Try the all mint look. Choosing the right pieces of clothing will surely make this look fabulous as well.

• Pastel mint jeans are bang on trend and can look great paired with a neutral solid color top or printed blouse that doesn’t go too boldly with your mint green. Complete your look with a mint trendy accessory, like a mint watch, or opt for metallic accessories. You can try the same look with mint green shorts or a mint skirt.

• Mint green is an amazing color to create beautiful retro looks no matter what garment you choose in this shade. It can be a single item or a head-to-toe mint look, and rest assured that you’ll look amazing either way.

• For contrasting and totally feminine looks, you can choose a sweet shade of pink combined with mint green. While pastel and powder pink look delicate and romantic with mint, some juicy pink tones through to fuchsia tones result in bright and powerful combinations with mint green. This can be a mint green dress with pink floral designs on it or some combinations of mint green and pink pieces. You can also keep your look soft and delicate by wearing mint green with white, for example, and then complete the whole look with a pair of fuchsia pumps.

• If you love mint but find it too girly, you can wear mint green with black to create sharp and contrasting looks. Black adds a lot of character to your mint looks and makes your outfit memorable and trendy. You can go head to toe in mint looks and accessorize your outfits with black shoes and a black bag, for example, or you can mix and match black and mint pieces as you see fit. As with white, it is absolutely impossible to make a style mistake when playing in the zone of black and mint. Additionally, black becomes an amazing shade to wear with mint during the colder fall and winter months. While mint green is mostly for the spring and summer seasons, who said wearing mint green in fall or winter isn’t possible! You just have to keep mint to a lesser extent and find the right shades for those months e.g. B. Black or Gray.

• Last but not least, if you are looking for a cocktail or casual dress in a different color than black, mint green can be the best choice. Again, think about your personal coloring and choose the shade that flatters you the most. In general, with a mint green dress you ensure an utterly romantic and fresh look wherever you go. A mint green dress is also a great first date look. You can also choose this shade for your bridesmaids especially if your wedding is in bright and romantic themes. To warm up your mint dress, complete your look with gold metallic accessories.

Choose mint green accessories

For all those fashionistas who love this fabulous color but don’t wear it confidently, you can go for mint green accessories. Think, for example, of mint green ballerinas or platform heels, mint green sunglasses, a mint green watch, a mint green hat, a mint green scarf, a belt or pieces of jewelery in this fresh colour. They are perfect to add a touch of color to your look. These accessories are especially fantastic when paired with a white dress and a super sexy tan.

Mint nails, mint eyeshadow, or just mint hair highlights are other “mint accessories” worth trying. Mint Beauty is bang on trend and definitely looks stunning. Plus, it’s a great trick to nail the mint green trend and convince others of your fashion sense.

Accessories for mint green clothing

Which accessories go well with a mint look? The perfect match will be gold or silver. Gold balances mint’s coolness and adds warmth, while silver revitalizes its freshness. Light pink also looks great with mint.

Where to wear mint green

Mint is a great color for almost any occasion. You can wear it for a night out or for a walk. Mint is great for special occasions: a mint dress is guaranteed to make you stand out from the crowd. To work, be careful not to overdo with this color. A mint-colored accessory or a shirt in a delicate light mint tone are perfect.

What makeup to wear with mint green

While a mint green dress or outfits can already make you look irresistibly stylish and cute, you should definitely pay attention to the make-up colors that you wear with mint green for the ultimate harmonious look. Silver eye makeup is the universal and win-win style to wear with mint green, and if you want to add more depth and expression to your eyes, you can combine metallic silver eyeshadows with black eyeliner. A mint green dress can also go with bluish green or turquoise eyeliner, just make sure to keep the rest of your face in neutral tones to avoid looking too colorful. When it comes to the right shade of mascara, black is the only right choice you should make.

Keep your lips neutral and soft when wearing a mint green dress. Although juicy berry shades can look cool on some girls, it’s quite the exception, so you’d better avoid red lipstick shades if you’re wearing mint green. Red lips and winged eyeliner can only look truly flirty with mint green outfits if you really know how to nail the traditional pin-up and retro styles.

If you have a darker skin tone, you can skip applying blush, and if your complexion is a bit pale, go for some subtle shades of pink blush to add warmth to your overall look. Also remember that you should do your best to create the ideally smooth complexion as mint green tops and dresses tend to draw a lot of attention to your face and you definitely want it to look flawless.

When it comes to your nails, you should go for white, black or neutral nail polishes, which ideally complement your mint outfit.

The use of mint green in makeup and beauty is also a good idea, only in this case it is recommended to avoid wearing mint green clothes. This can be mint-green eyeshadow, mint-colored eyeliner or nail polish nuances that look wonderful with white, black or nude-colored outfits.

Mint is truly stimulating, fabulous and unlike others. As you can see, you can easily achieve beautiful looks and look fashion forward with Mint. However, be sure to keep the good in small portions or you risk turning from a princess into a frog.

Gray is a neutral color like black and white. It matches a wide range of lipstick colors. You can mix it with a burgundy lipstick to look sexy like Angelina Jolie. 7 Makeup Ideas for a Green Dress

When it comes to choosing a dress color for an upcoming event, the bright green hue is the perfect option. Aside from giving you endless options and a variety of shades to choose from, it’s also super complementary for most skin tones. However, the hardest part is figuring out what makeup ideas to try with a green dress and what shade of green best suits your skin tone. In this post, we will show you 7 makeup ideas for a green dress.

Our top makeup tips when wearing green

If you use green eyeshadow, make sure you match the color to the color of your dress. To intensify the color of your eyeshadow, mix in some black. Avoid too much green makeup like green eyeliner with green eye shadow. When choosing the accompanying make-up colors, opt for light gray or beige tones. If you don’t want to look like a Christmas elf, avoid bright reds and opt for softer coral or deeper reds. For a natural, earthy makeup look, create a subtle smokey eye with olive green eyeshadow. For an effortlessly natural look, opt for a bronze eye and a peachy lip. A neutral lip color gives you a wonderfully understated look and goes well with a bold look. Pearl-colored highlighters are great for contrasting and illuminating your features, especially with an emerald dress. When applying eyeliner, thicken the line at the outer edge of your eyes for a bold contrasting look that pairs perfectly with a jade colored dress.

Top shades of green

As a general rule of thumb, the richer, darker-toned greens work better with fair skin tones, while the lighter and much lighter tones usually work better with medium to dark skin tones. With that being said, it’s always best to try on your garment before passing judgment on your chosen shade of green. Think back to art class – it’s all about light and shadow in the color you pick. Note that adding more white or black to a color can change the nature of the hue. This means that some darker colors can have a more muted tone when they contain more white, which pairs well with medium to dark skin tones. On the other hand, light or light tones can contain more black, making them better suited to fair skin tones.

Matching your lipstick to your outfit can create a coordinated, streamlined look. But sometimes you need an unexpected color contrast to make your ensemble your statement lip. Wearing colors that traditionally don’t go together to create a stylish look might seem counterintuitive, but according to celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose, perfecting the art of clashing is about confidence. “The key is to really try and make a statement so it’s clear you’re clashing on purpose.” To get you started, we’ve rounded up the expert-recommended lipstick shades that will tastefully clash with pieces in your closet. Conflict With: Red or Fuchsia Lipstick We see the red and yellow combo everywhere — namely in fast food joints on top of hot dogs and, surprisingly, everywhere on the red carpet. Yellow is a notoriously difficult color to wear, and pairing it with red, another primary color, is daring enough to make it work. Try a bold fuchsia lipstick for a similar effect that’s less formal. Conflict With: Orange or red lipstick Because orange and blue are complementary colors (meaning they oppose each other on the color wheel), wearing the colors together makes them stand out. Red lipsticks with a hint of orange have a similar effect. Conflict With: Red or Fuchsia Lipstick There’s a reason Christmas decorations catch your eye: red and green are complementary colors, too. Pair a classic red lip with a solid green dress. You can also experiment with light and deep fuchsia lip colors. Clash With: Pink Lipstick Don’t wait until Valentine’s Day to try this eye-catching color combo. Red and pink belong to the same color family, so pink lipstick can look surprisingly perfect with a bright red dress.
