How do I rearrange my Instagram posts 2022?

It has been revealed that this ability will reside under the “Profile Information” section under Settings. Once there, you will see an option called “Edit Grid”. It will let you rearrange your Instagram posts as per your liking. A simple drag and drop process will enable you to reorder the posts.

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

Instagram is known for adding several new features (big or small) to keep the user experience as smooth as possible for its massive 500 million daily active users. After announcing it is testing three new styles for the feed, the social media platform is now said to be rolling out a feature that will let you edit the order of posts in your profile grid. This is how it will work.

Instagram lets you rearrange your posts

In a recent post on Twitter, popular reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi suggested that Instagram is testing a new feature that will allow you to rearrange your posts to your liking. So if there are a few photos or videos you want to show people, you might be able to adjust the order. This feature might prove useful if you’re looking to rebalance your profile feed concept. #Instagram is working on the ability to edit the profile grid so you can rearrange posts in any order you want 👀 pic.twitter.com/fjmkJD4je2 – Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) January 10, 2022

It has been revealed that this ability is in the Profile Information section under Settings. There you will see an option called “Edit Grid”. With it, you can rearrange your Instagram posts to your liking. A simple drag-and-drop process allows you to reorder the posts. And when you’re done reorganizing, you can click Done to see the fruits of your labor on your profile page.

This allows Instagram to make changes to how your profile section appears to you and others. This feature comes in addition to the three ways to view the Instagram feed. The platform is testing three options, namely Home, Favorites, and Follow. Two of these styles show posts in chronological order, just like old times. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri explains these changes in a short video. You can check it right here:

Test feed changes 👀

We’ll start by testing the ability to switch between three different views on your home screen (two of which would give you the option to view posts in chronological order):

– home

– Favorites

– Following

We hope to launch these soon. There’s more to come. ✌🏼 pic.twitter.com/9zvB85aPSp – Adam Mosseri (@mosseri) January 5, 2022

The Home feed style displays posts as they are currently displayed; based on your interests. The Favorites feed style shows posts from the profiles you just don’t want to miss, and the Following style shows posts from the accounts you follow. These new capabilities are currently available to select users, but are expected to be available to everyone soon.

However, there is no word on when that will happen. The Edit Grid feature is currently under development. So it may or may not see the light of day. Although it would prove to be a cool addition to Instagram’s wealth of features! Want the ability to edit your Instagram profile grid? Let us know in the comments below!

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

Instagram Stories have been a huge hit since you could create your own Instagram Story for the first time in August. More and more brands are using Instagram Stories for their business, but just like Snapchat, there are limitations that make planning content challenging for marketers and business owners. The Biggest Instagram Story Challenge? You can only post photos or videos taken within 24 hours.

Everyone wants to create a good Instagram story, but how do you keep track of the work that goes into each story if you can’t prepare them in advance or upload old photos or videos to your Instagram story? Well, it turns out you can! Here are 4 ways to upload any photo or video to your Instagram Story, even if it’s over 24 hours old!

Why Hack Your Instagram Stories?

Marketing your business on Instagram is a constant battle between posting too often and not enough, so Instagram Stories is a complete game changer. You can be remembered for your customers and share as much as you want, with as much creative edge as you want, without worrying about people unfollowing you.

The problem, however, is that Instagram Stories only lets you post photos or videos that were taken within the last 24 hours – anything taken more than 24 hours ago won’t appear in the image picker. This makes it really difficult to prepare your stories in advance!

Wouldn’t it be great if you could prepare some photos and videos on Monday and then post them to your story throughout the week? Lucky for you, there is! Read on for our list of four ways to upload Instagram Stories older than 24 hours!

1. Take a screenshot

The first way (and probably the easiest for most people) is to simply take a screenshot of an old photo by pressing the Home and Sleep buttons at the same time. This will add the screenshot to your camera roll and since this screenshot is brand new you can upload it to your Instagram story.

The main disadvantage of doing this is that the quality of the photo will decrease slightly and you may need to crop the image to remove excess background before uploading.

2. Use Later’s media library

One of the best ways to bypass Instagram’s 24-hour limitation is to use Later’s free media library, which allows you to upload, store, and manage all your visual content!

First, download the Later app. Once set up, upload a photo or video from your desktop computer to your media library (you can also upload multiple photos and videos at once using our bulk upload feature).

Download the app

When you’re ready to post to your Instagram story, just open the Later app on your smartphone, navigate to the media library, and save the photo or video to your camera roll by clicking the ellipses button in the top right Tap the corner of your smartphone screen and select “Save to Camera Roll”. When you download a photo or video from your media library to your phone, it is saved with the current time and date.

Once you’ve saved the photo or video, open the Instagram app, swipe right from your feed to open the camera, then swipe down to select your recently saved media item from the image picker. As simple as that!

3. Use a third party app

A third option is to use a third party app to edit the metadata of your photos and videos or to save an updated version of your videos.

Edit the metadata with Pixelgarde

The metadata in your photos and videos is the information, the lens aperture, focal length, camera shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, whether flash was used or not, and of course when the photo or video was taken. By changing the metadata in a photo or video, you can trick Instagram into thinking it was taken in the last 24 hours.

The easiest way to do this is to download Pixelgarde, a free app that lets you add, remove, or change geotags, dates, time of day, and other metadata in your photos and videos. Pixelgarde has a free version of their app, but if you want to remove their watermark you can upgrade for $1.99!

First, download Pixelgarde from the App Store. Once installed, you can browse through your photos and videos in the app. Select the photo or video you want to post, tap Edit, then tap Change Date and Time. Change the date of the photo or video to the current date and click Done. Now when you navigate to your camera roll, the photo or video will appear as your most recent.

You can then open the Instagram app and select the photo or video to post to your story! We should mention that this app can be buggy at times. So if you want to use an app, uploading and downloading from Later’s library is probably easier.

Create a “project” using iMovie or a video show

We learned from a tip from Nicolle at @sotosocialmgmt that you can also save a new version of your videos using a video editing app.

Download the free iMovie app on your iPhone (or Video Show on Android). Tap Create Project, then tap Movie to browse the photos and videos you have stored on your smartphone. Select the video you want to post to your Instagram story and tap “Create Movie”.

You can edit the video in this window (add a filter or theme, music and transitions) or simply save the video to your photo library by selecting “Done” and then tapping the “Export” button and selecting “Save Video”. .

Finally, open the Instagram app on your smartphone, navigate to the Instagram Story camera by swiping right from your feed, then swipe down to open the image picker. Your saved video should appear as the first option to post!

4. Post to Instagram in flight mode

One final way to bypass Instagram’s 24-hour limitation is to post a photo or video to your Instagram feed while in airplane mode, and then save the edited version of that photo or video to your camera roll. Sounds complicated, but it is not!

First, enable Airplane mode on your smartphone. Once you’re disconnected from WiFi and cellular data, open the Instagram app and tap the “+” to upload a photo from your phone’s library.

When prompted, edit the photo or video as you normally would in Instagram (apply a filter, adjust contrast, crop or choose a border) and tap Share. Your photo or video won’t actually be posted because you’re in airplane mode, but Instagram saves a fresh copy of the edited photo or video to your camera roll.

Finally, turn off airplane mode and navigate to the image picker in Instagram Stories where you want the edited photo or video to appear. This is also a fun way to add filters or edit your Instagram photo before sharing it on your Instagram story!

Bonus: cut your boomerang GIFs!

Instagram’s Boomerang app, which launched last October, snaps a handful of photos in rapid succession and then turns them into a GIF-like loop that plays forward and backward.

Recently, Instagram added Boomerang to Instagram Stories. You can now quickly create GIFs for your Instagram Story without opening another app! Instagram’s GIF app Boomerang is now in the actual Instagram app, you’ll find it in the Instagram Stories camera.

To trim your Boomerang GIFs, open the Boomerang app and make a video. Next, tap “Save” and open the Boomerang GIF by navigating to your “Boomerang” folder in your photo library. Tap the Edit button and crop the GIF to the length you want. When satisfied, tap the “Done” and “Save as New Clip” button. You can now post the shortened Boomerang GIF on your Instagram story!

If you have an active audience on Instagram, you should use Instagram Stories. You have the power to create fleeting, light-hearted content without the challenge of building a Snapchat audience or starting a new channel. Hopefully our tips will save you time (and frustration) in creating your Instagram Stories!

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

Instagram is a place for students; where they can have fun, do business, explore and more. Aside from being fun and scrolling, the Instagram app has also become a brand and personal portfolio for many artists and intellectuals.

As it is used by all ages, its settings are meant to be simple and easy to understand, and they are.

You may have noticed that the Instagram app offers a game of pictures, IG videos, and an emerging trend of roles to interact with followers. You may need IG followers for better recognition. Just buy Instagram followers.

Instagram settings to upload an image, video or reels are in everyone’s hands, then what are the hidden Instagram account settings or hidden advanced features that maybe few Instagram users know about?

From here we’ll cover what advanced settings are in the Instagram app, what it does, where to find it, and how it works.

Advanced settings in the Instagram app

Advanced Instagram settings on any public website or social media application are the type of settings that are not necessarily required by every user, but only a certain proportion of its users may need and use this type of setting.

The same applies to advanced settings in the Instagram app. These are Instagram profile settings that only people who need them may be interested in using. We will later discuss who are potential users of these settings.

Who are potential users of the advanced settings on Instagram?

The advanced settings on Instagram are mostly used by business account users. The following type of users are more likely to use these for the purposes mentioned;

Artist

It includes artists from all over the world, including actors, models, makeup artists, photographers and tons more. They use Instagram to receive electronic communications and most likely for their digital portfolio.

It also helps them to find their work and the display of their art through the latest technology.

How do artists use advanced settings on Instagram?

These people mostly use advanced settings on Instagram to manage and hide their comments and likes. We know Instagram is a fun place. It’s also a great place for criticism. If you need extra likes to make Instagram followers jealous of you, buy Instagram likes.

The critics and trollers sometimes use offensive language and mean comments on artists’ posts, which is undoubtedly a mean act to hurt someone’s feelings, but since there is freedom of speech for everyone, no one can prevent it. Because of this, artists sometimes use disabling commenting features.

Another very important requirement for using advanced settings on Instagram is adding affiliate or sponsorship labels to their posts.

Where can I find advanced settings in the Instagram app?

Some of the Instagram settings can be difficult to find in Instagram profiles, such as: B. advanced settings. Has anyone ever wondered why they couldn’t access the advanced settings? I’m going to tell you the easiest way to access Instagram’s advanced configurations. I’ll tell you another secret, visit 1394ta for advanced Instagram services.

This is the most frequently asked question among potential users of these advanced settings in Instagram app. Because some say you can find advanced settings on Instagram by following these steps;

Find the Instagram app

Then you need to install Instagram for it to work properly. The Instagram app has been released on a number of platforms with simple interfaces. Open the application and select “Setups”.

You need to find “Account”. This option requires you to click on “Advanced Settings”. You can change the settings of the account. Or in another way, you can just follow the steps mentioned below;

1. Open Instagram and log into your Instagram account via desktop or Instagram mobile app

3. Under Settings, you’ll see Advanced Settings, and here it is!

It is undoubtedly very simple, but the thing is that this advanced settings feature on Instagram is not directly available for most of the users on Instagram and it may only be available in the latest version. I tell you the alternative method to find it for other users.

An alternative way to get advanced settings on Instagram

1. Go to your profile on your mobile device.

2. Go to add an image or add a new post option in the app represented by plus.

3. Choose photo by camera roll, reel or whatever you want to use as Instagram post.

4. Now click on the operation by pressing the arrow on your phone screen.

Is there an advanced setting for high quality photos?

Instagram does not allow image quality adjustment. For photos uploaded via Instagram, the image resolution may not match the image originally uploaded.

Instagram compresses the photos at a lower resolution than the original photos. Instagram tries its best to post amazingly high quality photos.

Explore advanced settings on Instagram

Now that you’ve found advanced settings on Instagram, it’s time to see what those settings are for. When you open the advanced settings menu, you’ll see a list of menus open right in front of you.

Hide likes and show counts for this post

The easiest means of hiding is to simply click the toggle button. If you select this option, only the images that you will see will be displayed. This prevents other users from seeing how many views a video has, or the number of views in recent posts.

How do Instagram users adjust their post count and other details? This is a great way to increase visibility on Instagram and improve search engine visibility. You can edit your post histories or create a monthly report that shows all your post histories.

Likes and views of your post depending on how perfectly you use an Instagram algorithm. That’s a separate discussion. Hiding likes and views for your specific posts is your requirement.

If you don’t want your followers and friends to see how many Instagram posts or pictures you have, you can select this option. If you want to be seen by many followers, try buying Instagram views as well.

If you keep this setting for your posts, the audience won’t be able to see the likes and view counts for your posts. However, you can still see your likes and the number of views for a specific post using the Insights option available for business and personal accounts. This feature is equally available for high quality photos or a lower resolution photo.

Instagram comments

The second option you see in the advanced settings is Comments. By default, Instagram allows comments on any post except for a profile picture. This allows you to disable or disable comments on a specific post. You can apply this to any post you don’t want the audience to comment on.

We see that many celebrities are already using this feature. You can also change this afterwards by clicking the 2 dot option at the top menu of a recent Instagram post.

Settings on Instagram

It allows your Instagram post to be automatically shared on your social accounts like Facebook if you wish. People with business accounts preferably use this more often because they can post the same thing on their Facebook page as well.

Your shared post can only be viewed by your Facebook friends. If they share the link with a business account, your post will share that link with others who follow you.

So it’s a very good time saver in that regard.

Accessibility or alt texts

Does that mean who can have access to your posts? Yes, in the accessibility option, there is an Alt Text option here that you can use to describe your Instagram photos for the visually impaired.

Alt text is descriptions of photos added by visually impaired users. You can upload your picture to Instagram.

You can just let Instagram do this for you automatically, or you can describe it yourself. This is a kind gesture of harmony with the visually impaired and we must appreciate everyone who uses it.

Branded content from Instagram photos or Instagram posts

This is how you can add a partnership label to your Instagram post. This is very helpful for influencers, artists, and celebrities who use paid affiliate labels to make their brands stand out and get them recognition.

We know that sponsorship is a new way of showing ads on Instagram, and branded content features with advanced settings run effectively on Instagram.

Is it helpful to use this feature?

It depends on user needs and preferences and how you want your Instagram post to appear on your Instagram feed. For users with a personal account, this is an effective Instagram account setting. Because they can customize how their posts look on the home screen.

If they want to use Instagram privacy by enabling comment-off feature, and for users with social account settings, it’s a bit more effective than they can;

1. Hide likes and views

2. Disable comments

3. Can share his Instagram photo or post on Facebook

4. Can provide visually impaired people with access to understand content

5. Tag people

In short

So, in the discussion above, we covered where to find advanced settings on Instagram, how to enable them, and how these settings benefit Instagram users.

In the end, I would say that making Instagram a value-added branding tool is an intellectual move by the Instagram executives and team.

Now it’s up to users how to use these advanced settings on Instagram because no matter what feature you use on Instagram; It’s all about fun, exploration and much more!

Can you change order of pictures on Instagram after posting?

You can change the order of photos in a photo dump to create an entirely new look. Instagram unveiled the option to edit a carousel of multiple images back in November 2021. Not only can you delete photos from a photo dump, but you can also rearrange your photo album by deleting and re-adding images to it.

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

Tired of the way your Instagram feed looks? You can change the order of photos in a photo dump to create a whole new look.

Instagram introduced the option to edit a multi-image carousel back in November 2021. Not only can you delete photos from a photo dump, but you can also rearrange your photo album by deleting and re-adding images. So if you want to keep all your photos in one carousel but want a different order, you can do that. This hack only works for photo dumps with more than two photos, because for it to work you must always keep two photos in the album.

SEE ALSO: How to Reactivate Your Instagram Account

This is a workaround, so it’s a little imperfect and you need to plan ahead. You need to strategically remove the photos from your dump so the remaining photos are what you want the first and second photos to be. You then add the removed photos back in the order you want them to follow those first two images.

We will walk you through how this Instagram hack works.

How to change the order of photos in a carousel on Instagram:

2. Navigate to the post you want to rearrange

Can you change a photo on Instagram after posting?

On Instagram, just like on Facebook, you can’t switch a photo or video after you’ve published your post. But if you don’t like your caption, you can change it, and you can also add or change any location tag, as well as add or delete account tags on the post.

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

Your eyes can get so tired from reading so many lines of web texts, sitting in front of a computer screen all day while maintaining leisure activities on your smaller phone screen in your free time. With all the heavy work they have to do these days, sometimes even multiple eyes can spot mistakes.

Maybe you clicked “Post” before pasting the link in your caption, or maybe you realize a word is misspelled a moment too late. Don’t panic (yet) – in this post, I’ll go over how to edit your social media posts after they’ve been published.

However, note that editing posts after they are published is not available on all platforms and there are limitations on what exactly you can edit.

Here are the post-editing features on some of the major social platforms.

Facebook

On Facebook, you can edit the captions of posts, but you can’t change images and videos.

If you’ve attached the wrong photo or video to your post, you’ll have to delete the whole thing and start over, but if you just misspelled a comma or a word, or even need to mark another mark, you can fix those items quite easily. And it’s worth noting that post editing is also available in Facebook’s Page Manager app.

One thing to keep in mind when editing posts on Facebook is that changes are visible and can be made by any Page admin. The same also applies to changes before publication of the contribution.

Each post’s edit history is also public, so your followers and page visitors can see it if they search for it.

Another thing to note is that Facebook posts that have been boosted or are part of an ad campaign cannot be edited.

To edit a post, simply tap/click the three dots at the top right of the post window and select “Edit Post”. Once you’ve made the necessary changes, select “Save” and that’s it.

Extra tip

If you edit your post in Facebook’s Pages app, you can add more photos to your post. This allows you to actually change the featured image – it’s possible to upload an additional photo to a post, save it, then go back to edit mode and delete the original image.

Twitter

Unfortunately, as has been widely announced and discussed, there is currently no option to edit tweets.

Twitter has at times hinted at the possibility of an edit option, with the most recent discussion revolving around an “edit window” of about five minutes after posting your original tweet. But no progress has been reported on that front.

If you make a mistake in a tweet, you must delete it and start over.

Instagram

On Instagram, just like on Facebook, you can’t switch a photo or video after you’ve published your post. But if you don’t like your caption, you can change it, and you can also add or change location tags, as well as add or delete account tags on the post. You can also add or edit your alt text tags.

From now on you can only edit your Instagram captions in the app on your mobile device.

How to edit your Instagram posts:

Navigate to your post. Click on the 3 dots at the top right of your post. Click the Edit button. Edit your caption, change your location, add account tags to your photo or video. Click Done in the top right. side

Pinterest

Pinterest doesn’t allow you to share your published Pin photos, videos, or carousels. What you can edit is the board, section, title, description and the link your pin goes to. You can even edit on the go through the Pinterest app.

To edit your Pinterest Pin:

Go to your pin. Click the pencil icon in the top left. Edit the sections you want to change. Click on “Save”.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn gives you the ability to edit updates to both the company page and personal profile — but like other networks, the image or video you use in your post isn’t editable. You can only change the text elements.

To edit your posts on LinkedIn

Find your post Click on the three dots on the top right side of your update. Edit your caption, add or remove hashtags and links

If you published a link post, you must delete the post as simply changing the link in the caption will not update the original.

Hopefully this will help clear up any confusion about editing your already published social media posts. For the most part, the visuals of your posts aren’t interchangeable, but text boxes are.

It is worth familiarizing yourself with each social media network and its capabilities in this regard, so that you know the necessary steps when errors occur. Then you can quickly and easily clean up your mistakes and maintain a more professional feed.

How can you tell if someone saves your Instagram pictures?

What to Know
  1. The only way to see who has saved your post is to ask your followers in an Instagram Story.
  2. To see how many people saved it, go to Settings > Account > Switch to Business Account or Switch to Creator Account > View insights.

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

What You Should Know The only way to see who saved your post is to ask your followers in an Instagram Story.

To see how many people have saved it, go to Settings > Account > Switch to work account or Switch to creator account > View insights.

This article explains how to see who saved your Instagram post and how many times it was saved.

Ask your followers if they saved your Instagram posts

This straightforward process is the only way to see who saved your posts.

Tap the post you want to poll your followers about. Take a screenshot of the Instagram post page. Tap the home icon to return to your main Instagram feed. Tap the Stories icon (which looks like a camera) in the top left to start a new Instagram story. Swipe up to find your Instagram post screenshot. Tap on the screenshot image to add it to your story. Tap the text icon to add a message to your followers — in this case, something like “Who saved this post?”. If you want to interact with your followers, try asking a question with an Instagram questions sticker. Tap Done when you’re done. Make the text smaller by pinching the screen; Spread two fingers apart to enlarge it. Tap on your stories to publish the story to your followers. You can reply via direct message.

See how many times your post has been saved

If you have a personal account, you must first convert it to a free work or maker account by selecting Settings > Account and then Switch to work account or Switch to maker account. Follow the instructions to complete the process. Then:

Tap the profile icon to view your posts. It looks like a silhouette. Tap the post you want to see the save count for. Below the image or video, tap View Insights. A variety of statistics are displayed. The bookmark icon shows the number of times someone has saved this post to one of their collections.

Seeing who saves your posts on Instagram can be more important than tracking the number of likes, because saving a post to an Instagram collection means someone not only likes your content, but wants to share or reference it. However, apart from asking your followers, there is no way to see who saved your Instagram posts or in which collections. The reason for this limitation is probably privacy.

How do you get the blue tick on Instagram 2022?

How to apply for Instagram verification
  1. Step 1: Log in to your account and go to settings. Log into your account, visit your profile page, and open the drop-down menu in the top right corner. …
  2. Step 2: Navigate to Request Verification. Hit Account and then Request Verification.
  3. Step 3: Fill out the application.

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

Wondering how to get verified on Instagram? There’s a lot more to it than just clicking a link. But we’re here to help you along the way.

It’s not easy to get noticed on Instagram. After all, there are more than 1 billion active users on the platform.

There is a good chance there is someone with your exact name (or brand name) on the platform. So how can you stand out from scammers and get noticed?

Getting the coveted blue tick means you’re verified on Instagram. It lets people know that you are legit and that you have value to an audience. But if it were easy, everyone would do it. And it would lose most of its meaning.

Read on to learn more about the exact steps you need to follow to get verified on Instagram.

What does Instagram verification mean?

Adding the blue verification tick badge to your Instagram account means you are considered someone of interest on the social platform.

In Instagram’s own words, verification signals “authenticity and notability.” It also means you’ve cleared something of a high bar. The verified badge means that Instagram considers an account “representative of a well-known, frequently searched person, brand, or entity.”

If you see the blue tick, Instagram wants you to know that you’re following an authentic account. Not a fan account or a fake.

But it’s also important to know that being verified is not the same as being endorsed by Instagram. It also doesn’t mean that your content will show up on the platform more often than posts from unverified accounts.

Why is Instagram verification important?

As mentioned above, the main reason why Instagram verification is important is to differentiate between accounts that Instagram considers valuable to the public and accounts that aren’t.

Essentially, Instagram verification allows users to easily find the accounts they are more likely to search for. Sometimes that means the platform has to act fairly quickly when attempting to review accounts that may have recently gone viral or are a big part of what people in their community are talking about.

Take Indian actor Emraan Hashmi, who saw his song “Lut Gaye” explode earlier this year and who was quick to get his Instagram blue tick.

Who can get verified by Instagram?

Everyone! Roughly.

Technically anyone with:

A public account

A bio

A profile photo

At least one post

… can be verified on Instagram.

There are no cut-and-dry regulations that you have to meet in order to get verified. Facebook states, somewhat puzzlingly, that accounts requesting verification must be authentic, complete, unique, and notable. There is no defined minimum number of followers for which an account must be valid.

But Instagram is looking for people and brands that are in high demand – on social media and in real life.

How to apply for Instagram verification

Would you like to try your luck? Here is an easy-to-follow guide to apply for verification on Instagram.

Step 1: Sign in to your account and go to settings

Log in to your account, visit your profile page and open the drop down menu in the top right corner. From there, navigate to Settings.

Step 2: Navigate to “Request verification”.

Click Account and then click Request Verification.

Step 3: Fill out the application

Finally, all you have to do is fill out the application and send it off.

Note: Lying about personal information or falsifying evidence can result in you losing your badge or even having your account deleted. Be honest.

And never use a third-party service to request verification. In all likelihood this is a scam.

Make sure to also consider these things as you fill out each field:

Full Name: If you’re using your original name for your Instagram account, your full name will do. If it’s a business account, you’ll need the full name of the holder or an employee whose name appears on your official business documents. It must be the full name as it appears on the government issued ID.

Category: Choose the category that makes the most sense for your account. If this is a business account and no other categories fit, select Company/Brand, not Other.

Once you have filled everything out and selected your category, you will need to upload a photocopy of your ID.

Select the file, upload it and your application is ready to be sent. Click the Submit button to complete your application.

All that’s left to do is wait. There is no definitive deadline for when Instagram will definitely reply to you. However, if you are rejected, you cannot reapply for 30 days.

5 tips to get verified on Instagram

Unless you’re George Clooney and suddenly decide to break your social media doldrums, there’s usually a lot of work to do before you can make your way to the blue badge.

That’s why we’ve put together 5 tips to help you increase your chances of getting the verification mark.

Don’t apply until you’re ready

Don’t wait for verification until you have 30 followers and five random posts on your account.

The badge itself does not automatically make you a successful Instagram influencer.

Just because you could technically apply (you only need one job) doesn’t mean you should.

Yes, an Instagram verification badge greatly improves the legitimacy of your profile or brand. They want it as soon as possible.

But before you apply, you should do everything you can to make sure it’s as auditable as possible:

Build your Instagram followers. And what a coincidence, we have 20 tips to help you with that!

And what a coincidence, we have 20 tips to help you with that! Write an engaging Instagram bio. Make sure you represent yourself or your company well. And give people a reason to want to click that “Follow” button.

Make sure you represent yourself or your company well. And give people a reason to want to click that “Follow” button. Use a professional image or an easily recognizable company logo. (It should be easy for potential followers to connect the dots. In the case of Mastercard, literally.)

Build your fan base on other platforms too

If romantic comedy has taught us anything, it’s that romantic interests only care about you when someone else shows interest.

A large following and notoriety on Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, for example, can only reflect well on you if Instagram reviews your case.

Here are some ways you can stand out a little and build a following on these platforms.

Shape your online personality: Some people and brands try to make an impact with a broad approach, hoping to get as many clicks and followers as possible. But it’s a lot easier to connect when you show off your unique self online. Adopt and deliver a consistent voice and some reliable themes.

Some people and brands try to make an impact with a broad approach, hoping to get as many clicks and followers as possible. But it’s a lot easier to connect when you show off your unique self online. Adopt and deliver a consistent voice and some reliable themes. Post early and often: The more active you are, the more likely people are to follow your fun. They might even feel like they’re missing out if they don’t.

The more active you are, the more likely you are to get people to join in the fun. They might even feel like they’re missing out if they don’t. Develop amazing content: It really doesn’t get much easier than that. Just as you would post great pictures on Gram, your other social media profiles should try to cater to the needs and wants of your followers.

Earn media coverage

Barstool Sports has never feared controversy, and her recent ranking of the best female singers of all time was no different.

Power ranking of top 10 female singers of all time pic.twitter.com/tQJOHnhl6I – Barstool Sports (@barstoolsports) November 16, 2021

Well, there are a lot of things to argue about on this list. For example: what makes Barstool Sports an authority on female singers? And, uh, Mariah before Whitney?? JoJo in front of Aretha and Beyonce??

But that’s exactly why it has 19,000 quote tweets on Twitter. And one of the more interesting (and controversial) calls is to number 10.

At this point, Barstool named social media star Addison Rae one of the top 10 singers of all time. They brought her into the same conversation as Beyonce and Whitney Houston. So it’s no surprise that her inclusion on the list attracted a lot of media attention.

Undoubtedly, this kind of slightly controversial revelation introduced many people to Addison Rae who had not heard of her before.

Maximize the potential of your posts

This involves both the actual content of your posts and how the posts are executed.

Hashtags can help

Regarding the latter, we’ve already discussed some basics. But another trick that can help you maximize your posts is using hashtags.

Hashtags can help increase your reach and connect with trends. But it’s important to only use hashtags that are relevant to the niche you’re trying to establish. Here are some of the most popular hashtags that you can use to your advantage.

A smart way to gain traction is to create a hashtag for your personal account or brand and encourage followers to use it.

Here, the Seattle Seahawks football team cheekily uses the hashtag #BlueFriday to promote support for their team.

Timing isn’t everything – but it is important

Another important way to maximize your account is to make sure you post at times that deliver the most eyeballs.

The absolute best time to post on Instagram may surprise you.

You can go one step further and set your own custom best time to post. Hootsuite’s Best Post Time feature analyzes your past performance to show you data on the best times to post on each of your social platforms.

Stay active and take full advantage of Instagram

Finally, you need to stay active and take full advantage of Instagram.

Post new, unique content tailored to Instagram every day.

Use Instagram Stories to connect with your audience. (Brands, on average, have a whopping 85% completion rate on their stories.)

Use the carousel feature, which gets more clicks on average than regular posts. (Here’s Hootsuite’s handy guide to creating great carousel posts.)

Tips to stay verified on Instagram

Nelly Furtado once famously asked why all good things come to an end. In this case, they don’t necessarily have to, but they can.

Verification is not a lifetime appointment, like the Supreme Court. Here are some things to keep in mind if you want to keep that blue tick.

Do not include links to other social media channels in your bio

While building your other social accounts is a good idea, you should never use Instagram to promote them.

Don’t ask your followers on Instagram to follow you elsewhere. Instagram doesn’t look good on “Add Me” links to other profiles. And while it’s not 100% confirmed that a TikTok or Twitter link in your bio will cost you your verification badge, you’re better off using a link tree to promote your presence off Instagram.

Don’t break Instagram’s rules and policies

Be sure to follow Instagram’s terms of service and platform’s community guidelines.

Some of the things that can result in your badge being revoked are transferring or selling your badge, using your bio, profile picture or Instagram name to market or promote other services, and so on.

Conclusions

By building your presence on multiple social media platforms, posting at the best times, and staying active on Instagram, you increase your chances of getting verified.

But at the end of the day, whether you get it or not depends on a Facebook employee’s split-second decision.

If you don’t get it on your first application, focus on building and growing your presence on the platform. You don’t need a blue tick to be successful on Instagram.

Instagram Story tip: How to change your photo date and time stamp so you can use older photos

Like me, you’ve probably tried post-posting a favorite photo to Instagram Story, only to find it was taken well past the 24-hour time limit. Like me, you may have also figured out a trick that allows you to screenshot, edit, and crop the photo you want to take (yes, while in your photo gallery), then share it on Instagram Story.

But that doesn’t always work, and it’s a pain in the butt, too. So I put together this quick tutorial on how to change photo date and timestamp on Mac so you can share your older (or old) photos on Instagram Story.
