I’m saying if you take that old window out you can pry it open and not worry about messing it up. The ones you get from a yard or wherever, all you have to do is grab a few tools and see what you can do. You can also find a yard pulling the window for you. Try a little more cash, but you don’t really have to bother trying to get it out. I have my old window from my truck in my garage. It has been removed from Safelite but doesn’t look that easy.

hey
I came across a sliding rear window and wanted to upgrade from the solid one I have now. It’s at a junkyard and it’ll be cheaper if I remove it myself can someone tell me how to remove it. I will have it professionally installed to prevent leaks. It’s in a gen3 CC
Any help greatly appreciated.

Often you can simply cut the sealing strip around the glass and slide the glass through. It can be a little chewy depending on how much glue is on the glass. Just don’t pry it with something metal etc. It will break for sure!!

But I saw in the previous post that the entire rear interior panels of the truck have to be removed to remove the window. Can anyone elaborate on this.

You remove the panels to install them, but since you got them from a farm dog, just cut the weatherstrip around the window with a razor blade

If you direct your attention to the February 2002 issue of “Truckin'” (well that’s what the cover says is the year and date), page 191. There is an article about removing your rear window. Please keep in mind that the article is about a Cheby and not a Dodge, but it shouldn’t be that much different, right? anyway – good luck

You will need to use a razor to cut the poly glue holding the window from the inside. Get a good sharp blade there and make a longer handle to give you leverage. then cut it. you should be able to push the window out. Have a buddy help you hold the window so you don’t drop it

no you have to replace the whole rear window

All made together, there is no way to take it apart.
