Like iCloud on Apple iPhones, you can store and share music between your devices by storing it in the cloud. If you’re not familiar with this, the basic idea is that you store music on an online server and if you want to access the music, you can do it from any device using your Google account.

YouTube Music appears in our list because you can upload music from your computer to your cloud server and then access the music from your Android device. For this method, you can use YouTube Music in your internet browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.).

Open your internet browser and go to: https://music.youtube.com/ Click on “Sign in” at the top right of the window. Step 1. Sign in or create your account: https://mail.google.com/mail

Send audio messages with your iPhone

When texting from your iPhone, sending an audio message is as easy as a tap of the button. That is, as long as you’re texting someone who also has an iPhone. It’s a bit trickier if your friend has an Android.

First, here’s how to send an audio message from one iPhone to another:

• Open a conversation and tap the record icon to the right of the text field.

• Record your message, making sure to keep your finger down the entire time. When you’re done, release your finger.

If you want to listen to your recording, tap the play button. Press the “X” button to delete your recording. To submit it, just press the up arrow.

Note: Once your message is out, it will disappear in two minutes. If you want to keep the voice message in the conversation, go to your settings.

When you have an Android phone, sending audio messages isn’t quite as easy as simply tapping the button. You have three options.

1. Use Android Messages

Just follow these simple steps to send audio clips through google stock messenger app.

• Under Settings, give Android Messages permission to use your microphone.

• Open up a conversation.

• Click the green + sign to the left of your text box.

• Tap the microphone icon at the bottom of the screen.

3. Use the Google Assistant

This is the easiest method of all. First, say “Hey, Google” or “OK, Google.” Then instruct Google Assistant to send an audio message to the person you want to reach. As soon as you say your contact’s name, the Google Assistant will automatically start recording.

But make sure you’ve thought about it beforehand – the assistant will stop your recording if it notices longer pauses.

Then Google Assistant will ask if you’re ready to send the recording. Say “Yes” when you’re ready, or “No” to cancel. Just like Apple users, you have the option to press play to listen or cancel to start over.

In any case, Instagram’s launch of Instagram Direct, the photo-sharing platform’s direct messaging feature, was an exciting novelty when it launched in 2013.

Instagram has always been a public platform. To interact with other accounts, users had to like or comment on their posts. When Instagram Direct launched, users who followed each other could send private, one-to-one messages for the first time.

In this guide, we’ll cover the launch of Instagram Direct, what it is, and why it was such a big deal. Also, we will guide you step-by-step on how to send different types of direct messages including chat-like text messages, videos, disappearing images, and more!

First things first – what is Instagram Direct? Or in this case an Instagram DM (direct message).

What is a DM on Instagram?

First things first – let’s define DM. In this case, DM stands for Direct Message – or a message sent privately to one (or a few) people.

Now that we have the DM definition, we can dive a little deeper into messaging on Instagram and why the feature was introduced.

Instagram Direct is Instagram’s private messaging feature. Kevin Systrom, founder of Instagram, announced this at a press event in New York on December 12, 2013. This was an exciting moment for the photo-sharing platform as it was the first to explore one-to-one messaging on another public platform.

The above video accompanied Systrom’s announcement and briefly touched on the main features of the new feature.

Interestingly, this announcement came shortly after Instagram was acquired by Facebook, a platform that launched its private messenger back in 2008.

In 2013 personal social media messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger continued to dominate (the latter already boasting almost 200 million monthly active users). More importantly, Snapchat, the multimedia messaging app, quickly rose to prominence. Introducing a direct messaging feature was a smart (and maybe even essential) move by Instagram.

Through Instagram Direct, users can send photos or videos they take (or upload from their phone’s photo library), posts they’ve seen in the feed, disappearing photos and videos (think Snapchat), other users’ Instagram stories, Hashtags and location pages.

Instagram also recently added a green dot next to an Instagram user’s profile picture to show when they’re logged into Instagram and available to chat.

An Instagram DM can be sent to one person or up to 32 people in a group chat! (If you want to share private Instagram stories with more than 32 people, you should create a close Instagram friends list.)

As of 2018, users can use Instagram Direct Messaging for video chats with just one person or a group of up to four different people. This new feature works similar to FaceTime or Google Hangout, allowing users to video chat with anyone they have opened a direct message thread with.

Today, Instagram Direct has emerged as a valuable form of Instagram marketing. Organizations with an Instagram business profile can use the tool to provide social media customer service and users can use the tool to connect with their favorite brands.

Of course, it would be unfair to introduce you to all these exciting features without telling you how to use them! This step-by-step guide will give you all the information you need to start chatting with your friends and followers via Instagram DM.

How to create DM on Instagram

As mentioned above, there are many ways to broadcast on Instagram DM. However, there are definitely two methods that you are more likely to use than others. In this guide we give you step-by-step instructions on the following topics:

How to send a picture, video or chat in a direct message

Have you ever taken a picture and immediately thought of a friend who just had to see it? Or maybe you bumped into an old college friend while running errands and want to reach them, but forgot to exchange phone numbers.

Whatever your argument, sending a chat, picture, or video via Instagram DM can be a great way to reach people!

Luckily, this is an easy process that consists of just a few steps.

1. Open Instagram and log into your account

That first step is easy — and if you’re anything like me, something you already do every day. Grab your phone, open your Instagram app and log into your account. As a heads up, our instructions and screenshots are for sending an Instagram DM from an iPhone. However, the process should look similar (if not identical) on Android devices.

2. Tap the paper airplane button in the top right corner or swipe left from anywhere in the feed

Tapping the paper airplane button or swiping left will take you to the screen where you send your DM. If you already have conversations (or if you’ve been DMed before), they’ll appear on this screen.

3. Tap the plus sign in the top right corner

To send a new message, tap the plus sign in the top right corner. This will take you to the screen where you select the person (or people) you want to send the message to.

4. Select your recipient(s).

Instagram will display a list of suggested accounts that you may want to send your Direct Message to. If you don’t see your intended recipient, use the search bar at the top of the screen to find them by searching for either their username or their full name. When you have selected your recipient, click on “Next” in the upper right corner.

5. To send a written message:

To send a chat, enter your message and click send.

To capture a picture or video to send:

To take a new picture or video to send, tap the camera button to the left of the chat box. If you’ve posted an Instagram story before, this screen should look familiar! You can snap a photo or video as usual, or use some of Instagram’s fun features like boomerangs, filters, and more.

Once you’ve captured your picture, you have a few options for how it will appear to your recipient. At this point you can choose between:

Make the photo or video appear or play once and then disappear (like the first version of Snapchat)

Allow the photo or video to appear or play once, but then allow your recipient to repeat (like Snapchat’s current functionality).

Choose how you want your image or video to appear and click submit!

To send a picture or video from your photo library, tap the button to the right of your chat box. This button looks like a landscape scene. This will bring up your phone’s camera roll, from which you can select a photo or video. Once you’ve selected your image, click Submit. Remember that for the best possible quality, the image or video should conform to the standard Instagram story dimensions.

There you have it! From there, you can continue chatting back and forth or send additional content.

How to send a post from your Instagram feed in a direct message

Now that Instagram is littered with meme accounts (I’m not complaining), it’s pretty common that you see something in your feed that makes you laugh. And what could be nicer than laughing alone? Laugh with friends, of course!

Luckily, Instagram makes it easy to send posts to your friends and followers straight from the feed. The original poster will not know that you sent their Instagram post, nor will the messages appear in the Instagram feed, in search, or on your profile.

However, remember that if the original author has a private Instagram profile, your recipient will not be able to see the post unless they follow the account that posted it. If the original poster has a public Instagram profile, you’re good to go!

Here’s how to send a post directly from your Instagram feed. We’re skipping the steps that involve opening Instagram and logging in – if you’ve found something you want to share, we’re assuming you’ve already done so!

1. Tap the paper airplane button below the picture you want to share

If you tap the paper airplane image below the image you want to share, Instagram will bring up a list of your existing conversations. If you don’t see your intended recipients, simply use the search bar to find their account and select their Instagram handle from the list.

2. Add an optional message or send without one

After choosing your recipient, you can enter a message that will be sent along with the post. Consider adding a message that provides more context to the image or explains why the post reminded you of that specific person. Instagram DMs are a great way to connect with friends and family, so take the opportunity to add a personalized message!

Note: If your recipient can’t see the post, they don’t need to follow the account! Just take a screenshot on your Android or iPhone and send the screenshot via DM with the first guide.

If you have Adobe Acrobat software on your desktop, you’re in luck. Acrobat is basically the king of all things PDF and can help you with that. Use the software to export or convert PDF to various file formats including image formats. Follow these steps:

Open the PDF file in Acrobat. Click Tools and then click Export PDF. Select “Image” and then your desired file format (a JPEG or PNG format should work fine). Click the gear icon to change the conversion settings, such as B. the resolution to configure for your selected file format. Check the “Export all images” box. You can choose to extract and save only the images from the PDF file. If you don’t do this, each page from the PDF will be exported as the file type of your choice. First we need to identify the saved song or audio that you want to use in your story. If you haven’t saved the audio or song on Instagram, you can search for the song, select it from your search results, and tap Save Audio at the top.

If you want to save audio from a reel, open the reel in question, tap the audio thumbnail in the lower-right corner, and tap Save Audio at the top. Once you’ve saved the audio, you can use the guide below to add it to your stories.

Note: You can only add saved “songs” to your stories natively in Instagram. You cannot add custom audio or native audio used by users on Instagram in Reels, even though the same has been saved by you. If you want to use custom audio, you can download the reel, extract the audio, and then upload it to your story using the instructions below.

Step 1 Identify the saved song

Open Instagram and tap on your profile icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Now tap on the menu icon in the top right corner.

Select “Saved”. i.e

Tap on “Audio”.

Now find the song you want to add to your story and write down its name if necessary.

Use the guide below to add it to your story.

Step 2: Add the song to your story

Open Instagram and swipe right on your home feed to access the camera. Make sure “Story” is selected below and record the video you want to share.

After recording, tap the “Sticker” icon at the top.

Now search for “music” and tap on the sticker once it appears in your search results.

Tap the search bar at the top and type in the song name you wrote down earlier. Tap the song once it appears in your search results.

Tap the timeline at the bottom and drag left or right to adjust which part of the audio is added to your video.

Tap and select the font you want from the list below as well.

Tap the color icon at the top to change the color of the texts that appear on your screen.

Tap “Done” in the top left corner when done.

And that’s it! The selected song will now be added to your story. You can now continue editing the story and post to your account as usual.

Method #02: Use saved audio from your local storage

If you want to use audio from your local storage in your Instagram story, you must first record the story and save it to your local storage. You can then use a video editor to add audio and then repost it to Instagram. Follow the steps below to assist you with this process.

Open Instagram and swipe right on the home feed to access the camera. Make sure “Story” is selected below, then record the desired video that you want to publish.

After recording, tap the “Audio” icon at the top to mute the recorded audio of the video.

Tap the three dots menu icon in the top right.

Select “Save”.

The video will now be saved to your local storage.

We can now add the audio we want using a video editor. We will use CapCut for this guide, but you can use any other video editor depending on your preferences. Download and launch CapCut from the link below.

Tap on “New Project”.

Now tap and select the video saved by Instagram in your local storage.

Tap “Add” at the bottom to add it to your new project.

Tap Add Audio.

Now tap on “Tones”.

Tap the “Folders” icon at the top of your screen.

Tap and choose From Device.

Now select the audio you want to add to your story and tap “+” next to it.

Once the audio has been added, tap and select the same on your timeline.

Drag the rightmost end of the audio to fit the length of your video.

When you’re done, tap the drop-down menu in the top-right corner of your screen.

Now select your video quality and frame rate. We recommend using 720p and 30 fps for Instagram, but you can choose your own settings.

Once done, tap on the “Export” icon again on the top right corner as shown below.

The project is now exported as a single video and you should be able to find the same in the following location on your Android device. After exporting, tap Done.

DCIM/Camera

After exporting, open Instagram and swipe right to access the camera. Make sure “Story” is selected at the bottom, then tap on the “Gallery” icon in the lower-left corner of your screen.

Now select the video you created in your video editor.

Tap Next.

Tap and choose Disconnect.

The video will now be added to your story. Continue editing and posting your story on Instagram as usual.

And that’s it! You have now added custom audio from your local storage to a story on Instagram.

Sync music to YouTube Music

Like iCloud on Apple iPhones, you can store and share music between your devices by storing it in the cloud. If you’re not familiar with this, the basic idea is that you store music on an online server and if you want to access the music, you can do it from any device using your Google account.

YouTube Music appears in our list because you can upload music from your computer to your cloud server and then access the music from your Android device. For this method, you can use YouTube Music in your internet browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.).

Let’s see how to upload music to YouTube Music…

Open your internet browser and go to: https://music.youtube.com/ Click on “Sign in” at the top right of the window. Enter your Google account details to sign in to YouTube Music (you can create an account here if you don’t already have one). Click on your account profile icon in the top right corner of the screen to access the menu. Select “Upload Music”. Select the music from your computer and drag and drop it into the upload window.
