Method 1: Roll the poster back onto itself
Pull the cap off the top of the tube. Remove your poster from the tube by tilting it until it partially slides out. Do not try to squeeze or pull it out from inside the tube as this may cause folds and creases. On a clean, flat surface, straighten the poster so the design is facing down. Carefully roll the poster around the outside of the tube, in the opposite direction it was previously rolled. Secure with a sticker or rubber bands. Leave it for an hour. Remove stickers or rubber bands and unroll to reveal a flat poster for framing

What is an A-frame sign? A Frame signs are foldable signs typically used for sidewalk advertising by retail stores and other businesses that rely on foot traffic. One or both sides of the “A-Frame” may have a graphic or advertisement. The signs can be used indoors and outdoors. When used for the latter, the frame itself can be filled with sand or water to provide additional weight for stability.
Are “A-frame signs”, “sandwich signs” and “sandwich board signs” the same? A-frame signs, sandwich signs or sandwich board signs are basically the same thing. All three terms can be used synonymously. These terms refer to a collapsible sign most commonly used on sidewalks outside of retail stores. While the terms are interchangeable, the frames on these signs can be made out of plastic (like ours), wood, or even metal. In addition, graphics/signs can be attached with Velcro or glue, or very rarely slipped into the frame itself. Our signs, whether referred to as A-Frame or Sandwichboard, are plastic and the graphic is either a self-adhesive sticker or a replaceable corrugated plastic graphic, held in place by tabs, depending on your choice.
Is it really durable for outdoor use? Is it stable? Yes! Our A-Frame signs can be used outdoors all year round. The frame itself is made of durable plastic that is 1.5 inches thick on each side for a total of 3 inches thick. In addition, the frame can be filled with sand or water to give the sign stability. Each side of the frame can hold an additional 5 lbs. of sand or water. We do not recommend using water in freezing temperatures to avoid expansion and cracking of the shield. Last but not least, the self-adhesive graphic option is covered with laminate to ensure durability, while the ridged plastic graphic is also covered with a laminate and can be easily removed and swapped out for a different graphic if required. We do not recommend using the sign during heavy rainfall or severe weather.
Is the actual frame/sandwich board too heavy to move easily? With no water or sand in the frame, it weighs just 18 pounds. This weight makes for a durable sign, but is also light enough to be easily repositioned and/or stored when needed.
Are your sandwich signs single sided or double sided? All of our sandwich board signs are double sided. If you’d like the same graphic on both sides, simply add a design and checkout and we’ll automatically place the graphic on both sides of the A-frame. If you would like a different graphic on one side, simply select the Two Sides Different option and then click the Back Side button in the design tool and style it however you like. We then make sure that each page shows your respective designs.
How are my graphics attached to the A-Frame sign? We offer two different graphics options for your custom A-Frame signs. If you choose the standard frame, your graphics will be made of 4mm corrugated plastic that attaches to the frame with Velcro strips. This allows you to remove and replace the graphics on your A-Frame as needed. If you choose one of our premium frames these will come with 4mm corrugated plastic ‘inserts’ that slide into the notched area of the A-frame. Tabs on either side of this area slide over the top of your graphics to hold them firmly in place. The obvious benefit of using this type of A-Frame sign is the ability to swap out graphics on a regular basis as sales, seasons or marketing messages change.
Is there something above the graphic to protect it? Yes. The optional decal graphic(s) will be covered with a matte overlaminate to protect against the elements and accidental scratching, rubbing, etc. when used outdoors. The detachable corrugated plastic graphics option can be easily removed and swapped out if needed. It’s also covered with a very thin laminate to protect it. Nonetheless, these signs are intended to be used in all outdoor situations other than severe weather of any kind.
How big is the drawing area? Can you change that? The actual shield area for your custom graphic is 24 inches wide and 36 inches high. This area and the sandwich board sign itself (25″ wide x 45″ high) are not customizable.
Do you offer different sizes for your sandwich signs? We currently only offer the standard 25″x45″ sandwich board sign.
Can my graphic be smaller than the actual drawing area? Can they be cut to shape and then attached? The graphic area for both types of A-frame signs is always 24 inches wide and 36 inches high. With the standard white A-frame sign, the parts of your design that you leave white will end up blending into the frame fairly well. Therefore, within this 24″ x 36″ area, you can shape your design into any shape you want, and it will appear to be a smaller graphic or cut to shape. The best looking sign will still be one that uses a full 24″ x 36″ graphic. Please note that this is not possible with the Premium A-Frame signs. The corrugated plastic graphic must be exactly 24″x36″ in order for the graphic to work properly with the frames.
Do you offer A-frame/sandwich board signs with chalk or dry erase signs? no We currently do not offer chalk or dry erase based options for your custom A-frame sign. If you are interested in these products, please contact us so that we can offer them in the future!
Do you offer metal A-frame signs or other A-frame signs? We currently only offer the heavy duty plastic A-frame sign shown on this page. We’ve found this to be the best all-around A-Frame sign due to its durability, ease of use, and ability to be a double-sided sign with large graphics. Many of the alternatives are disappointing in terms of performance (cheap/thin metal or wood frames) or awkward to use. We hope to offer similarly durable chalkboard and dry-erase A-frame signs in the future.
Do you offer black or other colored options for your sandwich board signs? Currently we only offer the white plastic sandwich board signs for the laminated adhesive graphic. These are referred to as our “standard” A-frame signs. The corrugated plastic graphic A-frame sign can be either a white or black plastic frame. These are referred to as our “premium” A-frame signs. However, both signs allow you to fully customize the color of your image and the message for your sign on the graphics themselves.
What is the lifespan of your sandwich signs? Our sandwich board signs should last at least 5+ years whether used outside or inside as long as they are properly cared for. In many cases, this lifespan is significantly longer, but depends heavily on constant usage conditions and care of the frame/graphics.
Does the A-frame shield have wheels on the bottom? no As shown on this page, there are no wheels on the bottom. It has a molded handle at the top of the frame for easy carrying and positioning. We’ve found that an A-frame without wheels tends to remain stable while still allowing for easy storage and movement with the handle.
What if my A-Frame sign graphics have more than 2 colors? Will it cost more? no We print all of our signs in full color. No matter how many colors your signs may have, your costs will not increase. Your cost will be determined by the quantity you order, the shipping options you choose, and any applicable taxes.
Do I need to use one of your templates for my custom signs? no We have a wide variety of templates for you to use or start your design with. Alternatively, you can contact us to take advantage of free design services from one of our professional designers, or upload your file(s) to our design tool to create your custom A-frame signs.
Do you offer alternative sandwich panel signs with rotating or swinging sign faces? no At the moment we only offer the sandwich panels as described on this page. Each side has a recessed sign graphic area for your sign to show either the self-adhesive decal or the corrugated plastic insert. The double-sided functionality balances the need for a rotating or oscillating aspect of the shield. Through years of experience, feedback from our customers and our own use, the sign we offer has proven to be far more durable and just as effective.
What about sandwich panel signs with interchangeable letters? We currently do not offer interchangeable letter plates, sandwich board or otherwise. We recommend a chalkboard or dry erase alternative if the message needs to change frequently.
Does the sign require assembly? no With both options, the sign comes ready to use, with your graphics already installed in the sign. Just unfold the sign, decide if you need to weigh it down with sand or water, then set it up and forget it.

Standard sandwich board signs
Our normal sandwich sign is made of white plastic. If you choose this type, the image will be printed on vinyl material, which will be glued to the frame after printing. You can change the design at any time by peeling off the vinyl surface and replacing it with the new one. The sandwich board sign measures 25″x45″ overall. However, the graphics displayed on it are 24″ x 36″. This option weighs 18.5 lbs. These frames have empty pillars inside them that can be filled with sand to make them more stable. This adds about 10 pounds to the overall weight. The frame has locking hinges to prevent the product from opening wider than intended.
Quick Change Sandwich Board Signs
We have quick change sandwich sign stands in two colors: white and black. The motifs are printed on a corrugated plastic material and inserted into the frames. The latter have so-called “stay tabs” that prevent the rigid material from falling off. As the name suggests, this option lets you swap displays in seconds by pulling out the old ones and sliding in new graphics. Quick change sandwich panels measure 27″ x 48.375″. I’m curious how this will be resolved because I made myself three pavement signs when I first opened my shop and before long all my hard work (hand lettering and sealing these things, it took hours and hours…) was over for nothing, as all 3 were blown over and hit and crushed by cars.
