We all know that toddlers will put almost anything in their mouths that they can get their hands on. This is why it is so important to ensure that children never get their hands on a liquid detergent capsule. Not while the product is in storage. Not even while you’re doing the laundry. Always keep caps away from children.
To wash clothes, only use liquid washing capsules and carefully follow the instructions on the packaging. They must never be used for any other purpose and must always be kept out of the reach and sight of children.

A.I.S.E has launched a new iteration of its pan-European safety campaign, Keep Caps From Kids, which has been active since 2014. The campaign aims to prevent abuse of liquid detergent capsules by informing parents and those caring for young children. The campaign website www.keepcapsfromkids.eu, which includes a video, infographics, article and photo gallery, offers advice on how to prevent children from being hurt, use capsules safely and keep them out of the reach of children in 26 languages.
“The safety of our consumers is of paramount importance to our industry. Unfortunately, despite specific educational efforts by the industry, incidents happen again and again. A major obstacle to the widespread adoption of secure usage practices is that parents still underestimate the consequences of insecure storage. The new website should therefore point out the possible consequences of misuse more explicitly and provide storage tips for households,” says Susanne Zänker, Director General of A.I.S.E.
The campaign, initiated by the detergent industry, is supported by institutional partners across Europe, including the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) and the European Child Safety Alliance. New partners are welcome to join the campaign – participation as a campaign partner is free and allows free use of all elements of the communication toolkit.
