How to figure out a code to a key safe/pad entry lock?

Hello everyone,

Appreciate this may sound dodgy but it’s not lol.

I bought my first house a few months ago, previously owned by an old man who died about 8 months ago, and the house itself was owned by an investment company.

Anyway it has one of those Burton keyguard things by the front door which I would love to use as I know the day I forget my key there will be one! Of course…it’s currently blocked, and I have no way of finding out the combination (unless he’s an old man, can you suggest someone he may have told who could tell me – medical delivery company or even supervisor?! :S). Now I know this seems far fetched, but having recently found the user guide online I now know that you can enter a passcode between 3 and 8 characters BUT (the saving grace here) each character can only be used once. Ie the pad has the numbers 0-9 and an A & B button – each of these buttons can only be used once and the order does not matter.

Now I know there will still be a variety of combinations, but since they don’t have to be entered in order and no number can be repeated, I would hope that the probable number of codes would be a bit more manageable (yes I am willing to spend 15 minutes per input). night no matter how long it takes to crack this thing instead of buying a new one lol).

So I’m just wondering if by any chance someone has the sanity to figure out the list of possible combinations available in this range??! Or if for some reason there is some kind of online calculator that would do the math for me? I literally just want a list of all the options to work my way through. I expect the code to be no more than 5 characters initially, so I hope this makes it more manageable…

any thoughts??

Many Thanks

Grangey

How To Open A Key Safe Without Code

There’s nothing worse than knowing you need to get into your safe but can’t! This happens for a number of reasons. You may have lost the key, forgotten the code or some other problem. The crucial detail is that you can’t get in there – and that can be incredibly frustrating. “I lost the key to my safe, how do I open it?” we hear again and again. And well, we’ve got good news: it’s almost always possible to get into a safe, even if you’ve lost the primary access tool.

How to open a key safe without a code

If you can’t remember the code to your safe, it’s normal to panic. A key you might find later, but a code? It’s probably gone forever. You can manipulate the safe by listening for the clicks associated with the correct numbers. It will take a little getting used to the sound, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to figure out the correct numbers. You can also try prying open the door, but that will likely break the safe forever.

No key? No problem. Well, not a big problem anyway. Your first port of call should be to contact the manufacturer. You may be able to provide a different key. If you can’t reach them, speak to someone with a similar vault. We think vault keys are unique, but that’s not true – they use the same keys on similar vaults. They can also pick locks, a skill anyone can learn with a bit of patience. If you need to know how to open a Yale safe without a key then things are a bit more complicated since it is a high quality brand. You can try the old “fall from a height and hope it pops” technique. It’s quite effective, although it’s likely that the safe will be useless afterwards.

How to open a safe without a key and combination

There are some safes with multi-level security measures. These can be particularly difficult, requiring a high level of expertise and time to crack. Luckily, there are some direct methods that work pretty well. For example, you might consider pulling out a drill and heading into town with the safe. This approach is also recommended for people who are wondering how to open an old safe without a key. Other cutting tools may also come in handy.

If you need to know how to unlock a vault without a key, just remember that it’s always possible to access your content. It’s just that some methods require a bit more technical skill – or at least knowledge of using high-powered tools – than others. But if you’re determined enough to climb into your old vault, you’ll find that there’s always something you can do.
