That’s why we’re going to show you how to access Android’s secret menu. Here are the steps to unlock.

Unlock System UI Tuner

To enable this feature, swipe down from the status bar to access your quick settings panel, then press and hold the settings gear icon in the top-right corner. If done correctly, your Android phone will vibrate and a message will appear that you have successfully added the System UI Tuner to your settings.

Here you can make nifty changes to the user interface, e.g. For example, you can choose which icons are displayed in the status bar or display the battery status while charging. You can also set your watch to display hours and minutes and seconds if you wish.

You can show the Do Not Disturb switch with the volume bar or disable the volume shortcut for it.

Another useful toggle is the power notification control. This allows you to set different notification levels for each app, ranging from level 0 (block all notifications) to level 5 (most important).

How to disable the system UI tuner

Note that these system UI tweaks are experimental. As the System UI Tuner warning states:

“System Tuner gives you additional ways to tweak and customize the Android UI. These experimental features may change, break, or disappear in future releases. Proceed with caution.”

To remove the System UI tuner and any changes you’ve made, swipe down from the status bar again to access quick settings, then press and hold the settings gear icon again until your phone vibrates.

A prompt will then appear asking if you want to “Remove System UI Tuner from Settings and stop using all of its features?” Select “Remove” to delete it.

Alternatively, you can just go to the System UI Tuner menu, tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner, and then select Remove from Settings.

There are some iPhone features hidden in apps, widgets and the control center. There are a number of secret things you can do with the dialer that most iPhone users might not know about. Mobile devices have long used USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) codes. They look like a series of numbers with asterisks and hashtags that need to be entered like a phone number.

This service works on both older phones like the iPhone SE and newer models like the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro. It can connect any GSM phone directly to your service provider’s computers and give you access to “secret” features on your phone. Some features are specific to certain carriers, but most work independently of the telco.

Let’s examine some useful and interesting secret dialer codes. To use them, open the Phone app and tap on the keyboard:

Find IMEI

To find your iPhone IMEI number, type *#06#, the information will be displayed automatically. All cell phones have an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number that is unique to each device. This number may be requested when attempting to unlock your iPhone for use on a different network. This number can also be useful if your iPhone is lost or stolen so that the handset can be identified.

Hide Caller ID

You can hide your caller ID by using a USSD code before dialing the phone number you want to call. First enter #31# (if you are in the US dial *67) and then enter the person’s number including the area code. Tap the green button to make the call.

Divert incoming calls

Incoming calls can be diverted to another number, e.g. B. a landline number or another mobile number when you are busy on another call. This can also come in handy when your iPhone is unreachable or you can have them redirected when you don’t want to answer or respond.

To transfer calls if you don’t answer dial *61*, to transfer calls if your iPhone is unreachable dial *62* and to transfer calls if your iPhone is busy dial *67*. Enter the number you want to divert to, then tap #. Then tap the dial button and you should get a confirmation. If that doesn’t work, search your network for alternative codes. To disable these services, enter #61#, #62#, or #67# depending on the original code and tap the dial button again. If you want to know the current status of any of these services, dial *#61#, *#62# or *#67#.

Activate call waiting

Call waiting gives you the opportunity to answer a new call if someone tries to get through while you are already on the call. Enter *43# and tap the dial button. Then tap Discard when the confirmation screen appears. To end call waiting, dial #43#.

Prevent outgoing calls

If you give someone your iPhone, you might want to prevent them from using the device to make calls. To do this, dial *33* and then enter a PIN followed by # – this prevents anyone else from turning the feature off. Tap the “Choose” button and tap “Close” when you get the confirmation. To deactivate the code lock, dial #33*your PIN#.

Start field test mode

If you want to access technical information about your iPhone’s cellular signal and connection, you can use the hidden field test mode. Primarily designed for technicians and engineers, it allows you to check your network. However, one of its main uses has been dropped in iOS 15 – the ability to display the strength of your signal as a numerical value. It includes details about local area networks and cell towers in the area, and Apple has been busy improving its appearance for the past few years.

First, swipe down from the right side of the iPhone screen to show Control Center and turn off Wi-Fi. Then launch the phone app and dial 3001#12345#. You will be taken to the field test screen, which is split into two tabs: Dashboard and All Metrics. Most of the information contained in these screens is probably not of interest. However, if you’re using iOS 13 or iOS 14, you should tap All Metrics and after scrolling down, tap Serving Cell Meas – that’s under the LTE heading. Look for rsrp0 and rspr1 (indicate the towers closest to you). Displays cellular signal strength in decibel milliwatts. To indicate a strong signal, the number must be around the -40 mark. When the number reaches -100, you are in an area with a very poor signal.

Note that some of these codes are specific to certain regions/countries, so not all of them may work for you.
