1 INTRODUCTION

This OLG.ca Player Agreement – OLG.ca Terms of Use sets out the terms governing use of OLG.ca’s online gaming platform. By checking the “Accept” box, an intended player, prospective player or a player confirms that they understand and agree to the terms of this Agreement. 2 DEFINITIONS

The following terms have their respective meanings given below, and grammatical variations of these terms have corresponding meanings:

“AGCO” means the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and its successor in title;

“AGCO Standards” means the Registrar’s Standards for Gaming and the Registrar’s Standards for Gaming: Lottery Sector as prepared and issued by AGCO’s Registrar, as amended or replaced from time to time;

“AGCO iGaming Standards” means the Internet Gaming Registrar’s standards;

“Agreement” means this Player Agreement – ​​OLG.ca Terms of Service, as amended or superseded by OLG from time to time;

“Bonus Funds” means a nominal amount of Canadian Dollars loaded into a Player’s Account by OLG. Subject to the applicable Bonus Funds Terms, Bonus Funds may be used by a Player to play pay-to-play games or draw-based lottery games played online, or both, at no cost to the Player;

“Bonus Funds Terms” has the meaning set out in Section 8.1. Subject to Section 3 of this Agreement, the Bonus Funds Terms are incorporated into and form a part of this Agreement;

“Pause” has the meaning set out in the Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion Policy;

“Business Day” means any day other than a Saturday, a Sunday, an Ontario public holiday or a day on which banks in Toronto, Ontario are not open for business;

“Charge” has the meaning set out in Section 6.4;

“Closed Account” means a Player Account as described in Section 11.1;

“Closing” or “Closure” means the action of a Player who closes their Player Account as described in Section 11.1;

“Deactivate” or “Deactivation” means that a Player Account has been placed on a deactivated Account as described in Section 12.2;

“Disabled Account” has the meaning set out in Section 12.2;

“Direct Payment” means the online payment for the purchase of lottery games played online on a draw basis (subject to system availability) made through the Player’s eligible payment card without the need to fund the Player’s Account and not through the use of Unused Funds and /or bonus funds.

“Inactive Account” means a Player Account as described in Section 10.2 but does not include the Player Account of a Self-Excluded Person;

“Downtime” has the meaning set out in Section 15.2;

“Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online” means any game made available through OLG.ca from time to time that: (i) constitutes a “lottery program” within the meaning of the Criminal Code (Canada), (ii) requires players to have a number of numbers or other game elements (whether selected by the player and/or randomly generated), and (iii) the outcome or outcome of which is determined by a drawing, but does not include pay-to-play play or any free play.

“Error” has the meaning set out in Section 15.1;

“Error Fund” has the meaning set out in Section 15.1;

“Event” has the meaning set out in the applicable Pay-to-Play Game Rules;

“Excluded Person” means an individual who is prohibited from registering an account with OLG.ca or, if the individual already has a Player Account, maintaining that Player Account in an activated state, including:

an individual who does not meet all of the eligibility criteria described in Section 4.1 of this Agreement; a person disfellowshipped from OLG.ca by virtue of a court order or any applicable law or regulation or rule or policy made thereunder, including the AGCO Standards; a person prohibited from accessing any gambling site or participating in any lottery program pursuant to Standard 3.01 or Standard 3.01.1 of the AGCO iGaming Standards or any other relevant provision of the AGCO iGaming Standards or AGCO Standards from time to time; a person who has registered for self-exclusion from a Casino (as defined in the AGCO Standards) for the duration of the self-exclusion (see the Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion Policy for more information); a self-excluded person; a person who is an employee of OLG or who is prohibited by contract or other agreement with OLG from registering an account with OLG.ca; and a person who is an employee of an “iGaming Provider” or “an iGaming Company” (as such terms are defined in the Higher Regional Court Rules for iGaming Lottery Games, as amended or replaced from time to time).

“FINTRAC” means the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Center of Canada and its successor in title;

“Future Game Transaction” has the meaning set out in Section 5.2;

“Games” means, collectively, draw-based lottery games, pay-to-play games and play-for-free games played online;

“iGaming System” means the system used by OLG to register and manage Player Accounts, facilitate Player play of Games and pay for them;

“Inactive Account” means a Player Account as described in Section 10.1 but does not include the Player Account of a Self-Excluded Person;

“Intended Player” means a person described in Section 4.1;

“Lottery Game Rules” means all terms, conditions, statements, rules and procedures, including prize structure, issued from time to time (in addition to this Agreement) by OLG or the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation and applicable to a draw-based lottery game played online and which are OLG are referred to as lottery rules. Subject to Section 3, the Lottery Game Rules are incorporated into and form a part of this Agreement;

“Mobile Applications” means any application developed by or on behalf of OLG that prospective players and players may install on their mobile devices such as mobile phones or tablets and through which Eligible Players are made available from time to time selected games;

“Multi-Factor Authentication” has the meaning given in Section 4.4.

“Time-Based One-Time Password” has the meaning set out in Section 4.4.

“OLG” means the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and its successor in title;

“OLG.ca” means OLG’s websites and mobile applications through which select games are made available to Eligible Players from time to time;

“OLG Internet Gaming Privacy and Cookie Policy” means OLG.ca’s Cookie and Privacy Policy, as may be amended or replaced from time to time by OLG. Subject to Section 3, the OLG Internet Gaming Privacy and Cookie Policy is incorporated into and constitutes a part of this Agreement;

“OLG Property Rights” has the meaning set out in Clause 14.3;

“Pay-to-Play Game” means any game or product made available through OLG.ca from time to time that: (i) constitutes a “lottery program” within the meaning of the Criminal Code (Canada), (ii) requires it the player to place a bet or wager as a condition of participating in the game, and (iii) offers the player a chance to win a prize, but does not include a draw-based lottery game played online or a free-to-play game. Examples of pay-to-play games include sports betting games played online and casino games such as roulette and slot machines;

“Pay-to-Play Game Rules” means the terms, explanations, rules and procedures (e.g. how a prize is won, the value and odds of winning prizes for a single pay-to-play game, the prize tiers within of a Pay-to-Play Game) issued by OLG from time to time (in addition to this Agreement) applicable to a specific Pay-to-Play Game and issued by OLG as Pay-to-Play Game Rules be designated. Subject to Section 3, the Pay-to-Play Game Rules are incorporated into and form a part of this Agreement;

“Player” means a person (certainly other than a person who is or becomes an Excluded Person) who has successfully registered a Player Account that has not been suspended, deactivated or closed;

“Player Account” means a Player’s account maintained in the iGaming System with notional Canadian Dollar funds, and includes Player’s registration information, history of deposit and withdrawal transactions, and game information accessed by the Player through OLG can. ca from time to time;

“Player Contact Information” means a Player’s contact information associated with a Player Account and stored on the iGaming System at the relevant time, including, for example, the Player’s name, email address, mailing address and telephone number;

“Player Initiated Transaction” has the meaning set out in Section 10.1;

“Play-for-Free Game” means any of the free games made available through OLG.ca from time to time that contain some of the features of a “lottery program” within the meaning of the Criminal Code (Canada) but do not offer a chance for one Win a prize or require payment to play;

“Player Support” means OLG.ca’s customer service who may be contacted in accordance with Section 18.1;

“Prize” means a prize won by a Player in a Game pursuant to applicable Lottery Game Rules or Pay-to-Play Game Rules;

“Prospective Player” means any person who visits OLG.ca but is not a Player;

“Responsible Gaming Policy and Self-Exclusion” means OLG’s Responsible Gaming Policy relating specifically to OLG.ca, as amended or replaced by OLG from time to time. Subject to Section 3, the Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion Policy is incorporated into and constitutes a part of this Agreement;

“Self-Excluded Person” has the meaning set out in the Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion Policy;

“Self-Exclusion” has the meaning set out in the Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion Policy;

“Sports Betting Games Played Online” means pay-to-play games made available through OLG’s online sports betting platform.

“Suspended Account” has the meaning set out in Section 12.1;

“Blocking” or “Suspension” means that a Player Account has been placed on a suspended account as described in Section 12.1;

“Unused Funds” means all notional funds equivalent to Canadian dollars credited to a Player’s Account, including prizes, but excluding bonus funds, that have not been used by the Player; and

“Username and Password” means a unique combination of identifiers created by and used by a Player to identify themselves to the iGaming System each time the Player seeks to access their Player Account.

3 ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS THAT ARE PART OF THIS AGREEMENT

This Agreement incorporates by reference the terms, conditions, policies, statements and statements of other documents, including:

the applicable Lottery Game Rules and Pay-to-Play Game Rules; the Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion Policy; the applicable bonus funds terms and conditions; OLG Internet Gaming Privacy and Cookie Policy; any applicable website user agreement; and any applicable Mobile Application User Agreement.

In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between any provision of this Agreement and any such other terms, conditions, policies, statements and statements, the order of precedence in descending order of clauses i. to vi. above, except that this Agreement, any applicable Website User Agreement and any applicable Mobile Application User Agreement supersede the applicable Lottery Game Rules and Pay-to-Play Game Rules for this purpose.

4 PLAYER ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

4.1 AUTHORIZATION TO REGISTER A PLAYER ACCOUNT

Only players are allowed to play online drawn lottery games and pay-to-play games through OLG.ca. A person wishing to become a Player (a “Prospective Player”) must meet the following criteria, as determined by the High Court in its sole discretion:

the Intended Player cannot already be a player. A player is only entitled to have one player account. Registering or attempting to register more than one Player Account constitutes a material breach of this Agreement; The Intended Player must be at least 18 years of age. Only players who are at least 19 years old can play pay-to-play games and play-for-free games. All players who are at least 18 years of age are eligible to play draw-based lottery games played online; the intended player must reside in Ontario; the intended player must be physically present in the Province of Ontario each time the player plays any of the Games (including when registering for future game transactions); the intended player cannot be an Excluded Person; the Intended Player must be a person acting on their own behalf. The intended player must not act for or on behalf of anyone other than themselves, whether as an agent or otherwise; and the intended player must submit true, complete and accurate information when providing registration information. In the case of sports betting games played online, the intended player must comply with the provisions of paragraphs 5(a), (b), (c) and (d) of Section 14.5 each time the intended player plays any of the games.

A Proposed Player who does not meet all of the above criteria is not eligible to register an account with OLG.ca or become a Player. OLG may, in its sole discretion, request additional information or documentation from any intended Player or Player prior to completing registration of a Player Account or at any time thereafter, including for the purpose of confirming a Player’s identity or other Player contact information and in order to investigate other suspected violations of this Agreement ( including suspected fraudulent or dishonest activity). Failure by the Intended Player to comply with any of the foregoing constitutes a material breach of this Agreement.

OLG will share a Proposed Player’s Registration Information with third party service providers in order to authenticate some or all Registration Information provided to OLG by a Proposed Player and to otherwise confirm that a Proposed Player has met the foregoing criteria and is eligible to open a Player Account to register. In addition, OLG may from time to time similarly disclose information about a Player to (i) confirm the Player’s continued eligibility to maintain a Player Account, (ii) investigate suspected violations of this Agreement (including suspected fraudulent activity), or unfair activities) and (iii) the exercise of any other right of OLG described in this Agreement or in any of the other documents incorporated into this Agreement by reference pursuant to Section 3.

By providing any information or documentation to OLG, the intended player (or the player, as the case may be) consents to the use and disclosure of that information by OLG for any purpose set forth in this Agreement or any other document required by Section 3 be incorporated by reference into this Agreement. 4.2 PLAYER ACCOUNT INFORMATION

Information submitted by a Prospective Player registering an account with OLG.ca must be true, accurate and complete at the time it is provided to OLG, and such information must remain true, accurate and complete after a Player Account is registered. If any of this Registration Information changes after registering a Player Account, it is the Player’s sole responsibility to ensure that the Player remains eligible to hold a Player Account under the terms of this Agreement and, if necessary, to update the Player’s information in the player account by going to the “My Account” or “Account Information” page.

OLG may, from time to time, share a player’s registration information with third party service providers to confirm that the player’s registration information remains true and accurate. In addition, OLG may, at its sole discretion, request additional information and documentation from a player for this purpose at any time.

You agree that OLG and its third party service providers may collect Personal Information as defined in OLG’s Privacy and Cookie Policy. You agree that this information may be used, stored, retained and disclosed outside of the province of Ontario and Canada. This consent enables the provision of the following services: (i) verification of identity; (ii) payment processing; (iii) location verification; (iv) analytics; (v) customer relationship management and player support; (vi) email services; and (vii) technical support.

A Player’s failure to update their Player Account information in a timely manner constitutes a material breach by the Player of this Agreement. If, after registering a Player Account, OLG determines that any of the registration information associated with a Player Account then stored in the iGaming system is not is true or no longer accurate or complete (including, for example, because a Player’s circumstances have changed and the Player has not updated their information associated with the Player Account), OLG may take any action with respect to the Player or the Player Account that OLG deems appropriate in its sole discretion. Such steps may include, for example, suspending or disabling the player’s account, investigating security issues and, in the event of suspected or actual identity theft or fraud, disclosing all relevant information to the appropriate law enforcement authorities and other third parties identified by OLG as appropriate (e.g. AGCO, OLG payment processors and credit card issuers and brands).

4.3 REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

OLG may require a Player to provide additional information and documentation if OLG, in its sole discretion, determines that the additional information or documentation is necessary to comply with any applicable law or governmental request, or if OLG deems it necessary to collect such information or documentation necessary or advisable to prevent fraud or other illegal activity (whether suspected or actual), or to otherwise remedy a suspected or actual violation of the terms of this Agreement, or to verify a player’s identity or eligibility to receive or withdraw unused funds confirm . Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, a player must provide OLG with such information and documentation as OLG may need to fulfill its FINTRAC reporting obligations. All such information provided to OLG is stored in the iGaming system on servers located in the province of Ontario. By providing OLG with such additional information or documentation, Player represents and warrants to OLG that such information is true and accurate or that such documentation is a true, accurate and complete copy of the original.

4.4 PASSWORD SECURITY

Upon registering for a Player Account, an Intended Player must create a username and password. Upon registering a Player Account, the Player is solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of the Player’s username and password, including any related security or verification questions and answers. A player is not permitted to disclose the username and password to any other person (including but not limited to other players, prospective players, family members or minors) and only the player may use the username and password to log in appropriately player account. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, a player is not permitted to use their username and password to allow any other person access to the player’s gaming account for any reason. All transactions (e.g. changes to registration information and player contact information, deposits, withdrawals, games and lottery ticket purchases) made through a player account after the correct entry of a valid username and password are deemed to have been made by the player and the player is alone responsible for all these transactions.

4.5 PLAYER ACCOUNTS

A player may access their player account details through the OLG.ca website by going to the “My Account” or “Account Information” page, including, for example, the following information:

the player’s registration information, including the player’s contact information; Player username and password and associated security questions and answers; the current notional balance of the Player Account; the financial transaction history associated with the Player Account; and game history associated with the player account.

If a player discovers an inaccuracy or error in the information contained in their player account, or if the player suspects that such an inaccuracy or error may exist, the player is obliged to do so immediately, regardless of who is responsible for the inaccuracy or error Contact Player Support.

OLG.ca is a lottery and gaming website intended for personal entertainment. A Player may only use their Player Account for these purposes. A Player may only use their Player Account for personal purposes. A player is not permitted to use OLG.ca or any component thereof (including a player account) or any Content contained on OLG.ca for any business, commercial or public purpose or for any other purpose that OLG may notify the player from time to time is not permitted. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, a player may not, via chat or otherwise, display, provide or transmit content that OLG deems inappropriate (including the use of a nickname), or threaten to bully or otherwise harass other players.

OLG may take any action with respect to the Player or the Player Account that OLG, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate with respect to any content that is hateful, discriminatory, sexist, violent, offensive or otherwise inappropriate. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, OLG may, in its sole discretion, request that a nickname be changed, remove content that OLG deems inconsistent with the foregoing, and/or suspend or disable the Player Account.

A Player Account is not owned by the Player and may not be assigned, transferred or shared by the Player with any other person for any purpose.

5 PLAY BY SUBSCRIPTION FOR FUTURE DRAWING

5.1 PLAYERS MAY PLAY CERTAIN DRAW-BASED LOTTERY GAMES PLAYED ONLINE BY SUBSCRIPTION PROVIDED THAT A PLAYER HAS UNUSED GOODS (OR, SUBJECT TO THE APPLICABLE BONUS FUND TERMS, BONUS FUNDS) IN THEIR PLAYER ACCOUNT OR BY DIRECT PAYMENT, OTHERWISE AND SUBJECT TO THE SYSTEM COMPLIED WITH THE TERMS OF THIS SECTION 5 AND THE OLG RULES REGARDING IGAMING LOTTERY GAMES.

5.2 OLG OFFERS TWO TYPES OF SUBSCRIPTION OPTIONS AS FOLLOWS:

the “Consecutive Draw” option, which provides a player with the ability to automatically purchase a ticket for a specified number of consecutive draws in a draw-based lottery game played online, in accordance with the OLG Rules for iGaming Lottery Games. The number of consecutive draws available varies from a minimum of two to the maximum displayed to the player on OLG.ca; and the “Never Miss a Draw” option, which provides a player with the option to automatically purchase a ticket for an indefinite number of draws in a draw-based lottery game played online, in accordance with the OLG Rules for iGaming Lottery Games.

5.3 A TICKET PURCHASE TRANSACTION BY A PLAYER THROUGH A SUBSCRIPTION UNDER THIS SECTION 5.2 WILL BE REFERRED TO AS A “FUTURE GAME TRANSACTION”.

A player who engages or attempts to engage in future gaming transactions is solely responsible for continuously ensuring that: his player account contains sufficient unused funds (or bonus funds, if applicable) for such future gaming transactions; and that the player has completed future game transactions with a reasonable time (as determined by OLG) to allow OLG to process and record such transaction. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, in addition to complying with any other term of this Agreement then in effect, such Player must: ensure that they hold a valid Ticket for the relevant Draw, as evidenced by the Purchase Confirmation displayed within their Player Account ; and ensure the existence, completeness and accuracy of the information displayed in their player account (including but not limited to all purchase confirmations);

all before such a draw takes place.

OLG assumes no obligation or responsibility for notifying a player:

if they do not have a “Valid Ticket” (as that term is defined in the OLG Rules for iGaming Lottery Games) for a particular draw or draws; or if they do not have or do not have enough unused funds (or bonus funds, if applicable) to play a particular game before refusing the relevant transaction;

provided that the foregoing does not limit OLG’s ability to so notify a player.

6 DEPOSITS TO PLAYER ACCOUNT and direct withdrawal

6.1 FUNDING A PLAYER ACCOUNT and Direct Payments

In order to play games (other than Play-for-Free games) on OLG.ca, a player must have a positive notional balance in their player account. Notwithstanding the foregoing, a player may purchase tickets for draw-based lottery games played online via Direct Pay on OLG.ca (subject to system availability). OLG will not grant credit to players. If a player’s account or eligible Direct Pay payment card does not have sufficient funds for a game at the time of the bet, wager or purchase, the bet, wager or purchase will not be made and the player’s failure to participate in the game will be rejected . A player is solely responsible for ensuring that their player account or payment card authorized for direct payment has sufficient funds for a game (including future game transactions), and OLG assumes no obligation or responsibility to notify a player if this is or may be the case the case is insufficient funds available to play a particular game before the relevant transaction is declined (provided that the foregoing does not limit OLG’s ability to so notify a player).

6.2 MEANS TO DEPOSIT FUNDS and USE Direct Payments

A Player may: (i) fund their Player Account by depositing funds (in Canadian dollars only) with OLG; or (ii) make a purchase for draw-based lottery games played online with direct payment by:

a Visa or MasterCard credit card issued in Canada by a Canadian bank or financial institution, where the player is an authorized user, as defined by the Canadian bank or financial institution, to use the Visa or MasterCard credit card for to use for this purpose. Players should be aware that some credit card issuers treat player account funding as a cash advance and charge a fee for each such credit card transaction. Any cash advance fees or other charges related to the use of a credit card are the sole responsibility of the player; a Visa debit card issued in Canada by a Canadian bank or financial institution, where the player is an authorized user, as defined by the Canadian bank or financial institution, to use the Visa debit card for that purpose; or a Debit Mastercard issued in Canada by a Canadian bank or financial institution, where the Player is an authorized user, as defined by the Canadian bank or financial institution, to use the Debit Mastercard for that purpose.

A Player may also fund their Player Account by depositing funds (Canadian Dollars only) with OLG via an Interac Online payment from a Player’s bank account to which the Player is an Authorized User, as defined by the Bank, to make payments for the Player purpose to access it. If Interac Online is selected as a payment option, a player will be redirected to their bank’s online banking website. OLG does not collect online banking login or password information. A Player should familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions governing the use of their bank or financial institution’s online banking website before using it to fund a Player’s Account, including whether the bank or financial institution charges fees related to the Use of Interac will collect online. All such charges are the sole responsibility of the player. Interac online payments are not eligible for use in making a purchase for draw-based lottery games played online with direct payment

A player should familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions governing the use of their chosen payment method before using it to fund a player’s account or make direct payments. OLG or its payment processing service providers may store Visa or Mastercard credit card, Visa debit card, Debit MasterCard, or Interac Online information (if applicable) on servers located outside of Ontario but within Canada. In addition, OLG and its payment processing service providers may use and disclose aggregate transaction information for various analytical purposes related to their respective businesses (but not related to any specific or identifiable player). By using any payment method listed in 6.2(a) –6.2(c) or by using Interac Online to fund a Player Account or make a direct payment, the Player expressly consents to OLG or its payment processing service providers or both storing such transaction information, located on servers located outside of Ontario but within Canada, and the use and disclosure of aggregate transaction information for the purposes described in this paragraph.

As of the date of this Agreement, no other means of funding a Player Account’s notional balance is permitted.

The merchant associated with each deposit transaction is Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

Any time a player uses a credit card, Visa debit card, debit Mastercard or Interac Online to make a deposit with OLG for the purpose of funding a player’s account notional balance or for direct payments, they are acting as an agent and guarantee to OLG that the player has all necessary rights and authority to use that credit card or the balance on the relevant bank account for such purposes, including where the credit card or bank account is held jointly with or by any other person or persons held by a person other than the player.

OLG will hold a player’s funds deposited with OLG to fund the notional balance of a player’s account in a bank account or escrow account as a trustee for the player (not as a bank or debtor). Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Agreement, OLG shall treat a Player’s funds in escrow with OLG and nothing herein shall create or create any obligation on the part of OLG to return any funds to Players as the Player’s debtor. For the avoidance of doubt, a Player Account is not a bank account and is therefore not insured, guaranteed, sponsored or otherwise protected by any deposit or bank insurance scheme. Funds deposited with OLG to fund a Player Account’s notional balance and cash prizes credited to a Player Account will not bear interest for the benefit of the Player and the Player shall not be entitled to claim interest from OLG in respect of such funds.

In the event that the player owes any amount to OLG under or in accordance with the terms of this Agreement, OLG shall have the right to deduct such amounts from the player’s unused funds and adjust the notional amount of money in the player’s account accordingly, without the player having to pay any prior or further notification must be delivered by OLG.

6.3 DEPOSIT and Direct Payment RESTRICTIONS and Restrictions

In addition to any deposit limits set by a player, OLG may (at its sole discretion) limit a player’s ability to fund a player’s account notional balance or engage in direct payments, including but not limited to through

To establish minimum and maximum amounts that a player may deposit with OLG for the purpose of funding the notional balance of a player’s account on a per-transaction basis or during one or more time periods. As of the date of this Agreement, the minimum deposit amount for a single deposit made by a player cannot be less than $15.00 and not more than $999,999.00; Limiting the number of different credit cards that a player can use to fund a player’s account or make a purchase using Direct Pay. In addition, a given credit card may not be registered with more than one player account, which limits a player’s ability to change deposit methods during certain periods; limit a player’s ability to change certain credit card information or otherwise impose conditions before changing credit card information (e.g., requiring the player to contact player support); change acceptable payment methods; or limit the number of deposits a player can make to fund a player’s account notional balance. As of the date of this Agreement, a Player may not make more than ten (10) such deposits.

Subject to the Deposit Limits set by OLG pursuant to this Section 6.3, a Player has the ability to set, change or remove deposit limits on their Player Account, which will apply for the periods and in the manner provided in the Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion section of the policy

6.4 CHARGES

A “chargeback” occurs, for purposes of this Agreement, when a credit or debit cardholder contacts the bank or other financial institution that issued the card to arrange a refund for a payment transaction made using or using the card connected account has been performed. and the bank or financial institution asks the Higher Regional Court to repay the corresponding funds.

If a Player deposits the notional balance of their Player Account or completes a direct payment purchase and thereafter a chargeback occurs in respect of all or part of the transaction, OLG (or one of its third party service providers) may take some or all of the following actions that OLG each in its sole discretion deems appropriate:

suspending the Player’s Account pending the resolution of any chargeback dispute pursuant to Section 12.1; require the player to contact Player Support to explain the circumstances of the chargeback; debit the unused balance on the player account with the amount of the chargeback. If this debit results in a negative balance of unused funds in the Player’s Account, the amount of the negative balance constitutes a debt owed by the Player to OLG and OLG reserves the right to recover such amount from the Player; Deactivate the player’s account and ban the player from playing on OLG.ca (i.e., consider the person a banned person thereafter); or initiate a dispute resolution process with the relevant bank or financial institution, which may include OLG providing evidence relating to the deposit transaction and/or chargeback to a payment processing service provider and/or bank or financial institution.

7 WITHDRAWALS FROM A PLAYER ACCOUNT

7.1 METHODS OF WITHDRAWING UNUSED FUNDS

Subject to certain exceptions, withdrawals of unused funds from a Player’s account will be processed by electronic bank transfer (in Canadian dollars only) to a bank account registered by the Player and verified and approved by the Higher Regional Court to the Player’s satisfaction, held by the Player at one bank or other held for OLG acceptable financial institution in Canada. A player is not permitted to provide a bank account not owned by the player (alone or jointly with other persons) for such purposes.

Player acknowledges and agrees that:

OLG will require the player to submit documentation (by electronic upload through OLG.ca or as OLG otherwise directs) that, in OLG’s sole determination, demonstrates the player’s authority over the bank account to be registered. For example, the Higher Regional Court may request a copy of an invalid check or bank statement, which in each case includes the player’s name, address, and bank account number, all of which must match the information associated with the player’s account stored in the Higher Regional Court’s iGaming system ; by submitting this documentation to OLG, the player is deemed to represent and warrant to OLG that this documentation is a true, accurate and complete copy of the original; and if the Player registers a bank account that is held jointly with one or more other persons, withdrawals of unused funds from their Player Account will be deposited into that joint account and therefore may be viewed by the other account holders.

A player is not permitted to specify a different payment method or payment currency for a withdrawal. For example, a player may withdraw unused funds to a credit card even if the player used a credit card to deposit funds with OLG to fund the notional balance of their player account. OLG, in its sole discretion, may from time to time return unused funds to a player by any other appropriate means.

7.2 WITHDRAWAL LIMITS AND RESTRICTIONS

Subject to the terms of this Agreement, a Player may withdraw unused funds from their Player Account up to the then current Unused Funds balance.

A Player may not withdraw any unused funds from a Player Account through OLG.ca when a Player Account is suspended, unless OLG, in its sole discretion, determines that the withdrawal (in whole or in part) is permitted. If a player’s account is blocked and the player wishes to withdraw unused funds, the player must contact player support.

OLG may, from time to time, set minimum and maximum withdrawal amounts applicable to Player Accounts. As of the date of this Agreement, the minimum amount for a single withdrawal of idle funds by a player is US$2 and there is no maximum amount for a single withdrawal of idle funds by a player. If a player wishes to withdraw less than the specified minimum amount, the player must contact Player Support.

OLG may, from time to time, limit the number of withdrawals of unused funds that a Player may make during any given period. From the date of this agreement, a player may only withdraw unused funds once per day.

7.3 CANCELLATIONS OF WITHDRAWAL

OLG, in its sole discretion, may refuse any withdrawal request if OLG suspects that such withdrawal violates this Agreement (whether such violation is a material breach or not). OLG will make reasonable efforts to promptly notify the player of such refusal via the player contact information associated with the player’s account.

A player can cancel their withdrawal request through their player account. Unless such cancellation has been processed by OLG, the relevant funds will be credited to the unused funds in the player’s account.

7.4 REFUNDS PROCESSING TIMES

Upon a Player’s request to withdraw unused funds from their Player Account and satisfaction of all other conditions for a withdrawal (including providing OLG with any required information or documentation), OLG can process the withdrawal within three business days in most cases. Under certain circumstances, a longer processing time may be required for a withdrawal. OLG is under no obligation to notify the player of any delay in processing a withdrawal of unused funds or the reason for such delay, unless the player is required to provide additional information or documentation.

8 BONUS FUNDS TERMS

8.1 BONUS FUNDS

From time to time, OLG, in its sole discretion, whether for promotional purposes or otherwise, may offer to upload bonus funds to a player’s account provided that the player (at its sole discretion) accepts the offer of the bonus funds. Bonus funds have a notional monetary value only and are therefore not idle funds at the time they are awarded. A player is not eligible to receive bonus funds unless OLG, in its sole discretion, determines that bonus funds should be offered to a specific player. A player is under no obligation to accept bonus funds. A player can lose bonus funds at any time by contacting player support.

OLG has the right to determine the qualification criteria for all promotions and the awarding of bonus funds. The criteria will be specified in the terms and conditions that OLG finds applicable to specific bonus funds and any use of such bonus funds must comply with the applicable terms and conditions (the “Bonus Funds Terms”). All Bonus Funds Terms shall be deemed incorporated into this Agreement by reference and in the event of any conflict between the Bonus Funds Terms and the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Bonus Funds Terms shall govern to the extent of the conflict.

The award and availability of bonus funds is at the sole discretion of OLG. The use of bonus funds may be restricted to certain games and certain time periods and bonus funds may be forfeited and canceled if not used before a certain date or time. Applicable bonus funds terms and conditions should be consulted. In addition, OLG may, at its sole discretion, cancel bonus funds uploaded to a Player Account at any time.

8.2 USE OF BONUS FUNDS

If a player wishing to play games (other than play-for-free games, sports betting games played online and draw-based lottery games played online) has both bonus funds and unused funds in his player account (regardless of whether the bonus funds were awarded before or after crediting the Player Account balance with notional funds, whether resulting from a deposit of funds to OLG by the Player or the Player winning a prize), the unused funds will first be used to play the Eligible Games until all unused funds are used up, after which the bonus funds will be used. Winnings from wagers placed with bonus funds are added to the bonus funds balance.

If a player chooses to pay for online draw lottery games played with direct payment, they are not allowed to use unused funds or bonus funds to pay part of the total purchase value; Entire purchase must be made using Direct Pay. If a player wishes to use unused funds and/or bonus funds in their player account to pay for part of a purchase, the player must pay for the entire purchase with unused funds and/or bonus funds in accordance with this Agreement.

For draw lottery games played online and sports betting games played online, bonus funds will be used in accordance with the applicable Bonus Funds Terms. These Terms may require and/or allow a Player to use bonus funds to purchase online draw-based lottery games and online sports betting games before using any unused funds.

Bonus funds terms and conditions may provide that certain bonus funds will not become unused funds until certain wagering requirements have been met. A player should read the applicable Bonus Funds Terms and Conditions before accepting any Bonus Funds offer. If a player does not fully accept the applicable Bonus Funds Terms, the player may not accept the applicable Bonus Funds or opt-out of the Promotion in accordance with these Bonus Funds Terms.

9 ADVERTISING

9.1 PUBLICATION OF WINNER INFORMATION

OLG may post the winner’s name, city, prize amount, game name, “insider” status, draw date and payout date on the OLG website (OLG.ca).

10 INACTIVE AND DORMANT ACCOUNTS

10.1 INACTIVE ACCOUNTS

A player account will become an inactive account if there has not been a successful player-initiated transaction for a period of 12 consecutive months, unless the player account is for a self-excluded individual. For these purposes, a “Player Initiated Transaction” means (i) a deposit of funds by the Player for the purpose of funding the Player’s Account, (ii) a withdrawal of unused funds from the Player’s Account, or (iii) a bet, wager or purchase of a draw-based lottery game or pay-to-play game played online, including a future game transaction that has not expired or has been suspended due to insufficient unused funds or other reasons. For the avoidance of doubt, a play-for-free game does not count as a player-initiated transaction. If the future gaming transaction associated with such player account expires or is suspended or canceled for any reason, the aforesaid 12-month period will commence on the date on which the last future gaming transaction is processed by the player account, the last being a player-initiated transaction.

A player account that has become an inactive account is no longer an inactive account upon the successful completion of a player-initiated transaction.

An inactive account is subject to the following monthly service fees (“Inactive Account Fees”), the amount of which OLG is entitled to withdraw from the idle funds associated with the Player Account at the end of each month (or at any time thereafter) without the need for prior or further notice of the player:

during each of the first 12 months that the Player Account is an inactive account, a monthly service fee of $2 per month (or if the Player Account balance is less than $2, then such balance); during each of the next six months that the Player Account is an inactive account, a monthly service fee of $10 per month (or if the Player Account balance is less than $10, then such balance); and during each of the next six months that the Player Account is an inactive account, a monthly service fee of $25 per month (or if the Player Account balance is less than $25, then such balance).

The maximum amount of Inactive Account Fees that OLG is entitled to receive from a Player under this Agreement is equal to (i) $234 and (ii) the amount of idle funds associated with the Inactive Account, whichever is less is.

10.2 SCHOOLING ACCOUNTS

An inactive account will become a dormant account if the player does not successfully complete a player-initiated transaction within 24 months immediately following the date the player account becomes an inactive account (i.e., the player has not successfully completed a player – Initiated transaction for 36 consecutive months). If a player account becomes a dormant account, the player account will first be blocked by OLG and then deactivated. Once the player account is dormant, the player can no longer log in or use the player account. Subject to the Minimum Withdrawal Requirements in Section 7.2 and the Documentation Requirements in Section 4.3, OLG will deposit an amount equal to the then unused funds into the bank account associated with the Player Account and the details of which will be stored by OLG on the iGaming System. In the event that no bank account is associated with the Player Account or if OLG is unable to successfully deposit the unused funds into such bank account (e.g. because the bank account has been closed or because OLG requires additional information to confirm that the bank account belongs to the player), OLG will make all reasonable efforts to contact the player using the player contact information to inform him of the status of the player’s account and the balance of the unused funds. If OLG cannot contact the player, the player account will be deactivated. If OLG is unable to contact the player within 24 months after the player account has become dormant, unused funds may be forfeited to OLG.

10.3 REACTIVATION OF A DORMANT PLAYER ACCOUNT

OLG stores information related to a dormant account in the iGaming system in accordance with its record keeping policy. If a player account has become dormant and suspended, the player can then contact player support to request reactivation of the player account. When a Dormant Account is reactivated, it will have the same account details as those that existed at the time the Player Account became a Dormant Account. In the event that relevant information has changed (e.g. the Player’s contact information), the Player is solely responsible for updating such information and for complying with the then applicable terms of this Agreement.

11 CLOSURE OF PLAYER ACCOUNTS

11.1 SCHLIESSUNG EINES SPIELERKONTOS DURCH DEN SPIELER

12 DEAKTIVIERUNG ODER SPERREN EINES SPIELERKONTOS NACH ERMESSEN VON OLG

12.1 AUSSETZUNG EINES SPIELERKONTOS

OLG hat das Recht, ein Spielerkonto jederzeit nach eigenem Ermessen zu sperren (ein „gesperrtes Konto“). Ohne das Vorstehende einzuschränken und nur als Beispiel, kann OLG den Zugang eines Spielers zu seinem Spielerkonto sperren, wenn es den Verdacht hat, dass der Spieler eine Rückbuchung unrechtmäßig eingeleitet hat oder einen Verstoß gegen diese Spielervereinbarung, geltendes Recht, Lotteriespielregeln, und/oder die Pay-to-Play-Spielregeln.

Während ein Spielerkonto gesperrt ist:

ein Spieler kann sich nicht anmelden oder auf sein Spielerkonto zugreifen; ein Spieler nicht in der Lage ist, ungenutzte Gelder abzuheben, es sei denn, OLG bestimmt nach eigenem Ermessen etwas anderes; Alle zukünftigen Spieltransaktionen im Zusammenhang mit dem gesperrten Spielerkonto werden gesperrt und/oder storniert (d. h. es werden keine Käufe oder sonstigen Finanztransaktionen in Bezug darauf abgeschlossen, die zum Zeitpunkt der Sperrung des Spielerkontos noch nicht abgeschlossen wurden); und ein Spieler kann aufgefordert werden, bei Untersuchungen zu kooperieren, die von OLG zum Verhalten des Spielers durchgeführt werden, bevor die Suspendierung aufgehoben wird (einschließlich der Bereitstellung zusätzlicher Unterlagen oder Informationen, die von OLG angefordert werden). Die Nichtkooperation mit diesem Unterabschnitt 12.1(d) gilt als wesentlicher Verstoß gegen diese Vereinbarung.

Wenn OLG während der Suspendierung feststellt, dass der Spieler einen wesentlichen Verstoß gegen diese Vereinbarung begangen hat, kann es das Spielerkonto gemäß Abschnitt 12.2 deaktivieren.

12.2 DEAKTIVIERUNG VON SPIELERKONTEN

OLG hat das Recht, ein Spielerkonto jederzeit nach eigenem Ermessen zu deaktivieren (ein „deaktiviertes Konto“).

Wenn OLG ein Spielerkonto deaktiviert, zahlt OLG einen Betrag in Höhe der nicht verwendeten Gelder zu diesem Datum auf das Bankkonto ein, das mit dem Spielerkonto verbunden ist (vorbehaltlich der in Abschnitt 7.2 beschriebenen Mindestauszahlungsanforderungen und zusätzlicher Dokumentationsanforderungen in Abschnitt 4.3 ), deren Daten vom OLG auf dem iGaming-System gespeichert werden. Für den Fall, dass dem Spielerkonto kein Bankkonto zugeordnet ist oder wenn OLG nicht in der Lage ist, die nicht verwendeten Gelder erfolgreich auf ein solches Bankkonto einzuzahlen (z. B. weil das Bankkonto geschlossen wurde oder weil OLG zusätzliche Informationen benötigt, um bestätigen, dass das Bankkonto dem Spieler gehört), wird OLG alle angemessenen Anstrengungen unternehmen, um den Spieler unter Verwendung der Spielerkontaktinformationen zu kontaktieren. Wenn OLG nicht in der Lage ist, den Spieler zu kontaktieren, behält OLG die ungenutzten Gelder, bis OLG vom Spieler oder seinem gesetzlichen Vertreter ordnungsgemäße Anweisungen zur Verfügung über diese Gelder erhält.

Ungeachtet des Vorstehenden ist OLG berechtigt, wenn OLG ein Spielerkonto aufgrund eines wesentlichen Verstoßes des Spielers im Rahmen dieser Vereinbarung deaktiviert (nach eigenem Ermessen), einige oder alle der nicht verwendeten Gelder als verfallen zu behandeln Spieler, in diesem Fall hat der Spieler keinen Anspruch auf Rückerstattung der nicht verwendeten Gelder.

13 AUSWIRKUNGEN DER DEAKTIVIERUNG ODER SCHLIEßUNG EINES SPIELERKONTOS

Ohne Einschränkung des Vorstehenden, wenn ein Spielerkonto ein geschlossenes Konto oder ein deaktiviertes Konto ist:

Alle geplanten Einsätze, Wetten oder Käufe (einschließlich zukünftiger Spieltransaktionen), die vor der Schließung oder Deaktivierung nicht abgeschlossen wurden, werden storniert; Der Spieler ist nicht berechtigt, Angebote für neue Bonusgelder zu erhalten, und alle bestehenden Bonusgelder, die mit dem Spielerkonto verbunden sind, werden storniert und der Spieler hat keinen Anspruch auf eine Entschädigung in Bezug auf die stornierten Bonusgelder; und diese Vereinbarung wird beendet, mit Ausnahme der Bestimmungen, die ihrer Natur nach dazu bestimmt sind, die Beendigung dieser Vereinbarung zu überdauern.

14 ZUGRIFF AUF UND VERWENDUNG VON OLG.CA

14.1 LIEFERUNG UND WARTUNG VON SPIELERAUSRÜSTUNG UND DIENSTLEISTUNGEN

Potenzielle Spieler, beabsichtigte Spieler und Spieler sind allein verantwortlich für die Bereitstellung und Wartung aller Geräte, Technologien und Dienste, die sie für den Zugriff auf und die Nutzung von OLG.ca benötigen. Die Leistung oder der Betrieb von OLG.ca oder einer Website oder mobilen Anwendung, die OLG den Spielern von Zeit zu Zeit zur Verfügung stellt, kann durch die Computerausrüstung, das mobile Gerät, die Internetverbindung eines Spielers oder andere Faktoren beeinträchtigt werden, die außerhalb der Kontrolle von OLG liegen. In einigen Fällen kann ein potenzieller Spieler, ein beabsichtigter Spieler oder ein Spieler aufgrund von Mängeln in seiner eigenen Ausrüstung oder Technologie oder den beauftragten Dienstanbietern möglicherweise nicht auf einige oder alle Komponenten oder Funktionen von OLG.ca zugreifen oder diese nutzen von ihnen. Beispielsweise könnte eine langsame Internetverbindung die Leistung oder den Betrieb von OLG.ca beeinträchtigen, oder ein veralteter Webbrowser oder die Einstellungen auf dem Computer eines Spielers könnten dazu führen, dass einige oder alle Inhalte von OLG.ca falsch oder nicht angezeigt werden Anzeige.

OLG gibt keinerlei Zusicherungen oder Gewährleistungen hinsichtlich der Kompatibilität, Funktionalität, Leistung oder des Betriebs von OLG.ca oder einer Komponente davon auf einem beabsichtigten Spieler, potenziellen Spieler oder dem Computer des Spielers oder anderen Geräten ab, die für den Zugriff auf OLG.ca verwendet werden.

Spieler benötigen möglicherweise zusätzliche Dienste von Drittanbietern, um auf OLG.ca zuzugreifen (z. B. Vertrag mit dem Internetdienstanbieter, Vertrag mit dem Mobilfunkanbieter, E-Mail-Konto, Textnachrichtendienst (SMS)) oder um mithilfe der Multi-Faktor-Authentifizierung auf ihr Spielerkonto zuzugreifen. Der Spieler ist allein verantwortlich für alle Vereinbarungen und Gebühren im Zusammenhang mit diesen Drittanbieterdiensten. A Player should familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions that govern any such services prior to using them to access OLG.ca.

14.2 THIRD-PARTY CONTENT; joint games

In order to access or use certain components of OLG.ca, it may be necessary for a Prospective Player or a Player to download software (for example, certain casino games may require a flash player or an up-to-date web browser; and the use of Multi-Factor Authentication requires the Player to download a third-party application that will generate a Time-based One-time Password.)

Certain third-party product providers may require the Prospective Player or the Player to accept and agree to additional terms and conditions governing the use of their products. It is the sole responsibility of the Prospective Player or the Player to determine whether they accept and agree to any such third-party terms and conditions, and if the Prospective Player or the Player does not accept and agree to them, such third-party product should not be used.

OLG shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage to, or loss of data from, a Prospective Player’s or a Player’s equipment that may arise from or as a result of the access or use of OLG.ca or any content, software or applications made available by or on behalf of OLG through OLG.ca.

Some Pay-to-Play Games may be offered jointly and networked with one or more other Canadian lottery jurisdictions. Players playing such Games could face opponents from within Ontario as well as opponents located elsewhere in Canada.

14.3 OLG’S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

OLG is the owner or licensee of all of the copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in, to and in respect of OLG.ca and the iGaming System, including the content of the foregoing, the Games and any written communications that are sent to Prospective Players or Players by or on behalf of OLG (collectively, “OLG IP Rights”). No Prospective Player or Player shall be deemed to be granted or to receive any rights in or to any of the OLG IP Rights except to the extent specifically contemplated in, and subject to the terms and conditions of, this Agreement.

14.4 VIRUSES, HACKING AND OTHER OFFENCES

The access or use of OLG.ca other than in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement is strictly prohibited.

A Prospective Player or a Player shall not:

knowingly or negligently introduce, or permit the introduction of, any virus, trojan, worm, logic bomb or other material that is or would reasonably be expected to be malicious or technologically harmful to OLG.ca, the iGaming System, any Game or any component of any of the foregoing; access or attempt to gain access to OLG.ca, the iGaming System, any Game or any component of any of the foregoing that they are not entitled to access, including the servers on which OLG.ca, the iGaming System or any Game is stored or any server, computer or database connected to OLG.ca, the iGaming System or any Game. The foregoing restriction includes any attempt to bypass any security mechanisms included in OLG.ca, the iGaming System or any Game, including those which are intended to protect the security of Player’s personal information; use any software program which, in OLG’s sole determination, is endowed with artificial intelligence (i.e., robots) in connection with the Player’s participation in a Game; attack, whether alone or in combination with others, OLG.ca by means of a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack; translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, create derivative works based on, or otherwise modify or make any attempt to discover the source code of any software (or any part thereof) that is downloaded through or in connection with the access or use of OLG.ca; copy, disclose (including, for example, by posting on any social media, blog, message board or other public forum), transmit or otherwise make available, or remove or alter, any of the content or material that is made available on or through OLG.ca; or remove, obscure or alter any notice of any OLG IP Right (including any designation of copyright or trademark) contained in any content or material that is made available on or through OLG.ca.

A failure to comply with this Section 14.4 will constitute a material breach of this Agreement by the Prospective Player or the Player. In the event that any action that is prohibited by this Section 14.4 occurs, OLG (in its sole discretion) may deem it to be an Error for the purposes of this Agreement, and, in addition to this Section 14.4, Section 15.1 shall also apply in respect thereof.

14.5 COLLUSION, CHEATING, FRAUD AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITY

Each Player is prohibited from engaging in, and is required to immediately notify OLG upon becoming aware that another Player is or may be engaging in, any form of collusion, cheating, fraud or criminal activity or otherwise exploiting an unfair advantage involving any Game or other component of OLG.ca, including in connection with the registration of a Player Account, the deposit of funds with OLG to the credit of the notional balance of a Player Account, making a bet, wager or purchase of a Game, or the withdrawal of Unutilized Funds.

For the purposes of this Agreement, as examples only:

fraud includes the unauthorized use of a credit card as a source of funds to be deposited to the credit of a Player Account or to initiate a purchase using Direct Pay; criminal activity includes money laundering; an unfair advantage includes the use of any software that could provide a Player with an unfair advantage (including, by way of example only, “bots”, artificial intelligence, machine learning software, malicious code, opponent profiling software, automatic betting software, viruses, worms, or malware); and an unfair advantage includes the exploitation of a fault, loophole or error in any software that is used in connection with the operation of OLG.ca (including any Game) or the exploitation of any Error; and in the case of Sports Betting Games Played Online, collusion includes any of the following: having access to non-public/exclusive information related to an Event, or having the potential to impact the outcome of an Event or bet type, in respect of any Event overseen by the relevant Event governing body; having sufficient authority to influence the outcome of an Event (including, without limitation, athletes, coaches, managers and owners), in respect of any Event overseen by the relevant Event governing body; being an owner of an Event governing body or an Event member team, in respect of any Event overseen by that governing body or any event in which a member team of that governing body participates; or compiling betting odds for any Event in which one is involved.

Each Player hereby represents and warrants to OLG that they comply, and will comply, with the provisions of paragraphs 5(a), (b), (c) and (d) of this Section 14.5.

OLG will use reasonable efforts to detect and prevent any such collusion, cheating, fraud or criminal activity by Players or the taking of any unfair advantage by Players, but in the event that any such activity occurs and another Player incurs any loss or damage, OLG will not be liable for any such loss or damage.

Each Player hereby represents and warrants to OLG that they comply, and will comply, with the provisions of paragraphs 5(a), (b), (c) and (d) of this Section 14.5.

OLG shall have the right to notify all third parties which OLG, in its sole discretion, determines to be appropriate in the event of any actual or suspected collusion, cheating, fraud or criminal activity by any Player or the taking of any unfair advantage by any Player, including the appropriate law enforcement authorities and other third parties that OLG determines to be appropriate (for example, police services, the AGCO, OLG’s payment processors, Event governing bodies, other operators/providers of sports being platforms, and credit card issuers and brands).

15 ERRORS AND UNAVAILABILITY OF OLG.CA

15.1 OLG’S ERRORS

A number of circumstances may arise where a Game-related bet, wager or purchase is accepted by OLG, or where OLG awards a Prize, credits a Player Account or processes a withdrawal, in each case in error (an “Error”). As examples only, Errors may include:

where OLG misstates any Lottery Game Rules, Pay-to-Play Game Rules or Bonus Funds Terms, in each case as a result of an obvious error or omission in inputting the information, or as a result of a computer malfunction; where OLG credits a Player Account, thereby increasing the amount of Unutilized Funds, as a result of a manual or computer input error; where OLG deposits into a Player’s bank account an amount that is greater than the amount of Unutilized Funds in a Player Account; or in the case of Sports Betting Games Played Online, errors which may result in the voiding and/or resettling of a wager: Where OLG accepts a wager after the Event Cut-off Time for Wagering (as defined in the applicable Pay-to-Play Game Rules); after a result is known; or at a stage where the Player could have any indication of the result of the wager; Where OLG accepts a wager based on incorrect information provided by OLG including, but not limited to, incorrect outcomes, participants, location, date, time, lines or odds; Where OLG settles a wager with an incorrect result or payout; or If OLG, in its sole discretion, believes that the integrity of the event may have been called into question: or The Player fails to comply with one or more of paragraphs 5(a), (b), (c) and (d) of Section 14.5

OLG reserves the right to correct any Error in the manner that it deems appropriate in the circumstances, and OLG’s decision shall be final and binding. Reference is also made to Section 16.3.

Neither OLG nor any of its employees, agents or service providers shall be liable for any loss incurred by a Player that results from any Error, including any loss of winnings that results from a forfeiture thereof by the Player as a result of the Error. OLG shall use reasonable efforts to notify a Player if any Error has adversely impacted the Player, or if the correction of any Error adversely impacts the Player.

In the event that OLG credits a Player Account, or pays any money to a Player (for example, by processing a withdrawal), as a result of or in relation to an Error, the Player shall be deemed to hold the entirety of the amount of such credit or payment (such amount being herein referred to as “Error Funds”) in trust for OLG, and OLG shall have the right to recover the Error Funds through a correcting entry to the extent that funds are available in the Player’s Player Account and, if sufficient funds are not available, through a demand for payment to that person, which demand the person shall immediately satisfy, to the extent of any deficiency, in accordance with OLG’s reasonable instructions. Further , any subsequent Game-related bet, wager or purchase may be deemed by OLG to have been made using the Error Funds, and (i) OLG may cancel such bet, wager or purchase, and (ii) if any Prize in respect thereof has been credited to the Player Account or otherwise paid or delivered to the Player, the Player shall be deemed to be holding the full amount of such Prize in trust for OLG, and (iii) upon OLG making a demand for the return of such Prize, the Player shall immediately return the Prize to OLG in accordance with OLG’s reasonable instructions.

15.2 UNAVAILABILITY OF OLG.CA

OLG intends to make OLG.ca available on a 24-hour basis, 7 days a week. However, from time to time it will be necessary to limit or restrict access to all or parts of OLG.ca (“Downtime”), including for purposes of conducting software maintenance and upgrades, and addressing Errors and other issues as determined by OLG in its sole discretion. During a period of Downtime, some or all of the functionality of OLG.ca may not be available. As examples only, it may not be possible to:

deposit funds with OLG for purposes of crediting the notional balance of a Player Account; withdraw Unutilized Funds; play Games; or check a Player’s transaction history.

OLG will use reasonable efforts to notify Players in advance of planned Downtime by posting notices at OLG.ca or through other appropriate means as determined by OLG in its discretion. However, it may not be possible to notify Players in advance of Downtime, including in circumstances beyond OLG’s control (for example, a power failure) or if the Downtime is determined to be necessary to address a potential or actual security threat or breach. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Agreement, a Player shall not be entitled to any compensation arising from or as a result of any Downtime including, for example, if a Player is unable to withdraw Unutilized Funds through OLG.ca or if Bonus Funds expire during the period of any Downtime.

16 BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT BY A PLAYER

16.1 NOT A MATERIAL BREACH

If a Prospective Player or a Player fails to comply with any term or condition of this Agreement or otherwise breaches this Agreement, except in the case of a material breach of this Agreement (actual or deemed), OLG will use reasonable efforts to notify the Prospective Player or the Player of the breach and, if such breach is of a nature that can be remedied, provide a reasonable period of time (as determined by OLG) during which the Prospective Player or Player may remedy the breach. If the breach is not remedied to the satisfaction of OLG, then the breach shall be deemed to be a material breach of this Agreement.

16.2 MATERIAL BREACH

If a Prospective Player or a Player fails to comply with any term or condition of this Agreement and such breach is or is deemed by OLG to be a material breach for purposes of this Agreement, then in addition to the other rights and remedies of OLG specified in this Agreement, OLG may exercise any or all of the following remedies as OLG, in its sole discretion, determines to be appropriate in the circumstances, in each case without the requirement for prior notification to the Prospective Player or the Player or any remedial period:

Suspend the Player Account until such time as the breach is remedied to OLG’s satisfaction; request that the Player contact Player Support to explain the circumstances of the breach, or to provide such information and documentation relating thereto as OLG may request; Deactivate the Player Account and exclude the Player from playing Games on OLG.ca; notify any third parties which OLG, in its sole discretion, determines to be appropriate in the circumstances, including law enforcement authorities and other third parties (for example, police services, the AGCO, OLG’s payment processors and credit card issuers and brands); or retain any or all of a Player’s Unutilized Funds to the extent necessary to compensate OLG for its actual and/or potential losses and liabilities resulting from such breach.

16.3 DISPUTES

Except as otherwise provided in the Lottery Game Rules or the Pay-to-Play Game Rules, no claim or dispute by a Player with regard to any bet, wager or purchase of a Game, including the outcome of such Game, will be considered by OLG (i) in the case of a Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online, more than 12 months following the date on which the Game is completed, and (ii) in the case of a Pay-to-Play Game, more than 30 days following the date on which the Game is completed.

OLG’s records, as maintained in the iGaming System (and/or OLG’s central computer-controlled online system, in the case of a Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online), will be the final authority in determining the circumstances of a Player’s participation in the relevant Game and the results of such participation. In the event of a disagreement between the result that appears on a Player’s screen and the relevant Game servers (and/or OLG’s central computer-controlled online system, in the case of a Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online), the result that appears in the Game servers (and/or OLG’s central computer-controlled online system, in the case of a Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online) will prevail.

A Prospective Player or a Player who wishes to make a complaint about OLG or any aspect of OLG.ca may do so by contacting Player Support or otherwise contacting OLG in accordance with Section 18.1. A Prospective Player or a Player may also contact the AGCO (OLG’s regulator) using the contact information in Section 18.2.

17 LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

17.1 OLG’S LIABILITY

Except as otherwise provided in the applicable Lottery Game Rules or Pay-to-Play Game Rules, OLG’s (including, but not limited to the extent applicable, OLG’s, OLG’s service providers, subcontractors, employees, agents, and assigns) maximum liability, subject always to Section 17.2, to a Prospective Player or a Player under this Agreement or otherwise in respect of the accessing or use of OLG.ca shall not exceed the lowest of:

the dollar amount value of the bets, wagers, purchases or tips actually made by a Player via their Player Account in respect of the relevant bet, wager, purchase, tip or Game that gave rise to the relevant alleged liability; the amount of applicable monies, where such monies have been improperly directed by OLG or misplaced by OLG; or an aggregate of $1,000 in respect of all other liabilities, including for liabilities resulting from or as a result of any negligent act or omission of or by OLG or any of OLG’s service providers, or anyone acting on behalf of OLG or any of OLG’s service providers.

17.2 EXCLUSIONS FROM OLG’S LIABILITY

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Agreement, OLG shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by any person as a result of:

the operation of OLG.ca, the iGaming System (and/or OLG’s central computer-controlled online system, in the case of a Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online); the failure of OLG.ca, the iGaming System (and/or OLG’s central computer-controlled online system, in the case of a Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online) to operate properly or at all; the participation by any person in, or any failure, negligence or wrongdoing by OLG or any of OLG’s service providers in respect of, any responsible gambling program operated by OLG or any of OLG’s service providers, including: (i) the self-exclusion program or player breaks; (ii) PlaySmart.ca; (iii) deposit limits; (iv) financial limits and budgets; (v) playing time reminders; (vi) self-assessment tools or risk profiles; the failure of OLG or any of OLG’s service providers to: (i) process or record a purchase; (ii) process, receive or record a payment for a ticket; (iii) display an accurate purchase confirmation in such person’s player account; or (iv) otherwise complete a transaction (including, without limitation, a Future Game Transaction); or any wager or tip erroneously or unintentionally made by a Player.

For greater certainty, a Prospective Player or a Player shall not have the right to claim damages under or in connection with OLG.ca or this Agreement or for breach of this Agreement by OLG, in tort, in contract or on any basis whatsoever to the extent that any loss claimed by the Prospective Player or the Player is:

for punitive, exemplary or aggravated damages; for loss of profits, loss of chance, loss of use, loss of production, loss of business or loss of business opportunity, including (but not limited to) loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, reputation or business interruption; a claim for consequential loss or for indirect loss of any nature suffered or allegedly suffered by the Prospective Player or the Player; or not reasonably foreseeable by OLG arising out of this Agreement or the use of OLG.ca.

OLG.ca will be operated with reasonable skill and care substantially as described in this Agreement.

OLG does not make any other promise, representation or warranty regarding OLG.ca or any of the Games or other products or services that are made available on or through OLG.ca, and except as specifically included in this Agreement, OLG hereby disclaims all warranties regarding the foregoing, whether express, implied or statutory, including all implied warranties in respect of the same.

Prospective Players and Players acknowledge and agree that, by accepting the terms and conditions of this Agreement, they do not rely on, and shall have no remedy in respect of, any statement, representation, warranty or understanding of any person, other than those of OLG which are included in (or expressly incorporated by reference into) this Agreement.

19 GENERAL PROVISIONS

19.1 FOR PURPOSES OF THIS AGREEMENT, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED:

“day” means a day of the week commencing at 12:00:00 AM and ending at 11:59:59 PM; “week” means the seven-day period commencing on Monday at 12:00:00 AM and ending on Sunday at 11:59:59 P.M.; “month” means a calendar month; all times are expressed in Eastern Time; all monetary amounts are references to lawful currency of Canada (i.e., Canadian dollars); and “including” is deemed to mean “including without limitation” and shall not be deemed limited by the specific enumeration of items; words importing the singular shall include the plural and vice versa and words importing one gender shall include all genders unless context otherwise requires;

19.2 THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO AND THE FEDERAL LAWS OF CANADA APPLICABLE THEREIN.

19.3 EACH PROVISION OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE VALID AND ENFORCEABLE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IF ANY PROVISION OF THIS AGREEMENT IS DECLARED INVALID, UNENFORCEABLE OR ILLEGAL BY A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION, SUCH PROVISION MAY BE SEVERED AND SUCH INVALIDITY, UNENFORCEABILITY OR ILLEGALITY SHALL NOT PREJUDICE OR AFFECT THE VALIDITY, ENFORCEABILITY AND LEGALITY OF THE REMAINING PROVISIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT.

The UK gambling industry in numbers:

According to the latest results of the participation survey conducted by the Ministry of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, 44 percent of respondents said they had played a national lottery game in the last 12 months (from April 2019 to March 2020). The most popular lottery games are Lotto (71 percent) and EuroMillions (60 percent).

The most common reason for playing the lottery was hoping to win the jackpot on offer (67 percent cited this as a reason), while 24 percent said they were supporting a good cause by playing, and another 24 percent said they play because it is easy.

People aged 45 to 64 were the most likely to play the lottery, with over half agreeing they had played in the last 12 months. On the other hand, 16 to 24-year-olds played the lottery the least often, as only 21 percent stated that they had already played.

How we found the luckiest lotto numbers to play

For this project we used ParseHub, a free and powerful web scraper that can extract data from any website. We used it to pull the winning numbers from 2011 to 2020 from both Powerball and Lotto Max.

We then analyzed the collected data to identify the luckiest numbers for each lotto/country.

The Luckiest Powerball Lotto Numbers (USA)

In Powerball, any number from 1 to 69 can appear as one of the 5 winning numbers for each draw (white balls). While a 6th number is drawn from a pool of red balls from 1 to 26.

While we’ve been scraping together Powerball scores for 10 years, in October 2015 Powerball actually changed the format of their game, adding more numbers to the pool. We have therefore based our analysis on the results of the last 5 years.

Having scraped Powerball scores over the past 5 years, the happiest White Powerball numbers have been:

The unluckiest Powerball numbers

So, what are the unluckiest cue Powerball numbers that are drawn less often?

Let’s break down the unluckiest numbers:

24 and 58 draws in 1.21% of all draws

and drawn on 1.21% of all draws 4, 26, 38 and 65 on 1.17% of all draws

to 1.17% of all draws 51 and 35 to 1.06% of all draws

and in 1.06% of all draws. Finally, the unluckiest numbers are 46 and 34 in 1.02% of all draws.

You can now see that the difference in draws is between the luckiest and the unluckiest numbers.

The Luckiest Lotto Max Numbers

Now we turn to Lotto Max from Canada.

8 numbers from 1 to 49 are drawn for this draw (up to 50 since 2019, we will only consider 1-49 for this analysis).

We analyzed 10 years of Lotto Max draws and the luckiest numbers were:

In number theory, a lucky number is a natural number in a set that is produced by a specific “sieve”. This sieve is similar to Eratosthenes’ sieve that produces the prime numbers, but it eliminates numbers based on their position in the remaining set, rather than on their value (or their position in the initial set of natural numbers).[1]

The term was introduced in a 1956 article by Gardiner, Lazarus, Metropolis and Ulam. They suggest calling the defining sieve also “the sieve of Josephus Flavius”[2] because of its similarity to the counting game in the Josephus problem.

Lucky numbers share some properties with prime numbers, such as B. asymptotic behavior according to the prime number theorem; in addition, a version of Goldbach’s conjecture was extended to them. There are infinitely many lucky numbers. However, if L n denotes the nth lucky number and p n denotes the nth prime number, then L n > p n for all sufficiently large n.[3]

Because of these apparent connections with the primes, some mathematicians have suggested that these properties might be found in a larger class of sets of numbers generated by sevens of a particular unknown form, although there is little theoretical basis for this conjecture. Twin lucky numbers and twin primes also seem to occur with similar frequency.

The sieving process[ edit ]

Continue removing the nth remaining numbers, where n is the next number in the list after the last surviving number. Next comes 9 in this example.

One way in which the application of the method differs from that of Eratosthenes’ sieve is that since n is the number being multiplied on a given pass, the first number eliminated on the pass is the n -th remaining number that has not yet been eliminated, as opposed to the number 2n. That is, the list of numbers through which this sieve counts is different on each pass (e.g. 1, 3, 7, 9, 13, 15, 19… on the third pass), while in the Sieve of Eratosthenes the sieve always counts through the entire original list (1, 2, 3…).

When this process is complete, the remaining integers are the lucky numbers (the random primes are in bold):

A study found the 11 most lucky numbers in the world and I speculate as to why the numbers topped the list. Side note: 11 made it, but not in 11th place.

A British author named Alex Bellos recently published a book on lucky numbers and although I haven’t read it – books am I right? — I HAVE read the results of a study he published. I’m not sure how much he would appreciate that, so here’s a plug: His book is called Alex Through the Looking Glass in the UK and The Grapes of Math in the US because Americans love puns.

Alex conducted a global survey of 30,000 people to compile a list of the happiest numbers in the world. The complete results can be found here in an Excel spreadsheet. (This link is basically just included for my friend Nathan who, due to his heavy data addiction, will click and run his own analysis.)

I pulled out the top 11 and easily explained why they are popular. These are the 11 most popular lucky numbers in the world…

This is the second-highest number in the top 30 (69 came in at #30 to demonstrate the strength of the world’s perverted voting bloc). Depending on where your perspective lies, you’ve credited 42’s success to either Hitchhiker’s Guide or Jackie Robinson.

10 | 11

As one of the world’s leading supporters of the number 11, I’m proud that it went so well. But as THE world’s leading proponent of the concept that the top 10 is for cowards, making the top 10 at age 11 sent me into a recursive loop of pride and shame.

9 | 2

2 is a slightly strange choice for a lucky number, although apparently it brings good luck in China. Since this was a worldwide poll, it’s entirely possible that 2 made it this high on the list – nobody bangs a ballot box like the Chinese do. (I mean, um, not in their own elections…but they’re starved in online polls.) The number 2 ending that high is like the “Yao Ming in the All-Star Game, despite averaging 4 and 2” of the lucky ones is a list of numbers.

8 | 6

Apparently there is an eau de cologne called Lucky Number 6 by Liz Claiborne. That’s the only evidence I’ve found linking the concepts of “lucky number” and “6”… and with all due respect to Liz Claiborne, I’m not sure if her cologne’s Q-Score puts that number on the list brought. And since I’m also not willing to attribute its popularity to Jenna von Oy’s bright shining star, I think it was Chinese culture again – 6 is another of their lucky numbers associated with wealth.

7 | 9

According to the internet, 9 is the lucky number in Norway because of its importance in Norse mythology. There are nine realms in Norse mythology (and occasionally Natalie Portman disappears into them when they all align).

6 | 13

13 is the most unlucky number in most western cultures, so I think we can attribute its popularity to people being opposites. The Internet was essentially based on its ability to turn people into rebels with little effort and no consequence.

5 | 5

5 is another lucky number in Chinese culture. There is certainly nothing that can happen now to dissuade me from believing that this list was entirely influenced by China’s lucky numbers.

4 | 4

let’s explore it 4 is an unlucky number in… oh my… China. My underlying thesis was shaken! It’s time to do what all other good researchers do: ignore this result and move on with confirmation bias galore.

3 | 8th

8 is a lucky number in Chinese (and Japanese) culture because the pronunciation is similar to the word for prosperity and wealth. As I said, China totally influenced this list and I have no evidence (that I look at) to the contrary.

2 | 3

Three is a pretty logical choice for a lucky number. They say that good things come in threes, like comedy punch lines, good Destiny’s Child reruns, and celebrity deaths.

1 | 7

Seven is a ubiquitous lucky number in the Western world, so it was almost a shot at number one on the list. From slot machines to George Costanza baby names, everyone wants to be part of the sevens. And to keep it that way, I won’t even look up China’s feelings about the number 7.

A few other findings from the study: The least lucky number is 110 – it’s the lowest whole number that got zero votes…pi came in 18th…as mentioned, 69 came in 30th, so he was clearly asking after THIS demographic…infinity came in 84th…5318008 (aka BOOBIES if you turn the calculator upside down) came in 108th…420 came in 115th so clearly he wasn’t asking for THIS demographic number…1234, the code on your baggage, came in 117th … and 8675309 got two votes, making it a massive tie for 249th place.

While the odds of winning the lottery are readily available, very few bother to check them. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission (OLG), your chances of winning the lottery are very slim!

The 2.5% odds of winning the Lotto Max Pools Fund (per $5 game) are about 1 in 4.7 million

Now let’s add some perspective to these numbers!

If the odds of winning the lottery are so slim, how does anyone win?

Since the odds of winning the lottery are extremely slim for a single person – particularly the odds of winning the Lotto Max jackpot (at 1 in 33.3 million) – it seems like no one should ever win. Although the odds of a single person winning are extremely slim, it is important to remember that millions of Canadians play the lottery every week and many buy multiple tickets with different numbers.

With a population of approximately 38.06 million people, if every Canadian citizen bought a single lottery ticket, you would expect at least one lottery winner (assuming everyone had a different ticket number).

In short, while you may not win on a single lottery ticket, the chances of someone winning the lottery (given enough time) are almost inevitable. What the gambling agencies are selling is the hope that you are that lucky winner.

Has anyone in Canada ever won Cash for Life?

One of the lottery games available in Canada is the Cash for Life ticket, which promises the chance of winning a set weekly amount for the life of the winner. Has anyone in Canada ever won money for life? Yes.

For example, Amanda McInnis and Jennifer Kemp, a mother-daughter couple, won the 2020 Cash for Life award. However, they opted for the $675,000 lump sum payment instead of payments over time.

Is it worth playing the lottery in Canada?

So is it worth playing the lottery? Would it pay off to buy enough tickets to guarantee a win? Since the odds of winning the lottery are so slim, it’s probably not worth trying to win the lottery with a serious goal.

Why?

For a person to buy enough mixed-number tickets to guarantee a win at Lotto Max, they would have to spend $166.5 million ($5 per ticket times 33.3 million tickets). Meanwhile, the odds of winning the 6/49 Lotto would force them to shell out $41 million.

At one point, the biggest lottery jackpot was 6/49 $64 million, which isn’t a typical jackpot. Meanwhile, the June 8, 2021 Lotto Max jackpot totaled $70 million, with a total of $117 million in prizes in the draw. When jackpots reach these levels, more people play and buy more tickets, increasing the likelihood that the jackpot will have to be split.

In short, even if you bought enough tickets to “guarantee” a win, you would still be losing money.

So while the lottery can be a fun way to blow off some loose change and possibly score a little lucky break, it’s no substitute for investing in a decent retirement fund. For example, if you open a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) account with a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) with an annual interest rate of 5% and deposit $1,000, you would have about $2,653.30 in 20 years if you would have done this. Don’t add a single dollar after the fact – more than doubling your money.

If you were to spend the same money on the lottery, you would probably lose most of it. However, there is one fun factor in playing the lottery that investing in an RRSP simply cannot match. There’s really no harm in playing the lottery in Canada as long as you gamble responsibly and don’t buy hundreds of dollars in tickets every month. On the other hand, if you’re trying to raise money for retirement, it’s much more practical to open a retirement fund!

Money management after winning the lottery

Many lottery players dream of quitting their jobs and buying a sprawling mansion, a flashy new car, designer clothes, and then spending the rest of their days partying and traveling around the globe on exotic vacations.

Many may think that winning the lottery would solve their money problems forever. However, this often does not correspond to reality. Many lottery winners lack proper budgeting and money management skills. Also, winning so much money so quickly can be overwhelming. This is how many lottery winners end up losing everything.

For example, Sharon Tirabassi from Hamilton, Ontario is one of the Canadian lottery winners who lost everything. When you buy tickets for lotteries like Powerball or Mega Millions, you have a choice. You have to decide whether you want to pick your own numbers or use Quick Pick, where a computer randomly selects numbers for you.

But which choice is better? Are you more likely to win the lottery if you choose one method over the other?

The argument for the quick selection of lottery numbers

There is one obvious benefit to using Quick Pick: it’s fast. If you just want to get in the game and have a chance at winning a jackpot, Quick Pick is fast, convenient and gets you up and running in a flash. You don’t have to think about which numbers you want to play, and you don’t have to spend time filling in dozens of numbers on the form.

Another thing that Quick Pick has to offer is that the lottery numbers are random, as are the numbers Quick Pick draws. By trying to outperform the computer by choosing your own numbers, you could actually lower your odds.

Why? People tend to react emotionally to numbers, ‘liking’ some and ‘disliking’ others.

Additionally, people are likely to choose numbers that mean something to them, like dates of birth or anniversaries. This means that some numbers will be chosen more often than others (particularly numbers that fall in the range 1 through 31 since they correspond to dates). If you win with a commonly used number, the chances are higher that you will have to share your jackpot.

The argument for choosing your own lottery numbers

Many people enjoy being in control of the numbers they buy. They may feel closer to a loved one by playing their date of birth, or they may find they are playing a lucky clue, or have more fun finding lucky numbers.

Self-pickers also have the option to avoid the most played numbers. If all numbers have an equal probability of being drawn, then you can at least reduce the likelihood of having to split your jackpot if you win by choosing the least frequently selected numbers, something Quick Pick won’t do for you . Quick Pick does not prioritize lottery numbers that give you higher chances of winning the entire pot.

Another thing Quick Pick can’t do is make sure you pick unique numbers for all tickets. There is no guarantee that your quick-picked lottery numbers will not repeat. With (very!) bad luck, a quick pick can even end up with two tickets with the exact same numbers – a waste of money that doesn’t happen when you pick your own numbers. The Quick Pick is likely to generate the same random numbers for other lottery players as well.

Some people believe they can use a system to crack the lottery. In order to try your luck with a lottery system like Wheeling, to analyze the probability of numbers being drawn, or to follow lottery software recommendations, you must choose your own numbers.

Quick selection or self-selection: which is better?

If there was a clear way to get better chances of winning the lottery, everyone would use it. That the quick pick versus self-pick debate even exists suggests there is no clear winner.

Strictly speaking by numbers, more quick pickers than self-pickers win lottery jackpots. About 70% of lottery winners used Quick Pick to choose their numbers. On the other hand, about the same percentage of all lottery players – around 70% to 80% – use Quick Pick to choose their numbers. So it seems that each method wins about the same percentage of people.

It really boils down to what makes the most sense for you. If you enjoy thinking about numbers to find a pattern, then developing a system might be for you. If playing your kids’ birthdays makes you smile, then play them! Also, sharing a jackpot is better than not winning at all.
