Casinos make money by building an advantage right into the rules of the game. This is reflected in the payout percentage and applies to all online casino games, not just slots. But like I said, that’s just an average. In a single session, there is always the potential for a big jackpot or, alternatively, a cold losing streak. That’s one of the reasons people love slot machines. They give you the opportunity to skyrocket the payout percentage with a big win.

It is easy to see that a higher payout percentage favors the player. That’s why it’s really important that you research and focus on the slots with the highest payout percentages.

Simply put, the payout percentage is the average amount of money returned to a player in the form of winnings compared to the amount the player wagered. The keyword to remember is average. The payout percentage cannot guarantee how much you will win in one session or even 100, but the more spins you take, the better the chances that your results will be closer to the machine’s payout percentage.

How to Find Slots Payout Percentage Online and offline games work on the same basic principles when it comes to slot payouts. Remember that knowing the numbers is just as important whether you are playing online or in a brick and mortar casino. Online Slots If you’re looking for online casinos that actually pay out, a closer look at the payout percentages is a good place to start. You’re probably wondering where to look to find the stats. At online casinos it is usually pretty easy. The payout percentage is sometimes published on the rules or information page for the game itself, or as a list on either the online casino or the game developer’s website. If you’re having trouble figuring out where the slot’s payout percentage is listed, try a quick Google search for the game’s name and either “payout percentage” or “return to player”. If that doesn’t work, a good last resort is to contact the casino directly using their live chat or customer support tools. In general, online casinos offer better payout percentages compared to brick-and-mortar casinos. This is because they have less overhead and an unlimited number of people can play the same game at the same time. It’s common to see slots with payout percentages in the high 90’s, which is much harder to find in real life. Popular Play for Free Play for Real More Slots Play Slots at Land-Based Casinos When it comes to payout percentages, it all comes down to how slots are programmed. To complicate matters, casinos and game developers do not always publish numbers for specific machines. However, there are ways players can find out which machines have cheaper payouts. Fortunately, other people have already done most of the hard work for you. There are tons of great forums and resources for bettors online and the best place to start is with a quick Google search to find the numbers for the game you’re looking for. The geographic location can also tell you something about the payouts. In the US, casinos must meet a minimum payout percentage set by the gaming authorities in that region. It varies by state, but is typically 80% or more. It’s also true that even within the same game, payouts vary depending on how much you bet. Usually, the more you wager, the cheaper the payout percentage. Why You Can’t Cheat a Slot Payouts are random – In land-based casinos, many players spend their time predicting slot payout patterns. The truth is, when the machine is working properly, the odds are even on every single spin. The same goes for online slots. Enhanced Security – Both online slots and slot machines payouts are controlled by computers equipped with very high levels of security. It basically makes them impossible to hack. Casinos spend a lot of time and money protecting their games so that they pay out fairly. And where their security stops, law enforcement takes over. Criminal Charges – Most jurisdictions have specific laws in place that make it illegal to cheat or steal from casinos. The history of gambling is littered with tales of cheaters getting caught and losing everything. These charges carry large fines and, in some cases, significant prison terms.

Return-to-Player (RTP) Explained Another name for the payout percentage is RTP. This stands for “Return to Player” and just as the name suggests, it is the average amount returned to the player in the form of winnings compared to the amount the player wagered. It is represented as a percentage, with 100 being an even money game with no casino advantage. Let’s look at an example: Your favorite slot machine has an RTP of 95%.

For a year you play your favorite slot machine every weekend and wager a total of $1,000.

On average, this machine should set you back $950 in winnings. The most important thing to remember is that the RTP is a statistical average. The larger the sample size of spins on a particular slot, the closer the actual results are to the RTP. Even though the RTP cannot guarantee results, choosing machines with a higher RTP is always a smart move. The more you want to play, the more important it is to find a game with a great RTP.

The House Edge Explained When you hear bettors talking about the “house edge” they are actually referring to the same thing as RTP and payout percentage. The house edge is the casino’s statistical advantage built right into the rules of the game. The house has an advantage on almost every bet in the casino, but the magnitude of this advantage varies dramatically between games or even between different bets within the same game. The house edge is represented as the average percentage of your bet that the casino keeps. For example, a game with a payout percentage of 95% has a house edge of 5%. Casino Game House Edge Craps (Odds Bet) 0% Baccarat (Betting on the Banker) 1.06% Craps (Pass Line Bet) 1.41% Blackjack (Single Deck) 1.5% Pai Gow Poker 1.3% Roulette ( European wheel/single 0) 2.7%

Variance in Slots Whenever players discuss payout percentages in slots, the topic of variance usually follows. Also known as volatility or payout frequency, variance refers to how often a slot pays out jackpots and the size of the wins. Slot variance can be broken down into three types: Low variance slot games – these games often land wins, but the amounts are usually small token jackpots.

– These games often land wins, but the amounts are usually small token jackpots. Medium variance slot games – on these slot games players can expect to hit wins fairly frequently, with a combination of small token wins and larger payouts.

– On these slot games, players can expect to hit wins fairly frequently, with a combination of small token wins and larger payouts. High variance slot games – Players can experience long win droughts on these slot games, but when they cash out, the wins are huge. Casinos and slot machines don’t typically feature a game’s volatility on the paytable. However, players can find this information online or through free slot games themselves. Simply spin the reels 100 times in a free game and note what wins you land. If you trigged the paylines a lot, but the amounts were mostly no more than double the original bet, then the game is a low variance slot. If the opposite happens then it is a high variance slot. Generally, low variance slot games can be found on penny slots and small jackpot games such as; B.Quick hit. Most progressive jackpot slots like Mega Moolah are high variance, which is not surprising considering the massive jackpots they offer.

Loosest Slot Machines What is a loose slot machine? When people call slot machines “loose” and “tight,” they’re referring to the payout percentage. A looser machine will payout more frequently and at a higher percentage, while a tighter machine will have a lower RTP and payout less frequently. The looser the slots are, the better it is for the player. Because of this, you will often see casino billboards saying “The Loosest Slots in Town!” In addition to the RTP, another important statistic is the so-called “hit frequency”. This number is also a percentage and refers to how likely each spin is to result in a winning outcome for the player. It says nothing about how much the player wins, just how often the player wins money on a spin compared to losing. On average, a game with a 20% hit rate will result in a winning combination 1 in 5 times. How To Find Loose Slots If you are looking for the loosest slots, the best answer is the internet. Online casinos can offer the highest RTP because they have much lower overhead than land based casinos. When it comes to slots at a land-based casino, players have developed a few theories on how to find the loosest games. Some players believe that the loosest slot machines are always positioned in the most visible areas of the casino, as the house wants new customers to see winning people and be inspired to get in on the action. It is also believed that machines are loose near cash redemption machines as the casino wants players to cash out money to see people win and be lured back to the games. The same theory is to avoid slots near lines like the buffet and shows. The casino knows that people here are just killing time while they wait and won’t play for very long.

Slots Payouts by State As we mentioned earlier, casinos and game developers are not required to publish the payout percentages for specific games, but they do publish some valuable information about slots. First, most states set a minimum and maximum payout percentage that casinos must adhere to. Second, they publish average payout percentages that include all of the casino’s slots. Using these numbers we can get an overview of which states have the loosest slots and the highest RTP. Nevada It should come as no surprise that Nevada has the highest average RTP percentage, with the Boulder Strip being the absolute highest at 95.8%. The Las Vegas Strip is significantly lower at 93.6%, but if you head into downtown Vegas, that number jumps back up to 95.6%. Florida The state of Florida requires casinos to have a payout percentage of at least 85%, and casinos are also required to publish averages that include all of their slot machines. Depending on the area, the average values range from 90.91% to 93.55%. Illinois casinos in Illinois average between 89.18% and 92.45% depending on the area. Indiana Average payout percentages are reported by casinos in Indiana and range from 89.83% to 91.61% depending on the property. Iowa In Iowa, slots are even tighter with payout percentages starting at 89% and going up to 92% depending on the casino. Atlantic City Compared to Nevada, New Jersey has pretty tight slots. They range from 90.5% to 91.7% depending on the casino. Oklahoma Casinos in Oklahoma are not required to post information about their payout percentages, and the state has no minimum payout percentage that casinos must meet. For these reasons, Oklahoma is believed to be one of the narrower slots regions. California Like Oklahoma, California does not have a minimum payout percentage and does not require casinos to publish information about payout percentages. Some estimates put the average payout percentage in California at just 85%.

Discover the thrill of progressive jackpots Another reason so many people love slots is the chance to win a truly life-changing jackpot. Everyone knows it’s a long road, but players love to dream of what they would do with millions of dollars if they got lucky and made it big. However, in terms of RTP and payout percentage, there is always a trade-off with games that offer big jackpots. Progressive jackpots work by adding a small portion of each bet to a prize pool that keeps growing until someone wins it. It’s not uncommon for these jackpots to reach millions of dollars. The greatest of all time? A $39 million result at the Excalibur in Las Vegas. If you’re interested in the biggest prizes online, visit our progressive slots jackpots page for a comprehensive list. It’s true that the odds of winning a huge jackpot are slim, maybe even similar to a live lottery, but there’s a big difference between the lottery and slots. Slots allow you to land many smaller wins in addition to a chance at the jackpot. The truth is that people play the lottery their entire lives and never win a dime, making slots a much wiser bet.

Can a magnet trick a slot machine?

We often get asked how to cheat a slot machine with a magnet. Let’s get one thing clear: it’s not actually possible to cheat modern day slot machines with a magnet, since they’re all programmed by computer software and aren’t magnetic.

Slots are among the most lucrative games on the casino floor for both players and the house – and cheaters.

With such huge payouts available, it’s no wonder that slot machines have always been a game of cat and mouse between scammers and the house since their invention.

Let’s take a look at some of the cheeky tricks used by slots scammers over the years. However, we do not recommend ever trying them for yourself!

1. Cheat code

Gambling authorities are there to ensure that the gambling industry operates correctly and fairly.

Engineers design slot machines to be monitored and audited while still providing quality gameplay. But what happens when an engineer decides to manipulate the codes for his own benefit?

Notorious slots cheat Ronald Dale Harris – aka the Nevada Gaming Commission engineer – did just that. He sure knew how to rig a slot machine!

For years he cheated machines by knowing the source codes. It wasn’t until his partner had a big win at the casino – $100,000 on a keno game in 1995 – that the fraud was discovered.

2. Shaved Coins

This shaved coin scam doesn’t really exist today, but it’s still interesting to know about.

As technology advanced, slot machines began using a light sensor to register payments. On a large number of machines, the optical sensor worked separately from the physical comparator.

Basically, this meant that if a scraped coin was sent down at the same time as an item that matched the required shape and size of the required stake coin, the scraped coin would be returned while the other item landed in the machine and the game began.

3. Counterfeit Coins

Image: cabda.net

Another method of slot machine cheating that has been used throughout history has been counterfeit coins.

Counterfeit coins were used by fraudster Louis “The Coin” Colavecchio to defraud casinos for years until his arrest in 1998.

He was released in 2006 and quickly started cheating again. It was a matter of months before he was unsurprisingly sussed again.

4. Magnet

We are often asked how to cheat a slot machine with a magnet.

Let’s get one thing straight: It’s actually not possible to cheat modern slot machines with a magnet as they are all programmed by computer software and not magnetic.

However, with the older machines, when they were still made of metal, you could cheat with a magnet.

To cheat on slots with a magnet, you could spin the reels and then use a powerful magnet on the outside of the machine to stop them from spinning when you see your winning combination.

Scammers would then remove the magnet and request the payout.

This wasn’t the most subtle of cheats, but if done well, people could easily win big bucks!

5. Yo-yo

This slots cheat was all about the tech.

A string is attached to the coin, the coin is sent into the machine until it triggers the start of the game, and then the player uses the string to bring the coin back up.

Nowadays, thanks to the advancement of technology, this technique is pretty much obsolete.

However, it is a true classic and if it had worked you would have seen a big win.

6. Lightstick

Image: Chronicle.augusta.com

Tommy Glenn Carmichael is one of the most notorious slot cheats in gambling history. He is in charge of the Light Wand.

Magicians like David Copperfield, Dynamo, and David Blaine may have the ability to create the illusion that something is happening, but Carmichael used his light wand to make jackpot wins magically appear out of nowhere.

The light wand would effectively blind the optical sensor on slot machines so it couldn’t tell how many coins were deposited into the machine, meaning it wouldn’t know when to withdraw or how much.

This meant Carmichael could rig a slot machine to his advantage, turning small wins into massive payouts.

7. Piano Wire

This is an oldie but a tidbit in the world of slots cheats.

A group of men worked together at Caesars Boardwalk Regency Casino in Atlantic City in 1982. A man opened up the target slot machine and attached 20-inch lengths of piano wire to the whirring guts of the game.

The wires could then be used to block the clock that measured wheel spins, allowing the group to manipulate the spins.

They hit the $50,000 jackpot but unfortunately their entire scam was filmed and the winning player was arrested before leaving the premises.

8. Top-Bottom Connection

Image: poptower.com

This is one of the most sophisticated methods of cheating on slot machines and was popular with cheats in the 1970s and 1980s.

They used a special tool that was divided into two parts. A top (a metal rod with the end bent in the shape of a “q”) and a bottom (a long wire).

By passing the bottom through the coin chute and the top through the coin slot, the scammers were able to lock up the machine and force the game to release any coins stored in it.

Big wins galore!

9. Monkey Paw

It’s that man Carmichael again. He was an absolute genius when it came to cheating.

He was the creator of the “Monkey’s Paw”. After testing new methods on a video poker machine, he finally built the right contraption. It was amazingly easy.

He took a guitar string and attached it to a bent metal rod. He slipped it into the machine’s vent and shook it around until he flipped the coin hopper release switch.

Cue the avalanche of coins.

10. Bank note validator

A simple but very effective slots cheat.

This is a small device that is wrapped around a bill to fool the slot machine into accepting a $100 bill when in reality it only accepts a modest $1 bill.

11. Replacement of computer chips

Dennis Nikrasch changed the game of cheating on slot machines with this idea.

He bought a slot machine and fiddled with it in his garage trying to figure out what was wrong.

He found that the computer chips in the machines could be reprogrammed to be manipulated to pay out jackpots on tap.

Nikrasch ordered a batch of these chips, hired a team of scammers, acquired a wad of slot machine keys, and began a fraud reign that bled casinos dry for years.

And he did it all by simply swapping the independent chips for his manipulated chips.

12. Software Errors

Image: businesscomputingworld.co.uk

Software errors have been manipulated by cheats for decades.

By playing a certain pattern of bets and games, players could confuse the machine and trigger an error that pays out the jackpot.

Many slots cheats have benefited from it over the years, but now many jackpot winners are also being denied their winnings as a result.

The most famous incident happened in 2015 when 90-year-old Illinois grandmother Pauline McKee won $41 million playing a Miss Kitty slot machine at the Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo.

She first tried to sue the casino in 2012, but her last appeal was dismissed three years later. Unfortunately historical cases are the reason why the casino wins this case.

Does playing max bet increase odds?

Most of the time, unfortunately, no – there is no benefit to placing a max bet. On most slot machines, the payout ratio for wins will increase equally with the bet you place. If you wager $1 and win $2, a $10 bet would have won $20, just as a $100 bet would have won $200.

What triggers a jackpot on a slot machine?

Slot machines contain random number generators that can generate thousands of numbers per second, each of which is associated with a different combination of symbols. Whether you win or lose is determined by the random number generated in the exact instant you activate each play—if it matches a payline, you win.

Slot machines generally have three or more “reels”, each of which has a row of symbols. While physical slots can have 20 or more symbols per reel, digital technology allows them to do much more – some have 256 virtual symbols – with millions of possible combinations. The combinations of symbols that pay out when you wager on them are called “paylines”.

Slot machines contain random number generators that can generate thousands of numbers per second, each associated with a different combination of symbols. Winning or losing is determined by the random number generated at the precise moment you activate each game – if it matches a payline, you win. Because each spin is independent, random, and independent of previous or future spins, it is impossible to predict what will happen on each game.

February 7, 2022 Giovanni Angioni

Are you trying to figure out how to get better odds on slots but still don’t know which are the best slots to improve your odds? You are not alone.

This article does not list every slot machine tips under the sun.

Instead of focusing on the general tips and tricks you’ll find in all casino guides on the internet, it focuses on proven ways to improve your chances of winning when choosing the games to play.

I’ll also give you some valuable slots tips about the best progressive slots and how choosing a jackpot game can affect your chances of winning.

In other words, if you’re figuring out how to pick a slot and how to find the best slots to play online, you’re going to love this guide.

Must-Play Free-to-Play Slots in 2022

This casino slots guide will transform the way you play slots. And chances are, that’s exactly what you need – because winning at slots takes time, dedication, and the right attitude. So, are you ready to get started and learn how to improve your chances of winning at slots games?

The best online slots to play

Knowing how to pick a slot machine takes more than just guessing when a slot machine will strike. The best slot to play is the one that offers the right combination of volatility, return to player, limits and casino bonus.

Every time you play real money slots you need to look at the payout percentage (or paytable) and the stakes. The only way to improve your slots chances in the long term is to pick a good slot and only play with money you can afford to lose.

Based on their RTP alone, the top 12 slots to win are:

Of all the tricks to winning at slots, finding the best slots is the one secret that the most seasoned players swear by.

That’s because while you can’t win at slots every time, picking a good slot is the best way to improve your chances of winning and let the casino slot’s RTP do the “hard work” for you.

Many casino strategies tell you to stay away from every popular slot machine. These are, they say, the worst payout percentage games of all on the casino floor.

That is not true.

We looked at over 25 types of slots at the best online casino sites in PA and NJ and found that the payout percentage had very little to do with the games popularity.

In fact, we have found that some of the best slots games are popular with real money players precisely because they are machine games that have been featured numerous times on gambling news websites.

Slot machines with the best odds of winning

Figuring out what is the best type of slots to play and how to improve your chances of winning slots is the dream of anyone who engages in online gambling.

The slots with the best odds are the games with the highest Return to Player (RTP). While you can’t be sure of winning at these slots every time you play, and you can’t tell when these slots are ready to play, these are the ones with the best slot odds.

When you go online to play slots for real money or for free, you need to know how to choose good slots games.

Many beginners play casino games thinking that all slot machines are similar, differing only in graphics, features and bonus rounds.

Obviously this is a mistake.

If you want to know how to get better odds at slots, you need a slot that pays more than the rest. And to know which is an excellent slot machine, you need to take care of the return to player percentage.

What is Return to Player (RTP)?

The Return to Player (or RTP) is a percentage of the total wagered money that a slot machine returns to its players.

The RTP is not the amount of money you get back when betting on real money slots and it doesn’t indicate if you have fewer chances of hitting a bonus round or not.

How to find the RTP of a slot machine

The quickest way is to search for it online. If you use google you can type the following command to show all online gambling sites that mention the RTP of the slot type you want to play:

“[SLOT GAME]+RTP”

Many casino news sites that publish content related to casino games have entire sections dedicated to the RTP percentage of the casino slot games they review, so it’s always easy to find the games’ payout percentage.

You can also find them on PokerNews. Every slots review we publish has a section dedicated to the payout percentage, with easy-to-understand information about the games that have frequent payouts and whether or not the slot is a loose slot.

If this is your first time visiting our website, these related articles will help you play slots online. If you choose a good slot machine to play, you improve your odds.

When you play online slots for real money, you can also review the games themselves. The RTP number is always mentioned somewhere. You can usually find it in the slot’s settings or in the “Help” section.

Slot Tips The RTP is calculated on a scale of 1-100. Most slot machines have an RTP between 92-97%. Always choose an online slot with an RTP of 96% or more. This is the best slots strategy to follow on every game – as a high payout percentage indicates you have a better chance of winning a spin.

Progressive slot machines

When you start playing slots online it can be difficult to resist the temptation to play progressive slots.

The big real money prizes make jackpot slots almost attractive…at least on the surface. But if your odds are important to you and you’re on a budget, choosing a progressive slot might not be the right choice for you.

Progressive slots have the lowest RTPs on average when gambling, so you don’t have much of a chance of winning. What’s more, you always have to bet the maximum to get access to the top jackpot prizes – which means you might end up spending more money than you can afford to lose before you even come close to winning .

The list below shows you eight of the most popular slot games with a progressive jackpot. Compare their RTPs to the non-progressive games above and you’ll see why playing for a jackpot isn’t always the best choice.

How to find “loose” slot machines

Everyone would love to play loose slots with the prospect of winning every time the reels spin. While this may not always be possible, all of the games listed below have an above average RTP which results in higher than usual chances of winning.

What is a “loose” slot? When we talk about loose slots, we don’t mean that these are games where you have a better chance of winning money. Simply put, these are games with an RTP of over 96%.

Need help finding a good slot machine? Check out Himalayas: Roof of the World. This entertaining game from Barcrest is the perfect example of a great combination of slick gameplay and good RTP.

Himalayas: roof of the world

PLAYING GAME

How did I find this slot? I scrolled to the bottom of the slots page at one of my favorite online casinos. Once there, I settled on a slot machine that I had never seen before.

Not all games make it to the front pages of online casinos – especially those that feature a combination of volatility and RTP that plays in players’ favor and that come from underdog developers. And Himalayas: Roof of the World comes from Barcrest, a provider that doesn’t often get the spotlight.

Also, Himalayas: Roof of the World offers good odds on slots!. The game has an RTP of 97.75%, which is above average.

Determine the volatility of slot machines

Another critical factor to consider when looking to pick a slot with better odds is the volatility of the game.

Many gaming and gambling news sites refer to the volatility of games as their “variance”. Here at PokerNews we like to call it the “level of risk”.

Slot game volatility measures the risk involved in playing a particular slot for real money. One of my favorite tips for playing slots is to think of it as a “risk factor” in the game you’re about to play. This is because volatility determines how you win at slots.

Low Volatility Slots: Your chances of winning on these slots are high and it is easier to hit winning combinations when you spin the reels. However, you should know that low volatility slots offer smaller wins – therefore your winning combinations may not be worth as much as you would like.

Your chances of winning on these slots are high and it is easier to hit winning combinations when you spin the reels. However, you should know that low volatility slots offer smaller wins – therefore your winning combinations may not be worth as much as you would like. High Volatility Slots: The odds of winning on these games are lower, but the wins pay more. With the right bankroll, slots playing tips, and strategy, these games can be a lot more rewarding.

Both options are very popular online as people play both types. Any useful casino guide will give you plenty of choice to find the right online slot game for you – with welcome bonus codes to try them for free before you invest your money in them.

Choose the slots time that feels right for you. But remember:

To play high volatility slots you need to be patient, have enough money to invest in a long online gaming session and have read enough casino blog posts to know all the secrets of playing slots optimally.

If you don’t tick all the boxes, low volatility slots might be a better option for you.

High volatility slots are also a bit more risky. You never know how much time and money you’ll have to invest to hit a lucky spin and celebrate another day of slots money-making.

How to determine the volatility of a slot machine

Casino sites don’t make game variance as accessible as RTP numbers – and that’s partly because they don’t want to help you improve your odds of winning.

An easy way to select games with the right variance is to use Google operators and let the world’s largest search engine do the work for you.

Here is an example:

You’ve seen some progressive slots with big jackpots, and the Mega Moolah game caught your eye. You’re intrigued by the seven-figure big win, but you don’t know anything about the variance of the game.

The most effective way to find the information you need is:

Open google.com. Type “Mega Moolah variance” into the search bar. Analyze the search results

Alternatively, you can explore the games and try to find out their variance yourself. If you play the same slot long enough, you should be able to see how often the game pays out and what kind of wins you get.

If achievements are rare but significant, you are in a high volatility game. If you win often but the wins are nerve wracking and small, you’ve just found a low volatility game.

A casino bonus like a match deposit bonus or free spins is an excellent way to discover the volatility of a game while playing. These options will help you learn more about the games and give you useful information that might help you understand how to win at slots over the long term.

A popular high volatility slot: King of Atlantis

PLAYING GAME

King of Atlantis is a high volatility slot from IGT. The game is played on five reels and 40 paylines.

Symbols in this game include sea shells, golden rings, jeweled crowns, mermaids, dolphins and the almighty god of the sea – Poseidon.

This high volatility slot doesn’t have many bonus games or features (even if you bet the max). The only “special feature” you get is a round of eight free spins, activated when a trident symbol lands next to Poseidon.

A popular low volatility slot: Hotline

PLAY hotline

Hotline is one of NetEnt’s most popular slots.

To beat the slot you’ll need to travel back in time to the 80’s, wear clothes you wouldn’t be proud of today and use your skills to solve a police case. This Hame is based on the cult TV series Miami Vice and when you hit the slot you have to help the two detectives to catch a jewelry thief.

As this slot’s paytable suggests, Hotline is a low volatility game where wins are frequent but small. If that’s what you’re looking for, choose this slot machine and enjoy the adventure!

Don’t go with the obvious option

No matter how impressive an online casino is, you need to do some research before you start spinning reels if you want any chance of winning at slots.

All casino sites (like all poker sites, let’s face it) want your credit card and money. They offer free spins or deposit bonus codes to get you onto their platform and then let you play as much as possible. In other words, they want your money.

If you can afford to play slots for real money, great. As long as the site you want to play at is a legit and regulated online casino.

Regulators like the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) are working hard to eliminate rogue operators from the online gambling industry.

Your licensing systems are your best allies. All measures in place are there to help you play slots games on sites that use verified random number generators and pay winnings to their players.

An important factor to consider when trying to figure out how to choose a slot is to check if an online casino is licensed by the UKGC and/or the MGA. Regardless of the casino bonus they offer you or the insanely fixed maximum number of free spins they promise.

You should never play online poker or select slots at unlicensed casino sites.

The list of legal casinos varies from country to country or state to state as is the case in the United States. What’s available online in Michigan may not be playable online in California – and legal NJ casino sites are all different from those in Pennsylvania.

On this page you will find a complete list of all online casinos licensed in your country.

Bet higher

Many players try to land their winnings on penny slots, the cheapest slot games in online gambling. If you’re one of them, pay attention to the next slot tips – especially if you think you’ve struck gold the moment you’ve discovered a penny progressive jackpot slot machine.

The strategy on how to improve your chances of winning at penny slots is behind bets larger than $0.01 as these bets usually do not unlock bonus rounds. And if you want to qualify for that jackpot you’re so drawn to, you’ll probably need to place bets on every payline, making your total bet amount to well over a penny.

Conclusion: Any collection of slots tips or casino strategies will tell you that you cannot win a progressive jackpot with a minimum bet. And that’s right.

Top wins are always associated with the maximum bets. When you play slots you can’t become a multi-millionaire with just 0.01. In slots, like video poker, the higher the stake – the more you can win. And at the same time, the smaller the stake, the smaller the winnings.

So, yes: your stake determines how much you win on slots.

Slot machine payouts are proportional to what you bet in the game. If your slot strategy is to play small bets, don’t change it. Just don’t expect to make unreasonably large wins.

As you now understand, betting more money helps you win more at online slots… but it also jeopardizes your slots strategy and risks losing your entire bankroll much faster.

Because of this, higher denomination slots are also more risky than lower denomination slots. People play them the same way and follow the same slot tips…but the big wins only happen on the high denomination slots where you can also risk losing a lot of money.

Always keep this in mind, especially if you enjoy playing slots with progressive jackpots. Jackpot slots can be expensive. With many games, you only have access to the top payouts if you bet the maximum – and that is why proper slots and bankroll strategy are essential to have a chance of winning at slots.

Risk is always a major factor in gambling. And it is always up to you to decide how much you want to risk while playing.

Never gamble with more money than you can afford to lose, and never underestimate the risks of gambling addiction – even when playing fun slots games for free. And if you feel like things are getting out of hand, seek professional help.

An expensive slot to play with max bets: Space Wars

PLAYING GAME

Space Wars is an online slot by NetEnt. This online game is the web version of a classic popular slot that you will find in almost all live casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

When playing Space Wars for real money you can choose between 0.4 (minimum bet) and 20 (maximum bet) per spin. The currency depends on your location.

This game doesn’t have a progressive jackpot, so you don’t really have to bet the maximum every time you spin. Start with smaller bets and move up. You will see the difference in the payouts.

Space Wars is a fast-paced video slot with five reels, four rows and 40 paylines. The payout rate is 96.8%.

Trust other players

This is one of those slot tips that you shouldn’t apply to many other casino games. While it may apply to video poker, you should not follow it if you play online poker, online blackjack, or live dealer games in general

When it comes to playing slots at a live casino, you can trust your fellow players and see how people play.

Use the information available on casino blogs and casino sites to your advantage. Browse forums, spend some time on Reddit, and read what players from Las Vegas and Atlantic City are saying about each game.

You can also join Facebook groups and ask for help there. In other words, use your internet connection before the casino takes advantage of you.

A classic slot that people play and love: Gonzo’s Quest

PLAYING GAME

Gonzo’s Quest was released in 2010 and it still hasn’t lost its place as one of the best online slots. That’s quite an achievement, I would say.

This popular slot features five reels, 20 paylines and an adventurer (Gonzalo ‘Gonzo’ Pizzarro) searching for the lost city of gold.

Players love this little guy and follow his adventures. Gonzo’s Quest is one of the top rated slots of all time by players, casinos and casino critics alike.

Should You Play Branded Slots?

Branded slots are a lot of fun. When you choose a branded slot, play your favorite heroes and spin the reels while feeling a part of the movies, TV series and shows you love.

While these games are great to play, branded slots are also the “bait” that many online casinos use to attract beginners who don’t know how to pick a good slot.

Remember the “not making the obvious choice” point? If you are a huge Game of Thrones fan, how likely is it that you would go straight for the Game of Thrones slots when you see them on the list?

Most likely.

You don’t have to be a psychologist, consumed marketer or casino operator to realize that. Luckily, you don’t have to be a hardcore player to know how to pick a winning slot either.

The developers paid a pretty penny to get the rights to launch slots with popular brands and franchises. So they don’t let you go down with the bets. And those games won’t be the easiest to win either.

While the casino and developer have invested heavily in the names you see on screen, you are the one who can make the investment worthwhile. Or not.

Take advantage of free spins

Finding a good casino bonus is essential to playing slots online – especially if you want to get a little edge. The most common types of bonuses include free spins, extra money that matches your deposit and special offers for returning players.

Most slots bonuses only allow you to play a certain selection of slots for free. All information about which games are part of each offer is included in the Terms and Conditions.

The following five sites are the ones offering the best free bonuses for playing online slots this month:

Don’t forget the wagering requirements!

How can you win at slots with free spins when hundreds of hidden conditions have to be met before you can withdraw your winnings?

Wagering requirements can spoil the fun of playing slots with free spins. There’s no arguing. But there are still free spins bonuses that can be worthwhile.

These are the wager free bonus offers.

A limited number of online casinos give you no deposit free spins upon registration (yes, no deposit required to play). And that without any conditions.

There is no win cap, you can cash out anything you want, whenever you want and there are no wagering requirements. How good is that?

Free Spins Slot: Pyramid Quest For Immortality

PLAYING GAME

Travel the world with slots… and use your free spins welcome bonus as your ticket!

The Pyramid: Quest for Immortality slot features five reels, 720 paylines and an RTP of 96.4%. This game takes you to ancient Egypt and makes you explore the hidden and mystical world of the pharaohs, gods… and of course the pyramids.

Is it better to stop a slot machine?

A lot could be said about the way people play slot machines.

While the lazy type lets their bankroll dwindle while the Auto Play feature does the hard work for them, for the most superstitious it’s all about feathery touches or heavy hits on the spin button.

And – what about the “clever ones”? Those who swear that winning at slots is all about stopping the reels at the right time with the second press of the spin button?

These are the easiest to spot.

They focus on their game like a laser, and their rapid fire of button presses is one of the most repetitive and well-timed moves in the entire casino.

This does not change with online slots either. Although these gamers tend to use up their keyboard’s space bar and their mouse’s left button much faster than any other gamer in the world.

Why do they do that?

These players believe that if you can stop the reels fast enough, you can control the outcome of your spin and decide what combination appears on the screen.

In theory it makes sense.

You press the spin button, see the reels move around the screen, quickly press the spin button again to stop the reel dance once you see a winning combination about to appear.

So is it better to stop a slot machine with a second push of the spin button?

You should not stop a slot machine. Although this may have been a difficult but profitable trick to win on very old slot machines, let me get this straight:

Pausing the reels will not help you take home more cash.

In fact, it could have the opposite effect and lead to bigger losses. When you pause a slot yourself, you decrease the Time of Spin (TOS), which makes the game play faster.

Imagine:

A slot takes about 10 seconds (on average) to complete a spin from start to finish. This is the “Terms of Use”.

If you stop the slot machine, you can reduce the TOS to three seconds.

Depending on the terms of use, a 30 minute session can range from a minimum of 180 spins to a maximum of 600 spins.

How to improve your chances of winning at slot machines

The best way to improve your chances of winning slots is to ask the right questions and look for the right numbers. There are no easy hacks, slots tips or tricks to win at slots.

If you want better odds of winning at slot machines, you must:

Choose the slot machines with high payouts. Choose the slots with the right volatility. Choose the slot machine with the highest return to player licensed online casino site

While this may not be enough to beat slots and pick the winning slot every time you play, it will help you win more often and – more importantly – enjoy playing slots a lot more!

Is it better to play one slot machine or move around?

STATUS: Ultimately, it’s your call – no harm, no foul either way. This is one of those things that tend to get wrapped into beliefs around slots that can encourage people to do one thing or another, but ultimately it won’t matter.

Play The Free Ainsworth Demo Online

Like many website owners, I occasionally look at the data people are looking for when they find my website. A high-level question that I don’t think I’ve ever addressed is a simple one: is it better to play slots or move?

STATUS: Ultimately, it’s your decision – no damage, no foul or anything.

This is one of those things that tends to get bogged down in beliefs around slots that can encourage people to do a thing or another, but ultimately it doesn’t matter. For example, some players will say to move on from a “cold” slot or stick with a “hot” slot when it pays out. (They might say the same thing but call them loose or tight.)

Ultimately, however, all of these definitions relate to what a slot machine has done and not what a slot machine will do. The outcome of the next spin is not determined by what came before it, thanks to the Random Number Generator (RNG). So whether you stick with a machine or really keep going will depend more on what makes you feel good or not.

Gambling is an emotional ride in itself, so if you’re feeling down and want to move on because a game isn’t paying or stick with it because you’re having fun, that’s really your choice. Conversely, this means that you don’t have to get up from a machine that just paid well because it could be paid well again.

The only exception to this is if you keep playing a machine and dump more money into it because it hasn’t paid out and is therefore ‘due’. Because of this RNG, it is no more a hit than the previous one, ten or 100 spins before that. And at that point you get carried away by your emotions, chase losses, and that can be dangerous.

It’s better to set a loss limit and move on if you don’t see a game payout than keep hammering and hoping things change. It certainly could, but it also couldn’t, and that will only be more emotionally damaging.

Can casinos control slot machines?

All gaming commission heavily regulates slot machines. Each slot’s data must be clear to each player such as its return-to-player (RTP) expectations on profits as well as its variance or expected number of wins after a set of spins.

Casinos buy their slots from slot developers who preset the odds and return-to-player rate. But can casinos also control slot machines?

Slot machines are made to make casinos money. For profit, can casinos rig their physical or online slots in a way that keeps you playing while eliminating your chance of a massive payout?

Let’s take a close look at how a casino can rig their slot machines and how you can avoid rigged games.

Can a casino remotely manipulate the odds of a slot machine?

It is technically possible for casino operators to set up a machine in such a way that a player only achieves small winnings. For casinos in major cities where gambling is legal, the question isn’t whether they can rig a slot machine, but whether it’s worth it.

Almost every city or territory where gambling is legal has a Gambling Commission that regulates every slot machine operated in their jurisdiction. Atlantic City has the NJ Casino Control Commission while Las Vegas has the Nevada Gaming Commission. Licensed casinos in different gambling cities must follow strict rules while operating in the region such as:

All gaming commissions regulate slot machines heavily. The data of each slot must be clear for each player, such as: B. its return-to-player (RTP) expectation of wins as well as its variance or expected number of wins after a series of spins. In addition, gambling commissions require all slot machines to use a PRNG (i.e. a pseudo-random number generator) which would produce unpredictable results.

Wondering how to calculate RTP in slots? Just subtract the house edge!

One example is the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s decision to avoid using static seeds. If time is to be the basis of a slot machine’s PRNG, it should represent the milliseconds of a slot machine’s clock, or smaller increments.

Legitimate casinos have little to no reason to rig a physical slot machine just so they can keep profiting and avoid big payouts. Otherwise, licensed casinos risk a hefty fine if they allow a single rigged slot on their floor.

The chances of encountering a rigged slot at outstanding casinos like the MGM Grand, Horseshoe Casinos or The Borgata are incredibly slim. If you come across a slot that seems reluctant with its payout or winnings, always check its RTP and variance rate. Low variance with high RTP often have a small number of wins after multiple spins, but they have incredibly high payouts when you win your bet.

Can a casino remotely manipulate the odds of a slot machine?

Do Online Casinos Control Slots Odds?

PRNG among online slots is the same as physical slot games. On the other hand, most rigged online games don’t need to use a complex algorithm to get players to spend more money. Rogue casinos use gambling software that promises substantial winnings but only spends a small return on big bets.

Luckily, there are online gambling industry regulators who can help players avoid illegitimate casinos. They have the Malta Gaming Authority, the Belgium Gaming Commission and the Curacao regulators overseeing the operation of online casinos in their jurisdictions. Any online player who feels cheated out of their money by a licensed casino can take their complaint to the regulators. Online operators can risk losing their license if regulators find out they are hosting rigged slot games on their site.

Licensed online casino software providers are also required by certain regulatory bodies to submit their games to have their RTP, variance and RNG verified. An example is the Malta Gaming Authority, which requires online slots manufacturers to have their RNG audited and approved by the regulator. Software providers that allow operators or even individuals to gain access to their algorithm and manipulate the slot machines for the benefit of an individual or party can get into legal trouble.

Note that licensed online operators have little incentive to get their players to spend money. Fraudulent casinos, on the other hand, can cheat anyone out of their money and immediately disappear with the money they pocket from visitors to their site.

You can avoid rigged slot machines by looking for online casinos with a license logo located on their website. It’s also worth checking their license by searching for an operator through a specific regulator’s website. Online casino review sites that take player feedback can also help you find legitimately licensed operators.

While there are no surefire ways to enable a player to win at slots every time, there are important strategies to help a player increase their chances!

Slot machines are a way for people to relax or get away from their problems for a day. For these people, winning a little bit all the time is far more important than doubling their bankroll. This article offers several ways to increase the number of wins from your slot session. There is no legal way that will allow a player to win at slots every time – only strategies that will help a player increase his chances!

Note that the tips and strategies we provide you with here are legitimate methods and by no means a way of guaranteeing a win on every spin.

1. Choose slots with high RTP rates

When perusing slot games at online gambling sites or brick-and-mortar casinos, check a title’s RTP stats. Return-to-Player (RTP) is the player’s advantage over the house. Let’s take Betsoft’s Good Girl Bad Girl as an example with 97.8%, a high RTP.

RTP indicates how much a player can expect a slot to be able to return their bet. If you bet $100 on Good Girl Bad Girl with an RTP of 97.8%, you are likely to get back $97.8 after spinning the reels multiple times. Note that the returns are a probability that will occur after a long playing time and are not a guaranteed outcome.

Slots with less than 95% RTP are low range games while medium RTPs have around 95% – 98%. Higher range RTP slots have a rate of 98% – 99% and are likely to offer consistent wins with decent returns. NetEnt’s Mega Joker is a good example of a slot with an RTP rate of 99% that offers a Supermeter mode with incredibly high payouts. Finding the right RTP slots is one of the tricks to winning at casinos.

Wondering how to calculate RTP in slots? Just subtract the house edge!

2. Choose low volatility slots

Another statistic to consider is the volatility of the slot, which you can find along with the RTP rate of the title. Volatility is a measure of a slot’s payout percentage after a set number of spins.

High volatility slots offer the least number of wins for some time, but these also offer the best possible RTP for each win. Medium volatility slots are well-rounded games where you can expect regular wins with a good RTP.

What you want to play are low volatility slots. While offering small returns on your winnings, low volatility slots often reward players with more wins than other games.

An example of a low volatility slot is Microgaming’s Wild Scarabs, which features a payline mechanic with 243 ways to win. Its most popular feature is the Wild Deal, which substitutes for one to four wild symbols on the reel when a non-winning spin occurs while there is a wild symbol on one of the reels.

3. Avoid jackpot slots

While the huge fortune looks attractive, you’ll want to avoid spending your money on progressive jackpot slots. Progressive slots are incredibly volatile due to their massive RTP. Expect a prolonged dry spell when playing this type of slots.

Another problem with jackpot slots is their low payouts for small wins as the RTP on these games is incredibly low. Take Microgaming’s most popular progressive jackpot slot, Mega Moolah, for example, with an RTP of just 88.12%. At this rate, you can only expect a return of $88.12 if you bet $100 on multiple spins. Aside from the jackpot, some features result in a big payout in the normal mode of the game.

Psychologically, progressive jackpots can rob players of the satisfaction of a decent payout as the big prize seems to be within reach. Non-jackpot slots can offer a better experience in terms of payout rates and win consistency.

4. Bonus features and special symbols are helpful

Keep an eye out for the bonus features of a slot machine. Certain slot machines have their biggest payout percentage hidden behind a complex bonus mode that requires matching three or more specific symbols and choosing the right options to get big cash prizes.

You want slots with features that occur randomly and frequently throughout the main game. NetEnt’s Twin Spin slot is an example where two to five reels happen to have identical symbols. High payout percentages are possible when the Twin Reels contain wilds and high paying symbols as the game has a payline feature with 243 ways to win.

Pay attention to the paytable and the number of unique symbols in the game. Ideally you want little to no symbols that only trigger bonus modes in a game and a few pay symbols. Few “Bonus” symbols on the slot machine let you increase the probability of winning every spin. Again, Twin Spin is a good example as all symbols have a payout percentage.

5. Sign up for free spins and casino bonuses

Big online casinos bring new players to their sites by offering welcome casino bonuses. Part of these bonuses include free spins on certain games. Other rewards include deposit bonuses that double or triple your first deposit. Certain casinos also give out no deposit free spins such as B. Fortune Jack where you can get 50 spins just by registering and verifying your account.

Look out for regular promotions between casinos before signing up. For example, some sites offer different bonuses every day of the week. Players can participate in their Free Spins on Wednesday which gives 20 Free Spins for $30 deposit, 80 Free Spins for $80 deposit and 200 Free Spins for $160 deposit.

It is important to note that all deposit bonuses and withdrawals won from the free spins must be wagered multiple times before you can withdraw them. When choosing a casino, check an operator’s terms and conditions for their bonuses to know how much you need to wager your bonuses in order to withdraw them.

Top tips to help you win at slots every time!

6. Study slot machine reviews

Reading and watching slots reviews on various channels can help you choose a slot that will bring you numerous wins on a regular basis. You can find slot reviews on online casino websites or in game directories. Helpful websites, social media groups, online videos and community forums allow users to provide feedback on different titles, giving you more insight into different online slots.

Online videos are another option to consider as they give you a better preview of the slot’s features. Review clips can help you know which games have bonus features that can be triggered during the normal part of the game.

One of the best ways to understand a game better is by playing free online slots. Spinning the reels without worrying about your bankroll makes it easy to learn about the game’s bonus modes and other features. In addition, you can get the satisfaction of winning through the free games.

7. Don’t be superstitious

Rumors of slot machines being loose or short of their money at certain times are not true. A persistent belief in loose slot machines came from wildly imaginative casino patrons who believe that a well-maintained machine will give out payouts like candy.

Online and physical slot machines use a PRNG to determine the outcomes of a player’s spin. Regardless of the time of day, each slot uses the same algorithm to generate a random outcome. It is also important to note that an online casino cannot influence a slot’s PRNG as operators do not have access to the software source code.

Being superstitious by playing online slots at certain times will only dilute your enjoyment of spinning the reels and keep you from winning big at slots. You should only care about playing at legit casinos and avoiding rogue casinos. A good way to do this is to check an online operator’s license and verify their certification by visiting the regulation’s website.

Consistently winning your bets is a form of stress relief among gamblers. By paying attention to a slot machine’s stats and features, and making the most of a casino’s promotion, you can spin long and win.

Do 5 dollar slots pay better?

Look at it this way: It takes 20% of a quarter wager to return the same as 5% of a dollar wager. Also, the slot payback statistics bear this out. For fiscal year 2018 in downtown Las Vegas, penny slots paid back on average 89.15%, nickel slots 93.40%, quarter slots 94.25%, and dollar slots 94.63%.

Regarding the high-limit slots section, the Nevada Gaming Control Board sets the minimum return on slots. Does the same machine in the high limit room pay out the same percentage as the same machine on the general floor? Do the machines in the high-limit room pay out a better, equal, or lower percentage than the machines on the general floor?

A:

It is well known that the higher the denomination of the slot machine, the higher the win percentage. That makes mathematical sense; Because these machines handle a much bigger action, they can be adjusted to a lower grip. Look at it this way: it takes 20% of a bet in a quarter to return the same as 5% of a dollar bet.

The slot payback statistics also confirm this. In fiscal year 2018 in downtown Las Vegas, penny slots paid out an average of 89.15%, nickel slots 93.40%, quarter slots 94.25%, and dollar slots 94.63%.

The same goes for the machines in the high limit rooms. Between March and May 2019, $100 slots nationwide had a 95.69% payback rate.

According to Michael Shackleford, The Wizard of Odds, “The machines in the high-limit areas have higher payout percentages than those on the floor.”

We’d tend to agree, although comparisons are difficult as you won’t find too many $25, $100 or $500 slots in the big casinos.

Can you tell when a slot machine is about to hit the jackpot?

No one looking at the slot machine can predict the number it will choose next. This is why a slot machine can never be said to be “due” to hit a jackpot. It is also why those systems you find on the Internet will never work.

Telling when a machine is “vulnerable” is the holy grail of the slot world

By Frank Legato

It’s one of the most frequently asked questions among slot players: which machines will be hit? Or how do I know when a machine is due? Or which machines are the best to play at the moment?

Not only are these among the most frequently asked questions in letters to this and other gaming magazines; They’re questions asked at slot machines and floor managers in casinos across the country, “Where are the hot machines?”

Despite all that has been written about how the modern slot machine works, the notion still prevails among players that these questions can be answered – that the attendants can give you a hot tip on a machine that’s about to hit; that some outward signs visible on a slot machine may show that a machine is close to a jackpot.

This notion is supported by the plethora of “slot system” junk available on the internet and elsewhere that offers “visual cues” as to when a game is “about to hit”.

The Internet “systems” are all scams, and the notion that machines are “due” is misguided. This is because a slot machine’s computer is constantly selecting new outcomes – outcomes that have nothing to do with what the machine was doing three spins ago, four hours ago, in the past week, or in the past year.

It all boils down to our old friend: the random number generator. Basically, a slot machine’s computer contains a digital duplication of physical reels. Prior to the early 1980’s, the probability of hitting jackpots and their probability on each give spin depended on how many symbols and spaces – known as “stops” – were on each physical reel. The old electromechanical slots had 22 stops on each reel. By logging the symbols that landed on each reel, it was possible to perform calculations that would give you the probability of a jackpot on any given spin.

However, that changed with the computerization of the process. For casinos, the problem with physical stops was that the odds of hitting the highest jackpot could only be as great as the number of stops on each reel would allow. The use of a random number generator allows for “virtual” reels – a computer simulation of reels containing as many symbols as the programmer desires. Numbers in the program represent each stop on each reel. If the programmer wants a low-paying or non-paying symbol — say, a space — to appear more often, it will be duplicated in the program so the random number generator will pick it more often.

So instead of 22 stops per reel, you might have 60 stops, hundreds of stops – as many as the programmer wants while staying within the odds limits set by the state. Because of this, odds can no longer be calculated using a formula involving the number of symbols on physical reels. The 22 symbols visible to the player no longer represent the slot machine probabilities. They indicate the symbols that can lead to combinations, but the player cannot know how many numbers these symbols correspond to. The more of these the computer suspects to be on a reel, the more likely it will be selected by the RNG.

The all important RNG

The random number generator in a slot machine is exactly what the name suggests – it is a software program that generates random numbers from the list of numbers entered to represent each reel stop. The RNG generates more than a hundred sets of numbers every second, and it continuously generates them even when the slot machine is idle. Because of this, every outcome on a slot machine is independent of every other outcome. The random generation of numbers is continuous and no one sitting at a machine can predict which of the numbers the RNG has generated at the moment you press the spin button.

When you hit the spin button, the computer takes a snapshot of the numbers generated by the RNG at that moment and translates them into a reel outcome. Just before you press the button, the RNG will generate a completely different set of numbers; a moment later, another sentence. No one looking at the slot machine can predict what number they will pick next.

Because of this, a slot can never be said to be “due” to hit a jackpot. This is also the reason why the systems you find on the internet will never work.

One system being circulated around the internet is that you can look for “patterns” on the reels of a traditional-style slot machine to get clues as to when the next spin is going to be a jackpot, and adjust your bet accordingly . Another actually asks the player to watch out for wobbles on the reels of a traditional slot machine. Wager a single coin until you see the reels wiggle and then bet the maximum because the wiggle means there is a jackpot coming up.

These gimmicks are all nonsense. No “pattern” made up of symbols in the payout window – for example an “X” made up of bar symbols – indicates what’s coming next. And “wobbly” reels can mean the slot is old and in need of repair, but nothing else. The physical reels are only there to do what the computer tells them to do. They are display mechanisms. They do the same thing as a video screen – tell the player the result that the computer’s RNG came up with.

Tips from companions

Many players still feel that a slots attendant or other ground person who is in one place all day can tell them which machines are “hot” – in other words, which machines will pay out. You toss the employee a tip to identify a hot machine.

It’s a waste of money. Even if a particular machine has paid off all day, that’s no indication that it’ll pay off tonight as well. Slot machine cycles are unpredictable.

The only thing a staff member on the floor can give you is historical information. The only place this historical information can be useful on a slot machine floor is in a progressive bank – one that has been in the same place for a long time. The useful historical information that a member of staff can give you here is how much the progressive jackpot has reached on this game. If it’s significantly higher, other players familiar with the link will play that bank of slots more than normal – the phenomenon of “jackpot fever”. Jackpot Fever pushes more coins through the game. With more changes for one of these machines to generate the winning combination, it is more likely to hit.

More likely, but not guaranteed. And that’s the main part of my message: Even if a progressive course is higher than it’s ever been, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s definitely going to strike any time soon. It could go higher and higher – and wait for your bankroll to run out.

Is it better to play one slot machine or move around?

STATUS: Ultimately, it’s your call – no harm, no foul either way. This is one of those things that tend to get wrapped into beliefs around slots that can encourage people to do one thing or another, but ultimately it won’t matter.

Money Heat Slot Machine – Play Free Ainsworth Slots Online

Money Heat slot machine

This is a vibrant, colorful slot that combines the solid gameplay you would expect from Ainsworth with some interesting variations during the bonus round. As the title suggests, it’s all about getting rich like Warren Buffett – all symbols are related to money in one way or another. There are stacked wilds, scatter wins and even an extra reel during the free spins feature. This makes 6 of a kind possible and also adds multipliers. Like many Ainsworth titles, this is a live slot adapted for online play.

Compared to many slots you will find online, the graphics have a rich, colorful and professional look. The background (frame) of flames and blue behind the reels is nothing out of the ordinary. What I like is the shading and light work on the symbols themselves. These symbols are diverse and include a stack of flaming gold bars, casino chips, dice, and a thick wad of $100 bills. There are also the standard playing card symbols. The dollar symbols (wilds) often take up entire reels, which can land you wins across many of the 50 paylines on each spin.

Audio is largely the standard Ainsworth setup. You will hear the distinctive clanking sound when the reels stop and different tunes will be played for different sized wins. A very bright tune like an old style dance anthem is triggered when you win with the wild symbols.

The big wins in this slot come from the free spins round. There is a special golden dollar symbol on this game that triggers a 6th reel that can significantly increase your winnings.

Setup and Play for Money Heat

As with all Ainsworth slots, you can adjust the number of lines played – but only in pre-selected increments. Money Heat has a maximum of 50 lines. You can choose 40, 25, 10 or 1 if you like. The minimum bet is 2c, so that’s a $1 per spin slot at max lines. The largest bet is 20 cents per line, making $10 the largest spin. Default gamble after win option and autoplay option are available.

Regular symbols are led by the gold bars. These are worth 1000 coins for 5 matches. Next come dice (400 for 5) with chips and dollars are worth 200. The final unique regular symbol is the King playing card, which awards you 150 coins for 5. The standard Ainsworth playing card symbols make up the smaller wins.

There are two more symbols during the standard game. These are the dollar symbol and the Money Heat coin. The dollar is wild and often appears stacked; make multiple wins (especially when you have 50 lines in play). The coin is the scatter which pays 50x your total bet for 5 on the reels. This also triggers the 3+ free spins bonus game.

Money Heat Free Spins Round

What at first looks like a pretty standard free spins bonus game has some outstanding features. These are triggered by a new symbol appearing on the middle reel. This is a “gold dollar”. This symbol is a combination of two things that are always easy to see on the reels. These are wilds and multipliers. If you get a winning combo with this symbol, the multiplier is 2x, 3x or 5x (randomly assigned). This can increase your winnings significantly – and somewhat offsets the smaller regular game wins.

Additionally, a 6th reel appears which has a pattern symbol (this is neutral and does not award any wins) and also gives you the chance to hit more scatters. This means you can get 6 copies of the Money Heat coin, which pays out 250x your total bet.

Finally, you can retrigger this feature during gameplay for 5 extra spins with 3+ scatters.

Money Heat – Conclusion

I have to admit that I like the occasional easy game with big win potential and quite enjoyed this live to online crossover from Ainsworth. The care and attention to production (particularly graphics) is reinforced by the solid gameplay. The extra reel and the golden dollar symbol during the free spins round are the icing on the cake for me. I understand that players with smaller bankrolls often prefer the 25c and 50c games, so the $1 minimum might persuade some people to play elsewhere. I think it’s worth it, and the bigger wins that come from it are very welcome. One recommendation – check out Money Heat for yourself soon.

Money Heat slot machine review

Money Heat is one of the lesser known games in Ainsworth’s online range and in fairness you’d have to have played at Australian land-based casinos for the last few years to really get a feel for it. However, it was deemed popular enough back in 2013 to be quickly added to the company’s online picks, and it’s certainly a worthy inclusion. The combination of fire and money, which might not be advisable in real life, works well in-game, and the inclusion of some great features that more than live up to the graphics makes it a top-notch all-rounder.

If you’ve played other Ainsworth slots online before, you’ll already have a feel for the game, with fifty paylines and a familiar selection of credit bets on offer. Fiery rings surround many of the best symbols on the board, and you’ll be on the lookout for casino chips, gold bars, and the usual playing card symbols to land wins during standard play. There is also a dollar sign wildcard that is used for every other symbol except the scatter. During the bonus round an extra wild is added to the third reel, and any wins you land that use a wild are multiplied an impressive 5 times. The multipliers don’t end there, as an additional mysterious multiplier reel can appear at any time with multipliers of 2x, 3x and even 5x.

Money Heat online slots bonus features

The bonus game itself consists of free spins, of course, which will come as no surprise to any seasoned Ainsworth fan. Gold coins are the choice to represent the scatter and you need to land three or more at once to trigger the bonus game. At this point you will be awarded ten free spins. The same combination within the bonus round itself grants an additional five spins, where you can potentially always benefit from the aforementioned 5x multiplier.

In our opinion Money Heat deserves to be far more popular than it currently is and is a crisp little slot. You can see it in action for yourself by heading to any of the featured casinos at the top of the page, where you can also enjoy tasty bonuses and all the other great Ainsworth online slots currently available.
