ProTeam Mustard & Black Magic
This stuff is great when used the right way.
Bought from my local pull store for about $30. Man this stuff did the job. I’ve been struggling with a dirty cloudy pool for about 3 weeks. I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get it clear as the pH and alkalinity were stable and the chlorine was correct. There was always a layer of yellow “dirt” on the floor and the steps. A quick brushing would stir it up and it would be cloudy again. When I noticed it was stuck to the walls I realized it wasn’t dirt and started my research. I found out I had yellow or mustard algae. A few days later I ran to the pool store to get another product that was “yellowing” but they didn’t have it. They had this instead. I bought it. The girl asked me about the gallons of my pool. I told her 22k. She said use three full caps of the Algease and shocking 6 pounds of shock. Guys, that shock is key. This stuff eats your chlorine. I used 4 gallons of 7.5% bleach instead as I didn’t want to use up as much of my hard to find shock. (F U chlorine deficiency). First thing I did was go into the pool and brush every surface, then through all my equipment, vacuums etc in the pool to be sanitized with it. Around 6:00 PM, after pool is shaded, add 3 capfuls followed by 4 gallons of chlorine bleach. Fast forward to 9am the next morning and phew, crystal clear pool. Backwash the filter and get nasty yellow water for about 2 minutes. color me happy Be sure to monitor your chlorine levels over the next few days, as the sodium bromide in this chemical will continue to eat away at your chlorine.
