Act of repentance My Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true man, my Father and Redeemer, see at Your feet a poor sinner who has tormented Your loving heart so severely. O lovable Jesus, how could I have offended you and filled with bitterness this heart that loves me so and that has spared no effort to obtain my love? How great was my gratitude! But, O my Savior, be comforted, be comforted, I tell you; now I repent to myself, I feel such sadness for the afflictions I have caused you that I would like to die of grief and regret. O my Jesus! who could have made me weep for sin as you wept for it in mortal life! My soul is oppressed because I have offended you. Amen FIRST DAY REFLECTION The Title Our Lady of Perpetual Help Among the innumerable titles by which Christian devotion loves to invoke the Blessed Mother, few can lift our hearts and fill our hearts with boundless confidence like the sweet name of the Mother of everlasting help, a name so pleasing to her. To convince you, consider on the one hand what human life is on earth and on the other hand what the name of Our Lady of Perpetual Help means. Honestly, what is life but a chain of misery, danger, suffering and toil? Who is exempt from sickness or poverty in chronological order? Who doesn’t need to cry? Who, in the spiritual order, knows how to guard at every opportunity from the great calamities of sin, from the snares of lukewarmness, from the flattery of temptations? Who does not falter from time to time in the service of God, in the practice of virtue, and who does not sometimes tire in the way of good? After all, what Christian does not tremble at the thought of the crucial and difficult moment of death, the purifying fire of purgatory? In the face of such hardships and hardships, the soul feels overwhelmed, weak, and would like to burst into tears. But when he hears the sweet name of the Mother of Perpetual Help, he is serene, takes courage, and joyfully continues on his way into eternity. Why? EXERCISE Visiting the image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, reciting ten Hail Marys and offering all your and family needs. PRAYER O Mother of Perpetual Help! For the ingratitude with which I have hitherto repaid Your mercy and that of God, I deserve as just punishment that You deprive me of Your favor; but, O my sweet mother, no matter how great my ingratitude, Your goodness is even greater. Therefore, do not despise helping a poor sinner who confides in you! Your heart overflows with charity to all, and no unfortunate soul has ever been heard of leaving your feet without drying their tears. Don’t forget my misery; intercede for me before the God of goodness, who refuses nothing to you, and prove once more that you are worthy of the sweet name of eternal help. EXAMPLE In the last years of the 15th century, when the Turks were ravaging the Christians of Crete with bloody persecutions, a pious merchant was forced to leave his homeland forever and seek refuge under the skies of Italy. The ship that carried him had scarcely reached the high seas when a fierce storm lashed it, and in a few moments the hurricane tore its sails and the raging waves destroyed its oar. When the crew saw their ship being lost and turned into a toy by the waves, they feared the death that would give the depths of the ocean for their grave. In the fog of this dreadful scene only the merchant of Crete seemed unperturbed. There was courage in his words and confidence glowed in his eyes. And as the anger grew, the pious traveler ran inside the ship, found his luggage, and returned on deck with hopeful sighs, the picture of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in hand. “Behold,” he exclaimed, addressing the tormented crew, “Behold the star of the sea; see the beacon of the seafarers. Let us invoke her in our suffering. She will save us.” As the merchant said these words, he raised the precious image in front of the frightened crew members who knelt around his feet. “Prayers arise from the earth and miracles come down from heaven,” said Saint Augustine. Indeed, no sooner had the travelers cried out to Mary with this mighty cry of faith than the hurricane stopped its winds and the great ocean calmed its waves. The sun coast in the sky and the ship rocked by the gentle breeze proceeded to drop anchor on the beautiful shores of Italy. This was the first miracle that revealed the miraculous image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help before the face of Christianity. She wanted to begin Her favors in a conquered storm, to teach us that in all of life’s anguish, no matter how lost we feel, She will always be our life, our sweetness, and our hope. Amen

Bright ugbe My daughter was booked for kidney surgery and the hospital sent us on and extended the time of her surgery. That went on for months. They eventually went on strike. So I decided to ask my mother from Perpetual Help to either give us money for the private surgery or cancel the hospital strike so we can do the surgery. The strike was called off but the hospital still didn’t and God provided us with the millions we needed to get her into a private hospital. She underwent surgery and came out successfully. God be praised forever. Thanks mom🙏

Emma Hail Mary! Ave Maria! Ave Maria! I started the novena to our Mother of Perpetual Help on May 1st, 2020 in the midst of terrible hardship, which even prevented me from sleeping day and night. The doctor had to administer sleeping pills to even help with any sleep. When the pills ran out on the 5th day of the novena, the problem persisted. On the 8th day of the novena Mother of Perpetual Help appeared & through her mighty intercession God took away the suffering completely, restored me to health mentally and physically and gave sleep to His beloved ones. I am about to get married and wanted to know if it is God’s will that I accept the proposal before me. On the fourth day of my novena, I was encouraged by my confessor to pray about my decision.
