What will you need:

1x CR2032 battery

flathead screwdriver

First step: Pull the silver switch on the back of the device to release the internal key. Next, look at the bottom of the key fob. There is a slot next to the keyhole. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and twist. This separates the two halves of the device.

From here, all you have to do is pry the battery out of its housing with your screwdriver. Be gentle! Take a new CR2032 battery and click it in, positive side down. Finally click the two halves of the device back together. That’s all it takes. Well done!

In this video I show you how to change the internal battery in a Dodge Challenger key fob. This keychain here has been used since 2015 to date. And it only takes one of those CR 2032 batteries. You can buy one of these batteries online. I’ll put a link in the YouTube description to get one on Amazon for just a few bucks.

And then you can just join in, do it yourself at home. It’s really easy. First step, we’re going to flip the thing, find this little switch on the back and you just push it down to remove the internal key. Now we can see click that back in. Now we can see the keyhole, and then underneath it is a small slot that’s meant to open this thing.

We’re going to put a flathead screwdriver in that slot under the keyhole and just gently twist it. And you will feel the two parts fall apart, two halves. Do you see that opening there? Now I’m going to put the tool in this opening and just twist it until the whole thing pops apart. Like, that’s really easy.

From here we can just use our flathead screwdriver to come in from the side and somehow get under the battery and lift it up. It’s about to pop out. I can just pick this up. OK. Now that it pops out, we have our CR 2032.

What will you need:

1x CR2032 battery

First look at the bottom of the device. Note the seam between the two halves of the key fob. Take your flathead screwdriver and gently insert it into the seam, wiggling as you press. Once the tool is in, twist it until the two halves of the device pop open.

Now carefully remove the rubber piece. Next, gently pry the battery out of its housing with your finger or screwdriver. Take a new CR2032 battery and click it in, positive side down. Finally put the rubber buttons back on top and click the front plastic piece back in place. That’s all it takes. You simply changed the battery at home and saved yourself the trip to the dealer.

In this video I show you how to change the internal battery in this Dodge Challenger key fob. This key fob was used on Challengers between 2008 and 2014. And it only takes one of those CR 2032 batteries to run. You can get one of these online for just a few dollars. I’ll put a link in the description to get one on Amazon and then it’s just super easy to join.

Change the battery yourself. You don’t need to pay anyone to do it, just follow. First things first, grab a flat head screwdriver or similar tool and make a note of where this key ring is attached. Can you see I’m going to insert my tool into the seam pretty much right on that corner. There’s this little indentation where the keyhole goes and the stitching.

And we’re just going to push in like that until it’s kind of in there. See, from here we can just twist, twist like a key and we’ll start opening the key fob. Really easy. Doesn’t have to damage anything. Just work your way down through the opening.

Now turn until you feel a kind of click out. And it’s really easy to just take that, put it aside. Now just carefully remove this piece of rubber here. Put that aside and look at that. There’s our battery.

You can just go under it with the flat head screwdriver and pry it right out, because it’s a CR 2032. When you put your battery back in, make sure that positive side is facing down, just like before. And you need to slide it towards that metal component first, bring that down and then click in the other side. Now let’s put everything back together. Gently replace the rubber piece until it sits there, flush without moving, then proceed and click the front of the device back into place.
