The small parts of the spray gun that you remove must also be cleaned individually with thinner. Keep a small container with the thinner handy so you can put it in when you take it off.

Be careful not to use a wire brush to clean parts of your sprayer as they can damage it. The air cap holes are usually clogged with debris, so check those as well. I find that a toothpick or pipe cleaner works best to remove debris from the tiny holes.
