What is sex work?

To avoid criminal charges, it is important to understand how Bill C-36 will affect sex workers and their clients.

What is Bill C-36?

Bill C-36 was introduced in 2014 and had three goals in mind:

Protect sex workers (those who sell sex as a service);

protect communities and children from the harm caused by prostitution; and

Reduce the demand for prostitution by criminalizing the purchase of sex.
