What does it mean to walk in God’s presence?
Walking With God Makes Things Possible
We are here to spread God’s love and light to others and spread the good news that he is our savior. When we walk with God, it may not make things easy but it makes them possible. Walking with him gives us assurance of his presence and power in our lives.
The wonderful blessings of the presence of God – Part – 1 | The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News
Living our life with God in it makes things easier and gives us hope. We may not know it, but walking with God is so much better than walking without Him, and here’s why.
1. Walking with God makes things possible
The Lord never said that our life here on earth would be easy. We’re going to have tough times and we’re going to have our struggles. But our time here on earth will be worth it. We are here to share God’s love and light with others and spread the good news that He is our Savior. Walking with God may not make things easy, but it makes them possible. Walking with him gives us the assurance of his presence and power in our lives. Our God is powerful and with him all things are possible. We can endure trials and heartaches. Because of the resurrection power of Christ within us, we can overcome.
“I also will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be my people” – Leviticus 26:12
2. He is our comfort
The Lord always walks by your side. He goes through every situation with you. He loves and cares for you and will always be by your side. Traveling with Him gives you the comfort of knowing that He is always there for you. He’s always with you when you need someone to lean on and a shoulder to cry on; He is always there with open arms.
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no harm, for you are with me; your staff and your staff comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4
3. He will help you
No matter what you’re going through, God will help you. You can always call him for help. If you are frustrated and angry, give him a call. If you’re upset and feel like you can’t go on anymore, yell at him. He will always be there to pick you up and push you forward.
“For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just like us—yet he has not sinned. Then let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”—Hebrews 4:15-16
4. Going without him is an unnecessary struggle
If we don’t walk with God, we will struggle even more because we are completely on our own. We have to figure things out for ourselves and it’s going to be a lot harder than it should be. God is the light on our way. He will show us the way, but without him we must find our way through the darkness. Why fight when God can guide you?
“When Jesus spoke to the people again, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12

How do you experience God’s presence in your daily life?
See your world through the lens of gratitude
An easy way to celebrate His presence in your life is to find reasons to be grateful. Search for things to be thankful for throughout your day—even if they may seem small and silly at first. Maybe you snagged a great parking space at the store.
The wonderful blessings of the presence of God – Part – 1 | The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News
“In his hand are the depths of the earth; the strength of the hills is his too. The sea is his, and he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.” Psalm 95:4-5
Nature has her own spirit, her own quiet sense of majesty. Take time to celebrate the beauty of God’s wonders that are right at your doorstep. Whether exploring the wilderness of the mountains or simply tending the houseplant on your windowsill, there is grace to be found in every natural creation of God.
Feel His presence as you serve those around you
There are few better ways to find God than through service. As you serve others, you will feel His love and presence and His pride in your desire to help people. This also allows you to share his love with others – they will see his spirit through you.
That might mean working at a soup kitchen or a local homeless shelter — but don’t forget the small, daily charities. You can give little touches throughout the day by helping someone with their groceries or leaving an overwhelmed parent in front of you in line. Small acts of love are the best way to bring God’s light into the lives of others.
Search for his spirit in moments of stillness
The world goes by so fast. With everything from school and work to family and friends, it can often feel like there’s no time to breathe and remember God—but it’s those small, quiet moments when we remember Him the most sense. Allow yourself moments of stillness throughout the day and take the time to seek His presence. You will find that he can be found in the most unexpected places.
“Rejoice forever. Pray without ceasing. In all things give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
What is the presence of God in the Bible?
God’s omnipresence means He is always there—even when the awareness is not. His Holy Spirit indwells believers at all times. God’s manifest presence, however, is something that occurs in our lives as He chooses to reveal Himself. It is something that is sometimes experienced and other times not.
The wonderful blessings of the presence of God – Part – 1 | The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News
Imagine a weary Israelite on the 40-year journey through the wilderness. In the darkness of the night he lifts the flap of his tent, looks up at the pillar of fire in the sky, turns to his wife and says, “It’s okay, God is still with us.”
Think of the disciples in the storm-tossed boat when they saw Jesus coming toward them on the water and heard Him say, “Do not be afraid. Have courage, I am here!” (Matthew 14:27, NLT).
In the wilderness, in a storm, in a burning bush, in a fiery furnace, in the valley of the shadow of death, or in a place called Bethel—God’s presence changes everything.
1. The problem
As students of the Bible, we understand that God is always and everywhere present. Omnipresent is the big word we use to describe this attribute of God. The psalmist affirmed the omnipresence of God: “Where can I go to escape your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? When I go to heaven you’ll be there; when I make my bed in Sheol, you are there” (Ps. 139:7-8).
The problem is this: if God is everywhere, why do I sometimes feel like He is so far away?
At such times it can be helpful to understand the difference between God’s omnipresence and the manifest presence of God. God’s omnipresence means that He is always there – even when consciousness is not. His Holy Spirit dwells in believers at all times. However, God’s manifest presence is something that occurs in our lives when He chooses to reveal Himself. It is something that is sometimes experienced and sometimes not. Well-known examples of the apparent presence of God in Scripture include:
Jacob at Bethel (Genesis 28:15)
Moses at the burning bush (Ex. 3:2-6)
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace (Dan. 3:24-25)
The disciples in the storm (Matthew 14:22-27)
2. The promise
The promise of Scripture is that God is with us always. Nothing changes this fact; only our consciousness changes. God’s promise to Jacob was, “Behold, I am with you…” (Genesis 28:15). Jakob’s answer? “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I knew not” (verse 16, emphasis added). John Piper was certainly right when he said, “God always does 10,000 things in your life, and three of them you may be aware of.”
This promise was made to us: “I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Mt 28:20). “He himself said, ‘I will not forsake you or forsake you'” (Hebrews 13:5).
Believer, don’t let the darkness of the night or the presence of the storm make you doubt whether God is present and working in your life. In fact, the storms of life do not deny His presence, but offer opportunities to prove His presence.
3. The practice
It is important to know the fact of God’s presence; knowing why He is present is even more significant. God is present with us to accomplish his will and purpose in us and through us. He promised Jacob his presence not only to bless Jacob, but that “all the peoples of the earth” would be blessed through him and his seed (Genesis 28:14). Similarly, “God works in you both to will and to work of his good purpose” (Phil. 2:13). He “works in us that which is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever” (Hebrews 13:21).
It is one thing to take comfort in the promise of God’s presence, it is a greater thing to live and walk in His presence, choosing to align ourselves with His purposes. It has been said that the essence of the Christian life is to live one’s whole life conscious of God’s presence, under His authority, and for His glory. This is the life I want.

What is the presence of God in Hebrew?
Shekhina, also spelled Shekhinah, Shechina, or Schechina, (Hebrew: “Dwelling,” or “Presence”), in Jewish theology, the presence of God in the world.
The wonderful blessings of the presence of God – Part – 1 | The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News
In rabbinic literature, the shekhina is associated with several other religious and theological terms. It is said that the Shekhina descended upon the Tabernacle and Solomon’s Temple, although it is also said to be one of the five things lacking in the Second Temple. The glory of God that filled the tabernacle (Exodus 40:34) was viewed as a brightness, and the Shekhina is sometimes conceived similarly.
There is also an affinity between the Shekhina and the Holy Spirit, although the two are not identical. Both denote some form of divine immanence, both are associated with prophecy, both can be lost due to sin, and both are associated with Torah study. Certain medieval theologians viewed the Shekhina as a created entity (the divine “light” or the “glory”) separate from God.

7 Benefits of the Presence of God
As deer thirst for streams of water, so should our souls thirst and yearn to be in God’s presence (Psalm 42:1-2). God created us to live in his presence. We should not allow hurts suffered, trials we endure, sins committed, blessings received, or levels achieved in life to cause us to neglect God’s presence before us to hide from her or to bore us with her. Even when we have sinned, God is waiting with open arms to welcome us into his presence (Luke 15:20-22). Just as a fish cannot survive outside of water and must be in water to thrive, we cannot survive these challenging and uncertain times outside of God’s presence. The more time we spend in His presence, the more we flourish and shine.
Here are 7 reasons why we should spend time with God; we are to abide in Him:
joy in God’s presence.
“In your presence there is joy in abundance; at your right hand are joys forever.” (Psalm 16:11) We receive protection as we dwell in God’s presence. Staying in His presence puts us under His protective shadow.
“He who dwells in the secret of the Most High will remain under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). In his presence we find peace.
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:14). God guides, guides and directs us as we spend time with Him.
“Nevertheless, I am always with you; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me in glory” (Psalm 73:23-24). The fire and power of His presence melts every mountain; every obstacle and obstacle in front of us and every satanic plan for our lives.
“The mountains melt like wax before the Lord” (Psalm 97:5).
“Counsel together, but it will go nowhere; Speak the word, but it will not stand, for God is with us” (Isaiah 8:10). Our fears and insecurities, our pains and burdens are taken away from us when we come into God’s presence.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). We are changed, purified and transformed in His presence. His presence takes away the chaff from our character and makes us better people.
“But we all, with unveiled face, see the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, and are changed into the same image from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Benefits of God’s Presence: Top 15 Proven
Verily, the righteous will praise your name, and the righteous will live in your presence. Psalm 140:13 NIV
Do you know that there are so many great benefits of God’s presence in your life?
Well, you probably said yes. But do you feel his presence all the time, or is he sometimes close and sometimes far?

Without God’s presence we cannot fulfill our purpose. Anything outside of God’s presence leads to struggle and pain. It opens doors for the enemy to take control of our lives.
To understand the presence of God, you must know the three dimensions of God’s presence.
The first is that God is omnipresent, He is everywhere even if you don’t recognize or experience His presence.
The second is God’s indwelling presence. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and God dwells in you.
So God’s presence is always with you. The third dimension is the manifest presence of God. It is when we are aware of the presence of God.
Let’s get ready to discover the great benefits of God’s presence
How to Seek God’s Presence
Our awareness of God’s presence is vital. One can be a believer for many years and still be unaware of the presence of God.
That is why you must seek God’s presence, especially at times when you feel that he is far from you.
So how do you seek your presence?
By spending time alone in prayer
God draws near to us when we draw near to him. Therefore you must pray without ceasing. The more time you spend with God, the more aware you become of His presence.
Regret
Sin prevents us from experiencing the presence of God. When Adam and Eve sinned, they were cast out of God’s presence. (Genesis 3:23)
You might not experience God’s presence because of sin. Please understand that God does not abandon you when you sin, it is you who abandons Him because of guilt.
When you repent, you begin to experience his presence again.
Study the Word of God
To experience the benefits of God’s presence, you must study the scriptures. The Word of God helps us to feel God’s power in our lives. It makes us sensitive to spiritual matters.
So make it a habit to study and meditate on it day and night.

Here are the top fifteen proven benefits of God’s presence
1. God’s presence brings joy
Are you broken? Do you feel like all hope is lost? Are you tired of being happy one minute and sad the next?
Enjoying the Lord will result in a happy and fulfilling life. The joy of the Lord should be your strength. But that is not possible if you are not close to God.
The closer you get to God, the easier it becomes for you to become aware of His presence.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 16:11 that God fills us with joy when we are in his presence.
Live a victorious Christian life
2. Spiritual growth
By being in the presence of God, you can know who He is. You can also see why He loves you so much and your identity in Christ.
When you find yourself stagnating on your spiritual path, spend time in God’s presence. His presence is powerful. It helps us to be made in the image of God and to grow spiritually.
3. Divine Rest
Do you feel restless and tired? Do you feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges? Do you wish that you could get just one quiet moment in your life?
Every child of God was bought at a price that Jesus paid for your rest. A vacation sounds nice, but the truth is that its effects only last for a moment.
Real rest comes from spending time in the presence of God. You just have to enter it daily.
The Word of God invites us to strive to enter into His rest. But how do we do that? By spending time with God and allowing Him to reveal Himself to us.
The presence of God takes every anxious thought and frees us from everything that weighs on our soul. It will cause you to find calm in the midst of difficulties.
4. Freedom from sin
Even though we have given our lives to Christ, we still sin because our flesh is at war with our spirit. We are told in the Word of God that anyone who claims not to sin is a liar.
Sin always leads us to live in condemnation and separates us from God. Understand now that God never abandons us. We are the ones who stop freely relating to Him because of sin.
Just like Adam and Eve, when we live in known sin, we begin to avoid God by hiding from Him.
To ensure that sin has no dominion over us, we must spend time in the presence of God.
Light and darkness cannot coexist; Therefore, when you turn on the light, a room becomes bright.
God is light, and that means when you dwell in his presence, sin becomes impotent and you walk in freedom.
Well, that doesn’t mean you won’t screw it up. But it means you will overcome sin because God will strengthen you inside.
5. It removes unsafe thoughts
When the Spirit of God departed from Saul, an evil spirit entered him. Saul stopped being brave and became very insecure. (1 Samuel 16:14)
You will always feel insecure if you don’t spend time in the presence of God. Being in God’s presence always makes us feel strong and secure.
You will feel safe even when the odds are against you.
6. Wisdom
James wrote that if anyone wants wisdom, they should ask it of God.
So many people are knowledgeable, but few know how to apply the knowledge they have gained in their lives.
wisdom is essential; it allows you to know how to apply your knowledge in different life situations.
Instead of trying so hard to get wisdom your way, go before the presence of God and ask.
7. Peace
Trying to control external circumstances always leaves us exhausted and troubled.
Having the peace of God doesn’t mean you don’t have a problem. You can have peace that surpasses all understanding in the storm.
Peace is the fruit of experiencing God’s love. You can only experience it by spending time in His presence.
When you relax in God’s presence, His peace floods your heart and you can rest.
The truth is that things are not getting any better in this world. If anything, they’re only going to get worse.
Our source of peace should be the Lord. Being in His presence will cause us to be in tune with the Holy Spirit. It is also said to bring peace to our hearts.
8. Trust
You will end up unhappy if you put your hope in people. The same cannot be said of God.
Spending time in His presence opens your eyes to His unconditional love. And that will cause you to become self-confident.
Jesus Christ spent time in His Father’s presence, and because of that He was very confident.
What people said or did to him didn’t make him lose confidence.
Even though the world hated him, he remained confident because he knew God loved him so much.
9. Not giving in to the flesh
A carnal man has his attitude toward the things of this world. While a spiritually minded person has their mind set on God. (Romans 8:5-7)
But here’s the thing; Since we are in a fight, we always fight.
There are times when we are spiritually minded. But sometimes we struggle with carnality, especially when we allow other things to take God’s place.
One of the great benefits of God’s presence is that it causes us to be spiritually minded. And here’s the best part, you won’t turn to the flesh when you become spiritual.
10. Desire to please God
You can’t practice the presence of God and come right out. God’s presence will remove every evil desire from your heart and fill it with desire for God.
We were created to worship God, that is our main purpose in this world. But it’s not something that comes naturally because of sin.
Intention to practice the presence of God will lead to an abundance of desire to please God.
11. Helps us to fulfill our destiny
Before God uses anyone, His presence must be with that person.
We can see this throughout the Bible. Before Saul could become king, the presence of the Lord filled him and he became a changed man.
Peter denied Jesus. But on the day of Pentecost, when the presence of God filled the upper room, Peter was transformed.
He became a courageous preacher who willingly died for his faith in Christ.
The plans that God has for us are usually bigger than us. Only the presence of God can enable us to fulfill these plans.
12. God’s presence gives us divine protection
God promises us in His Word that He will never leave us or leave us. The Bible tells us that God himself will be with us in the fire. This means that God’s presence is very important in our lives because it offers divine protection.
In order for the children of Israel to reach the promised land, they needed God’s protection. God was with them throughout the journey. He was the pillar of fire by night and the pillar of cloud by day.
We can try to protect ourselves, but God’s protection is the best. Our Heavenly Father is everywhere and He knows how to protect us in all our ways.
You don’t have to fear life’s storms when God’s presence is with you. God fights for us and he protects us from every kind of evil.

13. Divine Power
The kingdom of God is not just words.
It is about the demonstration of divine power. But unlike the power of the world where people use influence, money and guns to demonstrate their power.
The divine power of God is felt when we practice the presence of God.
The devil will fight you so hard that you will not have an intimate relationship with God.
Do you know why he’s doing this? Because he knows that a Christian who practices the presence of God is powerful.
He knows that you are not easily influenced by the realm of darkness.
The Bible says the kingdom of heaven faces violence, but it is violent when taken by violence.
That doesn’t mean you should start fighting the devil with physical weapons like guns.
Our weapons of war are found in the presence of God. (Matthew 11:2)
14. Brings healing
We all go through things that leave us wounded. Our past experiences leave us hurt and broken.
Some of this pain cannot be dealt with on your own. We need God’s presence in our lives to free us from the prison of despair and depression.
You cannot spend time in the presence of God and be the same again. It will break any chain of depression holding you back.
15. Maturity and stability
We all desire to become mature Christians. But for that to happen, we must commit ourselves to the things of God.
Being consistent in our relationship with God and constantly spending time in His presence will mature us. It will also cause us to become stable in our faith.
That doesn’t mean we won’t fail, we will from time to time. There will be moments of failure, but those times will cause us to grow and mature in faith.
Finally
We need to consciously spend time in God’s presence. It is only as we spend time with Him that our joy is complete, we grow in faith, and we fulfill our destiny.
God’s presence is everywhere. But it is only when we accept Jesus Christ and practice His presence that we can enjoy the benefits of God’s presence.
Knowing that God is with you and for you will help you triumph over sin. You will walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and become the person God wants you to be.
Whether you feel it or not, God is always with you, so don’t neglect his presence.
To walk in health and freedom, and to experience divine protection, practice the presence of God. His presence will fill you with a desire to please God.
It will also strengthen your faith so that you don’t walk in the flesh. Please share and help others experience the benefits of God’s presence in their lives.

The wonderful blessings of the presence of God – Part – 1 | The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News
The Body of Christ, centered on God’s presence, will at all times live, move, and worship with quiet trust in the Lord. The same applies to every Christian. When you have the presence of Jesus in your life, you will experience divine order. You will have inexplicable peace and tranquility, without fuss or fear, knowing that God is in control! “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we fear not even though the earth changes, And if the mountains are shaken to the heart of the seas; Though its waters roar and churn, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. There is a river whose streams gladden the city of God, the holy place of the Tabernacles of the Most High. God is in their midst; She will not be moved: God will help her, and right away. The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved: he spoke his voice, the earth melted. Jehovah of armies is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.” Selah Psalms 46:1-7. Covet the presence of God in your life because no matter what enemies or trials you face, you will always find peace and tranquility in Him.
In the Bible we find countless examples of how God’s presence enables His children to live for Him. As for Moses, he was convinced that without the presence of God in his life it was useless for him to try to lead God’s people. He said, “…unless your face goes with me, do not carry us up from here” (Exodus 33:15). He said, “Lord, if your presence is not with me, then I’m not going anywhere. I will not take a single step unless I know you are with me!”
Moses knew that it was God’s presence in Israel that set the people apart from all other nations. And the same is true of the church of Jesus Christ today. One of the things that sets us apart from unbelievers is that God is “with us” – guiding us, guiding us, working his will in us and through us. When the Lord’s presence is in our midst, no one can harm us. But without Him we are helpless, reduced to nothing. Therefore, we must long for and trust in the manifestations of the presence of our God. The blessings that God’s presence has brought into the lives of his followers are varied and unique.
God’s presence was so evident in Abraham’s life that even the Gentiles around him saw the difference between their lives and his: “…Abimelech…said unto Abraham, saying, God is with you in whatever you do” (Genesis 21: 22). This pagan king noticed something special about Abraham because God guides, protects and blesses him wherever Abraham went. All of this is included in the package of God’s presence.
God promised Joshua that no enemy could stand against him because his presence was with him: “No one will be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with you : I will not let you down and will not leave you. Be strong and of good cheer…” (Joshua 1:5-6). When God’s Spirit is with us, we can be strong and courageous – because no enemy can touch us.
God told Gideon. “… The Lord is with you, you mighty man… Go in this might of yours, and you will save Israel…” (Judges 6:12, 14). The phrase “your power” in this verse refers to the previous verse – the “the Lord is with you.” Do you see what God says? “Gideon, there is power in you so mighty that it can save Israel. And that power is my presence!” Scripture reveals that Gideon is a coward—so why did God call him a “strong man of valour”? Because he wanted to prove to Gideon what anyone can do when the Lord is with them!
