For years, people have complained about missing matches.
Sometimes losing as much as EVERYONE.
And the causes seem to be different almost every time.

Which you can solve with a simple reboot.
Close and reopen Tinder and tadaa.
Your Tinder match is right where you left them. (For the ladies, please forgive me for only addressing my mostly male audience. Just replace all “her” with “him”.)
Didn’t she show up?
Maybe it’s moved to a different position in your matches list (another Tinder bug).
If your list goes beyond your screen, try scrolling down and looking for its last text.
It may have been pushed all the way down.

3. A trick that can bring your match back
The next trick can bring your match back when you’ve made an embarrassing mistake.
A mistake that is entirely your fault.
You see, if you’re lazy like me, you don’t want to be scrolling through your list of Tinder matches.
If you want to chat with a specific girl, use the search function instead.
So you hold your finger on the match screen until a search bar appears and type the (beginning of) their name.
Let’s say “Carla”.
Tinder will then limit your match screen to all conversations that contain the name Carla.
Make it easy to find them in your Tinder Match junk heap.
But the search bar has a downside!
Which I will show you with a short personal story.
A while ago I hooked up with a particularly funny girl on Tinder.
And one day Tinder showed me that she sent me some messages.
So I open Tinder and find a surprise.
Your messages are nowhere to be found.
Worse, I lost them as a match!
No matter whether I scrolled up or down, I couldn’t find them.
But then I realized what I had done wrong and slapped my face so hard the back of my head blew off.
I’ve left my search bar open since my last Tinder session…
In short, I couldn’t see any convos that didn’t include my search attempt. #mouth breather
So if you can’t find your match, make sure your search bar is empty.

4. Bad news brother
Not only is her Tinder match gone, she’s done something way worse!
She left Tinder.
And I’m not just saying that she deleted the app from her phone.
I mean, she slipped her hand into her profile’s chest cavity and ripped out his mechanical heart.
Your Tinder profile is gone and never coming back.
Unlike my dad who just went to get cigarettes when I was 6 years old. #He’ll be back soon
Anyway, Tinder could handle matches deleting or resetting their account better.
If she decides to pull the plug on her profile, you’ll lose the entire conversation.
It’s like she was never there.
However, Bumble has a better way of handling account deletion.

Almost all bots will try to convince you to click on shady links.
And this is how you will be reported and banned in a few moments.
How do you keep yourself from matching (and believing you have a chance of dating) with bots?

That means it’s a nuclear option.
And I really don’t recommend going nuclear on behalf of a cute girl.
I would only recommend dropping the nuke if you have a valid reason.
Like when you have a new set of epic photos and want to climb the Tinder ranks. (Yes, there is a hidden ranking system on Tinder that gives you a score based on your profile’s success.)
What is the nuclear option anyway?
Probably exactly what you’re thinking: account deletion.
If you delete your account and wait a while before logging back in (after 3 months, Tinder will forget you altogether), you have a good chance of encountering her again.
That means if you use the exact same profile again, there’s a big chance she’ll just swipe you left.
And you won’t get them back as a match.
