Shows like White Collar that fans of police procedures must see

At first glance, White Collar may seem like your average police drama, with a charismatic protagonist working for a government intelligence agency tasked with tracking down the world’s worst criminals. Beneath the surface, however, it has more than a few unique aspects. For viewers who want something more intense, quicker, and more involved than most of the larger franchise shows by the numbers, “White Collar” delivers.

Starring Matt Bomer in his breakout role, the series revolves around Neal Caffrey, a raunchy con man who is finally caught by the FBI after a three-year manhunt. Once in custody, the FBI offers him a deal if he becomes a white-collar whistleblower. Of course, Neal accepts and begins an uncomfortable alliance with FBI Special Agent Tim McKay. But as he works his way through the underworld of white-collar crime for the FBI, he also falls back into his old ways, chasing scams and trying to stay one step ahead of McKay.

“White Collar” runs for five seasons and is one of the most exciting police investigations of its kind that never fails to keep its viewers in suspense. If you’re a fan and looking for something a little different like White Collar then look no further as we’ve compiled a list of the top police procedure shows that fans of the series should queue for next.

GRIMM OVERVIEW

First let me start with the beginning of the Grimm episodes.

“Once upon a time there was a man who lived a life so strange it had to be true. Only he could see what no one else can see – the darkness within, the true monster within, and he is the one who must stop them. This is his calling. That is his duty. That’s the life of a Grimm.”

Does the opening tell you anything about the show?

Well, it tells you a little bit about the character of Grimm, aka Nick Burkhardt.

Luckily I’m here to fill in the blanks for you.

Okay, so Grimm focuses on Nick Burkhardt, who works as a homicide detective with the Portland Oregon Police Department. But this is no ordinary detective.

This guy discovers that he is a descendant of the Grimms – a line of Guardians tasked with protecting humanity from mythological creatures known as wesen.

How cool is that?

I don’t know about you, but I think every police department should have one of these guys!

What do you think?

The cast of Grimm

SPOILER WARNING: If you haven’t watched to the end, some of these cast descriptions could spoil things for you. 😀

David Giuntoli as Nick Burkhardt

An explanation is in order. Posted by Grimm on Wednesday February 15, 2017

Nick is a homicide detective with the Portland Oregon Police Department.

He is a descendant of the Grimms – a line of guardians who protect people from wesen – mythological creatures.

He is married to Adalind Schade, father of Kelly Schade-Burkhardt and stepfather of Diana Schade-Renard.

Want to hear something cool about Nick?

He has a range of powers including superhuman endurance, hearing, perception, reflexes, speed and strength, as well as combat skills and an eidetic memory.

Can you believe one guy can have all the skills?

Who wouldn’t want to have him around all the time? I know I would!

Russell Hornsby as Hank Griffin

Just because Hank is the best. Posted by Grimm on Wednesday May 4th, 2016

Hank is a homicide detective with the Portland Oregon Police Department and Nick’s partner and best friend.

At first he didn’t know about Nick’s secret of being a Grimm, but he discovers his secret in Season 2 Episode 3.

Hank is afraid of mice and rats. Um… doesn’t everyone? Mice and rats make me crawl! Hank is known for being gentle and quiet.

Bitsie Tulloch as Juliette Silverton/Eve

There’s plenty of action coming your way in Grimm’s season 6 premiere, Friday at 8:7c on NBC. Posted by Grimm on Tuesday January 3, 2017

Okay, this character might be a bit confusing, so stick with me here! Juliette (seasons 1-4) is now known as Eve (seasons 5 & 6).

At the end of season four, Juliette is shot dead with a crossbow by Theresa Rubel.

Then, in Season 5, a mysterious woman named Eve appears. Eve doesn’t appear to have any of Juliette’s emotional attachments, but she does have her memories and powers.

Does this make sense?

She is a former vet and current witch beast – a witch-like creature that looks like a corpse. Sounds attractive right?

She is also Nick’s ex-girlfriend.

Silas Weir Mitchell as Monroe

Monroe loses her composure when Rosalee is kidnapped. Don’t miss a new Grimm tomorrow at 9/8c: http://bit.ly/1S4XnGa Posted by Grimm on Thursday 12th November 2015

Monroe is one of Nick’s close friends and a bloodbath – a wolf-like creature.

Boy, this show has some attractive creatures, doesn’t it?

Monroe is married to Rosalee Calvert and together they have triplets.

He’s known for being calm, relaxed, and level-headed…usually!

Sasha Roiz as Sean Renard

Can Renard be trusted with the fate of our city? Posted by Grimm on Sunday April 3, 2016

Sean is the current Captain of the Portland Oregon Police Department and is also a magic beast – a warlock-like creature.

He is fluent in French and Russian.

He is Adalind Schade’s ex-boyfriend and Diana Schade-Renard’s father.

Sean is known for being dignified, regal, and ruthless.

Sounds like a charming guy, right?

Reggie Lee as Drew Wu

“Not only does she wear her clothes, she also wears her fingerprints.” Keep your fingerprints, ladies! Posted by Grimm on Thursday September 1st, 2016

Drew is a police sergeant with the Portland Oregon Police Department and is Sean Renard’s assistant.

In season 5, he was scratched by Eliza Baske – a bloodbather with lycanthropy, a rare genetic mutation – causing him to have primal feelings.

Bree Turner as Rosalee Calvert

Rosalee is a burrow – a fox-like creature.

She is married to Monroe and the mother of her triplets.

She currently works as a pharmacist.

Rosalee is known for being aggressive, assertive, and supportive.

Claire Coffee as Adalind Schade

Let the right one in. Posted by Grimm on Monday February 13, 2017

Adalind is a witch beast who works as an attorney at the law firm of Berman & Rautbort Law.

She is married to Nick, with whom she has a son – Kelly Schade-Burkhardt.

She is also the ex-girlfriend of Sean Renard, with whom she has a daughter – Diana Schade-Renard.

Adalind is known today for being caring, graceful, and even-tempered…but she wasn’t always like that!

12 TV SERIES LIKE GRIMM

Okay, so you’re looking for TV shows like Grimm that have drama, fantasy, and horror elements in them, right?

Look no further because here are some amazing Grimm-like TV shows.

1. Sleepy Cave

Sleepy Hollow, starring Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, is a bit more on the supernatural side than Grimm. But definitely worth a look.

Based on the works of Washington Irving, Crane is revived and brought back to New York’s own Sleepy Hollow.

His mission is to solve a mystery that happened centuries ago.

Unfortunately, one of the main characters left at the end of season 3 and the show lost significant momentum in season 4. She didn’t make it to Season 5.

2. The Gates

Unfortunately, The Gates was canceled after the first season.

Despite this, the series still has a fairly large following of werewolf and vampire lovers. If you happen to be more into succubus, there’s one too!

Find out about the life of Nick Monohan who just moved from Chicago to become the new police chief.

It really doesn’t take long for him (or his family) to find out that their neighbors aren’t the friendliest… or overly human.

Chances are you’ll want to watch all 13 episodes in one sitting.

3. The chap

The Cape is a different show from Grimm.

It lasted 10 episodes, including the two-hour pilot.

Meet Vince Faraday.

He’s just an ordinary detective living in California when he witnesses the brutal assassination of the city’s police chief.

wouldn’t you know

Shortly after Faraday leaves the force (due to what he saw), he is framed for the murder.

In order to clear his name and solve the case, he disappears from the scene and secretly transforms into a superhero named “The Cape”.

4. The listener

Toby Logan is endowed with telepathic powers.

Coincidentally, he’s also a medic. Join Logan as he tries to help the police solve cases and make the world a better place.

How does he do that? It’s really easy.

He only listens to the thoughts of the criminals and the victims.

And did I mention he can also see what each of them saw at the time of the crime? Spooky!

5. The Finder

Another show like Grimm, The Finder is a Bones spin-off.

After suffering brain damage from a war injury, Walter Sherman can find almost anything.

The bad news is this. He is suspicious of anything, let alone a hardcore recluse.

At the same time, he refuses psychiatric treatment because he doesn’t want to lose his “gift”.

If you are a Bones fan this is a must see.

The Finder aired for 13 episodes.

6. Be human

Being Human has all the drama, fantasy and horror elements of Grimm, with a bit of comedy.

It focuses on 3 roommates – Sally Malik, a ghost, Aidan Waite – a vampire, and Josh Levison – a werewolf – trying to live a normal life in Boston, Massachusetts.

Being Human aired for 4 seasons – from 2011 to 2014.

7. Bitten

Bitten has the same elements of drama, fantasy and horror as Grimm.

The series is based on Kelley Armstrong’s 13-volume series Women of the Otherworld.

Bitten aired for 3 seasons – from 2014 to 2016.

8. Lucifer

Lucifer has the same police and supernatural elements as Grimm.

Lucifer was one of my favorite shows and I was heartbroken when it was canceled last month.

Luckily, Netflix picked it up for Season 4!

The series follows Lucifer Morningstar who comes to earth and opens a nightclub in Los Angeles after getting bored with his life as The Devil.

9. Once upon a time

Once Upon a Time is a bit more light-hearted than Grimm but retains the same drama element.

is slightly more light-hearted than Grimm, but contains the same dramatic element. Here is another great TV show that sadly ended recently but had a great streak of 7 seasons.

If you love fairy tales like Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Snow White, you will definitely love Once Upon a Time as the series incorporates characters and elements from different fairy tales and folklore.

The show aired for 7 seasons before being canceled in 2018.

I suggest watching only the first 6 seasons as it is a full story with a conclusion.

For Season 7, they basically “relaunched” the show, and it just didn’t have the same charm.

10. Penny Terrible

Penny Dreadful shares the same dark fantasy, drama, and horror as Grimm.

It features various characters from 19th-century British and Irish Gothic literature, including Count Dracula, Victor Frankenstein and Dr. Henry Jekyll.

1.Ozark (Netflix)

This show can be a bit slow at times, but it’s very intense! The story is a bit crazy but so fascinating. Jason Bateman does a great job in this serious role!

4 seasons – 44 episodes

2. Homecoming (Amazon Prime Video)

Honestly, I only started watching because of Julia Roberts. I personally love her and trust her judgment of the roles she takes on. This show will make you question everything. It’s full of twists and turns. It doesn’t disappoint.

Good intentions. Unpredictable bosses. Growing paranoia. Unforeseen consequences that spiral out of control. Heidi (Julia Roberts) works at Homecoming, a facility that helps soldiers transition into civilian life. Years later, she has started a new life when the Department of Defense questions why she left Homecoming. Heidi realizes that behind the story she is telling herself is a very different story.

1 season – 11 episodes

3. The Wonderful Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime Video)

One of my dear friends recommended this show to me several times. To be honest I didn’t expect to like it. In fact I thought I would give up after 1 episode. Well, that was clearly not the case, because here I recommend it to you. It’s full of laughter, witty humor and great storytelling!

It’s the late 1950s and Miriam “Midge” Maisel has everything she ever wanted – the perfect husband, two kids and a swanky apartment on New York’s Upper West Side.

Her seemingly idyllic life takes a surprising turn when she discovers a hidden talent she never knew she had – stand-up comedy.

This revelation changes her life forever as she embarks on a journey that will take her from her comfortable life on the Upper West Side, through the cafes and nightclubs of Greenwich Village, while making her way through the city’s comedy industry on a trail paves the way that could eventually lead her to a spot on the “Tonight Show” couch.

2 seasons – 20 episodes (2019 season ongoing)

4. Good Girls (Netflix)

LOVE this show so much! I remember wanting to watch it air on TV but completely forgot about it until I saw it on Netflix. Apparently Netflix has picked it up, so another season is coming soon! I can not get enough of this. It’s hilarious, relatable and just plain entertaining.

1 season – 8 episodes (no further seasons or episodes have been announced yet)

7. The Good Place (Netflix)

The Good Place is something I watch when I want to laugh at silly puns. “The Good Place” refers to heaven, but this is not a religious show. It’s a fun look at how we picture heaven, with a few wacky twists and an epic cast!

Four people and their afterlife friend struggle in the afterlife to define what it means to be good.

2 Seasons – 25 Episodes (Season 3 is now airing on TV!)

8. Black Mirror (Netflix)

This show is weird! That’s the first thing I tell anyone before recommending Black Mirror. It’s weird and unique. The show explores social and technological experimentation but is so damn worth watching again.

The funny thing is that every single episode is a new story. If you start watching and thinking, “This isn’t for me,” just skip to the next episode because it’s something new and different. This is one of my absolute favorite shows on Netflix. I can’t wait for the next season!

An anthology series exploring a twisted, high-tech world where mankind’s greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide.

4 seasons – 25 episodes (season 5 coming in 2019)

9. Shameless (Netflix)

If you like vulgar, sexual humor, you’ll love Shameless! This family is as dysfunctional as it gets, but it’s realistic! Drugs, sex, poverty, violence – all these words describe Shameless, so don’t let the kids watch! This is another absolute favorite for me.

Oscar-nominated actor William H. Macy plays Frank Gallagher, a single father of six who spends much of his free time drinking in bars. 13. Make a Killer (Netflix)

Wait, you haven’t seen the most controversial documentary of all time? Making a Murder is an amazing documentary to watch with the family. Filmed over a 10-year period, Steven Avery follows a DNA exonete who finds himself the prime suspect in a grisly new crime amid the uncovering of corruption in local law enforcement.

2 season – 20 episodes

14. Gilmore Girls (Netflix)

This is a show I never thought I would see. Something about it was reminiscent of “Dawson’s Creek” at first glance. It took me about 4 times to get into Gilmore Girls. I watched the first two episodes over and over again until one day I forced myself to sit through another one. From that point on, it’s been weeks of binge-watching. It was literally everything I’ve seen for weeks. Now I’m like the biggest Gilmore Girls fan on the planet. A story about a small town, a mother/daughter in a dreamy relationship and coffee…LOTS of coffee. How could any of this be wrong? It’s just so perfect.

A dramedy about the relationship between a single mother in her 30s and her teenage daughter who lives in Stars Hollow, Connecticut.

15. The Sinner (Netflix)

Holy TWISTS! The Sinner will keep you guessing until the very last second. This show is probably my favorite thriller of all time. It’s brutal and confusing, but so damn captivating. You should pay particular attention to this.

Anthology series exploring how and why ordinary people commit violent crimes.

2 seasons – 16 episodes

16. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix)

I was a huge Sabrina The Teenage Witch fan so what I expected the most was that this would be just like that show. Which didn’t excite me as much as you would think. I was happy to discover that this Netflix original was very different. The dark, serious and mysterious tone is actually very interesting. This was a fun clock for Halloween time!

Shortly before her 16th birthday, Sabrina has to decide between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. Based on the Archie comic.

3 seasons – 28 episodes

17. Evil Genius (Netflix)

If someone asked me for the craziest true crime documentary I’ve ever seen, it would be Evil Genius. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. A man had a bomb strapped around his neck and was sent to rob a bank. But was he really sent or did he make the choice himself? Most importantly, who was involved? Definitely a must!

The extraordinary story of the “Pizza Bomber Heist” and the FBI’s investigation into a bizarre collection of suspects.

4 Episodes (Documentary Miniseries)

18. Schitt’s Creek (Netflix)

I am currently consuming Schitt’s Creek and surprisingly I love it. The humor isn’t as silly as I expected. I really like the story and the characters are so charming in their own weird way. It’s a simple watch while you go about your day!

When wealthy video store magnate Johnny Rose and his family suddenly find themselves broke, they are forced to leave their spoiled lives to regroup in Schitt’s Creek.

4 seasons – 55 episodes (season 5 just aired)

19. American Crime (Netflix)

Similar to American Horror Story, American Crime has a completely different plot each season but the same actors as different characters. I personally loved the American crime series and am sad that it was cancelled. It is definitely worth watching. It’s slow at times and touches on very controversial issues. It’s a great show to watch alone or with your significant other.

20. Fuller House (Netflix)

I grew up in the 90’s so Full House holds a special place in my heart. Besides that, I didn’t know whether to be happy or worried about Fuller House. I gave it a shot anyway and this Netflix original didn’t disappoint! In my opinion even better than full house! I liked it so much that I wrote a whole review about it!

In a sequel to Full House (1987), D.J. Fuller is a mother of three boys and recently widowed. DJ’s sister Stephanie, her best friend Kimmy, and Kimmy’s teenage daughter all move in to help raise their sons. The house is much fuller now.

4 seasons – 57 episodes (no word on another season yet)

21. Dear Whites (Netflix)

I observed this on a whim one night while organizing my room. I had heard great things so thought I’d give it a try. I literally played through the entire season 1 in one night! As I write this, I literally realized that there is another season. I’ll watch this as soon as possible!

At a predominantly white Ivy League college, a diverse group of students struggle with various forms of racial and other forms of discrimination.

2 seasons – 20 episodes (season 3 coming in 2019)

22. Follow This (Netflix)

Oh, what has become of our world? You’ll ask yourself that when you watch Follow This. This show follows reporters as they cover some of the world’s weirdest and craziest trends. A lot of it is really interesting and it’s hard not to keep watching! Each episode is a new topic.

1 season – 20 episodes (no word on another season yet)

23. Manhunt: Unabomber (Netflix)

I saw this show when it aired on TV so I had to wait for every episode but man was it awesome! It’s based on the true events of the Unabomber and will leave you gasping when you see the horrific things this man has done! What a twisted but intelligent individual! Definitely an easy binge!

A detailed look at how an FBI profiler helped track down terrorist Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber.

1 season – 8 episodes

24. Gossip Girl (Netflix)

This is an oldie but a goodie. I say watch a few episodes before I dismiss the idea of watching such a girly show. I was personally hooked after watching the first episode. I’ve seen the series twice!

High school is over for the privileged alumni of an exclusive prep school on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, but Gossip Girl still texts scandals and heartaches. As the graduates begin their futures, with some attending college and others focusing on burgeoning careers, Gossip Girl continues to stir the pot and fuel potential scandals. And still the identity of Gossip Girl remains a mystery.

6 seasons – 121 episodes (a reboot is in talks!)

25. Parenthood (Netflix)

I cried and cried and cried watching Parenthood. This is by far one of the best shows ever made. I highly recommend watching this movie with the whole family, especially if your family is affected by autism in any way!

The four adult Braverman siblings – Adam, Sarah, Crosby and Julia – share the joys, heartaches and headaches of parenthood in their California hometown. As their parents deal with life and marital issues, the four lean on each other as they face the challenges of modern family life in an updated reimagining of the 1989 film of the same name.

6 seasons – 103 episodes (the series ended)

26. Switched at birth (Netflix)

I was surprised at how much I loved Switched at Birt. It seemed geared towards teenagers and tweens, but I found the idea of two daughters being swapped at birth really interesting! The family struggles of theirs made it even more intriguing. It’s a good family show!

Bay Kennish is a teenager who grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother. Teenage girl Daphne Vasquez, who lost her hearing at an early age, was raised by a single mother in a working-class neighborhood. One day, in her high school chemistry class, Bay discovers that her blood type doesn’t match her parents’. Official tests confirm that Bay is not her parents’ biological child. When the Kennish family meets Daphne and her mother Regina, they discover that the girls were switched at birth. The news prompts the Kennishes to allow Regina – who is struggling financially – to allow Daphne and Daphne’s grandmother to stay at their guest house. The two diametrically opposed families struggle to learn how to live together for the sake of the girls, who are trying to find their feet in both the world they know and the new world they are being thrown into.

Callie’s blunt comment about the atypical family resonates with the twins, who are struggling with their own identities. Then the girl discovers a secret that could get Mariana in trouble. Brandon helps Callie navigate high school, but she skips school to see an old friend. Her behavior makes Stef and Lena question her decision to help her.

5 seasons – 104 episodes (the series ended but there is a spin-off now airing on Freeform called Good Trouble)

28. 13 Reasons Why (Netflix)

I read the book 13 Reasons Why as a teenager so the thought of a show was really exciting for me! The show was even better than the book, which never happens. This show talks about serious issues like rape, abuse and suicide so please keep that in mind before you watch. It’s a dramatic series that really touched my heart!

Newcomer Katherine Langford plays Hannah, a young woman who takes her own life. Two weeks after her tragic death, a classmate named Clay finds a mysterious box on his porch. Inside the box is footage of Hannah – who Clay had a crush on – explaining the 13 reasons she decided to commit suicide. If Clay decides to listen to the recordings, he’ll find out if and how he made it onto the list. This complicated and heartbreaking story is told through Clay and Hannah’s dual narrations.

2 seasons – 26 episodes (season 3 coming in 2019)

29. Orange is the New Black (Netflix)

This used to be my favorite show of all time. I can’t really explain why OITNB is so good. It’s full of drugs, sex and violence. Maybe that’s why? Anyway I love it so much. The last season lost me a bit but it’s still worth watching!

Convicted of a decades-old crime of transporting drug money to an ex-girlfriend, the normally law-abiding Piper Chapman is sentenced to a year and a half in prison to face the reality of how life-changing prison can truly be.

7 seasons – 146 episodes (the series has ended)

31. American Horror Story (Netflix)

I’m sure you’ve heard the hype surrounding AHS. It’s the best horror show ever! Each season is a different story, with different characters but the same actors. You can go through the seasons in order (which I recommend) or you can hop around. Don’t watch the food because it can be horrible sometimes haha!

An anthology series revolving around various characters and settings including a house with a murderous past, a madhouse, a coven, a freak show, a hotel, a haunted farmhouse, a cult and the apocalypse.

8 seasons – 89 episodes (new season coming in 2019) – that’s what we know about it so far

32. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix)

Okay, this show is really goofy and goofy, but I find it charming. I love watching this while I’m working or cleaning. It’s not a serious show that requires your full attention.

Rescued by a cult after 15 years, Kimmy Schmidt decides to reclaim her life by venturing to New York, where she experiences everyday life with wide eyes. On a whim, she rents a room from Titus, a gay wannabe Broadway actor who makes ends meet as a Times Square street performer. Together they will make it through whatever life throws at them.

4 seasons – 52 episodes (new season coming on January 25th, 2019)

33. Breaking Bad (Netflix)

Ok, the hype is over. I get it. But if you haven’t seen Breaking Bad, then who are you and what have you really made of your life? This is one of the wildest shows I’ve ever seen! I love how they ended the series! It didn’t take too long. It’s well written!

A high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer turns to manufacturing and selling methamphetamine to help secure his family’s future.

5 seasons – 62 episodes (the series has ended)

34. Mad Men (Netflix)

This was the first show I went to with my husband when we started dating. It wasn’t something I saw on my own because it’s very slow, but I really enjoyed it and recommend it! The characters are easy to like and some are relatable!

A drama about one of New York’s most prestigious advertising agencies in the early 1960s, centered on one of the company’s most mysterious but extremely talented advertising executives, Donald Draper.

7 seasons – 92 episodes (the series has ended)

35. Dexter (Netflix)

Best Serial Killer Show Ever! Life before I met Dexter was way too ordinary. He’s the killer you don’t like to love, but you love him anyway. He’s the “bad guy” you always cheer for. Wait, is he really the bad guy? Check it out and find out! Anyway, he’s an awesome killer and blood spatter analyst! If you need me, I’ll attack Dexter again.

By day, the mild-mannered Dexter is a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Police Department. But at night he’s a serial killer who only goes after other killers.

8 seasons – 96 episodes (the series has ended)

36. Big Little Lies (HBO Go)

I wasn’t expecting to love this show as much as I do, but boy was I hooked on Episode 1. This is a show full of secrets, lies and betrayals!

The seemingly perfect life of upper-class moms at a prestigious elementary school is shattered when a single mom moves to her quaint California beach town.

2 seasons – 14 episodes

37. In the Dark (Netflix)

This is definitely my biggest obsession right now. I can’t stop watching In The Dark on Netflix. Each episode ends with a BIG reveal that will keep you awake for hours. It’s the easiest show to binge watch.

Murphy, a disrespectful, blind woman in her twenties, drifts through life in a drunken haze. She only has two friends – Jess, her understanding roommate, and Tyson, a teenage drug dealer who rescued her from a violent robbery.

On a walk with her guide dog, Pretzel, she stumbles across a body that must belong to Tyson, but disappears before the police arrive. When they seem reluctant to investigate, Murphy clings to the only thing that can hold them together: finding out what happened to her friend.

She decides to solve the murder herself while managing her busy dating life and job at Guiding Hope, a school that trains guide animals for the blind, which she hates.

1 Season, 13 Episodes – Renewed for Season 2 (according to Twitter)

38. Working Moms (Netflix)

If you love quirky, outspoken humor, this show is for you. “Workin’ Moms” is a show that all moms will know. Women will also find these ladies incredibly funny. As far as shows to binge watch on Netflix – this is a must!

Four very different working moms and girlfriends in their 30s try to balance their work, family life and love life in modern day Toronto, Canada.

3 seasons – 39 episodes

39. When They See Us (Netflix)

This true story is absolutely heartbreaking. Unfortunately, it’s also an eye opener. This limited series tells the story of abuse, betrayal, racism and fear. I highly recommend watching it and researching the case.

Five Harlem teenagers are thrown into a nightmare when they are falsely accused of a brutal attack in Central Park. Based on a true story.

Limited Series – 4 episodes

40. Girl Locked Up (Netflix)

This docu-series is definitely one that got me hooked right away. I’m a reality TV queen, so that’s right up my alley. It follows the stories of teenage girls who are imprisoned for various reasons. Some are young mothers and all are girls who have made serious mistakes.

A documentary series about troubled girls who are juvenile delinquents at Madison Juvenile Center

Did White Collar get Cancelled?

White Collar, which starred Bomer as a reformed conman and Tim DeKay as his FBI handler, ended its six-season run at USA in 2014.

TV shows like Pitch

UPDATE: During the White Collar charity cast meetup on the Stars In the House YouTube channel, star Matt Bomer confirmed there are talks of bringing back the popular US drama, although plans are still in the early stages.

“There’s nothing I would wish for more than to be back on set with this group of people,” said Bomer, who organized the reunion. “There are real conversations going on. There seems to be a lot of excitement about this.”

Regarding the series’ comeback, Bomer hinted that things are still up in the air.

“It remains to be seen what form this will take and how it will work and whether all the creative people involved will be able to work it out and implement it. But we are all very optimistic and hopeful.”

People tuning in for the virtual reunion were also treated to a quick impromptu performance from Bomer singing “It Only Takes a Moment” from the musical Hello, Dolly.

PRIOR, WEDNESDAY PM: After a week of back-and-forth on social media between White Collar creator Jeff Eastin and USA Network series cast members hinting at a possible return of the show, Eastin on Wednesday upped the ante and revealed that he and series star Matt Bomer “has a plan” to bring it back.

“Had a great chat with Matt Bomer. We have a plan to bring #WhiteCollar back,” Eastin tweeted Wednesday. “So, as Mozzie might say, ‘To quote Steve Harvey, ‘The dream is free. The Hustle is sold separately.’ It’s time to rush.” Bomer replied, “🧐👍.

News of a potential revival comes as the series crew has been promoting a White Collar charity cast reunion on the Stars In the House YouTube channel.

White Collar, which starred Bomer as a reformed con and Tim DeKay as his FBI handler, ended its six-year run in the US in 2014. I heard there’s no reboot in the works at Fox 21 TV Studios, the successor to White Collar producer Fox TV Studio.

Coming from an outside studio, keeping White Collar on the air was a challenging business proposition, which explains why the series, as well as US Burn Notice, also from FtvS, ended earlier than fans would like and why it should so there hasn’t been a sequel in the vein of what the UCP-produced Psych has accomplished. But there’s still a great affinity for the series at USA, so if there’s ever a reboot, I hear USA Brass would be interested.

The topic of a white collar revival could come up during the cast reunion, which will air live Thursday, May 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Also starring are Bomer (Neal Caffrey), DeKay (Peter Burke), Sharif Atkins (Clinton Jones), Hilarie Burton (Sara Ellis), Willie Garson (Mozzie), Marsha Thomason (Diana Berrigan) and Tiffani Thiessen (Elizabeth Burke). look back on their six seasons on the show in support of The Trevor Project.

Eastin tweeted a photo of one of Neal Caffrey’s fedoras last month, saying, “It’s right here, waiting for you. Time to bring Neal out of retirement…” to which Bomer replied, “Let’s do it!” To this, DeKay tweeted, “I’m on board…for a plane to Paris!” — a nod to how the series was celebrating its sixth in 2014 and last season ended.

Which is better Grimm or supernatural?

I think that both shows are great, but Supernatural is better. Supernatural has a broader range of mythological creatures and I believe it has a better storyline.

Is there a Grimm spinoff?

The spinoff in development from 2018 centering on a female Grimm and carrying on the mythology never moved forward. Regardless of what happens in the future, Hornsby is satisfied with his happily ever after. “We did 123 episodes.

TV shows like Pitch

Russell Hornsby has accumulated impressive credits over an acting career spanning more than 20 years. But it’s the BMF star’s turn as dedicated detective Hank Griffin from NBC’s fantastic hit Grimm, who holds a special place in fans’ hearts. Although the show’s run ended in 2017, Hornsby does come into contact with cast members here and there. He even appeared opposite Claire Coffee (Adalind Schade) in the short-lived Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector.

“It would be great to have some sort of big cast reunion to share stories at Comic-Con or something,” Hornsby said. “I still speak to David [Giuntoli], Sasha [Roiz], everyone here and there. Depending on where we are, we meet for a drink or a birthday party. Six years is a long time to work with anyone in this business, so you become family. No matter where someone is or how long it takes, they will always be family and have a special place in my heart.”

Grimm recently celebrated its 10th anniversary since it first took to the airwaves. In the age of reboots and revivals coupled with the explosion of streaming services like Peacock, many on social media are clamoring for a fairytale return. The spin-off in the 2018 development, centered on a female Grimm and continuing the mythology, never evolved. Regardless of what happens in the future, Hornsby is content with his happy ending.

“We did 123 episodes. I don’t think there’s much more to tell after 100+ episodes,” Hornsby said. “I think the legacy is strong. It still plays heavily in America and overseas. I go all over the world and people recognize me by Grimm. It’s a wonderful legacy. Old and young still love it. I have nothing but respect for it and the time I’ve spent on it. I spent six years of my life in Portland, Oregon, in the freezing cold and rain of that forest. People still have a lot of episodes to watch.”

Hornsby may have left his days of exploring beings behind, but memories of how he felt every day on set remain vivid.

“Everyone came to work with joy in their hearts and an uplifted spirit,” he recalled. “I like to think of actors who live in Never Never Land. We are at a time in our lives when we were in our early to mid 30s and had an innocence about ourselves.

“We found an opportunity to be on a regular series, have a steady job, and make money. Some of us were married. Children didn’t have many. We could just have fun and work. It was a playground. We were still kids having fun and laughing. It was before the real responsibility of being an adult in our lives. It was pure innocence. I want to stick to that.”

Is Grimm worth watching?

Great show with a well written characters and story. Grimm is one of a few shows with realistic characters who are neither perfectly benevolent nor malicious. The lead character is a detective who is sent on a mission by his dying aunt to rid Portland, Oregon of evil people who are actually not completely human.

I was skeptical when I heard about a cop procedural meets fairy tale show. We already have (or used to have) something pretty similar with Supernatural. But while I was in the folk tale class this year, my TA suggested it and gave it good reviews, so I figured why not. And I’m so glad I did.

This show puts a refreshing twist on the stories we all heard from our parents and grandparents. For once, they weren’t spoon fed to us like those colorful stories that always had a nice, neat happy ending. They are dark and menacing and a bit scary, just as they were meant to be when the Brothers Grimm wrote them down in the first collections. The performance of the “monsters” is a great mix of spooky and funny that brings back the nostalgic Buffy fan in me (which makes sense considering David Greenwalt contributed to it). There are some rough spots and the characters need a little more development (more Monroe, please!), but that’s nothing a little time can’t fix. A lot of shows are a bit shaky in those first few episodes and start to gain their stability once they find their voice. Since we’re only down to six episodes, I think things are going pretty well.

As for all the negative feedback from various sources saying it’s not as good as Once Upon A Time, the two are completely different entities. Despite the fairytale connection, they have little in common. Once Upon A Time is to Grimm what Disney is to horror films. They’re not even in the same drama. Not that there’s anything wrong with Once Upon A Time, but constantly comparing the two and debating which is better is a waste of energy and time. Hopefully Grimm can garner a little more favor or reviews with a little less bias in favor of OUAT. Anyway, we have until May to see if these fairy tales have happy endings for everyone.

10 best shows like Pitch (2016)

Mark imdb: 7.7 Genre Melodrama, Drama, Sport Country USA Duration 00:43

Set in the fictional small town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, this teen-driven drama tells the story of two half-brothers who share a last name and nothing else. The brooding worker Lucas is a talented street basketball player, but his skills are only appreciated by his friends at the River Square. Popular, wealthy Nathan basks in the town’s hero worship as the star of his high school team. And both boys are the sons of former college ball player Dan Scott, whose long-ago decision to leave Lucas and his mother Karen will haunt him for a long time as he lives with his wife Deb and their son Nathan. So far, Dan has managed to keep his two sons far apart. But past and present collide sharply when the Tree Hill basketball coach recruits Lucas to his team, much to the chagrin of Nathan and Daddy Dan. And the siblings’ natural rivalry only intensifies when they target the same girl, Peyton Sawyer. The remnants of the past ring far into the future for the residents of Tree Hill, even as a new generation arises. Tree Hill follows the lives and loves of these two brothers, their friends, and family as they navigate through high school, marriage, and finally… adulthood.
