So Google is giving you control of your online identity, at least in theory, which sounds like a very positive development.

The home screen shows today’s data. In this correspondent’s case, 14 items were shown – that included launched Android apps and things we searched Google for – and if you scroll down you can peruse the list ordered by time of use, with the newest items appearing first.

The data for the previous day had 119 items – including Android, Search, Chrome, Now and Ads. Some of my blog readers have asked me about com.android.gallery3d; if it is malware and what to do about it. With that, I decided to write an entire article explaining everything there is to know about it and whether or not you should delete it.

As mentioned above, com.android.gallery3d is the name of the Android Package (APK) for the Gallery app that comes built into your phone.

The package name generally follows the naming convention com.developername.appname, so the developer name android means it was developed by Android.

At Samsung, it follows the same convention, only the developer name is slightly modified, i.e. com.sec.android.gallery3d. The sec means it’s made by Samsung Electronics Co.Ltd. was developed.

Go to settings. Scroll down to Apps. Go to the System apps tab or access it by tapping the ellipses in the top right corner depending on your Android version. Search for com.android.gallery3d or Gallery. On the next screen, tap Activate.

That should re-enable the app and allow you to use it again.

If for some reason you don’t want this, you can always use a third-party gallery app like Google Photos.

2. ‘Sorry, Com.android.gallery3d has stopped.’

Sometimes your Android device can get overwhelmed by the number of apps running in the background and when you try to open it, you get the message “Sorry, the gallery has stopped” or “Sorry, com.android.gallery3d has stopped”. displayed. You can solve this in a number of ways.

1. Clear gallery app cache

To clear your Gallery app cache:

Go to settings. select apps. Go to the System apps tab or access it by tapping the ellipses in the top right corner depending on your Android version. Search for com.android.gallery3d or Gallery. On the next screen, click Storage. Next, tap Clear Cache.

This should clear your cache data and hopefully fix the problem.

2. Reboot device

You can also choose to restart your device. In order to do this:

Press and hold the power button until you see the Restart option. Choose the Reboot option and wait a few seconds for the process to complete.

3. Erase/eject SD card

When the storage space exceeds a certain percentage, your phone starts to fail. If you’re seeing these signs, it might be time to check what you can delete from your SD and internal storage to free up space.

However, in case the SD card is damaged then you should discard it as it can be harmful to the phone. To check if the SD card is corrupt, follow the steps below:

Remove the SD card from your device by opening the SIM tray. Depending on the device, you may need to restart your device. Do this and then open the Gallery app.

If the message goes away, the SD card was the culprit. If not, it might be time to implement the final solution.

4. Factory reset the device

The last solution is to factory reset your phone. This will erase all data on your device including media, contacts and files.

To factory reset your device:

Open settings. Select General. Scroll down to Reset. Select Factory data reset. Confirm your selection and enter your phone PIN or password. Select Clear All to finalize your selection and start the process.

This process may take a while so be patient until your phone is fully reset.

Go to settings. scroll down Under the About phone setting should be the Developer Options tab. click it In the search bar, you can look for the USB debugging option. This will allow you to switch to developer mode.

Now you need to switch to your PC. Here are the steps you need to follow:

Download ADB on your PC. Proceed to extract the ZIP file to a folder of your choice. Once extracted, open the folder. Hold down Shift and double-click an empty space. Click on Open Powershell window here. On the next screen, type adb devices. Proceed to connect your device to the PC. On your phone, type and run the command pm uninstall -k -user 0 com.android.gallery3d.

Wait a few seconds and the app will be uninstalled.
