diagram(BMD) of a beam shows the variation of shear

Definition Of SFD and BMD

What is Share Force?
The algebraic sum of all vertical force acting on the structure is known as shear force. The force acting on it may be toward upward or toward the downward direction. It’s SI unit is Newton (N)
The graphical representation of the shear force is known as SFD (Shear force Diagram)
What is Bending Moment?
The algebraic sum of all moments acting on the structure is known as bending moment. It may be toward a clockwise direction or maybe an anti-clockwise direction. It’s SI unit is Newton-meter (N-m)
The graphical representation of the bending moment is known as BMD (Bending Moment Diagram)

1.Point Load
The load acting on single concentrated load on the structure is known as point load.It’s unit is Newton (N)
2.Uniformly Distributed load (UDL)
The load acting uniformly throughout the structure is known as a uniformly distributed load. It”s unit is N/meter
3.Uniformly Variable load (UVL)
The load acting with constant variation throughout the structure is known as uniformly variable load.
