DTR vs TLC-X

The Air version of the TLC-X has a different $34 tugger body with a hole that’s airtight where the Rod slides through. It also has a different $22 Pusher with an air hole in the middle and a $10 hollow stainless tube instead of a solid aluminum Rod. Plus it about $20 in components that are exclusive to Air (Cuff, Valve, Hose, etc). Air also doesn’t permit the use of Rubber Bands or Springs with the TLC-X since the Rod does not slide easily through the tugger body.So what’s it good for? The TLC-X Air is the only air device that lets you fine-tune the pre-application length to match your ever-increasing slack. The point of this is to let you easily keep a constant part of your skin tube lying at the skinniest part of the device during wear, so that specific part of you can stay neatly puckered for the most natural-looking outcome.-Ron Low
DTR TLC Tugger Results
I have used both the DTR and TLC tugger and certainly prefer using DTR any day. It provides better concealment overall.
I purchased my TLC tugger last year and did not like its design. The thing required straps that went down the legs and provided the best tension only when I stood up. If I sat down, the tension would slacken. Should I have given it more time? I probably should have, but I did not.
I got my DTR early this year. The device is so simple and I can wear it with any outfit, and it did not restrict my social outings just because I was wearing it. I am CI-3, would have wanted better results, but not so worried.
TLC is also not bad, and I will not knock it off my chart just yet, because it works for many and has been known to help several people.
The only problem that I have is that DTR literally uses baby bottle tops to produce the grippers. These cannot handle a lot of tension, and can come off. Believe me, when it comes off, you will swear never to use it again.
