Whiskey Paralyzer
1. Ginger
Ginger can range in flavor from sweet to tangy and makes an excellent whiskey sidekick in many cocktails. Sweet ginger ale and whiskey pair perfectly with a simple whiskey ginger, while light and bold ginger beer brings out the spicy notes of bourbon in a refreshing Kentucky mule. Do you love a fiery kick? Mix in some fresh ginger for a smoky penicillin cocktail.
2. Coca Cola
Whiskey and cola are a classic pairing for a reason: the sweet, earthy caramel flavors of Coca Cola pair perfectly with the vanilla and oaky notes of whiskey. The rum and coke version pairs particularly well with bourbon-style whiskey and is made even better with a squeeze of lime. For a unique twist on the classic cocktail, try the BLACKENED® Coke cocktail recipe.
3. Soda water
Adding soda water to whiskey helps open up the flavor of the spirit, much like adding still water at a whiskey tasting. For lovers of cold, bubbly drinks, this combination is best represented by the classic whiskey and soda highball. Fizzy Seltzer pairs well with heavier whiskey and a squeeze of lemon.
4. Lemon
The lemony note of lemon helps soften the drunkenness of whiskey, making lemon juice, lemonade and lemonade great whiskey mixers. For a great summertime whiskey cocktail, there’s nothing easier or more refreshing than a whiskey lemonade. (For a twist on the classic, try this BLACKENED® Lemonade cocktail recipe.) In winter, no hot toddy is complete without lemon juice and a lemon wheel garnish. No matter the month, a whiskey sour is a safe bet with bright, invigorating lemon juice.
5. Cider
Apple cider complements the oak and caramel notes that are ever present in whiskey and is the perfect whiskey mixer for autumn. While best after a fall hike or a day apple picking, a cider and whiskey cocktail is a great choice for enjoying the sweet side of whiskey year-round.
6. Grapefruit Juice
Like most citrus fruits, grapefruit goes well with whiskey: the tart citrus fruits harmonize wonderfully with the spicy spirit. Try pairing it with a bittersweet grapefruit penicillin, a refreshing brown derby, or a bourbon grapefruit sidecar for brunch. You can even combine classics by making an old-fashioned paloma!
7. Sweet vermouth
Many cocktails rely on a successful combination of whiskey and vermouth, and with good reason. Much like whiskey, vermouth is deeply complex and aromatic. With notes of vanilla, orange and clove, sweet vermouth shines in cocktails like the Boulevardier and the Manhattan and anything with a spicy rye. Dry vermouth has a more herbal, floral profile that works better in cocktails like the Old Pal.
8. Acidic mixture
A combination of sugar, water, lemons and limes, sour mixes form the basis of many cocktails, including the king of sour cocktails, the classic whiskey sour. Acidic mixes can be prepared in advance and make cocktails easier to dose. Store-bought versions can err on the artificially sweet side, so making your own homemade version is the way to go.
9. Cocktail Bitters
Bitter provides flavor, aroma and balance in many whiskey cocktails. They’re like the salt and pepper in whiskey blenders, helping to regulate sweetness and acidity. Look no further than the Old Fashioned for evidence. The classic cocktail consists of nothing but good whiskey, sugar and bitters. Try a BLACKENED® Smoked Old Fashioned for an amusing take on the tried and true cocktail.
10. Amaro
Amaro’s bitter, earthy flavors are a natural complement to whisky, especially those that are sweet. Amaro is a broad category of spirits, so some Amari may work better with whiskey than others. Try light to medium Amari with Rye Whiskey and Dark Cocoa Amari with Bourbon. For a spin in a Manhattan, try swapping vermouth for an Amaro Averna.

How many people can get the paralyzer?
Obtaining the Paralyzer:
The Paralyzer can be obtained randomly from the Mystery Box. Only one player may have the Paralyzer at a time.

After the first week since Buried’s release, it seemed like the Paralyzer was severely underutilized. It’s one of two very powerful new wonder weapons in Buried. It has two main abilities. The first is the obvious ability, it “freezes” or paralyzes its targets. The second is that it allows players to “fly”.
With abilities like this, the start of each game will slow down and turn into an insane rush for the Mystery Box.
This guide explains:

Weapon Attributes
Attributes The Paralyzer The Petrifier Magazine Size Unlimited Unlimited Full Ammo – – Rate of Fire Continuous Stream Continuous Stream
Both the Paralyze and Petrify shoot a continuous stream or beam.
There is a counter on the gun that moves as you shoot the gun.
If the counter reaches 115, the weapon will not fire.
The gun will start counting down if you don’t fire it.
It also counts down after switching weapons.

The paralyze ability
The paralyzer’s main purpose is to paralyze or freeze its target. This weapon is effective against zombies, ghosts, and the giant. I’m not sure why you would want to freeze the giant, but this weapon can do it. Firing the weapon projects a beam with a wide spray.
Effects of Paralyzer:
Zombies will instantly slow down.
If shot for a long period of time, they will stop moving completely.
If you keep shooting at the zombies, they will eventually explode.
A player can kill the zombie while paralyzed. But the zombie will not fall until the Paralyzer wears off.
You can tell if a zombie is dead by its frozen eyes. If they’re still blue, they’re just frozen.
The ability to fly
When you first use this weapon, it can feel like a rocket is about to launch and then crash. It takes some practice to walk across the map over obstacles and then land smoothly without taking damage, but it’s doable.
How to fly:
Point the gun at the ground.
Start recording a continuous stream.
Press your jump button.
How to control the flight:
If you point the gun down and hold the trigger, you’ll keep going until you hit something or hit 115 on the counter.
Easily change the angle of your weapon when you take off. There is a “sweet spot” that allows you to hover and move forward without going up.
Change it a little further to descend gradually. Too big a change will result in a quick fall.
You can also switch from a continuous stream to bursts to descend.
Use a combination of angles and power surges to quickly move through the map.
How effective can it be?
Once you’ve mastered it, you’ll be able to quickly move around the map, navigating through holes and around corners.
Example: I was in the maze and the rest of my team went back to the city area. They all went down in front of the Haunted Mansion. I was able to teleport back to the start and go through the tunnel to the front of the manor in time to revive her.

You cannot fly over the walls of the maze, but you can fly over the doors in the maze. Screenshot: Call of Duty, BO2
Using the Paralyzer
The Paralyzer can be effective, but it’s difficult to use. The following list describes different ways to use this weapon.
Paralyze a horde of zombies so you can escape.
Zombies paralyze when approaching a player reviving another player.
Stun zombies to give them time to reload or switch weapons.
Flying over barriers.
Flies on buildings and through windows.
Fly into the tunnels from the urban area.
Fly over the doors in the maze.
Fast travel to a prone player.

What is coke and vodka called?
The Vodka and Coke is a variation on the Rum and Coke, which itself is essentially a Cuba Libre. This 3-ingredient cocktail with lime, cola and rum originated in Cuba in the early 1900’s after Coca Cola was introduced.
Whiskey Paralyzer
Here’s one of the world’s easiest vodka cocktails: vodka and coke! This twist on the classic rum and cola might sound a little lowbrow, but this tried-and-true combination is a real cocktail to add to your collection. Because vodka is fairly tasteless, it can easily be overwhelmed by cola. But add a few quick tips to the best vodka and coke, and it becomes an intriguing cocktail. Of course you can also use the following ratio to serve it directly: No scoring here!
The ratio of vodka and cola
Tip 1 to prepare the best vodka and cola: Use the right ratio! But remember: vodka has a subtle flavor, so it’s almost imperceptible in vodka and cola. In rum and cola or whiskey and cola you taste a lot more like an alcoholic finish. Here is the vodka to cola ratio:
2 ounces of vodka to 4 ounces of coke OR
1 part vodka to 2 parts coke
Muddle lime or lemon to spice it up
Lime juice is absolutely essential in a vodka and cola, otherwise the vodka takes a backseat. What do we recommend? First, crush 2 lime wedges in the glass. This is similar to the technique used in Cuba Libre. The flavor profile calls for a brightness of citrus to reduce the sweetness of the cola! You can also use lemon for a similar effect if that’s all you have.
Tip: Add bitters for more complexity!
We have another tip for the very best vodka and cola. Add cocktail bitters to a few shakes! Cocktail bitters are liqueurs used to add intriguing flavors to cocktails such as a good Old Fashioned or Manhattan. They are made with lots of herbs and spices, adding complexity as the flavors are not easily discernible.
Use whatever kind of bitter you have on hand. The most common type of bitter is Angostura bitters: they’re easy to find online or at a liquor store. They got their name from their manufacturer: the House of Angostura in Trinidad and Tobago. Other popular bitters are orange bitters or Peychaud’s bitters.
Where did the vodka and cola come from?
The Vodka and Coke is a variation on the Rum and Coke, which itself is essentially a Cuba Libre. This 3-ingredient lime, cola and rum cocktail was created in the early 1900’s after the introduction of Coca Cola in Cuba. It became very popular in Cuba, America and around the world.
There are many variations on this concept with many different types of alcohol (below). A vodka with cola is considered fairly unremarkable in the cocktail world, but it’s very popular and a great way to cover up bad alcohol. Or in this case, it makes the alcohol almost imperceptible! But try the tips we mentioned and it becomes a drink in its own right.
Vodka and cola variations
You can make a blank and coke with almost any spirit. In most cases you can use the same ratio as for vodka and cola. Honestly, we think a rum, whiskey or even gin would hold up better to the cola. The red wine variation below is a favorite! These are great ideas for tasty but cheap drinks. Here are a few ideas to get you started – try these:
More great vodka cocktails
If you’re making a cocktail with vodka…there are many more drinks that could be even more interesting than vodka and cola! Consider the following ideas:
What is the paralyzer?
1 part Vodka or Vanilla vodka or Dessert vodka. 1 part Coffee liqueur. 4 parts Cola.
Whiskey Paralyzer
It’s definitely a dessert cocktail—it looks like an ice cream truck and is almost as cute as one. But it’s an enduring classic for a reason; Cola and coffee liqueur are a genius combination, and the cream gives great body to the whole drink.
You could add the cream along with the coffee liqueur and vodka, but we like to serve it on top of the drink, like a big head of foam. Served with a straw, the drink reveals a beautiful gradient of yellow-brown colors when stirred.

What’s a good drink?

Simply put, well drinks are cheap mixed drinks. In fact, the cheapest at the bar. Generally, the drinks are made using the cheapest liquors at the bar (tequila, bourbon, vodka, gin, rum, scotch, whiskey) and some sort of mixer (soda, soda water, and assorted juices).
Wondering why they are called Well Drinks? The term was coined to reflect the space behind the bar where the bartender typically keeps their tools such as assorted spirits, ice and mixers. It’s also the drinks, which are often made in pairs since they’re so frequently ordered.
How to order good drinks
If you go to the bar and ask for something like “rum and coke” or “rye and seven,” you’ve got yourself a good drink. Simply calling for a drink without naming a specific brand of alcohol will usually get you a good drink.
(George Rudy / Shutterstock.com)
On the other side of this coin is a call drink. If you request a specific brand of alcohol or a twist, ask for a very specific drink. For example, if you can ask for a “Crown Royale and seven” instead of “Rye and seven,” you’ll get a call drink.
There is a third type of drink: premium drinks. Asking for premium alcohol (Bacardi, Beefeater, Belvedere) in your drink is the premium way. That’s pretty much all there is to it.
Popular Well drink list
So now that we’ve figured out what the heck a good drink even is, let’s go through some of the most popular ones to order at the bar. We dive into what’s inside them and why they’re worth trying.
1. Rum and Coke

rum
Ice
Coke
Lemon or lime wedge for garnish
This is for sure one of the most well-known great tasting drinks available almost everywhere. It’s the perfect drink for those who don’t like strong drinks and appreciate a good glass of cola. It’s also watered down with ice and you can choose between a shot or two of rum to make it as potent as you like.
2. Long Island Iced Tea
(armano777 / Shutterstock.com)
triple sec

gin
vodka

Coke
Lemon slice for garnish
Okay, yes, this one added what appears to be a huge list of cheap alcohol, but you don’t need very much of it per pitcher or glass of Long Island Iced Tea. About half an ounce of each type of liquor and enough coke to fill the glass gives you just enough for an adult version of iced tea.
3. Vodka tonic
(Pcholik / Shutterstock.com)
vodka
tonic water
Ice
Lime or lemon wedge for garnish
A vodka tonic is another one of those good drinks that doesn’t require a lot of ingredients to make and isn’t very strong. If it’s not to your liking, you needn’t add more than an ounce or two of vodka with some tonic water for a good, easy fountain drink.
4.TomCollins
(Brent Hofacker / Shutterstock.com)
gin
Simple syrup
lemon juice
Soda
Ice

Tom Collins is a sweet and sour blend of simple syrup and a double twist of lemon. A spritz of club soda and ice will dilute it all for you, and just a touch of gin won’t have you coughing up a ton of alcohol. You can also stick a cherry in if you really want an extra sweetness.
5. Screwdriver
(Oksana Mizini / Shutterstock.com)
Ice
orange juice
vodka
Salt
No, it’s not called “Orange…Vod-Juice-Ka” as Michael Scott thought. A screwdriver is a classic fountain drink made with just a hint of vodka and orange juice. There will also be more OJ than vodka, so you don’t have to worry about a super-strong drink. Not to mention the ice waters things down too. Throw in a pinch of salt and you’re good to go.
6. Damn Mary
(Oleksandra Naumenko / Shutterstock.com)
vodka
tomato juice
Worcester sauce
lemon juice
Hot sauce
horseradish
salt and pepper
Celery stick for garnish
Bloody Mary’s are great when you’re looking for something with a kick. You saw these ingredients correctly; Horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and horseradish give this drink the tangy touch needed to combat tomato juice and vodka. A crunchy stick of celery gives you something to munch on that’s not only healthy, but also clings to some of that sweet concoction.
7. Black Russian

A Black Russian is the perfect drink for someone looking for a few brands of alcohol and an ice cube or two. With three simple ingredients, this fountain drink gives you everything you need for a stronger concoction that’s cheap and delicious. Different bars may use different coffee-flavored liquors, but Kahlua is the most commonly chosen brand.
8. Whiskey Sour

Whiskey, simple syrup and lemon is a delicious, sour burst you can indulge in almost any time of year. You can also ask the bartender to change the garnish for your personal taste, and an added cherry makes things extra sweet.
9. Gin and tonic

Lime or lemon wedge for garnish
If vodka isn’t your thing, all you have to do is ask for gin instead. A gin and tonic is literally the same as a vodka and tonic with a different type of alcohol. Mix things up completely by changing your side dishes to suit your tastes (although a gin and tonic is usually served with lime if you order one).
10. Mojito

rum
Soda
Ice

Extremely fine sugar
Fresh mint leaves
Fresh mint, lime, rum, what more could you ask for? Mojitos are also served in tall glasses, so you can sip on that bad boy for a long time. A tablespoon or two of the finest sugar makes this fountain drink the perfect complement for the sweet tooth in all of us. Depending on the production method, the finest sugar is only added to taste.
11. Pina Colada

Pineapple chunks or slices for garnish
If you like pina coladas and get caught in the rain, all you have to do is ask for this little beauty at the bar. Splashes of pineapple juice and coconut cream make this the ideal drink for those looking to relive their summer days. You can garnish this with a pineapple slice or a few chunks, the choice is yours. Some people even add a touch of sugar.
12. Moscow Mule

Ginger ale
vodka
lime juice
Ice
You can ask for this easy fountain drink at the bar, if all you’re looking for is a refreshing ginger beer with vodka then you’re in luck. The Moscow Mule is your one stop shop for an easy mix in a copper mug. The cool thing about this drink is that there are tons of variations to choose from.
Other types of fountain drinks
Of course, while these top 12 are the most popular, that doesn’t mean there aren’t many more to choose from. You can also try to catch these guys:
Greyhound (vodka, grapefruit juice, ice)
(vodka, grapefruit juice, ice) Dirty Shirley (Sprite, grenadine, ice, vodka, cherries for garnish)
(Sprite, grenadine, ice, vodka, cherries for garnish) Madras (vodka, orange juice, cranberry juice, lime wedge for garnish)
(vodka, orange juice, cranberry juice, lime wedge for garnish) Paloma (tequila, grapefruit juice, ice and lime soda)
(tequila, grapefruit juice, ice and lime soda) Mexicola (tequila, ice, lime juice and coke)
The possibilities are practically endless and there are many more than what we have listed here. You can ask the bartender what fountain drinks they serve during happy hour or which ones they recommend based on your tastes. There are many side dishes and variations that you can use with fountain drinks as well, which is why these drinks are so great. Keep in mind that if you make them at home, you can also change the type of alcohol used.

What can you not mix with whiskey?
Rum, tequila and vodka can be great additions in making a delicious cocktail. However, for health reasons, there are other liquids you should not mix with whiskey or any other alcohol. These include energy drinks, cough syrup and extracts.
Whiskey Paralyzer
Whiskey can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or mixed with other beverages in a delicious cocktail. Certain beverages and liquids go well with whiskey. However, other drinks should not be mixed with whiskey, primarily for health reasons.
In this article, we discuss some of the common things whiskey is mixed with and things you shouldn’t mix with whiskey or any other alcohol.
What to mix with whisky
While many purists prefer to drink their whiskey neat or on the rocks, there are many whiskey mixed drinks that are delicious! You can mix things like milk, a variety of juices, and even different types of alcohol like vodka, tequila, and rum. Below are just a few examples.
Does whiskey mix with milk?
Whiskey combined with milk, whether it’s cow’s milk or coconut and almond milk, tastes great. If you don’t like the taste of whiskey itself, there are many cocktails and mixed drinks made with milk that will suit your taste buds better.
There are many great milk and whiskey combo recipes out there, including a whiskey milk punch that contains powdered sugar, whiskey, and milk. Another is called Sneaky Pete Rye Whiskey Cocktail by The Spruce Eats. This contains coffee liqueur, rye whiskey and milk or cream.
Some prefer these combinations to drinking straight whiskey and others just like a creamier tasting drink. Use your best judgment and if the milk separates, do not let yourself or others drink it. Drinking curdled milk can lead to food poisoning and painful stomach and digestive problems, as well as nausea and vomiting.
Which juice goes well with whisky?
Here is a list of the best juices to pair with whiskey. You can mix and match, or add ice and condiments to create something entirely your own. Have fun and experiment with which ones you like, depending on whether you prefer sweet or sour and how strong you want your mixed drink to be.
orange juice
lemon juice
lime juice
strawberry juice
Apple juice
pear juice
cactus juice
pomegranate juice
Passion fruit juice
watermelon juice
cranberry juice
peach juice
grape juice
coconut juice
kiwi juice
tomato juice
cherry juice
Some popular cocktails are Cranberry Whiskey Sour, Pineapple Whiskey Sour, and Apple Whiskey Sour. Another drink is Whiskey Crush, which uses rye whiskey and orange juice.
Can you mix whiskey with syrup and honey?
The simple answer is yes, both syrup, like maple syrup, and honey can be mixed into cocktails that contain whiskey. In some cases you will want to dilute it with warm water in a 1:1 ratio.
For example, you could make a Hanzo Steel that contains Japanese whiskey, diluted honey, amaro, and grapefruit bitters. A Smoked & Salted contains Four Roses Bourbon, Diluted Syrup, and Crude Smoke & Salt Bitters.
Can you mix whiskey with other alcohols?
Yes. You can blend whiskey with different types of alcohol such as rum, vodka and tequila to create unique mixed drinks and extraordinarily delicious flavors. Many recipes involving whiskey cocktails usually call for more than one type of alcohol base.
For example, some martinis may contain both whiskey and vodka, like the Irish martini cocktail. Or The Suburban, which includes rye whiskey, dark rum and port, and bitters. Another drink is called Another Fine Mes and contains whiskey, tequila and orange liqueur.

Some mixed drinks do not require the alcohol to be mixed, but rather layered and sat on top of each other without mixing. This is called stratification.
Layer your drink
If you don’t want the alcohol in your mixed drink to actually mix, but rather layer it, there is a general rule of thumb that will help keep your alcohols separate. First, remember to add your alcohol one shot at a time. Second, remember that the lower the proof of your alcohol, the denser or heavier it is.
So start with the liquid that has the lowest alcohol content and work your way up in alcohol content. Do not try to add two alcohols with the same proof together as they can mix.
Why is whiskey mixed with water?
According to the Washington Post, scientists are trying to explain why adding water makes whiskey taste better. Some scientists theorize that adding water to whiskey could cause more micelles to form, trapping the compounds that don’t taste or smell good.

There’s also another competing theory that suggests that adding water releases molecules that improve flavor.
Many choose to put water in whiskey to make it easier to drink and less likely to cause heartburn, although by doing so you reduce the alcohol’s potency. A willing sacrifice for some reflux sufferers.

How much does water dilute the potency of whiskey?
By adding just 2 ounces of 100 proof whiskey to half an ounce of water, you effectively dilute the drink down to 80 proof alcohol.
That means if you add half an ounce of water to 2 ounces, you dilute the alcohol content by 20%.
What not to mix with whiskey
Above we have listed many things that you can mix with whiskey to make delicious cocktails.
Now we come to things not to mix with whisky. Disclaimer, I am not a doctor but based on the available literature there are certain beverages that you should not mix with whiskey or any other alcohol. The main reason is that it can significantly affect your health. Remember – always drink responsibly!
energy drinks
Moderation is the name of the game with alcohol, but there will always be that college student or heartbroken soul who may not show very much restraint and end up hurting themselves. Mixing alcohol with energy drinks is dangerous, and for good reason, here’s why:
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, when you mix alcohol with an energy drink, the caffeine in the drink masks the natural sedatives in the drink. It will make you feel more alert and alert, and less drunk than you really are.
People who consume energy drinks and alcohol mixed are more likely to drink too much and get alcohol poisoning or drive a car thinking they’re okay because they feel awake, and suffered car accidents as a result. It’s always best to stay away from tranquilizers and stimulants for safety reasons when alcohol is involved.
Cough Syrup
This may not surprise some of you, but cough syrup already contains alcohol and has a known history of abuse. Yes, people have tried this unique combination with whiskey and many other alcoholic beverages.
When added to alcohol, it can cause dizziness and damage your liver at a higher rate. Some studies show that darkening from drinking is higher if you consume alcohol after using cough syrup or mixing the cough syrup into your drink.
Vanilla extract, baker’s orange, or any amount of extract
It may sound weird to think that people out there drink vanilla extract and several other baking extracts for their alcohol content, but it can happen and is extremely dangerous.
When ingested in extremely large amounts, the ethanol in vanilla extract can and does cause central nervous system depression, which can lead to difficulty breathing. For asthmatics, it could be the death sentence. Extract abusers have dilated pupils, red skin, digestive problems, and can dramatically lower your blood pressure, causing dizziness and fatigue, and possibly even fainting and/or fainting spells.
You can even suffer from hypothermia if you cannot regulate your own body temperature or feel hot from the alcohol-like effects and undress in cold temperatures. Therefore, extracts mixed with conventional alcohol such as whiskey can very easily lead to alcohol poisoning.
Please drink responsibly!

What is the name of whiskey and orange juice?
Whiskey and Orange Juice is better known as “Stone Sour” or “Whiskey OJ”. Typically, a sour is a drink that contains alcohol, lemon/lime/orange juice, and a sweetener.
The most popular sour is a whiskey sour, which mixes whiskey, lemon juice, a sweetener, and sometimes egg whites. However, modern variations have many different names.
For example, if you substitute orange juice for the lemon juice, you end up with an Orange Whiskey Sour, as most bartenders would call this drink.
This drink is not to be confused with a screwdriver; his close cousin using vodka instead of whiskey.

What juices go well with whiskey?
1. Orange Juice
Orange juice is a great addition to whiskey due to its natural sweetness, which somewhat softens the alcohol. Orange juice generally complements bitter alcohol for its sugary notes.
If you’re using a very sweet orange juice, you may not need to add any sweetener at all.
2. Lemon Juice
The original whiskey sour reached popular heights in the 1860s with its simple lemon and whiskey duet.
Lemon juice adds a zesty vibrancy to whiskey, making a drink that ultimately serves bold, whimsical flavors.
3. Lime Juice
Lime juice is similar to lemon juice in that it pairs well with whiskey, adding some delicate citrus notes. The flavor theme remains the same, with a vibrancy that rounds off a vibrant Lime Whiskey Sour.
Is whiskey and orange juice healthy?
Since alcoholic beverages contain alcohol and a lot of sugar, they are not considered healthy. However, there are ways to make them healthier than traditional drinks, some of which we’ve used in this drink.
1. Less alcohol
You can make any cocktail healthier by following USDA guidelines to avoid excess alcohol consumption. These guidelines suggest limiting spirits intake to 1.5 fluid ounces/day, beer to 12 fluid ounces/day, and wine to 5 fluid ounces/day.
Drinking large amounts of alcohol can cause side effects. Over the long term, it can lead to fat accumulation, inflammation, and eventually liver disease.
This drink contains 56% of the daily alcohol limit per serving, which is well within the guideline. A drink or two of this classic cocktail is enough to enjoy while eating healthy.
2. Less sugar
According to USDA guidelines, the daily limit for added sugars should be less than 10 percent of total calories in a day. Maple syrup in this whiskey orange juice provides just 1.3% of the total calories of a 2,000 calorie diet in each serving.
By sticking to these amounts, you can enjoy this drink without the risk of piling on excess calories.
How to Make a Whiskey Sour
Start by choosing the ingredients. Freshly squeezed orange juice adds the refreshing element that brings a light touch to the whiskey cocktail.
Rub the lemon wedge around the rim of the glasses. Turn the jar upside down and roll in powdered sugar. Turn the jar upright again. In a large pitcher, combine whiskey, orange juice, and maple syrup. Stir until everything is well mixed.
Pour into chilled glasses. Garnish with mint leaves before serving.
Calories in Whiskey Orange Juice
This whiskey orange juice contains 114 calories per serving. A traditional orange sour can contain up to 220 calories per serving, almost twice the amount found in this drink.
You can further reduce overall calories by reducing the amount of maple syrup and whiskey in this drink.
With this recipe, you don’t have to be strict about the amounts as you reduce the ingredients. Just scale back and try until you find the perfect drink for you.
How long does whiskey orange juice keep?
This drink will keep in the fridge for up to three days. Freshly squeezed orange juice does not contain any preservatives that extend its shelf life.
Remember to keep it in an airtight container and always keep it refrigerated, making sure it doesn’t sit at room temperature for more than two hours.
You can also keep this drink in the freezer for a long time. Transfer to a freezer-safe container, remembering to leave an inch of space at the top to allow for expansion.

Whiskey Paralyzer
In 16th-century Scotland, pharmacists sold whiskey as a tonic to slow aging, cure constipation and relieve joint pain. During American Prohibition, doctors prescribed whiskey to treat pneumonia, high blood pressure and tuberculosis.
Today, whiskey comes under a variety of names depending on how it’s made – such as single malt, scotch, bourbon and rye. While it’s more likely to be listed on a bar than on a recipe pad these days, modern research has found evidence that may support some traditional claims that whiskey is good for health.
However, it is well documented that high levels of alcohol can lead to serious health problems. The potential benefits of whiskey are related to its low to moderate consumption.

Whiskey Paralyzer
“Paralyzer” is the lead single from Canadian rock band Finger Eleven’s fourth album, Them vs. You vs. Me. It was released in 2006. Finger Eleven frontman Scott Anderson said that the single differs from the rest of Finger Eleven’s music and has more of a funk rock[2] or dance rock[3] sound. However, the song has also been characterized as alternative rock.[4]
The song received heavy airplay in both the United States and Canada, and was performed live on the March 14, 2007 episode of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and again ten months later on January 9, 2008 as a testament to the single’s longevity -Success. The song surpassed “One Thing” as Finger Eleven’s highest-grossing single.
The single has three versions. One is the original CD version, the other two are radio edit versions in which the line with the word “shitty” is either censored or replaced with “shady”. The song references the band’s earlier hit “One Thing” with the lyric “I should just stay home if one thing really means one”. also quotes the recurring guitar riff “Moving in Stereo” by The Cars.
The song’s style has been compared to (although inspired by) “Take Me Out,” a 2004 single by indie rock band Franz Ferdinand. Finger Eleven occasionally performed “Take Me Out” during the middle of Paralyzer in live performances as part of a medley along with Led Zeppelin’s “Trampled Under Foot” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)”. 5]
The song was featured on the TV series Gossip Girl and Greek. It is also a playable song in Konami’s rhythm game Rock Revolution; Although the game’s producers have stated that all of the songs will be covers, the song is one of two that the game uses the original master recording for (the other being Linkin Park’s “Given Up”). The song is also a playable song in Activision’s rhythm game Band Hero. The song is also on the Rock Band Network and was introduced by Ubisoft as DLC in Rocksmith. The song is also part of the third game in the Guitar Hero On Tour series for the Nintendo DS, Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits.
background [edit]
The song is about feeling uncomfortable in a dance club.[6] Drummer Rich Beddoe said “It’s something the whole band feels”. He added,
You’re always that guy in the corner who feels uncomfortable and just drinks too much and then says something stupid and goes home lonely. (laughs) We all came from that place, and when he [singer Scott Anderson] wrote that song, it was like, ‘Oh, man. It’s so cool that this is finally being said. ‘ … I don’t know if he’s had a particular experience with it, or it just happens every damn time you go to a bar. Obviously there is a big difference between a pub and a club. We belong in a dirty little bar in the corner, drinking. This is our place – where we feel good. A bunch of laser lights and girls dancing to Lil’ Wayne – we’re screwed.[6]
music video[edit]
The video was published on YouTube. It begins with a walking man who begins to alternate his steps with dance moves. He looks in window and in the reflection he sees himself with dancers around him but when he turns around he sees a woman. The two begin to dance, with the symbolic dancers returning in larger numbers each time the chorus is repeated. The video alternates between shots of the band playing on a rooftop overlooking the dancers on what appears to be a deserted street.
The video peaked at number eight on VH1’s weekly VSpot Top 20 countdown. It ranked #23 in the channel’s Top 40 Videos of 2007, despite only spending a week (at the time) on its weekly Top 20 countdown.
Chart performance [ edit ]
“Paralyzer” debuted at number 97 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in June 2007.[7] It slowly gained airplay and digital sales over the months. For the chart week of November 24, 2007 (over six months after the song’s release), it became the band’s first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, rising from number 14 to number 10. The song then peaked over a month later at number six on the Hot 100 for the chart week of January 5, 2008. The song became the band’s first number one on the Mainstream Rock and Alternative charts. It also became their second top five song on the Alternative Chart after “One Thing”, which had peaked at number five, and it later tied 30 Seconds with Mars “The Kill (Bury Me)” and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus ” Face Down” for the record of spending the most weeks on this chart (52 weeks). The record has since been broken by Rise Against’s “Saviour”. It also had great success on the Billboard Adult Top 40, eventually peaking at number three, their second Top 3 song on that chart after “One Thing”, which had peaked at number two. It also peaked at number one on his recurring chart. The song surpassed three million digital downloads in the United States at the end of December 2010[8] and as of January 2015 the song has sold 3.4 million copies in the US[9]
The track peaked at number 12 on the Australian Singles Chart based on downloads alone; an amazing feat considering eighty percent of single sales come from physical releases. “Paralyzer” is one of the band’s most successful hits. At the end of the year, the single ranked No. 58 of the year in Australia.
The single was certified double platinum by the RIAA (2,457,058 downloads).[10]
The song became the band’s second number one on the Canadian Singles Chart after 2003’s “One Thing”. It also performed well on the Canadian Hot 100, peaking at number three. The song later debuted at number 10 on New Zealand’s RIANZ chart in February 2008, becoming the band’s first charting song there. It climbed to number seven the following week.
