First, why is my hair falling out?

Fusco says that when a hair falls out, something called miniaturization takes place at the follicular level. “Miniaturization refers to the slow shrinking of the hair follicle and the reduction in the amount of hair it contains until eventually the follicle no longer exists,” she says. “The remaining tiny hairs fall out and nothing grows back.” She says this is often genetic and caused by a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is a byproduct of testosterone. 1. Maintain a balanced pH of the scalp.
