Conducting an anonymous question
Before you begin, there is one thing you need to know right away. The Tumblr blog you will be interacting with must have the Ask feature enabled in order for people to use it – the feature is disabled by default, so don’t expect every blog to have it enabled.
And even then, the blog must also have anonymous requests enabled. Normally, any admin who has questions enabled also takes this extra step to enable anonymous questions – but again, don’t be surprised if that’s not the case.
On the desktop
If you’re using a browser, Tumblr allows you to access the question box in three different ways. The first method requires you to be logged into your Tumblr account, while the other two methods don’t – unless you encounter Tumblr’s Safe Mode limitation, in which case you will need to log in.
From your Tumblr dashboard, click on a blog, either from your list of followed Tumblrs or from the search results. This should launch the blog in a dedicated section of the page. Then all you have to do is click the message icon at the top of the window. In the context menu that appears, click Ask a question.
Alternatively, when visiting a blog directly, you can click the Ask Me Anything option under the Tumblr user avatar.
Or you can add /ask to the end of a blog URL to launch the question box.

Also, you need to keep the question under 500 characters – the question box doesn’t provide a way to determine how far along you are until you’ve used all available characters, so make sure you get straight to the point.

While the Tumblr mobile app is pretty intuitive in what it does, that’s really not the case when it comes to making an anonymous request. However, it’s easy once you know how, assuming of course that the blog has anonymous requests enabled in the first place.

Now comes the tricky part. There’s no built-in slider or anything like on desktop, but do you see that little “Public” status label? Just tap on it and you should see the question status change to Anonymous. Of course, nothing changes if anonymous questions are not activated in the blog.
Now all you have to do is formulate your request. Unlike on desktop, the mobile ask box has a nifty character counter to ensure you don’t go overboard. When you’re done, tap ASK to submit your question.

Aside from requiring anonymous requests to be enabled by every blog you want to submit the question to, there are a few other reasons why you might run into trouble submitting your requests.
First, the maximum number of anonymous requests you can send per day is limited to just five. Also, your total request limit is 10 queries per day, but unfortunately that includes your number of anonymous requests.
Second, don’t overdo it with links, emoticons, or line breaks. There is a known issue with the feature where too many items seem to mess up the question box. So keep that in mind until Tumblr finally fixes the thing.

There really are SO MANY WAYS to organize your master list! You can organize it into sections and subsections (and some more subsections). Assuming you’re a fanfiction/fanart/gif set creator, you can organize it fandom-wise, character-wise, done/unfinished-status-wise, fluff/dirt/fear-wise, blah blah blah… and then Add subsections to keep it organized – or don’t, if you don’t want to!
You can have some sort of “masterlist of masterlists” if that’s your thing where you have links from masterlists of different fandoms/characters/whatever in one place. How to Enable the Ask Feature in Tumblr: 9 Steps (with Pictures)
Enabling the Ask feature on your Tumblr blog is a great way to share interactions with your followers. If you enable the “Questions” feature, your readers can click a link on your blog to ask you a question directly. Depending on their preference, readers even have the option to ask their questions anonymously. To enable the Ask feature on your blog, you need a web browser as this option is not yet available on the mobile app.

Make sure your ask box is checked. (under Settings, found by clicking the person icon next to the search bar) To see if your request is enabled, go to your page and add /ask to the URL. If it says “Not Found” it’s not checked and you’ll need to go back and do it. Go to your custom page. Scroll down to where the pages are located, then click Add Page or edit your existing FAQ/Custom Questions page. (Your page should preferably already be typed before you add this!) Click the button where all the markup buttons are (e.g. bold, italic, strikethrough) and make sure she is blue Copy and paste this code where you have it like and if done correctly the code should be green and purple. Change the URL part to your own URL.

NOTE: I used a-pocketful as an example because it’s my URL. Please use your own and not mine!
Press again and then refresh preview to see how it looks on the page. Request denied is displayed; Ignore this and press “Save”. If you visit your site in a different tab, you’ll see that it still works. If it says there’s nothing here, or if there’s a login page, go back and make sure you followed step 7 or that your question is checked. Press “Save” and you’re done.
